      With a price tag of Rs. 3.2 lakh, one might argue that KTM 390 Duke is not at all value for money. If you look at it to commute from point A to B, yes. It is not a good value for the price. But motorcycles like 390 Duke are not just about getting to point B, it is all about the way it gets there.
      With exceptional power : weight ratio and price : performance ratio, KTM 390 Duke is in a league of its own. This is the bike’s main draw. For 90% of the world’s motorcycle enthusiasts, this is capable of being the only motorcycle in their garage. KTM has revamped this pocket-friendly rocket and ahead of the official launch, first photos have leaked online.
      2024 KTM 390 Duke Leaks
      This is not the first time a new 390 Duke is spotted. We have seen camouflaged test mules regularly. But this is the first time that an undisguised photo of the new gen Duke 390 has been shared. This sheds new light on the motorcycle allowing us to get a better understanding of the design and equipment on offer.
      Even though the design has seen some changes, it still looks unmistakably like a KTM product. 2024 Duke 390 is sporting orange-coloured wheels with blue colour shade on the tank. KTM might offer white wheel colour, depending on a multitude of colourways. The next obvious design change is the subframe. It looks like it was heavily inspired by its bigger siblings like 790 or 890 Duke.

      Alloy wheels and front disc rotors are new. Rotors are now mounted directly to the alloy wheels. Calipers are radially mounted too. WP USD front forks are likely to be retained. Engine casing is new too, which is a clear indication of a new engine architecture.
      Earlier spy shots revealed that the swingarm is new, rear suspension duties are now tasked to an off-set mono-shock unit and there is a new tail light design. Other notable features include an underbelly exhaust, sharper headlight design, and large angular tank shrouds that extend to the front suspension giving it a lot of muscle to flex on its competition.
      2024 KTM 390 Duke – Price & Launch
      The new KTM 390 Duke is expected to displace close to 373 cc as before. It will be a single-cylinder oil-cooled unit making around 45 bhp and 40 Nm of torque as opposed to the outgoing model’s 42.9 bhp and 37 Nm. Weight can go up slightly as opposed to the 172 kg of the outgoing model.
      The 390 Duke is a very popular motorcycle around the world. New 390 Duke is expected to pack in an even more impressive power : weight ratio than before. We also expect improved electronics and driver aids along with a quick shifter, a larger fuel tank, improved traction, larger brakes, new infotainment display with more features, etc. When launched, it will compete with BMW G310R and Honda CB300R. Launch is likely to happen in the coming months. 2024 KTM Duke 390 prices are likely to remain same as current 390 Duke, in the Rs 3.2 lakh ex-sh range.

      KTM India Sales Feb 2023 – Duke, RC, 125, 200, 250, 390 ADV

      Total sales for KTM in the month of February 2023 stood at 14,509 units with 54.86% YoY growth and 29.79% MoM growth2023 KTM 390 ADVKTM has had a rather fruitful month during February 2023 where sales are concerned. In exports, KTM registered a strong 8,666 units. When compared to 5,016 units it shipped a year ago and 6,982 units it shipped a month before, KTM saw 72.77% YoY growth and 24.12% MoM growth as opposed to January 2023.KTM Domestic and Exports – Feb 2023KTM 390 series (Duke + RC + ADV) stormed the exports charts taking the top spot with 5,056 units shipped, accounting for 58.34% of total exports. A staggering 158.62% YoY growth and 15.86% MoM growth was observed, with 3,101 units and 692 units gained in volume YoY and MoM. In 2nd place, surprisingly, we have 125 series with 1,578 units shipped.KTM Domestic Sales Breakup Feb 2023Even though 125s (Duke + RC) saw 892.45% YoY growth, MoM analysis revealed a 27.21% decline, with 590 units lost in volume, accounting for 18.21% of KTM’s total domestic sales. Close to it is 200 series (Duke + RC) with 40.03% YoY decline and an astounding 3209% MoM growth. Lastly, we have 250s (Duke + ADV) with just 642 units shipped, registering 9.93% YoY growth and 57.35% MoM growth.In domestic market, KTM’s popular products have been the 200 series. That was true in February as well. 200s sold 3,254 units last month with 40.38% YoY growth as opposed to 2,318 units sold a year ago and 53.64% MoM growth as opposed to 2,118 units sold a month before. 200s hold 55.69% of total domestic sales for KTM.KTM India domestic sales market share Feb 2023At 2nd place, we have 250 series with 1,650 units sold, accounting for 28.24% of KTM’s total domestic sales. There was a 15.79% YoY growth and 41.03% MoM growth. Next in line is 390 series with 629 units sold. This class of motorcycles has had a paradigm shift with 1555% YoY growth as opposed to just 38 units sold last year.KTM Exports Breakup Feb 2023Unlike gaining 2nd spot in exports, 125 series don’t really sell in India owing to their value proposition (or the lack thereof). With just 310 units sold, a 45.8% YoY decline and 154.1% MoM growth was observed. In total, KTM sold 5,843 units in India. As opposed to 4,353 units sold a year ago and 4,197 units sold a month before, KTM registered 34.23% YoY growth and 39.22% MoM growth with 1,490 units and 1,646 units gained in volume YoY and MoM respectively.KTM India exports market share Feb 2023KTM Total Sales Feb 2023In total (domestic+exports), KTM sold 14,509 units in February 2023. As opposed to 9,369 units sold in February 2022 and 11,179 units sold in January 2023, KTM registered 54.86% YoY growth and 29.79% MoM growth. Volume growth stood at 5,140 units YoY and 3,330 units MoM. Topping the charts is 390 series with 5,685 units comprising of Duke, Adventure and RC ranges.KTM India Total sales Feb 2023A 185.25% YoY growth and 10.37% MoM growth was observed when compared to 1,993 units sold a year ago and 5,151 units sold a month before. Sales dipped 9.55 percent YoY to 4,197 units in Jan 2023, down from 4,640 units sold in Jan 2022. It was a formidable machine where touring and mild trailing are concerned. That said, customers who craved more off-road worthy hardware can now rejoice with the 2023 KTM 390 Adventure.2023 KTM 390 Adventure RevealedKTM is offering the one element that was asked for the most. Wire-spoke rims. These rims fare better in off-road conditions as they have a better shock absorbing and dissipating capability as opposed to alloy wheels. Braking consists of single disc setups at both ends clasped by BYBRE hardware with a 4-pot caliper at front. Weight is 172 kg including 14.5L of fuel.Pricing for the same is not yet announced. It is unsure when it will launch in India. We can expect a slight price bump for the Spoke Wheeled edition over the standard model. While the latter is likely to be priced as is.
