Yamaha FZ-X Dual ABS Launch Soon – New Colour, Golden Alloys Spied

The TVC shoot for new FZ-X is going on in Kerala and a launch is likely to happen in the coming days2023 Yamaha FZ-X Dual ABS Launch SoonYamaha has a lot planned on their table right now. Yamaha chairman Eishin Chihana has previously stated that RX brand will return in 2026 or beyond and will feature an engine larger than 100cc. The company is also set to bring some of its big bikes like R7, MT-09 and an electric scooter along with them. But Chihana has hinted before that the company is more focused on the 125cc to 150cc segment and might consider launching an ADV in this space as well. It was speculated that it would be based on an FZ-X. Before that happened, Rushlane’s sources revealed that FZ-X is on the verge of being refreshed for MY2023.2023 Yamaha FZ-X Dual ABS Launch SoonYamaha FZ-X is the company’s attempt to take on neo-retro category with its tried and tested 150cc platform. As a result, we got an FZ-X with a circular headlamp with integrated DRL and a projector unit. It has more beef than regular FZ to offer a muscular stance, while the latter is marketed as a street bike in the commuter segment. For the 2023 update, the main highlight would be dual-channel ABS which used to be just single-channel ABS along with a twin pot-caliper at front. By doing this, Yamaha New FZ-X is the first 150cc motorcycle in India to come with a dual channel ABS option. The closest motorcycle that provides dual channel ABS option is Bajaj Pulsar N160.2023 Yamaha FZ-X Dual ABS Launch Soon – Golden AlloysAlong with improved braking, Yamaha will be offering golden-coloured alloys that we saw with FZS 25 and FZ FI before. FZ-X never received this treatment for its alloy wheels. Instead, Yamaha offered black rims along with pin-striping. With the 2023 Yamaha FZ-X, we now get golden-coloured alloy wheels that might not be to everyone’s taste. Lastly, the new FZ-X will feature a new colour. Details of this colour are not yet known.Specs & FeaturesDonning a neo-retro look, FZ-X is underpinned by the same platform and engine as FZ FI. Displacing 149 cc, this engine makes 12.2 bhp of power and 13.3 Nm of torque. A 5-speed gearbox is offered which regulates power to touch a claimed 115 km/h top speed. New FZ-X for MY2023 will remain unchanged mechanically.Except for new dual-channel ABS, rest of the componentry is kept identical as well. It remains to be seen if Yamaha is offering dual-channel ABS as standard or as an option with FZ-X. Owing to new hardware, there will be a price increment.Currently, it gets three colour options, Metallic Blue, Matt Copper and Matt Black and prices start from Rs. 1.35 lakh (ex-sh) which gets Bluetooth connectivity as well. New FZ-X will be launched in a few days and might be priced from Rs. 1.4 lakh (ex-sh). More

    Yamaha Launches In 2023 – Neo’s Electric Scooter, ADV 250cc, R7

Even though MT-07 was not seen in recent teaser, it could very well be one of upcoming launches from Yamaha in 2023Yamaha E01 Electric ScooterGlobally, Yamaha has an extensive portfolio that is spread across varied segments. If you look at the company’s portfolio in India, there are no budget commuter motorcycles or scooters on offer. Yamaha only has premium commuters and above and premium 125cc scooters and above. For a principle like this, one would think that Yamaha would bring its slew of big bikes in India. But that is not the case. Yamaha’s flagship in India is YZF-R15, a sporty 150cc machine. As far as displacement is concerned, 250cc is the max and there is a big void in the company’s EV realm as well. For 2023, upcoming launches from Yamaha are set to fill some voids, while some are likely to still be wide open. Yamaha is set to bring at least one EV, some of its big bikes and expand its quarter-liter motorcycle portfolio in India. Let’s take a look.Yamaha FZ-X25Everyone loves nostalgia and if there is a motorcycle that evokes it in them, it is an instant hit. This is exactly what Royal Enfield brings to the table and is by far the most dominating player in the Neo-retro motorcycle segment. Some new entrants have tried to grab a piece of this pie as well. We have Honda CB350, Jawa, and Yezdi.Off-road FZ-XEven though Yamaha is bringing the legendary RX moniker back, it will materialise in 2025 or beyond. In the meantime, we are likely to get a 250cc version of FZ-X. Also, an ADV based on FZ-X with its 150cc or 250cc engine.Neo’s Electric ScooterEver since they were displayed to dealers in India, launch of Yamaha’s electric scooters was pretty much expected. Which one, was the main question. There were two electric scooters showcased, E01 and Neo’s. Of the two, Neo’s is the one that is more likely to make it to India as opposed to E01 maxi-styled electric scooter. When launched, prices might go north of Rs. 2 lakh.Yamaha R7Even though we wish for the launch of R1, we are still glad that a big bike from Team Blue is becoming a reality after ages. Yamaha YZF-R7 is the spiritual successor of R6 and has split opinions across the world as R7 misses out on a 4-cylinder symphony.Yamaha R7Instead, R7 gets a 689 cc inline twin-cylinder engine that makes 73 bhp of power and 67 Nm of torque. With only 188 kg to lug around, R7 is a potent middle-weight sport motorcycle. A price upwards of Rs. 9-10 Lakh is expected when launched in 2023.MT-09 & MT-07Recently, Yamaha teased R7 and MT-09 officially. Yamaha is not only bringing its 700cc portfolio to India, but also its 900cc equipped MT-09. In the teaser, MT-07 was not present and hence, is less likely to make it to India. MT-07 is essentially a street naked version of R7.Yamaha MT-09 with TN number platesHowever, MT-09 is an entirely different animal. Powered by an 890cc, inline 3-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that dishes out close to 120 bhp and 93 Nm of torque. This will take the battle to new Ducati Monster and 2023 Triumph Street Triple R. Yamaha 150cc Adventure Motorcycle Launch Planned For India

Keeping costs in mind, new Yamaha ADV can just be a pseudo one that is based on FZ-X and not a full-blown off-roader like WR 155R2023 Yamaha Crosser 150cc ADV image for illustration purposeYamaha is yet to launch an ADV in the Indian market. Not that Yamaha lacks ADVs and off-roaders in its arsenal. They have many on offer in the international market. Just that India has missed out on an ADV from Team Blue.Speaking about ADV motorcycles on sale in India – At the lower end of the spectrum, we have seen that ADVs and off-roaders have sprung up a lot lately. With Xpulse 200 being the go-to off-roader, we also have CB200X from Honda. There is wiggle room for an ADV from a mainstream manufacturer that would slot between Xpulse and Himalayan.Yamaha 150cc Adventure MotorcycleYamaha seems to have understood this and has recently revealed that a 125cc to 155cc ADV is under consideration. According to a recent report, Yamaha is planning to launch a premium ADV based on an engine with displacement ranging from 125cc to 155cc. Yamaha India Chairman, Eishin Chihana said that ADVs are in focus, owing to its massive popularity in the country. He added that Yamaha India is considering possibilities of an ADV within the 125cc to 155cc space. This narrows down the search to FZ-X based pseudo-ADV and WR 155R, which is a proper off-roader. WR 155R is one of the best off-road tools in Yamaha’s arsenal and is said to be a proper hoot.Yamaha FZ-X modified ADV by Zero CustomsIt has a 155.1cc engine that makes around 16 bhp of power and 14 Nm of torque. It gets 21” front and 18” rear spoke wheels shod with dual-purpose tyres. Add to it long travel suspension and a 245 mm ground clearance, the trail would go on as long as its 8L fuel tank would allow. If Yamaha considers this, it would be a lot more expensive than Xpulse 200 4V.If Yamaha is serious about launching an ADV in India, we would wager that it would be a pseudo-ADV based on the currently sold FZ-X. We recently covered an ADV based on FZ-X recently which won a customisation challenge held by the company. Something similar to that, has a good chance of making it to production.Legendary RX100 Will Be BackThe prospect of a pseudo ADV based on FZ-X is not very exciting. What is exciting though, is that Yamaha RX100 would be back with an ICE engine. Only this time, it would don a bigger engine than 100cc.This way, Yamaha will match the upcoming RX motorcycle with OG RX100 in terms of performance and character. Next gen RX100 will launch in a few years. Yamaha’s ADV might launch before that.Source More

New Yamaha Augur 155cc Scooter Debuts – Engine From R15, Aerox

If launched in India, Yamaha Augur Maxi Scooter will rival its sibling Aerox 155 and Aprilia SXR 1602023 Yamaha Augur 155cc Scooter DebutsIndia has a few performance-oriented scooters, apart from Yamaha Aerox 155. Some of them are TVS NTORQ and Aprilia SR 160. These were pitted as sporty scooters to appeal to younger gen who do not want commuter scooters. As sporty as they are, Yamaha Aerox 155 quickly established itself as the go-to performance scooter in India. It featured tech like VVA, liquid cooling and more which the scooter segment in India has never heard of before. Being one of the few maxi-scooters helped its cause even further.New Yamaha Augur 155cc ScooterWith demand for maxi-scooters on the rise in many parts around the world, Yamaha has unveiled yet another maxi scooter. Called Augur 155cc, it is similar to Aerox 155, but is completely different in its character and functionality. Let’s take a look. With a radical design, Yamaha Augur looks like something that came out of a Cyberpunk world. Up front, we have a new fairing that has a distinct alienist face. There are multiple body panels and all of them converge towards the centre where Augur’s LED projector headlight is housed. This is not just a regular headlight. It gets LEDs in them to illuminate the road.2023 Yamaha Augur 155cc Scooter DebutsThis headlight is very advanced, considering that it is installed in a scooter. For one, the headlight gets variable colour temperatures, yellow and white, for varied road conditions. Secondly, it gets tilt functionality which lights a secondary light towards the corner to illuminate the corner before taking a turn. This is similar to cornering headlights found in cars.2023 Yamaha Augur 155cc Scooter DebutsOther features include a 4.3” colour TFT display that gets connected functionalities like turn-by-turn navigation and check engine parameters like engine oil and battery status via phone App. Traction control, ABS, Keyless ignition, and other features complement its radical and futuristic design.Augur 155cc Scooter SpecsYamaha Augur maxi scooter features the same 155cc engine derived from R15 V4. This engine makes 14.79 bhp of power and 13.9 Nm of torque and comes equipped with a 4V head, liquid cooling and VVA tech. Aerox 155 gets a 230mm front disc and rear drum brake setup in India. Yamaha Augur maxi scooter gets a 267mm front disc with twin-pot caliper and a 230mm rear disc brake.2023 Yamaha Augur 155cc Scooter DebutsSuspension duties on Augur are handled by telescopic forks up front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. Aerox 155 gets 14” alloy wheels at both ends while Augur gets 13” alloys. Augur gets a fatter front tyre at 120 section as opposed to 110 on Aerox. Rear tyre on Augur is 130 section, while Aerox gets 140.Augur gets a larger 6.1L fuel tank as opposed to 5.5L on Aerox. Owing to all this equipment, Augur weighs 132 kg and is heavier as opposed to 126 kg of Aerox 155 sold in India. Despite being largely similar to Aerox 155, Augur gets a step-through floor board which enhances practicality ten fold. Whereas Aerox 155 gets a center tunnel.[embedded content][embedded content]Yamaha India has not revealed any plans on introducing this in India. That said, we think it would be a brilliant alternative to Aerox 155 owing to its enhanced practicality and technology. More

Next Gen Yamaha RX100 Will Be Powered By A Bigger Engine

Yamaha has confirmed that they are working on launching new gen RX 100 – But this time, it will be powered by a bigger engineOld gen Yamaha RX100If there is one motorcycle from Yamaha that has captivated Indian audiences like no other, it is RX100. Yes, RD350 exists. But it was not bought by a wide range of customers. RX100 was the people’s champion when it comes to 2-stroke pocket rockets. A motorcycle so iconic, Yamaha still supports the platform by providing spare parts.Yamaha RX100 had to be discontinued from India, despite it being an icon. Due to its 2-stroke engine, it has unreal performance when 100cc engines are concerned and is an absolute blast to ride. Nostalgia and craze have kept the RX100 flame alive in India even today – years after it was discontinued.Next Gen Yamaha RX100Re-igniting that flame, Yamaha India Chairman, Eishin Chihana had revealed before that RX100 is making a comeback. According to him, the RX100 name was kept as is and was not used on any other motorcycle till now. This was done deliberately as the company has plans to revive this icon back to its former glory. It is pretty obvious that Yamaha won’t be bringing back OG RX100’s 2-stroke engine owing to stringent BS6 Phase II emission norms. Also, it is pretty evident that Yamaha is taking its sweet time to bring RX100 back as they can’t just slap that iconic name on just any other product and call it a day.Image For Reference By – EIMOR CustomsIt has to look right, it has to feel right, it has to perform right as well. A recent report reveals that Yamaha is considering a larger engine for RX100 revival. That is because they can’t recreate OG RX100 levels of performance from a modern 100cc engine without breaking the bank. Yamaha India Chairman said that RX100 holds a strong sentiment among Indians due to its design, sound and performance. A combination of which caused the excitement. To maintain the OG RX100 image, it has to offer adequate performance. He revealed that a larger displacement engine will create that original impact. What To Expect?Yes. You read that right. Upcoming Yamaha RX100 won’t be a 100cc machine. It is not yet known which engine might make it to the upcoming RX motorcycle. Yamaha currently has 125cc engines in their scooters and might take TVS’ approach while making Raider 125. Yamaha has 150cc and 250cc engines which are less tech-savvy and a 150cc engine with a lot of tech.Any of those engines might make it on to the upcoming Yamaha RX100. But, there is a possibility that Yamaha is aiming at Royal Enfields with its iconic RX moniker. Imagine Yamaha’s 250cc engine being bored out to displace 300cc or 350cc. With OG RX100’s looks and a modern 300cc to 350cc engine, it would be an absolute weapon against Royal Enfield motorcycles. We say this because RX100s touched more lives in the past than Royal Enfield motorcycles have. An RX300 or an RX350 might evoke even more nostalgia. If Hero MotoCorp made a CD300 or CD350 based on the upcoming XPulse 300+ engine with square headlights, I would buy one in a heartbeat. Whatever Yamaha is cooking, will be ready by 2026 or beyond.Source More
