KTM 390 Adventure, Adventure X Price Hike Up To Rs 27k – GST Buffer Ends

    New KTM 390 Adventure X
KTM has officially increased prices for two of its popular ADV motorcycles — the 390 Adventure and the 390 Adventure X — after absorbing the GST-linked cost burden for the past couple of months. This comes following the implementation of GST 2.0, which raised the tax rate on motorcycles above 350cc from 31% to 40%.
When GST 2.0 was rolled out, Bajaj Auto had announced that it would temporarily absorb the impact for all KTM and Triumph models above 350cc. That move helped KTM maintain aggressive pricing and deliver record sales last month. However, with the buffer period now over, revised prices have been rolled out.
The revised pricing pushes both ADVs notably higher, widening the gap once again with the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. Over the last couple of months, the price difference had narrowed significantly thanks to KTM’s GST absorption.
KTM 390 Adventure, Adventure X Price Hike
Other KTM 390 Models Remain Unchanged — For Now
As of today, the 390 Duke, RC 390, and the soon-to-launch 390 Enduro have not received a GST-driven price revision. However, industry expectations suggest that a hike is inevitable as KTM adjusts its portfolio to the new tax structure.
Impact on KTM 390 Range Sales
The KTM 390 lineup has been performing strongly, especially after the price stability KTM maintained during the GST transition. However, the latest hike may slow momentum in the short term. In a market as price-sensitive as India, a Rs 20,000–27,000 jump is substantial — particularly when rivals like the Himalayan 450 and Yezdi Adventure continue to operate in a relatively stable price band.
390 Adventure range may still attract enthusiasts who prioritise performance and features, but casual buyers or first-time ADV seekers could now lean toward more affordable alternatives. If similar hikes follow for the 390 Duke and RC 390, overall volumes for the 390 platform could face pressure in the coming months. More

Honda Super ONE Prototype Track Drive – The Tiny EV That Thinks Like a Hot Hatch

Honda Super ONE PrototypeHonda recently flew us to Japan for an exclusive look into its future—new products, new tech, and a clear roadmap for India. But the biggest highlight of the trip wasn’t inside a hall at the Japan Mobility Show. It was outside Tokyo, at the Honda Tochigi Proving Grounds, where we finally got behind the wheel of the Super ONE Prototype, Honda’s upcoming compact EV designed to redefine everyday mobility.
A Compact EV Built to Be Fun – Not Just Efficient
And after driving it on Honda’s private test track, one thing is clear: This is not a typical small electric car. This is a tiny EV with the heart and behaviour of a sporty hatchback. The Super ONE Prototype will go on sale first in Japan in 2026, followed by the U.K. and select Asian markets. This A-segment EV is based on Honda’s idea of “e: Dash BOOSTER”—a car that makes even your daily commute feel fun and engaging.
    Honda Super ONE Prototype
Honda has used a reworked version of its N-Series lightweight platform, widened significantly with a broader tread and flared fenders. The moment you turn the steering wheel, the prototype reacts instantly. No delay, no softness—just direct, clean response. The battery is placed flat and low in the center of the car, giving it:
    – One of the lowest centres of gravity in its class– Outstanding responsiveness to steering inputs– Surprising stability in corners for something this small
    Honda Super ONE Prototype
On the Track: Light, Agile, and Shockingly Stable
At Tochigi, Honda let us drive the Super ONE Prototype on the handling course—tight bends, long sweepers, sudden direction changes. Unlike most small EVs that feel upright and appliance-like, the Super ONE feels balanced, athletic, and surprisingly confidence-inspiring. Within minutes, the car’s dynamic personality becomes obvious:
    Honda Super ONE Prototype
    – It feels playful and eager, like a go-kart with Honda engineering finesse.– The stiffened chassis and widened stance deliver remarkable composure, even during quick lane changes.– The low-set battery keeps the car planted, letting you push harder than you’d expect from an A-segment EV.
The Magic Trick: Boost Mode + Simulated 7-Speed Gearbox
This is where Honda pulls off something unique—something we’ve never experienced in a small EV.
    Honda Super ONE Prototype
Boost Mode – A mode created exclusively for this car. Engage it, and the Super ONE suddenly wakes up:
    – Power output increases noticeably– Acceleration becomes sharper– Simulated engine sound fills the cabin– Virtual 7-speed gearbox kicks in with realistic shift behaviour
    Honda Super ONE Prototype
Honda has engineered this simulation beautifully. The system calculates gear position, virtual RPM, throttle input, and vehicle behaviour in real time. It’s playful, addictive, and genuinely engaging. This is not a gimmick—it’s Honda’s way of bringing ICE driving emotion into the EV era. You actually feel:
    – Kickdown shocks– Rev-matched virtual downshifts– Fuel-cut sensation during coasting
    Honda Super ONE Prototype
    Who Is It For?
Honda says the Super ONE is for people who want a compact, city-friendly EV but also want something that feels alive. It’s meant for everyday Japanese and European urban environments—but with an emotional, spirited driving character rarely seen in small EVs. In short, this is a car that makes short trips exciting and long trips enjoyable.
    Battery / Specs
While Honda hasn’t officially revealed the battery or motor specifications for the Super ONE, we believe it packs a far more performance-oriented setup than the electric N One e it’s based on. Both cars share the same wheelbase, front-wheel-drive layout, and much of the underlying structure — but that’s where the similarities end. The Super ONE gets wider tyres, a significantly broader track, and a reworked steering system, making it more driver focused.
    Honda Super ONE Prototype
The chassis has been widened and stiffened, the suspension reinforced, and the steering rack quickened — all pointing toward a more athletic character. For reference, the N One e uses a 29.6 kWh battery and a 64 PS motor with 160 Nm of torque, but the Super ONE clearly delivers stronger performance. Battery size could be a little bigger, but the tuning and motor output are expected to be noticeably more potent, giving the Super ONE the lively, playful behaviour we experienced on the track.
    Will It Come to India?
Honda is evaluating multiple EV options for India, including the Super ONE’s platform. But the Super ONE itself is not confirmed for our market yet. However, after experiencing the Super ONE on Honda’s Tochigi test track, it’s clear that this is not just another compact EV — it’s a personality-packed, fun-to-drive, premium small car unlike anything currently sold in India. And that’s exactly why Honda should seriously consider launching it here. Our market has no truly exciting, high-quality, city-friendly EV in this size or format; everything either feels too basic or too large for our traffic conditions.
    Honda Super ONE Prototype
The Super ONE, with its low centre of gravity, sharp steering, playful character and Boost Mode theatrics, would be perfect for Indian roads — quick, manoeuvrable and genuinely enjoyable even at low speeds. More importantly, bringing this model to India would do wonders for Honda’s brand image. For years, enthusiasts have been waiting for Honda to bring back something youthful, emotional and ride-focused. The Super ONE could be that turning point — a product that reminds people what made Honda special in the first place, while also aligning with India’s fast-growing EV push. If Honda gets the pricing right, this could become one of the most talked-about urban EVs in the country. More

Honda Fireblade SP and Rebel 500 Removed From Website – Discontinued?

Honda Fireblade SP and Rebel 500 Discontinued?Since there is no official notification, it is unclear why the two bikes have been removed from Honda’s website
Honda had launched the Rebel 500 in India earlier this year in May at a starting price of Rs 5.12 lakh. This was the first time the Rebel 500 was introduced in the Indian market. In comparison, versions of Honda CBR1000RR-R have been available in India for several years. The latest model, Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP, was reintroduced in India in September 2025. Interestingly, both bikes have now been removed from Honda’s website. Let’s check out the details.
Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP, Rebel 500 removed from website
It is not clear why exactly Honda has removed the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP and Rebel 500 from its website. One possibility is that these bikes were available in limited numbers for the Indian market. This is often the strategy used for premium bikes that are imported as completely built units (CBUs). These are imported in batches and may face an out-of-stock situation in case all available units are already booked.
In this situation, the OEM may choose to temporarily remove such products from their website. It is possible that the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP and Rebel 500 have been removed from the website, as the available units may be sold out. In that case, the bikes may reappear, as and when the stocks are replenished. However, there is no official confirmation.
    Honda CB1000RR-R Fireblade SP
There could be some technical reasons too or supply chain issues that may have prompted the removal of CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP and Rebel 500. Earlier this month, Honda had also removed the CB300R from its website. In this case also, it is not clear if the bike has been discontinued or a new version is being planned. Low sales could also be a reason for the discontinuation of Honda CB300R.
Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP, Rebel 500 – Performance, specs
Powering the Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP is a 999cc, liquid-cooled inline-four engine that generates 215 hp and 113 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and equipped with a bi-directional quickshifter and ride-by-wire throttle. The bike utilizes a lightweight aluminium diamond frame, which helps enhance the bike’s power-to-weight ratio.
Users can access a wide range of electronic rider aids such as a six-axis IMU. It has functions such as launch control, wheelie control and multi-level traction control. Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP utilizes Brembo Stylema callipers and Ohlins suspension at the front and rear. The bike rivals the likes of Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R and BMW S 1000 RR.
    Honda Rebel 500
Honda Rebel 500 gets power from a 471cc liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, 8-valve, parallel twin-cylinder engine. It generates 45.60 hp and 43.3 Nm of torque and is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The bike has telescopic front forks and Showa dual shock absorbers at the rear. Braking setup comprises 296 mm and 240 mm disc brakes at the front and rear, respectively. Dual-channel ABS is offered as standard.
With a seat height of just 690 mm, the Honda Rebel 500 is designed for optimal control and handling. It can be easy to manoeuvre even at slow speeds. In the Indian market, Honda Rebel 500 competed with the likes of Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 and Kawasaki Vulcan S. More

Yamaha XSR 155 vs Rivals Compared – Duke, Xtreme, Jawa, Hunter, Ronin

2025 Yamaha XSR125Yamaha has just launched a new neo-retro offering based on the R15 platform. Called XSR 155, this bike was long awaited and highly anticipated. It is here now for a price tag of Rs 1.5 lakh (Ex-sh), positioned below R15 and MT-15. By ethos, XSR 155 rivals KTM 160 Duke priced at Rs 1.71 lakh (Ex-sh).
If you are looking at the 160 Duke, Hero offers Xtreme 250R for Rs 1.66 lakh (Ex-sh), making it the bargain of the decade. If we go by neo retro approach and the Rs 1.5 lakh price point, Yamaha XSR 155 also rivals Jawa 42, Royal Enfield Hunter 350 and TVS Ronin. Let’s see where XSR 155 falls on paper against these rivals.
    KTM 160 Duke
    Yamaha XSR 155 vs Rivals
Starting with powertrains, one thing is immediately evident that it is Hero Xtreme 250R with the highest power at 29.6 bhp, while XSR 155 has the lowest power figure of 18.1 bhp. However, one has to account weight and the power : weight ratio puts XSR 155 ahead of its immediate rival 160 Duke, Ronin and Hunter 350. It trails behind Xtreme 250R and Jawa 42.
Yamaha XSR 155 vs Rivals – Compared
XSR 155 also has the lowest torque figures as well. Except for Hunter 350 and Ronin, all bikes in the list are liquid-cooled and get a 6-speed gearbox. All bikes offer a slipper clutch, though. XSR 155 has special attributes like TCS and VVA, while the rivals like Xtreme 250R and 160 Duke offer more wow factors.
    Hero Xtreme 250R
Wheelbase is the shortest with XSR 155, which should make it a good handler and Hunter 350 has the longest wheelbase. Surprisingly, Yamaha XSR 155 ground clearance is just 120 mm, as per company’s spec sheet. Highest ground clearance is offered by Ronin at 181 mm. Seat height is the lowest with Jawa 42, while XSR 155 emerges as the lightest bike in this comparo, which makes it very appealing.
    Jawa 42
The largest fuel tank is offered with TVS Ronin at 14L, while XSR 155 has the smallest at 10L. Only Jawa 42 and Hunter 350 offers wire spoke wheels with base variants and the fattest tyre combo is offered by Xtreme 250R. Except for Hunter 350 Retro variant, all offerings get rear disc brakes as standard. Dual channel ABS is standard only with XSR 155, Xtreme 250R and 160 Duke.
    2025 Royal Enfield Hunter 350
    Premium Components
XSR 155, Xtreme 250R, 160 Duke and Ronin offer USD front forks as standard with rear mono-shock, while Jawa 42 and Hunter 350 only offer RSU front forks and rear twin-shocks. Where lighting is concerned, only Jawa 42 and Hunter 350 (Retro) get halogen headlights and turn indicators while others get LED ones.
    TVS Ronin TD Special Edition
Only the Hunter gets a semi-digital cluster, while all others have switched to digital instrumentation. Excluding Jawa 42, all get LCD units with Bluetooth connectivity. Navigation feature can only be seen with KTM, Hero and TVS. Royal Enfield offers an optional Tripper screen for this function. Only the TVS Ronin offers riding modes and adjustable levers. More

The variant with the smaller battery pack has a 170 kW / 231 PS motor, whereas the variant with the larger battery pack generates 210 kW / 285 PS. Torque output of 380 Nm is the same for both variants.
    Mahindra XEV 9S
Range of the upcoming XEV 9S has not been revealed. However, one could expect a real-world range of over 500+ km. Mahindra XEV 9S could be launched at a starting price of around Rs 21 lakh. Fully loaded top variants could touch Rs 30 lakh. More

Honda CB1000 Hornet SP Recalled in India – Free Fix from January 2026

    Honda CB1000 Hornet SP
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has announced a voluntary market recall campaign for select units of its premium CB1000 Hornet SP. The recall aligns with a global service action and affects motorcycles manufactured in 2025.
    What’s the Issue?
According to Honda, excessive radiant heat from the exhaust system may soften the painted seat surface, which can indirectly cause the gear change pedal pivot bolt to loosen over time and potentially fall off. If this happens, riders may experience difficulty or inability to shift gears—a safety concern especially during high-speed or urban riding.
    Free Repair From January 2026
As a precaution, Honda will inspect and replace the affected parts free of cost, irrespective of the motorcycle’s warranty status. The recall work will be carried out exclusively at Honda BigWing Topline dealerships across India starting January 2026. Honda says this proactive move reinforces the brand’s focus on customer trust, safety and ownership experience.
How Owners Can Check if Their CB1000 Hornet SP Is Affected
Honda and its BigWing dealers will contact customers via call, email and SMS starting today. Additionally, owners can check their VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) on Honda’s official website. To avoid delays at dealerships, Honda advises customers to book their service appointment in advance.
Honda CB750 Hornet packs a 755cc inline twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that delivers 90.5 bhp and 75 Nm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox and slipper clutch, along with four riding modes — Sport, Standard, Rain and User. Sitting above it, the flagship Honda CB1000 Hornet SP uses a 999cc inline four-cylinder motor producing 155 bhp and 107 Nm, equipped with a slipper clutch, bi-directional quick-shifter, Honda Selectable Torque Control and five riding modes for a more performance-oriented setup. The CB1000 Hornet SP was launched in May this year, when it was priced at Rs 12.36 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. More
