2022 Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650, Cruiser Spied – Fully Loaded

2022 Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650cc / Shotgun / Cruiser – Golden ForksRoyal Enfield could be launching three new motorcycles under the 650cc motorcycle lineup – Starting with Super Meteor 650Thanks to multiple test mules spied in India and abroad, it has already been established that Royal Enfield is planning to expand its 650cc lineup. This RE segment of motorcycles currently houses two models- Interceptor and Continental GT.We also know that there are going to be multiple versions of the upcoming 650cc motorcycle from the Chennai-based manufacturer. The question arises, how many more iterations of the 650cc platform will we see in the future. It is likely that there are going to be three iterations of the 650cc models. These will be Cruiser 650, Super Meteor 650 and Shotgun 650. All three bikes will offer a low-slung cruiser-like stance with a long wheelbase and classic retro styling but the motorcycles will differ in their riding stance and characteristics. Let us look how this trio could be differentiated among themselves.2022 Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 TourerSuper Meteor will be very closely linked to Cruiser 650 as it borrows part of its name from the brand’s current 350cc cruiser- Meteor. In fact, after reports of ‘Super Meteor’ name being trademarked by Royal Enfield surfaced on the internet, it was speculated that Super Meteor 650 and Cruiser 650 could actually be the same motorcycle. However, we could spot noticeable differences in latest spy shots.2022 Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650cc / Shotgun / Cruiser – Silver ForksThe most prominent difference is the riding posture which features a slightly lower-set handlebar which leads to a slightly committed posture with centre-set footpegs. The rider triangle will be different in this case with the less angular distance between the steering and front suspension. Hence, the wheelbase is also expected to be slightly shorter.New spy shots of the RE Super Meteor 650 were clicked somewhere in the UK. These show the motorcycle in production ready stance. There are three different test mules, which can be differentiated by the front forks. One is wearing silver forks, the other has golden while the third one has black. All three RE 650cc test mules are fully loaded with touring accessories.Expected engine, hardware specsHowever, other than the ergonomic variations all three motorcycles will be the same underneath the skin. This includes the same 648cc parallel-twin motor which pumps out 47 bhp at 7150rpm and 52 Nm at 5250rpm in the current 650 Twins. However, in the upcoming bikes, the power figures or power delivery could be altered to suit their nature. It is mated to a constant-mesh 6-speed gearbox.2022 Royal Enfield Cruiser 650 – USD ForksCycle parts of all three upcoming bikes will be identical to each other. Suspension setup will consist of a pair of upside-down forks or standard forks at front and twin shock absorbers at rear. Braking duties include single disc brakes at both ends with ByBre callipers aided by a dual-channel ABS as standard. All three bikes should feature the Tripper NAvigation pod for turn-by-turn navigation.Cruiser 650This will be a proper cruiser motorcycle in a similar line with cruisers from Harley Davison and Indian Motorcycles. It will have the longest wheelbase among the three bikes with a greater angle between steering and front suspension. This will also affect the rider’s triangle which will offer very relaxed riding ergonomics with a pulled-back handlebar, forward-set footpegs and a low seat.Shotgun 650As mentioned earlier, Shotgun 650 is likely to be based on the SG650 Concept which is a single-seater bobber. Like Meteor 350, it is expected to offer a low-set handlebar with a slightly committed ride posture. However, the most striking difference will be the sole rider’s seat. Other small differences could be shorter front and rear fenders and bar-end mirrors.Source More

Royal Enfield 650 INT Gets A Scrambler Makeover – The Real Highness

Royal Enfield 650 ModifiedThis mod job has been presented in two different formats and colour schemes; more variations possible based on customer specificationsFor customization projects, one of the preferred options is Royal Enfield motorcycles. Their simple architecture allows bike modifiers a free hand to experiment with various ideas and concepts. In a recent project, two Interceptor 650 motorcycles have been transformed into powerful-looking scramblers. The project has been executed by Delhi-based Neev Motors.650 scrambler modification detailsMuch of the customization is common across both modified bikes. For a beefier look and feel and for improved traction, the bikes have been fitted with balloon tyres. A number of components have been blacked out such as headlamp, turn signals, engine assembly, wheels and exhaust. A custom-made leather seat has been used, which comes in a quilted pattern.Front and rear fenders have been replaced with customized units. Tail section has been shortened and the grab rail has been removed. To ensure the bikes remain usable even in the rainy season, a custom built rear tyre hugger has been added. Another key change is the custom-made exhaust with sporty mesh-type insert. The custom exhaust is a lightweight unit, around 12 kg lighter than the stock version. This will improve performance with a higher power to weight ratio. The exhaust has extra loud output, significantly higher than the stock unit. It is not sure if it would be street legal. In recent times, traffic police have been taking strict action against illegal modifications including loud exhausts.Royal Enfield 650 ModifiedTalking about individual aspects, one of these bikes gets a grey and black colour scheme. It has been aptly named as ‘falcon’. Changes that are specific to falcon include a tank plate and 3D elements on side panels. For a cleaner front section, the instrument pods have been moved to the right side.Second bike utilizes a combination of red and black. It comes with classic leather bags on the sides and a leather pouch with straps mounted on the fuel tank. Colours on both bikes have been entirely repainted. That everything has come out in perfect finish highlights the superior skills of the modifier.650 scrambler modification costIn this modification project, around 50-60% of the bike’s parts and accessories have been modified. This is excluding core components like engine, chassis, suspension and braking, which have been retained in their original form. With a high level of customization and aftermarket components, cost of this project is minimum Rs 2 lakh for each bike. This is around 2/3rd of Interceptor 650 price, which starts at around Rs 3 lakh.A good thing about this project is that much of the customization can be reversed if the user feels the need for it. This ensures that users don’t need to get stuck with something they no longer want. To get their own ideas implemented, enthusiasts can contact the bike modifier. More

    Royal Enfield 650cc Bobber SG650
Royal Enfield showcased the SG650 bobber concept at the 2021 EICMA show in Italy last year. It looks like the Bobber version of the Super Meteor 650. The test mule that has been spied, has its rear fully covered.

2022 Royal Enfield Shotgun 650cc Bobber

    Mechanical Specs & Features
Powering Shotgun will be a familiar 648cc parallel-twin motor that already propels Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. This power mill kicks out 47 bhp and 52 Nm of peak torque and is paired with a 6-speed gearbox via a slipper and assist clutch.
Differences arise in the hardware department where Shotgun 650 is seen suspended on upside-down forks at front instead of conventional telescopic forks on the other 650 Twins. Royal Enfield 650 Conti GT Gets Belstaff Makeover – Black And White

Royal Enfield 650 Conti GT Belstaff EditionJust like Royal Enfield, Belstaff has been making significant contributions to motorcycling world since several decades
While Royal Enfield builds the rides, Belstaff equips the rider with a range of riding gear and accessories. Founded in 1924, UK-based Belstaff supplies motorcycling gear such as jackets, trousers, boots, gloves and moto accessories.
To celebrate Royal Enfield’s 120th anniversary and their mutual interests, both companies have tied up for a special partnership. The collaboration extends across various fronts including development of a Belstaff branded Continental GT. This has now been unveiled in UK.
    Belstaff branded Continental GT details
This project focuses on cosmetic enhancements. Belstaff-branded Continental GT gets a dual-tone theme of black and white. The white shade can be seen on the fuel tank, seat mount, and side panels. Belstaff logo in white and matching design in black are there on the front section of fuel tank.
To establish a strong connect with the ride and rider’s clothing, the bike gets special fabric seat cover in quilted pattern. It has Royal Enfield 120th anniversary branding and a small label with British flag. This fabric has also been used for fuel tank knee pads. Top section of fuel tank gets the fabric highlight as well with Royal Enfield 120th anniversary and Belstaff branding.
Royal Enfield 650 Conti GT Belstaff Edition
Shades of white used on the bike create an exciting contrast with the blacked-out bits. A number of components have been blacked-out such as engine, gear and brake levers, and rear suspension. For a more refined look, chrome bits have been removed from various parts such as headlamp and tail lamp. Most other components such as handlebar, fork gaiters, front fender, exhaust and wheels appear to be largely untouched.
Changes introduced with Belstaff branded Continental GT look absolutely stunning. They are also practical and can be introduced in the form of a special edition. A limited edition, at least, can surely work for enthusiasts. This new theme looks refreshing, as compared to existing colour options of Rocker Red, Mr Clean, Dux Deluxe, British Racing Green and Ventura Storm.
However, Royal Enfield says that Belstaff branded Continental GT is “just a one off special”. But enthusiasts could always get it done via a customization shop. Original Belstaff fabric may not be accessible, but finding matching ones shouldn’t be a big problem.
Royal Enfield 650 Conti GT Belstaff Edition
Belstaff branded Continental GT – No Hardware changes
Cycle parts are the same for Belstaff branded bike. Royal Enfield Continental GT is powered by a 648cc, parallel twin motor that generates 47 bhp of max power at 7,150 rpm and 52 Nm of peak torque at 5,250 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed constant mesh gearbox.
The bike utilizes a tubular steel frame with bolted trussing, integrated with 41mm front forks and twin coil-over shocks at rear. It has 18-inch spoke wheels at both ends. Braking duties are performed by 320 mm and 240 mm disc at front and rear, respectively. Dual-channel ABS is offered as standard. More

Royal Enfield 650 Interceptor Spied With Single Side Exhaust

New Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 With Single Side ExhaustA new Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 test mule has been spied testing – Which has a single side exhaust
In the 650cc segment, Royal Enfield offers the Interceptor and the Continental GT. Both these motorcycles are the best selling motorcycles in the segment in the country. They are also the only 650cc motorcycles which are made in India and exported around the world.
These flagship motorcycles have been on sale for a few years now. While it still carries a very minimalistic approach and is far from the sophisticated technologies offered in modern premium machines, it also gets some useful features not seen before from the Chennai-based manufacturer. Earlier this year, they did get a minor update. But it still missed out on features like tripper navigation, which was first introduced on the Meteor 350 last year, and on the Classic 350 in Sep 2021.
    2022 Royal Enfield 650 Update
It is likely that Royal Enfield will dish out more updates to the 650 Twins in 2022. Apart from adding Tripper Navigation system, RE could also update the exhaust system. Instead of the twin exhaust setup (one on each side), RE could offer a single side exhaust system, as seen in the latest test mule that was spied near company plant in Chennai.
The motorcycle remains same – twin cylinder 650cc. It is only the exhaust system, which will be routed via a single end-can, instead of the double end-can in current 650 RE. It is not clear as to why Royal Enfield is testing a new exhaust system with single end-can. Many customers who are buying the RE 650, want the dual end-can exhaust.
New Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 With Single Side Exhaust
There could be some benefits though, of the single side exhaust. Reducing the exhaust end can to just 1, will help reduce the weight by a few kgs. The upswept end-can of test mule will reduce the width of the motorcycle, allowing ease of riding in traffic or in tight spaces. It will also be easier to caliberate as well as source – especially in these times of global parts shortage.
    Tripper Navigation
Other update expected on board the 2022 650 Twins, is the Tripper Navigation system. This offers turn-by-turn navigation as standard across the range. Meteor 350 was the first bike to be laced with such a feature. It is now also on offer with Classic 350 new gen.
The Tripper comes in two parts- the pod beside the instrument cluster and the mobile app. While the pod acts as a face, the app acts a brain which essentially means that the rider enters coordinates of the location in the app and the display pod shows turn-by-turn instructions of the route.
New Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 With Single Side Exhaust
The app displays information from Google Location and Maps by making use of the smartphone’s processing power as well as GPS for navigation. Using this app also means that navigation won’t be compromised even outside the network coverage area. The display pod not only provides navigation commands with arrows and distances but also captures the rider’s attention by flashing the arrows when a turn approaches close.
With the arrows gradually filling in when turn approaches, it gets caught in the rider’s peripheral vision which tells the rider to take appropriate action without getting distracted from the road. Royal Enfield will eventually offer this on all their current as well as upcoming new motorcycles.
