MG Windsor Pro Gets New Base Variant – Price Rs 17.25 L

    New Windsor Exclusive Pro
After launching the Windsor Essence Pro earlier this month, JSW MG Motor India continues their product offensive with the launch of a more affordable Pro variant. This will pack the same 52.9 kWh battery pack with a 449 km range but is based on the mid-spec Exclusive trim level, attracting a lower price tag.
    MG Windsor Exclusive Pro
When MG launched Windsor Pro, it was based on the top-spec Essence trim. Introductory price was Rs 17.5 lakh (Ex-sh) for the first 8,000 bookings. These 8,000 bookings took place well within 24 hours and then MG ended the introductory price, offering MG Windsor Essence Pro for Rs 18.1 lakh (Ex-sh) or Rs 13.09 lakh (Ex-sh) + Rs 4.5 per km BaaS pricing.
    New Windsor Exclusive Pro
Now, MG has launched Windsor Exclusive Pro at Rs 17.25 lakh (Ex-sh) or Rs 12.24 lakh (Ex-sh) + Rs 4.5 per km BaaS pricing. Exclusive Pro is based on the mid-spec Exclusive trim, which is positioned above Excite and below Essence. Deliveries for Exclusive Pro start from first week of June.
Windsor Exclusive Pro is launched in three colours – Pearl White, Starry Black and Turquoise Green. It shares the same powertrain as Windsor Essence Pro launched earlier this month. This means Windsor Exclusive Pro will get the same 52.9 kWh battery pack as the top-spec variant that promises up to 449 km of range on a single charge.
    New Windsor Exclusive Pro
It continues to get the new design 18-inch alloy wheels that Essence Pro also gets along with flush door handles, LED lighting and more. On the inside, MG Windsor Exclusive Pro comes with dual tone Ivory and Black theme which lends an air of sophistication. Other notable features like the 15.6-inch Grand View infotainment screen is present too.
    Statement from MG Motor
Speaking on the launch, Rakesh Sen, Head of Sales, JSW MG Motor India, said, “The overwhelming response to the MG Windsor PRO is evident, with more than 8,000 bookings recorded within 24 hours of its launch. With the top variant now established, we are expanding accessibility of the MG Windsor by introducing the Exclusive PRO variant, offering a larger battery pack alongside premium comfort and convenience. This move is intended to bring the MG Windsor PRO closer to more customers.”

MG Windsor Pro Vs Creta Electric VS Curvv EV – Specs, Performance Compared

MG Windsor Pro vs Creta Electric vs Curvv EVMG Windsor Pro was launched in India for an introductory price of Rs 17.49 lakh (Ex-sh) for the first 8,000 buyers. At this introductory price, Windsor Pro undercuts base prices of Hyundai Creta Electric and Tata Curvv EV, despite being a top-spec variant. These base variants of Creta Electric and Curvv EV come equipped with smaller batteries with less range and features.
Those 8,000 bookings came in under a day and the new Ex-sh price is Rs 18.1 lakh, which is still around the base prices of Creta Electric and Curvv EV. But in this comparison, we will compare Windsor Pro with absolute top variant of Creta Electric and Curvv EV across specs, powertrain and performance.
    MG Windsor Pro Vs Rivals
As seen in the charts, Windsor Pro appears as the most affordable top-spec variant in this comparison as it is priced at Rs 18.1 lakh (Ex-sh). Curvv EV tops out at Rs 22.24 lakh (Ex-sh) for Empowered+ A 55 #Dark variant and Creta Electric emerges as the most expensive at Rs 24.38 lakh (Ex-sh) for Excellence 51.4 LR DT. At these price points, let’s compare the specs.
Creta Electric is the longest in this comparison, but Windsor Pro is the widest, tallest and has the longest wheelbase. Curvv EV’s wheelbase is the smallest and similar to that of Nexon’s. There’s no frunk on offer with Windsor Pro because it has a small bonnet and most of its length is utilised on the inside. It is easily the most spacious in this trio by a landslide.
MG Windsor Pro vs Creta Electric vs Curvv EV – Dimensions
Curvv EV’s 500L boot is not bad, but Windsor Pro offers 579L and regular Windsor has an even larger boot. Curvv EV and Windsor Pro offer 18-inch alloy wheels and have 186 mm ground clearance, while Creta Electric has smaller 17-inch alloys, but a higher 200 mm ground clearance. All vehicles in this comparison offer 215-section tyres.
Windsor Pro is the only one that is a born electric vehicle, while other two are derived EVs. Tata Curvv EV is the only with with a crash safety rating (5 Star, BNCAP). All three vehicles get a single-motor FWD layout and they all get 6 airbags, 360-degree cameras and a sophisticated Level-2 ADAS suite.
    Powertrains Compared
Curvv EV has the biggest battery at 55 kWh and correspondingly, the highest range at 502 km (ARAI). Windsor Pro promises 449 km on a single charge from its 52.9 kWh pack and Creta Electric promises 473 km on a single charge from its 51.4 kWh battery pack. All of them come with variable regen modes to replenish the battery, but Creta Electric is the only one to get i-Pedal mode (one pedal driving), which is really handy.
MG Windsor Pro vs Creta Electric vs Curvv EV – Specs
Creta Electric is the most powerful in this trio as it packs 171 bhp and 255 Nm, promising a 0-100 km/h in 7.9s. Curvv EV is second and Windsor Pro is not designed to be hustled. Where AC charging is concerned, Creta Electric comes out on top again as it offers an 11 kW charger, while Windsor Pro gets 7.4 kW and Curvv EV 7.2 kW. Due to that, charging times are also lowest on Creta Electric. In DC charging, Curvv EV pulls ahead, but you need to find a compatible charger to match those speeds.
While all three vehicles have their Pros and Cons, it is obvious to see why Windsor Pro sells as much as it does. It is the most affordable of this bunch by a landslide and it is the only one with flexible BaaS (Battery as a Service) plans. It is also the most spacious and tech-savvy. Curvv EV’s strength is that it is stylish with its Coupe SUV design and Creta Electric’s strength is that it is a Creta, which is still quite unshakable. More

MG Windsor Pro First Drive Review – Icing On The Cake

MG Windsor Pro First Drive ReviewWithin India’s electric car segment, there are multiple players. Some are former dominators but have lost major market share and some are on their journey to be the country’s best-selling electric car brand. JSW MG Motor India falls in the latter category and has found great success with Windsor EV, which is already India’s best-selling electric car.
Improving on their offering further, MG has just launched Windsor EV Pro, which is a, well, a Pro version of Windsor EV. We experienced this vehicle as part of the national media drive organised by MG Motor. While it is vastly familiar, Windsor EV Pro addresses some of the shortcomings that media and buyers expressed with Windsor. After driving this vehicle across Assam and Meghalaya, here’s what we think about this new EV.
    MG Windsor Pro
MG Windsor Pro First Drive Review
We should start with the pricing, as they have been announced already. MG’s introductory prices have ended as the first 8,000 bookings came well within a day. MG Windsor Pro has been priced at Rs 18.1 lakh (Ex-sh) without BaaS pricing and Rs 13.09 lakh + Rs 4.5 per km with BaaS pricing with battery as a rental service.
    MG Windsor Pro
There are three new colours with Windsor Pro – Celadon Blue, Glaze Red and Aurora Silver. Of these three, Glaze Red is likely to garner a lot of bookings as it looked quite eye-candy. Windsor Pro gets a new design for the 18-inch alloy wheels that looks like it could be lighter than what is offered with Windsor. Another change with Windsor Pro is an ADAS badge in Red highlights.
    MG Windsor Pro
    Design changes
Where design is concerned, those are the only changes and Windsor Pro continues to smite buyers with its premium flair and roomy silhouette. It is still the same size too. The only other exterior change is that it now gets an electrically operated tailgate which ups the premium quotient providing access to its massive boot. Other than this, it is virtually identical to Windsor, which you might already be familiar with.
    MG Windsor Pro
Even on the inside, there are no real changes other than the fact that it now gets Black and Ivory dual-tone upholstery. Even though Ivory upholstery is hard to keep clean, it is a welcome change as it makes the cabin look and feel roomier and adds a flair of sophistication too. The new Ivory shade and Windsor’s Infinity View glass roof transforms lend an airy feel.
    MG Windsor Pro
Other features continue to be the same on the inside, which is not a bad thing. The 2,700 mm long wheelbase carves out a lot of room for all occupants and rear seats still recline up to 135 degrees for a lounge-like experience. This cabin is ergonomic and it is well thought out. It gets soft-touch plastics, a floating centre console with storage and premium touches for AC vent knobs, power window switches and many more.
    MG Windsor Pro
The 15.6-inch free-standing infotainment screen is still slick to use and controls almost all the vehicular functions including headlights, ventilated seat controls and a lot more. Once you get used to it, the circular pod controls on steering wheel, infotainment screen and instrument cluster all feel like second nature and the learning curve is not that steep.
    MG Windsor Pro
    Added Pro Features
Main addition in terms of technology is not V2L (Vehicle to Load) or V2V (Vehicle to Vehicle), but it is the Level-2 ADAS suite. This was one of the main feedbacks with the Windsor EV, which MG has worked on rather quickly. MG, as a brand, is known for its advances in ADAS suite in Indian car market and democratising it for the masses.
    MG Windsor Pro
Now, Windsor Pro has autonomous features like auto emergency braking, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, auto high beam assist and many others. We tried them out during our time with this vehicle on the highways and city roads and they work as advertised. Lane keep assist is not for twisty hill station roads as we had in Assam and Meghalaya, but should work very reliably on regular roads with an added safety net.
    MG Windsor Pro
A larger 52.9 kWh battery pack powers Windsor Pro, which is 39.2% larger than Windsor’s 38 kWh battery pack. With the larger battery pack, MG is claiming a 449 km range on a single charge, which is 35.64% more range than Windsor’s 331 km promised range. Higher range should act as a deterrent for range anxiety and eHUB by MG app has emerged as a key aspect in EV transitions.
    MG Windsor Pro
    Performance & Dynamics
When we started the journey in the morning, our Windsor Pro review unit had 99% charge and it was indicating 400+ km of range on a single charge. At the end of our journey, Windsor Pro’s battery SOC was at 44% and it was still showing a 187 km range left. In our experience, we found it quite close to reality and one could expect around 400 km of real-world range with MG Windsor Pro if driven sanely.
    MG Windsor Pro
Speaking of driving, there haven’t been any changes in the performance department. It continues to be powered by a sole 134 bhp and 200 Nm electric motor, driving front wheels only. There are multiple drive modes and Sport unlocks all the performance. 0-100 km/h spring can be done in around 10 seconds and instant acceleration is quite addictive. Regen braking is very effective as well and one can adjust regen level as per their liking.
    MG Windsor Pro
Dynamically, Windsor Pro remains more or less the same as Windsor EV. The hilly roads we took in Assam and Meghalaya tempted us to push this vehicle harder around corners. But we realised that corner carving is not Windsor Pro’s forte and it is not designed for spirited driving either. For intended use, Windsor Pro rides and handles quite well. We just wished bump absorption was a little better as it can get slightly unsettling once the speeds go up.
    MG Windsor Pro
    Conclusion
We just wished there were more features added with Windsor Pro, which was not the case. Primary of these is a rear washer and wiper, which continues to be a baffling omission. We didn’t feel the need for it when we drove Windsor in Gurgaon last year. We missed rear wiper a lot in Assam and Meghalaya where it rains cats and dogs. The other feature we expected was rear ventilated seats, which definitely sounds like a Pro feature to have in a market like India.
    MG Windsor Pro
Other than these, Windsor Pro is a significant step up from Windsor and can easily emerge as a phenomenon and probably even make JSW MG Motor India, the country’s best-selling electric car manufacturer. It has a lot of things going for it and a larger battery promising higher range along with an added safety net from Level-2 ADAS suite is the icing on the cake. More

MG Windsor Pro 8K Bookings Done In 24 Hrs – New Prices

MG Windsor ProIntroductory price of Rs 17.50 lakh was applicable on the first 8000 bookings, after which, prices were increased by Rs 60,000
Launched on 6th May, MG Windsor Pro packs in a larger battery pack (more range), new features and enhanced safety with ADAS. Bookings opened on 8th May, and all 8,000 units allocated under the introductory price offer were sold out within 24 hours. This is one of the highest number of bookings in a day for an electric car in India.
MG Windsor Pro 8K Bookings – Updated prices
For the first 8,000 buyers, MG Windsor Pro was offered at an introductory price of Rs 17.49 lakh. With the BaaS model, the introductory price was Rs 12.49 lakh + Rs 4.5 / km (battery rental). With prices increased by Rs 60,000 after the introductory offer, new prices are Rs 18.10 lakh for the standard model and Rs 13.09 lakh + Rs 4.5 / km with the BaaS ownership option.
MG Windsor Pro receiving 8,000 bookings within 24 hours is a significant milestone. Earlier, the standard MG Windsor EV, launched in October 2024, had registered 15,176 bookings within 24 hours. This was the highest at that time for a new electric car in India. These numbers highlight the growing popularity of MG Windsor, which is currently the top selling electric car in India. The combo of competitive pricing and flexible ownership options are among the key drivers for the EV’s success.
    MG Windsor Pro Battery
With Windsor sales booming, MG Motor is ranked second in the list of best selling EV brands in the country. In April, the company registered sales of 3,488 units. YoY growth was an impressive 175%, as compared to 1,268 units sold in the year-ago period. MG currently has a market share of around 28% in India’s EV market. With the Windsor Pro model, sales could gain more traction in the coming months.
MG Windsor Pro – What’s new?
One of the key updates is a larger 52.9 kWh battery pack, offering an ARAI-certified range of 449 km. In comparison, the standard Windsor EV is equipped with a 38-kWh battery pack, offering a range of 331 km. With the increased range, users will feel more comfortable when planning intercity journeys. The number of recharges needed every week for city commutes will reduce as well. MG Windsor Pro range is now closer to that of rivals such as Tata Nexon EV (489 km).
Safety has been enhanced with 12 ADAS functions. It includes traffic jam assist (TJA), adaptive cruise control (ACC) with bend cruise assistance (BCA), lane departure warning (LDW), lane departure prevention (LDP), lane keep assist (LKA), forward collision warning (FCW), autonomous emergency braking (AEB), intelligent hydraulic braking assistance (IHBA) and intelligent headlamp control (IHC).
    MG Windsor Pro Interiors
MG Windsor Pro also gets additional features such as vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging, vehicle-to-load (V2L) and a powered tailgate. It also gets new alloy wheels. Three new colour options are available – Celadon Blue, Aurora Silver and Glaze Red. Inside, MG Windsor Pro gets dual-tone ivory interiors for a more premium feel. In comparison, the standard Windsor EV has all-black upholstery. Apart from these, other features of Windsor Pro are the same as the standard Windsor EV. More

MG Windsor Pro Bookings Open – First 8,000 Buyers Get Intro Prices

    MG Windsor Pro
JSW MG Motor India is expanding their portfolio to take home the best-selling electric car manufacturer tag, which is currently in Tata Motors’ hands. Specifically, they’re expanding Windsor’s variant lineup to include a new and better-equipped Windsor Pro, which was launched recently.
Only the first 8,000 customers will get the rather attractive introductory pricing offered with Windsor Pro. Bookings for this vehicle have commenced and buyers can reserve themselves a better-equipped version of India’s best-selling electric vehicle.
    MG Windsor Pro Bookings Open
With the launch of Windsor Pro, JSW MG Motor India is on a mission to etch its name in India’s electric vehicle landscape. The company seems to have heard feedback from buyers and then improved upon what was already established as the country’s best-selling electric car for some time now.
    MG Windsor Pro Interiors
Introductory price of Windsor Pro is Rs 17.49 lakh (Ex-sh) without any battery rental programs for the first 8,000 buyers. With BaaS (Battery as a Service) program, one can buy a Windsor Pro for Rs 12.49 lakh and Rs 4.5 per kilometre driven as battery rental fees. This has proved to be a game changer, differentiating MG from other EV makers operating in India.
Windsor Pro is based on Essence Pro trim level and it gets three new colours – Celadon Blue, Glaze Red and Aurora Silver. Except for the new colours the only new change you can spot in a Windsor Pro from a standard Windsor is the new alloy wheel design and an ADAS badge on the tailgate. That is because MG Windsor Pro now comes with Level-2 ADAS suite.
    Added features
Other notable changes with Windsor Pro are the addition of V2L (Vehicle to Load) and V2V (Vehicle to Vehicle) features, which were not on offer with standard Windsor. Then there’s the larger 52.9 kWh battery pack, with a max range increased to 449 km on a single charge. This is a welcome addition and will attract more buyers towards Windsor Pro.
    MG Windsor Pro Interiors
The main change on the inside is that MG is offering a dual-tone Black and Ivory theme. Seat upholstery is now Ivory shade which might be hard to keep clean, but is much cooler than a Black seat. Ventilated front seats, 2,700 mm wheelbase, 135-degree reclining rear seats, electrically operated tailgate and more. More

With BaaS pricing, MG Windosr redefined electric mobility in India, making EV pricing more convenient for buyers. MG Windsor Pro comes with a better range allowed by a bigger battery and more technology.
    MG Windsor Pro Launch
Even though MG Windsor has emerged as the country’s best-selling electric vehicle, the company is not resting with this victory. Pushing their innovation forward, JSW MG Motor India has just launched the Windsor Pro, which is a result of their persistent commitment to excellence and responding to customer feedback.
    MG Windsor Pro Launch

MG Windsor Pro is based on Essence Pro trim and gets three new colour options – Celadon Blue, Glaze Red and Aurora Silver. Bookings will be open from 8th May onwards.
    MG Windsor Pro Launch
Where design is concerned, there isn’t all that much newness with MG Windsor Pro over standard Windsor. However, keen eyes will spot a new alloy wheel design with Windsor Pro. Another element that differentiates Windsor Pro from Windsor is the ADAS badge in Red shade seen on rear tailgate.
    MG Windsor Pro Interiors
Immediately noticeable changes can be seen on the inside of MG Windsor Pro as there is a new Black and Ivory leatherette seat upholstery offered for the first time. This coupled with the massive Infinity View glass roof, should make the cabin feel a lot airy than it did before. Other elements like 135-degree reclining rear seats and the 2,700 mm long wheelbase for business-class feel are carried over.
    MG Windsor Pro Interiors
Bump in battery pack and range
With MG Windsor Pro, the company is offering a larger 52.9 kWh battery pack consisting of Prismatic cells. This battery allows for a significantly higher range of 449 km on a single charge, than the standard Windsor. The company maintains a 3-year unlimited vehicle warranty, 3-year complimentary RSA and 3 free labour services. Also, there is a 3-year 60% assured buyback policy as well.
    MG Windsor Pro Battery
In addition to the bigger battery, MG Windsor Pro also gets Pro features like V2L (Vehicle to Load) and V2V (Vehicle to Vehicle). This transforms Windsor Pro into a mobile power hub to charge electronic gadgets and appliances and even other EVs. With the addition of Level-2 ADAS, Windsor Pro now gets adaptive cruise control, auto emergency braking, lane keep assist, high beam assist and more.
Statement from JSW MG Motor India
Speaking on the launch of MG Windsor PRO, Anurag Mehrotra, Managing Director, JSW MG Motor India, said, “MG Windsor has been instrumental in accelerating the growth of India’s 4W-EV segment, winning customers over with its compelling value proposition. Alongside our partners, we remain committed to redefining the Indian auto landscape by delivering relevant innovations at the right time with the right technology. MG Cyber GTS Coupe Debuts With 2+2 Seating

    Cyber GTS Coupe from MG
With the launch of Cyberster, MG got back to its roots of making Roadsters. Cyberster is the fastest MG Roadster MG has ever made. This 2-Door convertible roof with 2-Seater formula seems to have worked and has garnered a lot of positive impressions across the world and is even launching in India soon.
Now, it is time to expand MG’s performance lineup and the company has just confirmed the launch of Cyber GTS Coupe. This is a 2-Door, Coupe 2+2 seater with a fixed roof version of Cyberster, which made its appearance at Goodwood Festival of Speed last year. Let’s take a closer look.
    Cyber GTS Coupe from MG
    MG Cyber GTS Coupe
In a presentation at the Shanghai Motor Show, MG Motor confirmed it will launch a 2+2 seater 2-Door Coupe version of Cyberster Roadster. It is not yet revealed whether the coupe version will retain the swanky scissor doors (commonly called Lamborghini doors) seen in Roadster version or will Cyber GTS get conventional doors.
What is confirmed, though, is the presence of a 2+2 seating on the inside where rear seats will probably be mostly for kids. Also confirmed, is a fixed roof that gets a stylish sloping Coupe design. This sloping roofline ends at the rear, where most rear lighting elements are likely to be retained.
    Cyber GTS Coupe from MG
Similar story might be true at the front where most of Cyberster’s design may be carried over. With Cyber GTS, MG is paying homage to MGC GTS Sebring racing car, popular around the 60s. We hope MG opts for a pillar-less design in its glass area that looks dope.
Powering this vehicle is likely to be the same 77 kWh battery pack that is capable of delivering up to 500 km on a single charge in Cyberster. In Cyberster, this battery powers two electric motors, one on each axle, for a combined 510 bhp of peak power and 725 Nm of peak torque. Acceleration figures might be around the same as Cyberster, which is 0-100 km/h in 3.2 seconds.
    Cyber GTS Coupe from MG
    Will it launch in India?
As of now, JSW MG Motor India has not confirmed whether Cyber GTS will make it to our market. However, the company is launching Cyberster soon along with M9 through their MG Select dealerships. Will Cyber GTS Coupe be MG’s third CBU vehicle to launch through MG Select premium dealerships? Only time will tell. More
