Hero Xpulse 200 Dakar EditionUntil Xpulse 210 is launched, Hero seems to be upping the excitement around Xpulse 200 4V by launching a limited Dakar Edition
World’s leading motorcycle manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp, has been on a mission to make its premium lineup more appealing than before. In that regard, Hero has just launched Xpulse 200 Dakar Edition in India, priced at Rs 1.67 lakh (Ex-sh), a slight price increment on the Pro variant on which it is based. The sole colour is Gloss Goldfish Silver.
    Hero Xpulse 200 Dakar Edition
ADVs and off-road motorcycles have been gaining popularity in India, owing to buyers’ increased thirst for thrill and adventure. Catering to this niche, Hero MotoCorp offers Xpulse 200 4V in India, which is the country’s most affordable off-road machine. Also, Xpulse 200 4V Pro variant is country’s most affordable off-roader with fully adjustable suspension.
    Hero Xpulse Dakar Edition
Hero is targeting enthusiasts and beginners alike by offering cutting-edge suspension technology for the masses to hone their off-road skills. Now, Hero is adding a dash of excitement with the Xpulse 200 Pro variant with the launch of a Dakar Rally Edition priced at Rs 1.67 lakh (Ex-sh).
Bookings for this motorcycle commenced today, 18th December 2024, and deliveries are expected to start soon. Hero Xpulse Dakar Edition is a limited edition model that promises unlimited adventures. However, one has to note that the announcement of this Dakar Rally is ahead of Xpulse 210 launch, which has been unveiled already.
    Hero Xpulse Dakar Edition
    What are the changes?
Hero Xpulse 200 Dakar Edition is based on the highly capable Pro variant of this motorcycle. This means it gets all the attributes we love from the Xpulse 200 Pro variant. These include fully adjustable front (rebound and compression) and rear (rebound and pre-load) suspension, 270mm tall ground clearance, handlebar risers for enhanced riding position and more.
Motorcycle shown in promo video also featured Maxxis knobby off-road tyres as well, which could be part of the package. Main differences are in looks department. Dakar Edition gets, well, Dakar-inspired livery on its body, while actual bodywork remains the same as standard model.
    Hero Xpulse Dakar Edition
Promo video featured Ross Branch, who finished Dakar 2024 in 2nd place. We can see Hero Xpulse 200 Dakar Edition bashing the dunes in full glory. Iconic Dakar logo on fuel tank lends it a unique look. Other elements from standard bike are present too, like the knuckle guards and tall windscreen.
    Hero Xpulse Dakar Edition
Where powertrains are concerned, Xpulse 200 Dakar Edition continue to be powered by the same 199.6cc single-cylinder 4V/cyl oil-cooled engine that is capable of delivering 18.9 bhp of peak power and 17.35 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Until the Xpulse 210 is launched, Hero is upping excitement with current Xpulse 200 to boost sales.

    Hero Xpulse 200T And Xtreme 200S Discontinued – 210 Incoming ?

Hero Xtreme 200SBoth Hero Xpulse 200T and Xtreme 200S were powered by the same engine as Xpulse 200 off-roader with 19 hp and 17.35 Nm
World’s largest motorcycle manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp, just axed two of its 200cc motorcycles from the Indian portfolio. We’re talking about the Xpulse 200T and Xtreme 200S motorcycles that shared their powertrain with the popular Xpulse 200 off-roader. Let’s take a closer look.
Xpulse 200T And Xtreme 200S Discontinued
Hero MotoCorp has been on a mission to establish a robust premium motorcycle lineup. Selling premium motorcycles is only half the story, while offering a premium experience for buyers is more important. Hero has been expanding its Premia dealerships in this regard, aiming to offer a much better buying and service experience.
    Hero XPulse 200T Facelift
Hero’s Premia dealerships will soon be populated by Xpulse 210, Xtreme 250, Karizma 250, Mavrick 440 USD forks variant, Maverick 440 Scrambler, Vida Z and more offerings. While the expansion plans look positive, Hero MotoCorp has had to drop a few motorcycles from the portfolio too.
These motorcycles are Xpulse 200T and Xtreme 200S. Lack of sales and popularity could be the primary reasons why these motorcycles could have been discontinued. There’s a good probability that these motorcycles just didn’t garner the same demand and enthusiasm that company expected.
    Hero Xtreme 200S 4V
Not for lack of trying, on Hero’s part as these bikes were periodically updated with better equipment and powertrain upgrades. However, there’s a good probability that we won’t be hearing from these motorcycles ever again. Both motorcycles were equipped with the same 200cc 4V oil-cooled engine as Xpulse 200 off-roader.
Where price is concerned, Xpulse 200T was sold at Rs 1.40 lakh (Ex-sh) and Xtreme 200S at Rs 1.41 lakh (Ex-sh). On paper, these motorcycles were much more affordable than the Xpulse 200 off-roader which was priced starting from Rs 1.52 lakh (Ex-sh). However, the desirability factor with the Xpulse 200T and Xtreme 200S was lower.
    New Hero Xpulse 200T
Should Hero re-launch them with newer engines?
Xpulse 200T was a touring-centric (T for Touring) variant of Xpulse 200 off-roader. This motorcycle rolled on 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends and was wrapped with fatter tubeless tyres. Xtreme 200S, on the other hand, is a fully-faired version of this motorcycle with similar attributes. But the execution was more commuter-y than supersport-y.
Now that Karizma XMR 210 exist and Hero bringing Karizma XMR 250, we don’t think Xtreme 200S would be missed by the Indian audience. However, we hope the company considers launching a Supermoto version of upcoming Xpulse 210 off-roader with 17-inch wheels and fat rubber. With fully adjustable suspension, of course.

Hero Mavrick 440 Mileage Test Report – Real World Fuel Efficiency

Hero Mavrick 440 Mileage TestConsidering the displacement and performance it packs, Hero Mavrick 440 mileage test results in real-world conditions are impressive
India’s leading motorcycle manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp, needs no introduction. The company has an unmatched legacy in India and abroad with budget commuter offerings. Reliability, affordability, accessibility, fuel efficiency and economical running costs are the main forte of Hero and its budget commuters.
Now, Hero has a proper big bike in their portfolio for the first time with Mavrick 440. But how much mileage (fuel Efficiency) can one expect out of Hero’s first big bike? Hero MotoCorp provided Rushlane with a review sample and here’s what the Mavrick 440 managed to eke out riding through a mixture of city (with traffic) and highways.
    Hero Mavrick 440
    Hero Mavrick 440 Mileage Report
With the review sample provided by Hero MotoCorp, I embarked on a long weekend solo ride to experience Hero’s first-ever big bike. I took the motorcycle from my place in Pune to Chatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, then to Nashik and returned back to Pune in just two days. Mavrick 440 packs ample performance with a 440cc oil-cooled engine with 27 bhp and 36 Nm, mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
Hero Mavrick 440 – Start Of The Test
I was curious to find out just how fuel-efficient Hero Mavrick 440 is. So, I followed a proper tank-to-tank method. Mavrick’s fuel tank was filled to the brim and travelled across city traffic and highway run, including a few bad patches of roads along the way. After riding it for 192.5 km, I filled the tank back again to the brim, at the same spot as before, for a close-to-accurate reading.
Hero Mavrick 440 – End Of The Test
As seen in our mileage test run, Hero Mavrick 440 consumed 4.48L of fuel to cover 192.5 km. This was a surprising result as the mileage figure (fuel efficiency) turned out to be an impressive 42.96 km/l. It has to be noted that the majority of this ride was done on highways within a set speed limit of 100 km/h.
Hero Mavrick 440 – Fuel Consumed
Around 10% of this 192.5 km mileage was in the city with reasonable traffic in and around Chatrapati Sambhaji Nagar. Even on highways, throttle modulation was normal and I was not wringing it hard. Average highway speeds maintained across this ride were between 90 km/h and 100 km/h.
    Is the mileage good?
Interestingly, bike’s instrument cluster showed a range of 451 km when the tank was filled to the brim. I felt like the Fuel gauge was generally inconsistent during my period with this motorcycle. In the city, especially in Pune traffic, I was getting around 25 km/l to 30 km/l, which is acceptable for a motorcycle of this displacement and performance.
    Hero Mavrick 440
The sub 500cc premium single-cylinder motorcycle segment is gaining popularity and has been populated by multiple offerings across many brands. Royal Enfield has launched Himalayan 450 and Guerrilla 450, Bajaj-KTM duo has 390 Duke, 390 Adventure, RC 390 and Husqvarna Svartpilen 401, Bajaj-Triumph has Speed T4, Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X.
Hero MotoCorp and Harley-Davidson partnership are crashing the party with Mavrick 440 and X440 respectively. Hero Mavrick 440 is the more affordable offering, while still offering the same basic ethos as X440, sans the brand factor and a few nice-to-have elements. With pricing as the key strength, Mavrick 440 even undercuts Royal Enfield’s Classic 350. More

Hero Mavrick 440 Scrambler Name Trademarked – Launch Soon?

Hero Mavrick 440 ScramblerAlong with new design elements, there might be tuning to Hero Mavrick 440 Scrambler’s powertrain and suspension setup for a unique character
India’s leading motorcycle manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp, is currently on a mission to revamp its premium lineup. Not just that, the goal is also to offer a premium ownership experience and that’s where Hero’s Premia dealerships come into action. Populating these new dealerships is tasked to a multitude of current and upcoming motorcycles.
Among these upcoming motorcycles, Hero showcased a few at EICMA 2024 last month. Among the showcased motorcycles, Mavrick 440 Scrambler was missing, whose design patent was leaked ahead of EICMA 2024. Now, the trademark application of Hero Mavrick 440 has been leaked suggesting a launch might be around the corner.
    Hero Mavrick 440 Scrambler
Where genre is concerned, Hero Mavrick 440 is a Roadster with hints of a neo-retro motorcycle. However, it can be easily confused as it doesn’t make a lasting impression on audience. The ‘Jack of all trades’ approach might be lending it a slightly convoluted identity. If only there was a more dedicated genre approach, there’s a lot to like about Mavrick 440.
That’s exactly where Mavrick 440 Scrambler might excel. This is Hero’s first ever scrambler vehicle to hit the market. After the leaked design patents, trademark filings have been leaked, confirming the name of this upcoming motorcycle. As seen in filing from Hero MotoCorp limited, Mavrick 440 Scrambler name is already registered.
Hero Mavrick 440 Scrambler Name Trademarked
The design patents leaked last month suggest that Mavrick 440 Scrambler will have upgraded components over standard model on sale today. There are new design elements on Scrambler variant too, helping in establishing a unique identity of its own. Powertrain could be the same 440cc oil-cooled unit with 27 bhp and 36 Nm, mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
    Design changes
Some of these design changes include a new fly screen and fork gaiters on RSU telescopic forks at the front to lend Scrambler vibes. There is a new handlebar that comes with a cross brace as opposed to the simpler one seen on standard Mavrick 440. Alloy wheel design is new and might get a dual-tone effect.
Fuel tank looks like it is carried over. However, tank shrouds on Mavrick 440 Scrambler get a new pattern and side body panels are new, for a rugged vibe. Rear sub frame looks new and it is slightly raised for more ground clearance. LED tail lights and rear mud guard are unique with this variant.
New Hero Mavrick 440 Scrambler Variant
Seat looks much flatter and is a split-type design as opposed to Mavrick 440’s single-piece approach. Other notable changes include beefy-looking side guards along with a engine bash plate that might be made out of metal. Together with these new design elements, Hero Mavrick 440 Scrambler looks a lot more macho and appealing. When launched, it take on Royal Enfield Scram 440 and Triumph’s upcoming Scrambler T4. More
