BMW Electric Two Wheeler Concept Combining Bicycle And Motorbike

New BMW Electric Motorcycle / Bicycle ConceptElectric two-wheeler space has virtually limitless possibilities in terms of design, form and function
As part of its plans to introduce innovative products for urban mobility, BMW Motorrad has unveiled the Vision AMBY concept. By combining the benefits of a bicycle and a motorbike, BMW Motorrad Vision AMBY could spawn an entirely new range of electric two-wheelers in the future. Battery powered electric bicycles already exist, but Vision AMBY is way ahead in terms of hi-tech features, usability and practicality.
BMW Motorrad Vision AMBY design and features
A quick glance reveals that Vision AMBY is just like any other bicycle. However, in functional terms, it’s more of a motorbike. At the front, the bike has a small headlight and a U-shaped BMW Motorrad light signature. The latter is indicative of the origins of this concept electric bike. Other unique aspects of the bike include its large-dimensioned front forks. These are covered with thick protectors, which ensure a rugged look and feel for the bike.
Handlebar is placed ergonomically and at the right height, suitable for both on-road and off-road tracks. The bike utilizes 26-inch wheel at the front and 24-inch wheel at rear. These are shod with chunky tyres, the front being thinner for optimal turning. Rear tyre is relatively thicker and rounder, which enhances its off-roading capabilities.
The bike is equipped with a sleek seat that seamlessly merges with the rising upper frame. Combined with taller front section, the stance looks similar to that of a BMW Enduro motorbike. At the rear, the bike has double LED element tail light.
New BMW Electric Motorcycle / Bicycle Concept
BMW Motorrad Vision AMBY range and specs
As per WMTC, the bike has range of around 110 km. Three ride modes are available, allowing varying speeds based on type of track. The bike is fitted with intelligent systems that can automatically detect the type of track. Speed is then accordingly adjusted. For cycle paths, the bike can travel at speeds of up to 25 kmph. For city roads and out of town / multi-lane roads, top speed is 45 kmph and 60 kmph, respectively.
For travelling at higher speeds, the rider will need driving licence, insurance licence plate and helmet. These requirements are the same as that of riding a standard motorbike. Vision AMBY comes with a throttle grip for acceleration. It does not have pedals. It is to note that BMW Motorrad has unveiled another e-bike named i Vision AMBY. This comes with pedals instead of a throttle grip. To get power from electric drive, the rider has to continuously use the pedal.
Battery and drive unit on Vision AMBY are integrated into a compact casing placed at the centre. Overall, the bike weighs 65 kg. This is much lighter in comparison to standard electric two-wheelers.
For an interactive experience, BMW Motorrad Vision AMBY is equipped with smartphone connectivity. The bike is future-proof, as it can be updated with a host of features. Possibilities for the future include an optimized ABS system, tyre pressure monitoring system, and proximity warning radar. More

BMW G310GS New Style Triple Black Colour Teased Ahead Of India Launch

BMW G310GS New Colour TeasedIn the Indian market, BMW G310GS takes on rivals like KTM 390 Adventure and Royal Enfield Himalayan
As part of its plan to keep its portfolio refreshed, BMW is offering new colour options for its bikes. The company recently introduced new colour options for G310R and G310GS in USA. Some earlier colour options have been discontinued. New colour options for G310R and G310GS will be introduced in India as well.
BMW G310GS Style Triple Black teased
In US market, BMW G310GS has already been updated with Style Triple Black colour option. It replaces the earlier Cosmic Black Shade. In India, the Cosmic Black shade is offered with the roadster G 310 R. It is not available with G310GS. Existing colour options for G310GS include Rallye Style Cyanite Blue, Polar White and a special ’40 Years GS’ edition.
The new Style Triple Black colour seems to suit the overall design aesthetics of G310GS. An adventure-ready motorcycle, G310GS has an aggressive profile. Style Triple Black option is primarily an all-black theme with a few contrasting bits of white thrown in. The black colour compliments the dominating nature of the bike. It also creates an exciting contrast with the golden USD forks.
Most parts are blacked-out such as front fenders, headlamp cowl, visor, engine, engine guard, fuel tank, frame, and alloy wheels. The white bits include the tank extensions, rear shock absorber, and underseat frame.
    BMW G310GS New Colour Teased
It is likely that existing colour options of Rallye Style Cyanite Blue and Polar White will be retained. However, the ’40 Years GS’ edition colour option could be discontinued. These changes have already been introduced in US market.
Talking a bit about existing colour options, Rallye Style Cyanite Blue is probably the most dynamic of all. Inspired by MotoGP, this colour theme utilizes an interesting mix of orange, blue and black. Bits of white are also added to the colour palette for a more quirky look and feel. The only hitch is that the golden USD forks don’t make much of an impact surrounded by a multitude of colours.
Polar White colour theme is relatively sober, utilizing a mix of grey, white and black. The third option ’40 Years GS’ edition is an interesting combo of black and yellow. This theme is inspired by R 100 GS and has been nicknamed “Bumblebee”.
    BMW G310GS engine and specs
Other than the new colour, BMW G310GS will be largely the same as earlier. The bike gets its power from a 313 cc, water cooled motor that is capable of generating 34 ps of max power at 9,250 rpm and 28 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm. It is mated to a constant mesh 6-speed gearbox. Rated max speed of G310GS is 143 kmph.
The bike utilizes a tubular space frame with USD front forks and monoshock rear suspension. Braking duties are performed by 300 mm disc at the front and 240 mm disc at the rear. Braking system is integrated with BMW Motorrad ABS. More

New BMW Electric Moped Is For Riders Aged 16 Or Above – 90 Kms Range

New BMW Electric Moped – Concept CE 02
The new BMW electric moped has a top-speed of 90 kmph and a range of 90 kms
BMW Motorrad has come up with an interesting urban mobility idea in the form of Concept CE 02. To be debuted at IAA 2021 in a week’s time, the BMW Concept CE 02 is an unconventional two wheeler which can neither be classified as a scooter nor as a classic motorcycle.
    A fresh approach
BMW Motorrad’s design chief Edgar Heinrich says that the objective was to achieve a degree of design innovation hitherto unachieved while pioneering modern forms of single track mobility. The Concept CE-02 stands out from the German two wheeler firm’s current portfolio by means of its compact dimensions.
Clearly, BMW is attempting to bring on board an entirely new breed of customers aged 16 or above who have no prior exposure to motorcycles. The uncomplicated design does manage to have a youthful character to it. The urban runabout features a thin flat saddle which also doubles up as a structural member.
The battery pack and electric motor casing form most part of the vehicle’s chassis. Sturdy front telescopic forms and a single-sided rear shock absorber make up the suspension system while a bicycle like handlebar rounds off the design.
New BMW Electric Moped – Concept CE 02
The 15-inch front and rear disc-type wheels are fitted with meaty rubbers. Front and rear disc brakes are available but we expect regeneration to account for significant portion of the braking action at the rear. BMW says that the layout allows for a low center of gravity which translates into sporty riding dynamics.
New BMW Electric Moped – Concept CE 02
    Powertrain Configuration
Without divulging much about the technical aspects of the hardware, the company has revealed that the Concept CE 02 is powered by a 11 KW electric motor which offers a strong acceleration. The vehicle which is compatible with the European A1 license has a claimed top-speed of 90 kmph.
The autonomy stands at 90 km, making it an ideal urban commuter. With a seat height of 730 mm and kerb weight of 120 kg, the BMW Concept CE-02 would be appealing to young audience who are interested in emotional, unconventional and tech-laden means of transport.
New BMW Electric Moped – Concept CE 02
The urban moped is equipped with four LED lighting elements which constitute the headlamp and two LED sheet taillights mounted on the seat frame. A tiny color digital display mounted on the handlebar serves as the instrument cluster.
    Production prospects
BMW Motorrad has not announced any plans for putting the Concept CE-02 into production. Given that new-age urban mobility solutions are gaining traction across the world, we think the chances of commercializing this project are pretty high. In most markets, the pure electric moped may take advantage of mobility incentives and bonuses. The public feedback to the BMW Concept CE-02 would be crucial in determining its future. More

It will also be the first proper Maxi scooter to be offered in India.
BMW currently has two mid-displacement Maxi scooters under its global portfolio- C 400 X and C 400 GT and both these scooters were updated at the start of this year. However, only the latter is available for booking in our country. BMW Scooter bookings are open and almost 100 customers have pre-booked the same.
The company is yet to announce prices for C 400 GT which is expected to be revealed during its official launch in a few weeks time. Interested buyers can pre-book the scooter at a BMW Motorrad dealership for a token amount of Rs 1,00,000. The Maxi scooter recently went on sale in Malaysia at a price of RM 48,500 (approx. C 400 GT gets a typical Maxi design with a sharp and muscular styling which lends a masculine appeal to its overall exterior. Like every Maxi scooter, the C 400 GT gets a front-heavy faired body. New colour shade of Cosmic Black 2 is essentially an all-black colour theme. Existing Cosmic Black in India has a matching shade of Black, but it has white panels on the sides. Parts of the headlamp cowl are also done in white. In comparison, the new Cosmic Black 2 wears an all-black uniform. It covers the front fender, alloy wheels, headlamp, side panels, chassis, engine, engine cowl and exhaust.
    Official Teaser
The only other colours visible include the BMW logo, white coloured rear shock absorber and golden coloured USD front forks. All all-black theme of Cosmic Black 2 certainly looks more satisfying as compared to the current Cosmic Black option. The deep contrast it creates with the golden USD forks is a real treat for the eyes.
The second new colour option of Vibrant Kyanite Blue Metallic is a lot more flamboyant in comparison to Cosmic Black 2. The theme utilizes an exciting mix of four different colours, white, black, red and blue. The white shade can be seen on the front fender, side panels, and fuel tank. It works as a perfect background to accommodate the contrasting bits of blue and red.
    BMW G310R New Colour Teaser
A number of components have been blacked out such as engine, engine cowl, swingarm, and exhaust. The frame is done in a combination of red and black whereas the wheels are entirely red. Golden USD forks further enhance the bike’s flashy profile. You will need this if you want human heads to take notice on the streets.

Engine and most other hardware will be the same as earlier for 2022 BMW G310R. The bike is powered by a 313 cc, water cooled, single cylinder motor that is capable of generating 34 ps of max power at 9,250 rpm and 28 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm.

BMW G310R Modified Into A Fully Faired Race Machine

    2021 BMW G310R Modified
This custom fully faired supersport version of G310R is used to provide track training for beginners at Zhuhai Circuit in China
BMW G 310 R is one of the coolest and fastest entry-level naked motorcycles one can own in India. It has been the wish of many speed enthusiasts for BMW Motorrad to come with a fully-faired supersport version of the same. However, that doesn’t seem to happen in the near future.
Therefore, a few folks have taken matters into their own hands and modified a naked G310R into a fully-faired sports bike. This bike has been custom-built for the Zhuhai Circuit in China where it is used as a track-only race bike. This motorcycle has undergone many cosmetic as well as structural modifications.
    Modified Design
For starters, its design seems to be inspired by BMW Motorrad flagship- S 1000 RR. In order to get this motorcycle in shape, firstly, the makers removed all the unnecessary parts such as the all-LED headlamp, taillight, indicators, and seat from the stock G310R. With the bare-bones structure in front, the motorcycle gets a faired body inspired by S 1000 R dipped in signature BMW tri-colour livery.
A bubble windscreen is attached to the front apron while a sharp tail section is added. The radiator shroud is added although the engine-gearbox assembly gets a new casing finished in gloss black.
    2021 BMW G310R Modified
Also, a race-spec foam seat has been installed in place of the stock saddle. Meanwhile, the conventional straight-line handlebar gives way for a low-slung clip-on setup and the centre-set footpegs are replaced by billet-type rear-set footpegs.
    2021 BMW G310R Modified
    Other Changes & Specs
The race bike rolls on slicks instead of tyres from Michelin. The standard exhaust has been replaced by a Vanhool full system exhaust. Apart from these changes, everything else remains the same.
The custom bike still employs the same tubular frame which is suspended on a pair of beefy golden-coloured USD forks up front and a mono-shock at rear. Attributes such as switchgear, LCD instrument cluster and alloy wheels have been retained from the stock motorcycle.
    2021 BMW G310R Modified
Coming to its performance, this is a spoiler since it only makes 28 PS of maximum power. This is because the standard spec G 310 R is tuned to make 28 PS of power. India- and Euro-spec models are tuned to return an output of 34 PS and 28 Nm of peak torque. The 313cc, single-cylinder engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox and now comes with a slipper and assist clutch as standard in the BS6 model.
G310R shares its mechanicals- platform and engine with its adventure tourer sibling G310GS and the supersport TVS Apache RR310. It competes against the likes of KTM Duke 390 and Honda CB300R. More

BMW Scooter Teaser For IndiaUpon its launch in India, BMW C 400 GT is expected to be priced around Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom)
BMW Motorrad has teased a new scooter for the Indian market on its social media handle. This will be the German brand’s first Maxi-style offering in India. While the company hasn’t yet revealed any details of its launch timelines or the name of the product, thanks to their global portfolio, we can accurately harbour a guess.
The German marque currently has two mid-displacement Maxi scooters under its global portfolio- C 400 X and C 400 GT. Both these scooters were updated earlier this year. By the looks of it, the scooter shown in the teaser is most probably the latter. Both scooters are based on a 350 cc platform and feature a slew of updates on the Maxi scooter twins.
    Updated Styling
For 2021 the scooter retains its Maxi styling which lends a masculine appeal to its overall exterior. Typical styling highlights of maxi scooter include a raised floorboard, a single-piece step-up seat, front-heavy faired body, multibeam LED headlights on the apron and a tall windscreen.
The rider sits quite low but the pillion sits considerably higher. Broad upright handlebars and forward-set footrests offer a relaxing ride posture. In addition, the rider also gets seat lumbar support which is very helpful for longer journeys.

    Hardware & Powertrain Setup
Coming to its hardware configurations, C 400 GT is built on a steel tube frame with an aluminum die-cast unit. This is suspended on telescopic forks at front and double shock absorbers at rear with preload adjustability. Braking duties are handled by double rotors with 4-piston calipers at front and a single rotor with a 1-piston floating caliper at rear. These are assisted by a dual-channel ABS.
BMW C 400 GT is powered by a 350cc single-cylinder, water-cooled engine which pushes out 34 bhp at 7,500 rpm and a peak torque of 35 Nm at 5,750 rpm. This unit is mated to a stepless CVT gearbox. This scooter can attain a top speed of 139kmph. More
