Only some minor touch-ups can be introduced. However, with the longer size and additional doors, the side body panelling has changed. Wuling BinguoEV Costs Rs. 19 Lakh (IDR 358 Million) – India Launch Likely?

Wuling BinguoEV launched in Indonesia in 3 coloursThere is quite a bit of parts sharing between MG Comet EV launched in India and Wuling BinguoEV recently launched in IndonesiaAmong the prospective electric cars for India from global markets, BYD Seagull is a prominent name. In China, Seagull was launched at CNY 79K (Rs. 9.4 lakh). And it primarily rivals Wuling BinguoEV (costs CNY 67K in China) which was recently launched in Indonesia. Wuling’s launches in Indonesia usually ring launch bells for India under MG brand. Let’s take a look.Wuling BinguoEV Gets Attractive PricingThe shift towards electric cars in India is picking its pace. Indigenous Indian brands like Tata and Mahindra have been exploring more opportunities in this segment. Other brands like Hyundai, Kia, BYD and MG are on the verge of pushing boundaries with new and affordable electric vehicles as well.BYD and MG Motor under SAIC-GM-Wuling have great chances of making it big in India’s electric vehicle scene. Currently MG is the one to boast India’s most affordable mainstream electric car title with the recent launch of 3-door Comet EV. If the company is considering BinguoEV for India, it would be a great contender to Tata Tiago EV, Citroen eC3 and Tigor EV.To some extent, it would take on the likes of Nexon EV and XUV400 too. In Indonesia, Wuling has priced BinguoEV between IDR 358 Million (Rs. 19 lakh) and IDR 408 Million (Rs. 21.9 lakh). If you are wondering whether Wuling Bingo and Wuling BinguoEV are two different vehicles, they are not. The company has launched it as BinguoEV in Indonesia and the reason could be clashing trademarks with Bingo name.Wuling BinguoEVIt measures 3,950 mm in length, 1,708 mm in width, 1,580 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,560 mm. Wuling BinguoEV is considerably larger than BYD Seagull. There are two battery pack options for Indonesia with DC charging compatibility – 31.9 kWh with 41 bhp motor and 333 km range, and 37.9 kWh with 68 bhp motor and 410 km claimed range.Cute-sy design sets it apartIn Indonesia, there are three pastel colours on offer – Mousse Green, Galaxy Blue and Milk Tea. Design-wise, Bingo has a cute-sy appeal too with its X-shaped LED DRL signature in headlights and tail lights, sleek projector headlight, curvaceous and minimal sheet metal detailing, water splash design 15-inch wheel covers and overall classy and cute-sy design. On the inside, we can see quite a few similarities with MG Comet EV launched in India. Dual 10-inch horizontal displays in the same housing, steering wheel with pod controls, and gear selecting dial are identical to Comet EV. Even the key fob is identical.Wuling BinguoEV DashboardWuling BinguoEV has a classy interior layout with extensive soft-touch plastics. These include leatherette clad dashboard with stitching and large doorpads with cladding and stitching. Boot space is 310L that can be extended to 790L with 2nd row folded. MG Motor India has not officially confirmed bringing Wuling BinguoEV to our shores. But it would be a compelling product for MG to further fortify their EV grounds in India. More

MG Comet Based Yep Electric Pickup Could Soon Be A Reality

MG Yep e-SUV’s Pickup versionMG Comet based Yep electric SUV will soon get a pickup version – Reveals new reportProspect of a mini EV is understandable. It aids in big cities with heavy congestion, parking and running costs. Newest EV in India, MG Comet, is a good example. MG’s parent company has revealed more mini EVs based on the Comet platform. One of them is Baojun Yep EV. It is a mini SUV with 3 doors. Launch is planned in the coming weeks.Based on this electric SUV, we will also get an electric pickup truck. Yep, SAIC-GM-Wuling Design Studio (SGMW Studio) has revealed a pickup truck version of its Yep electric mini SUV. These are still in render phase. However, given that it is from SAIC-GM-Wuling, a production version is largely possible.MG Comet Based Yep Electric PickupBaojun Yep is a mini electric SUV designed to bring a tall driving stance in mini EV segment. It will go on sale in China soon for around CNY 100,000 (approx Rs. 11.82 lakh). Launch is expected around June or July. It measures 3381 mm long, 1685 mm wide and 1721 mm tall. Wheelbase is 2110 mm long.Baojun Yep e-SUV is 604 mm shorter than 5-door Jimny in length, 40 mm wider and just 1 mm taller. The recently surfaced pickup version is likely to have similar dimensions. Except, everything behind the front doors is a load bay with wheel-well intrusions.Rear load bayIt is not big and doesn’t seem to fit a fraction of what a real pickup truck can. That said, it looks cuter, more appealing and more lifestyle-y than the standard Yep SUV. A tailgate-mounted spare wheel amplifies ruggedness too. Because of the spare wheel, this tailgate will be side hinged too. Think Mahindra Bolero Invader.A Pink shade, because why not?Because of the rear spare wheel, the pickup truck version misses out on a rear screen, which a regular Baojun Yep gets. This screen is supposedly a way for Yep owners to show their personality by displaying anything they want. What will it pack? The same front design with quad LED headlights, front black grille, clover leaf wheel design and other exterior bits will make their way to this pickup version as well. Baojun will retain the dual horizontal screens on the inside with steering-mounted controls, and other paraphernalia from Yep SUV too.Tough green colourBattery size is not yet out. But this LFP battery has a claimed range of 303 km from a single charge (CLTC). At launch, Baojun Yep will come equipped with a single motor layout generating 68 bhp of power and 140 Nm of torque. Tata vs MG Electric Cars: An Advertising War for Your Attention

Tata vs MGTata vs. MG: The Electric Car War of Words – Advertisement Get Creative – Join the Debate
The advertising war between auto manufacturers is an interesting phenomenon that has been going on for years. In this case, we have jabs being traded over 2 respective electric vehicles.
What started as a single image shared by a Tata dealership on Facebook, has taken on a life of its own during the course of the day. The launch of the MG Comet micro EV has sparked a new advertising war. And it keeps the focus on electric cars. The marketing messages used on behalf of both companies reflect the growing conversations around electric vehicles, and the need to distinguish oneself in the marketplace.
Tata and MG: A Battle of Electric Proportions
“Own a car vs not a cartoon,” was the first find of the day. Highlighting the practicality of their electric cars. The word “car” suggests that Tata is offering a legitimate mode of transportation, while the word “cartoon” implies that the MG Comet is not a serious option. It likely plays on notions of being a more serious choice, as opposed to a quirky and playful vehicle like the MG Comet. Aka cartoon in this instance.
In response, the ongoing banter now positions the Comet as a new, modern, and technologically advanced option with their messaging “Ice age vs new age.” The word “ice age” suggests that Tata’s cars are outdated and old-fashioned, while “new age” implies that MG’s cars are futuristic and cutting-edge. MG is targeting customers who are looking for a stylish and cool car that stands out from the crowd. It positions MG Comet EV as a modern and forward-thinking option. It’s a clever play on words that plays on the idea of a technological revolution from the Ice Age to the New Age.
    Tata vs MG
Electric Car Advertising 101: Tata and MG Get Competitive
The messaging “Old school vs new cool” is a further attempt to position MG Comet as a modern and trendy car. The word “old school” could suggest that Tata’s cars are traditional, outdated, and reminiscent of the past, while “new cool” implies that MG’s cars are modern and fashionable. And thereby targeting customers who are looking for a car that reflects their personality and sense of style.
The notion “taxi or tech” is another dig at Tata, suggesting that their cars are only good for commercial use, while MG’s cars are high-tech and trendy. Probably to click with those who want a car that is not only functional but also represents their lifestyle and values.
Tata’s Taxi Cars vs. MG’s Sexy EVs: Electric Car Marketing Heats Up
Finally, “say tata to taxi vs drive something sexy” sounds a bit more like a direct challenge to Tata’s brand image. The word “taxi” suggests that Tata’s cars are taxis / cabs, while “sexy” implies that MG’s cars are sleek, stylish, and desirable.
These marketing messages are all about positioning respective brands in trying to distinguish themselves, and capture a share of the growing electric car market. If you are in the market for an electric car, take a test drive, weigh your options, and make an informed decision that suits your lifestyle and values. More
