For illustration purpose.In terms of performance and equipment list, TVS Apache RTR 160 4V is probably the most desirable in its segment. Credit of course goes to TVS that has introduced updates at regular intervals for Apache motorcycles including RTR 160 4V. Following on the same path, TVS has now used a new exhaust for Apache RTR 160 4V.As compared to double-barrel exhaust used with current model, the new exhaust has a compact profile. It is not necessarily better visually, but certainly ensures a fresh look for the bike. Other than the new exhaust, rest of the bike is largely the same as current model. It is likely that this new model will be launched soon, ahead of the upcoming festive season.New TVS Apache Racer’s ChoiceWhile exhaust architecture can be tweaked to boost performance, it is not certain if that’s the case with the new exhaust seen with Apache RTR 160 4V. The bike already leads in power and torque output, at 17.55 PS and 14.73 Nm. This is available in Sport mode. In Urban and Rain mode, the numbers drop to 15.64 PS and 14.14 Nm. However, considering TVS’ resolve to stay one step ahead in the game, it is possible that Apache RTR 160 4V could get some performance boost. The aural experience could also be improved with the new exhaust.Talking about rivals, Hero MotoCorp Extreme 160R probably has the sportiest looking exhaust. It’s also a stubbier unit, but runs largely parallel to the ground. It’s only slightly elevated, as compared to the higher upswept angle of current and new exhaust used with RTR 160 4V. The one on Xtreme 160R comes with a sleek cover that further enhances overall look and feel. In terms of performance, Xtreme 160R makes 15.2 PS and 14 Nm.New TVS Apache Racer’s ChoiceIn case of Bajaj Pulsar N160, the bike comes with an underbelly exhaust. It has helped reduce clutter and achieve a compact profile for the bike. Bajaj Pulsar N160 is powered by a 164.82 cc motor that generates 16 PS and 14.65 Nm. All three bikes have 5-speed transmission.TVS Apache RTRR 160 4V specsSome key features of TVS Apache 160 4V include aggressive LED headlamp, sporty rear view mirrors, sculpted fuel tank, sharp engine cowl design, glide through technology (GTT) and patented double cradle chassis. The bike has a full digital speedometer with information such as gear indicator, top speed recorder, 0-60 timer and lap timer.In Sport mode, Apache RTR 160 4V can achieve a top speed of 114 kmph. In Urban and Rain mode, top speed is 103 kmph. The bike has telescopic forks at front and monoshock rear suspension. Disc variants have 270 mm and 200 mm petal disc brakes at front and rear. Single-channel Super-Moto ABS is offered as standard.Addition of new exhaust may not result in a price hike. The current model is available at a starting price of Rs 1,21,628 for drum variant. TVS & BMW co-developed this 310cc platform which benefits both companies spawning 3 BMW branded bikes and one TVS branded bike2023 TVS Apache 310 StreetAfter launching Ronin, TVS has received mixed reactions about their new bike. For starters, it doesn’t belong to a specific genre. Rather, TVS has designed it in such a way that, Ronin is a culmination of a street bike, a scrambler and a cruiser. In India, motorcycles setting their foot down in multiple boats have often tumbled.When compared with Avenger 220, Ronin comes off as not so touring friendly too. Because Avenger series is a quintessential cruiser and provides a couch-like seating experience. I kid you not. We all thought TVS missed a stark opportunity of launching a 310cc platform-based Fiero ADV we rendered recently.TVS Apache 310 StreetWhen developing this 310cc platform, both companies should have benefited equally. We don’t know the exact terms, conditions and clauses both companies settled to. But it is not a stretch to say that the BMW-TVS relationship looks to be one-sided. BMW launched G 310 R Street bike, G 310 GS ADV and recently, it also launched G 310 RR sports bike too, which was a rebranded Apache RR 310.BMW has created a whole family out of this platform, while TVS is still being a lone wolf with Apache RR 310 sports bike. But what if TVS does use this platform to create an Apache 310 Street based on BMW G 310 R? Our rendering artist Pratyush Raut has created a render to visualize this idea.2023 TVS Apache 310 StreetTVS could also make a family of products based on this 310cc platform. We have taken colour combinations from TVS’ books that are offered on Apache RR 310 and used it on our Apache 310 Street concept render. Cherry on top is a white shade that is closer to our hearts than the other two shades. What? White is cool. Ask BMW, they charge Rs. 20,000 extra for a white Apache RR 310.Specs & PricingIt gets a reverse-inclined 312.2 cc single-cylinder engine that makes 33.52 bhp of power at 9,700 RPM and 27.3 Nm of torque at 7,700 RPM. This engine is mated to a slick-shifting 6-speed gearbox. It also gets modern technology like ride-by-wire throttle which also enables creep mode.This engine is mounted on a trellis frame finished in red colour on the render like TVS would have done. To create some distinction from G 310 R, this render gets a redesigned body panel between the fuel tank and tank shrouds. This way, we could show more of the red trellis frame along with stylish Apache graphics. Personally, it looks better than the G 310 R. The golden USD forks are retained though. If launched, we can expect TVS to price Apache 310 Street Rs. 20,000 less than BMW G 310 RR which is priced at Rs. 2.70 lakh (ex-sh).2023 TVS Apache 310 StreetTVS has not officially revealed that they are actively working on an Apache Street bike based on the 310cc platform. But since BMW products are manufactured by TVS, they may be in a position to make an ADV and a street bike under Apache brand. TVS Apache 310 ADV if launched, will be powered by the same 312cc as the BMW G 310 GSTVS Apache 310 ADV As Fiero 310 – RenderTVS recently launched the Ronin scrambler-style motorcycle in India. It comes with a unique mix of characters from scrambler, cruiser and street bikes in one. It doesn’t blend together well though as it tries to place its feet (tyre, in this case) on three different boats at the same time.Ronin launch left us thinking as to why TVS did not launch an ADV, which is all the rage in India currently. So much so, that manufacturers like Honda and Suzuki are making pseudo ADVs just to go halfway at least towards the adventure-tourer genre.Compared to creating Ronin, TVS could have created an ADV motorcycle using far less resources. They could have used the current Apache 200 platform to make an ADV to rival the likes of Hero Xpulse 200 or used their Apache 310 platform and made something to take on KTM 390 ADV.TVS Apache 310 GS ADVUntil now, it was believed that TVS was not launching an ADV based on the 310 platform because BMW had one on offer on the same platform. It is on this platform that TVS had a fully faired motorcycle on offer, while BMW had a naked and ADV on offer. But with the recent launch of BMW G 310 RR, which is basically a rebadged Apache 310, it is likely that we will get to see a rebadged Apache 310 ADV, based on G310GS.TVS Apache 310 ADV As Fiero 310 – RenderRendering artist Pratyush Raut has digitally imagined TVS Apache 310 ADV, and given it the name TVS Fiero 310. BMW recently updated the colour schemes on the G 310 GS. Our render of TVS Apache 310 GS gets three shades inspired by TVS Apache RR 310. A Slick Red, which resembles the Racing Red colour, a Stealth Black resembling the Titanium Black colour TVS offers on Apache RR 310.TVS Apache 310 ADV As Fiero 310 – RenderThe third colour is something of our own imagination which we call, Minimalist White. Unlike the other two shades that play with black and red splashes on the trellis frame, tank and other places, Minimalist White is entirely blacked out: Except for the fuel tank that gets a white shade and the red frame tubes. This looks the best according to me at least as it brings out the purest colours on earth, Black, White and Red.TVS hasn’t confirmed if they have an ADV on their cards yet. But it is a glaring omission from one of the largest mainstream motorcycle manufacturers in India. If TVS goes this route and launches a rebranded BMW, it could be priced lower than the G310GS, which is priced at about Rs 3.1 lakh, ex-sh currently. More

TVS and BMW will be co-developing an electric motorcycle based on a modified version of the G310 platformTVS Apache Electric Motorcycle – RenderA few months back, TVS Motor Company revealed its plans for venturing into the electric mobility space by extending its collaboration with BMW Motorrad. This would include co-development of an electric platform that will cater to future electric scooters, motorcycles and new concepts.The two-wheeler division of the German marque has previously collaborated on development and manufacturing of its entry-level products- G310 R and G310 GS. The G310 twins are responsible for improving the market share of BMW Motorrad in India. This platform also underpins TVS’s flagship product Apache RR 310.TVS Apache Electric Motorcycle ImaginedA digital rendering of the upcoming electric motorcycle from TVS has been created by artist Pratyush Rout. This electric bike is based on a modified version of the existing 310cc platform and also looks very familiar to G310R at its first impression. However, on taking a closer look, one notices that the design artist has incorporated several subtle changes.For starters, TVS Apache Electric Motorcycle (not official name) gets a slimmer headlamp casket than the naked streetfighter from BMW. It gets a muscular faux fuel tank as G 310 R but slightly different in shape and flaunting the TVS brand logo. While G 310 R gets a single-piece step-up seat, the TVS electric motorcycle features a split seat setup. Unlike the petrol-powered bike, the battery-powered motorcycle doesn’t expose its frame apart from the lower section.TVS Apache Electric Motorcycle – RenderLike G 310 R, this rendition of the upcoming electric bike also gets blacked-out internals, thus, providing a sporty dual-tone theme. Alloy wheel designs in the Apache Electric have also been directly lifted from the G 310 R. Instead of an engine and gearbox assembly, the electric motorcycle features a large battery pack placed under the tank.Expected featuresAnother major highlight of this motorcycle is that it is powered by a mid-ship mounted BLDC motor with a chain drive to the rear wheel. Other than this, all visual highlights are comparable to G 310 R including the same handlebar, golden-coloured front forks and rearview mirrors. Aluminium finish has been provided on footpegs and the brake pedal.TVS has not come out with any specific details regarding its upcoming Apache electric motorcycle. The bike is still in its early stages of development and should only come into production around 2024. It should be laced with features like an all-LED lighting setup, a fully digital TFT instrument console compatible with TVS’ SmartXonnect function and Bluetooth connectivity. Upon launch, it could take on the upcoming Bajaj Pulsar electric or the KTM Duke electric.TVS Apache Electric Motorcycle – RenderCurrent TVS Electric offeringTVS currently retails only one electric two-wheeler under its belt in the form iQube e-scooter. Powering iQube is a 4.4kW hub-mounted BLDC motor that derives its energy from a 3.04 / 4.56 kWh battery pack. This powertrain returns 3kW power and 100/140 Nm of peak torque, depending on the variant. Claimed range is from 100-140 kms on single charge. Top speed is at 78 / 82 kmph. More

Jupiter was the most in demand TVS two wheeler in domestic market, while the Star City 125 found most buyers globallyNew TVS ApacheTVS Motor Company has noted outstanding growth in domestic markets in May 2022. Sales increased 267.64 percent YoY to 1,91,482 units in May 2022 up from 52,084 units sold in May 2021. This led to a volume growth of 1,39,398 units. On a MoM basis, sales increased 6.06 percent over 1,80,533 units sold in April 2022 leading to a 10,949 unit volume growth.Exports on the other hand dipped both YoY and MoM. Exports in the past month stood at 93,675 units, down 7.49 percent from 1,01,257 units sold in May 2021. MoM exports fell 4.26 percent over 97,843 units shipped in April 2022. The company had also resorted to a price hike in May 2022 with all prices of the company’s scooters and motorcycles increased in the range of Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,500. There was no price hike for the iQube.TVS Sales Breakup May 2022In domestic markets, it was the TVS Jupiter that received the most attention. Sales stood at 59,613 units in the past month, up 868.84 percent over 6,153 units sold in May 2021. This led to a 53,460 unit volume growth with a 31.13 percent share. Sales however, dipped MoM by 2.20 percent over 60,957 units sold in April 2022. The TVS Jupiter was the second highest selling scooter in the country in May 2022 after the Honda Activa.At No. 2 was TVS XL with sales of 35,148 units in the past month, up 392.61 percent over 7,135 units sold in May 2021 leading to a 20,013 unit volume growth and 18.36 percent share. MoM sales dipped 9.37 percent from 38,780 units sold in April 2021 when share percent had stood at 21.48. TVS Apache and Ntorq posted YoY and MoM growth to 27,044 units and 26,005 units in May 2022 respectively. This was a YoY increase of 36 percent and 499.61 percent while MoM growth was at 268.35 percent and 2.92 percent respectively over 7,342 units and 25,267 units sold in April 2022.TVS Sales Breakup May 2022Sales of TVS Sport and Radeon increased YoY by 71.15 percent and 216.12 percent respectively to 11,818 units and 9,667 units in May 2022. The two bikes however, posted 9.06 percent and 16.88 percent MoM de-growth over 12,995 units and 11,630 units sold in April 2022. The company also had Star City (6,806 units), Pep+ (6,580 units), Zest (5,435 units) and iQube (2,637 units) in the list along with RR310 and Raider of which 385 units and 344 units were sold in May 2022.TVS Exports Breakup May 2022TVS Motor was in the red in terms of exports in May 2022 with every bike in the company lineup, except for the Star City 125, posting a YoY decline in exports. Star City 125 exports were at 40,710 units in May 2022, up 18.55 percent over 34,341 units sold in May 2021 with a 43.46 percent share. MoM sales improved 7.36 percent over 37,919 units sold in April 2022 when share percentage stood at 38.75.Star City exports dipped 17.63 percent to 23,500 units in May 2022, from 28,529 units sold in May 2021. MoM sales also fell 1.28 percent over 28,860 units sold in April 2022. Share percentage dipped from 29.50 percent held in April 2022 to 25.09 percent in the past month.TVS Exports Breakup May 2022TVS Apache exports dropped YoY (-43.05 percent) and MoM (-1.28 percent) to 11,620 units while Raider exports stood at 7,452 units down from 9,141 units sold in April 2022. Exports of Sport (6,773 units), Ntorq (3,032 units), Victor (480 units) saw exports dip YoY while Sport and Ntroq performed better on a MoM basis. TVS XL exports were at 48 units in the past month, a 98.05 percent YoY decline over 2,466 units sold in May 2021 while it was a 100 percent MoM growth from 30 units shipped in April 2022. More
