    Looking at this FZ-X Off-Road version, it begs the question if this is what FZ-X should have been from day oneZero Customs Modded Yamaha FZ-XDo you want an affordable Japanese ADV? Well, get in line, because there are a lot of us that want to see something like that happen. One might say that Honda CB200X exists. When we compared that to Hero XPulse, an actual ADV, it falls short in capability. Credits where credits due, It is an absolute looker, though.From Suzuki, we have V-Strom 250 SX, which does a far better job than CB200X by offering at least one mechanical change over its Gixxer platform. Change in the form of a 19” front alloy wheel that will slightly enhance the trailing experience. Yamaha has been mum about this segment till now.Yamaha FZ-X Off-Road Version SpottedSeen in front of a Yamaha dealership, is an off-road version of FZ-X commuter. Before a chocolate laddu explodes in your mind, this is not a production-spec model. We apologise for bursting your short-lived bubble. It is what it is. Yamaha has kept most of its global products away from India. That being said, this tempting bike seems to be from Yamaha’s customisation challenge from last year.This was done by Zero Customs. There’s another custom bike standing in front of it. Only its tail is visible which pays tribute to classic bikes of yesteryear. It has a clean tail section and gets ribbed tyres that exude a classic bike feel.Zero Customs Modded Yamaha FZ-XHardware-wise, it gets a lot of bits from actual ADVs like Royal Enfield Himalayan and Hero XPulse 200. Himalayan’s tail-section is immediately recognisable. It gets Himalayan’s seats, taillights, grab-rail, rear fender and more. This Yamaha FZ-X Off-Road version is a far cry from what it originally was when it comes to off-road capability. Right off the bat, it gets wire-spoke wheels shod with knobby off-road tyres. Wheel sizes aren’t known, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it was the exact same wheels as XPulse or Himalayan.Suspension has been given an upgrade. Looking at the ground clearance, we can say for sure that it is far more lifted than what Yamaha originally intended. Suspension unit seems to be borrowed from XPulse as the front forks look similar. Speaking of front, FZ-X’s projector headlight setup is retained and now gets a windscreen that is from a Himalayan.Off-Road HardwareYamaha FZ-X Off-Road version retains its fuel tank which adds a lot of muscle. Front fenders, side body panels and handlebar look like they’re custom. We can also spot a tubular frame on either side of its headlight. This is designed to hold the headlight unit as it doesn’t turn with the handlebar. Just like a Himalayan.Yamaha FZ-X Off-Road SpottedEngine is likely to be stock. However, exhaust isn’t. It is a custom job to reroute exhaust from under the seat. Side saddles complete the look of an ADV. Finished off in a tangy orange shade, Yamaha FZ-X Off-Road version looks ravishing. More

    Yamaha Sales Breakup Sep 2022 – R15, MT15, FZ, Fascino, RayZR

    Yamaha Domestic sales stood at 56,939 units and exports stood at 25,185 units with YoY growth and a drop in sales MoM in both areasYamaha MT15When Yamaha’s domestic and exports are analysed, we see good growth YoY. The same can’t be said when we look at its sales MoM. Kicking things off with FZ, which is Yamaha’s highest-selling motorcycle lineup in India. It sold 20,453 units in September 2022 over just 4,550 units sold in the same time last year.With a volume gain of 15,903 units, FZ registered an astonishing 349% YoY growth and 5.05% growth MoM with a volume gain of 984 units over 19,469 units sold the month before. FZ commands a 35.92% share in its total domestic sales. Next, we have Fascino with 10,348 units sold in India and saw a drop of 27.35% YoY and 13.09% growth MoM.Fascino has 18.17% domestic market share. Despite premium pricing, R15 sold 9,550 units and fell in the red completely with a drop of 19.01% YoY and a drop of 2.49% MoM. Yamaha’s sporty scooter, Ray ZR also follows R15’s path and falls in the red completely. Ray ZR sales almost halved YoY with 8,143 units sold in September 2022 over 16,121 units sold previous year.Yamaha Sales Breakup Sep 2022MT15 managed to sell 8,102 units and registered 222.28% YoY growth over 2,514 units sold last year. MoM sales dropped by 14.51%. Lastly, we have FZ25 which only sold 343 units last month and saw a 78.04% YoY drop and a 46.82% drop MoM.Yamaha Sales Breakup September 2022 – YoYYamaha’s exports fare slightly better YoY when compared to domestic sales. FZ leads the exports just like it did with domestic sales. With 10,103 units shipped, FZ witnessed 52.40% YoY growth and a 24.86% drop MoM. FZ constitutes 39.76% of total Yamaha exports which used to be 48.05% in August 2022.Crux managed to ship 3,408 units, which saw an 88.91% YoY growth with 1,604 units gained in volume YoY. Even in MoM analysis, Crux shows positive growth of 59.25% and gained 1,268 units in volume. Ray ZR and YD125 shipped 3,349 units and 3,300 units respectively and registered a positive growth of 20.82% and 120% YoY and lost 22.99% and 15.38% MoM.Exports Dropped MoMSZ used to be on offer here in India. Now, it is only shipped to global markets. Yamaha shipped 1,912 SZs in September 2022 over 1,368 units shipped last year and saw 39.77% YoY growth with volume growth of 544 units. With 1,816 units shipped in August 2022, SZ saw 5.29% MoM growth. FZ25 fell into the red in both YoY and MoM analysis.Yamaha Sales Breakup September 2022 – MoMR15 and Saluto shipped 1,074 units and 600 units respectively. While R15 registered 103.41% YoY growth and a drop of 41.05% MoM, Saluto fell completely into the red with a 39.76% drop YoY and a 32.13% MoM drop. MT15 shows very interesting results. With just 1 unit shipped in September 2021 and 232 units shipped last month, MT15 saw 23,100% YoY growth and with 80 units shipped in August 2022, Mt15 saw 190% MoM growth.Fascino only shipped 1 unit this month as opposed to 390 units the month before, registering a 99.74% MoM drop. Saluto RX and Alpha shipped zero units. Total Domestic sales stood at 56,939 units and exports stood at 25,185 units with YoY growth and a drop in sales MoM in both areas. More

With 43,390 units sold in September 2022, Yamaha registered a 6.58% YoY growth over 40,710 units sold in September 2021 and gained 2,680 units in volume.When it comes to MoM analysis, Yamaha falls in the red with 46,148 units sold in August 2022 with a 5.98% MoM drop in sales and lost 2,758 units in volume. Yamaha’s market share stood at 4.27% in September 2022. With a slight setback, Yamaha has braced itself for the all-important festive season.Yamaha has kept itself busy and has generated headlines with Yamaha India Trackday at BIC for R3, R15, MT15, Aerox and FZ owners. For the month of October 2022, Yamaha is creating headlines again. This time, for a different reason, though. A price hike. Let’s take a look.Yamaha Oct 2022 Price HikeLast known price hike was at the beginning of August 2022. That one was a comprehensive hike that affected most of Yamaha’s portfolio except for drum brake equipped models of Fascino. Yamaha October 2022 hike doesn’t affect a lot of products. Only a handful.Yamaha Motorcycles Price Hike October 2022Yamaha’s FZ-FI, FZS-FI and FZS-FI Deluxe are exempt from this price hike. All these motorcycles are powered by a 149cc single-cylinder engine making 12.2 bhp of power and 13.3 Nm of torque. This is a fairly basic engine that only gets air-cooling and is coupled to a 5-speed gearbox. Range starts from Rs. 1,13,700 for FZ-FI (ex-sh, Delhi).We have FZ-X, which is a neo-retro derivative of FZ-FI that we covered in the previous paragraph. It is a visually different machine from FZ-FI and its variations. FZ-X gets a price hike of Rs. 1,000. Prices now start from Rs. 1,33,900 which used to start from Rs. 1,32,900. This price hike for FZ-X accounts for an increment of 0.75%.FZ 25 and FZS 25 are bigger siblings in FZ range in India. Powered by a 249cc single-cylinder engine, FZ 25 makes 20.51 bhp of power and 20.1 Nm of torque. FZS 25 is a stylized variant of FZ 25. Both FZ 25 and FZS 25 now get a price hike of Rs. 1,000 each. Prices start from Rs. 1,47,900, which used to start from Rs. 1,46,900.Yamaha Scooters Price Hike October 2022Scooters Don’t Get Any HikeBoth R15 and MT 15 are at the premium end of 150cc motorcycles spectrum. Both are powered by a 155cc single-cylinder engine making 18.14 bhp of power and 14.1 Nm of torque. This engine is coupled to a 6-speed gearbox and gets modern features like liquid cooling, VVA and more. MT 15 gets Rs. 500 price hike in October 2022. Prices now start from Rs. 1,64,900 for regular MT 15 V2 and 1,65,900 for Monster Energy MotoGP Edition. Prices used to start from Rs. 1,64,400 before price hike.Lastly, we have M version of R15 V4 and World GP 60th Anniversary Edition based on M version of R15 V4, which got a Rs. 1,000 price hike each. Pricing for R15M now is Rs. 1,89,900, which used to cost Rs. 1,88,900. R15M WGP 60th Anniversary Edition costs Rs. 1,91,300, which used to cost Rs. 1,90,300. The client had wanted a more dynamic look and feel for TMax, along with performance improvements. All these requirements were successfully met through the use of custom-made as well as aftermarket components.Yamaha TMax Titan custom bike has much of the plastic bodywork removed. This required a complete teardown of the maxi-scooter to begin with. In its place, the bike gets handmade panels made from aluminium. Incredibly sleek finish of the handmade bodywork indicates the massive amount of elbow grease that has gone into this project.Yamaha TMax Scooter ModifiedWhile the front fascia looks familiar to Yamaha R1, the rest of the bike was modified based entirely on the bike modifier’s imagination. Customized Yamaha TMax gets an exciting dual-tone theme of Porsche 911 GT3RS green and Lotus yellow accents. This colour theme complements the bike’s sleek profile.Yamaha TMax Titan functional upgradesModified TMax gets larger 17-inch wheels, taken from an Aprilia RSV4. These not only improve ride dynamics, but also enhance the bike’s street presence. Change of wheels has been followed up with upgrading the braking apparatus with ABS.  Stock belt drive system has been replaced with a chain drive system to support more rugged performance.Other key updates include Rizoma Stealth mirrors that are functionally and aesthetically relevant. These units reduce drag and ensure easy viewability. Saddle has also been upgraded, featuring a custom-made unit from NMB Design. Its design is inspired by Porsche and Lotus. The dashboard has been completely revamped, although all the stock functions have been retained.     Yamaha Sales Aug 2022 – FZ, RayZR, R15, MT15, Fascino, FZ25

    Yamaha has reported a YoY and MoM increase in domestic sales and exports in August 2022 with the FZ and RayZR being most in demand in both marketsImage – VineethYamaha Motor India sales in the past month saw an 8.54 percent YoY growth in domestic sales to 58,659 units, up from 54,042 units sold in August 2021. MoM sales on the other hand increased 7.30 percent from 54,666 units sold in July 2022. However, none of the bikes in the company lineup found mention on the list of top 10 motorcycles sold in August 2022.Exports also increased YoY by 33.63 percent to 30,689 units from 22,965 units sold in August 2021 while MoM exports improved by 10.65 percent from 27,734 units shipped in July 2022. In August 2022, the company had also introduced a price hike across range by 0.62 percent to 1.59 percent depending on model.Yamaha Domestic Sales August 2022On the domestic sales list, it was the Yamaha FZ that commanded the most attention. Sales stood at 19,469 units, up 155.90 percent from 7,608 units sold in August 2022. This was a volume growth of 11,861 units with a 33.19 percent share. MoM sales also grew by 2.53 percent from 18,988 units sold in July 2022.At No. 2 was the RayZR with a 36.98 percent YoY de-growth to 10,124 units in August 2022 from 16,064 units sold in August 2021. MoM sales improved by 25.87 percent from 8,043 units sold in July 2022. These were the only two models in the company lineup to post sales above the 10,000 unit mark. Yamaha R15 posted YoY and MoM growth at 2.13 percent and 4.65 percent respectively to 9,794 units in August 2022. This was against 9,590 units and 9,394 units sold in August 2021 and July 2022 respectively.Yamaha India Sales Aug 2022 vs Aug 2021 (YoY)YoY and MoM sales growth was also seen in the case of Yamaha MT15 with improved 440.92 percent to 9,477 units in August 2022 up from 1,752 units sold in August 2021. The company had sold 8,380 units in July 2022 relating to a 13.09 percent MoM growth.While Fascino posted a YoY de-growth at 49.27 percent to 9,150 units from 18,037 units sold in August 2021, MoM sales also fell by 2.38 percent from 9,373 units sold in July 2022. FZ25 on the other hand reported a YoY de-growth by 34.91 percent but a MoM growth of 23.33 percent to 645 units.Yamaha Exports August 2022With YoY and MoM growth in global markets, it was the Yamaha FZ that saw the most sales on the company portfolio. Sales increased 46.31 percent YoY to 13,326 units from 9,108 units exported in August 2021 with a 4,218 unit volume growth and a 43.42 percent share. MoM exports improved by 21.23 percent from 10,992 units shipped in July 2022.Yamaha India Sales Aug 2022 vs Jul 2022 (MoM)RayZR saw exports dip YoY by 15.75 percent from 5,162 units to 4,349 units while MoM exports increased by 33.73 percent over 3,252 units shipped in July 2022. Yamaha YD125 exports last month stood at 3,900 units, up 4 percent MoM from 3,750 units sold in July 2022. The company also shipped 2,140 units of the Crux and 1,856 units of the FZ25 both of which saw a YoY growth but MoM decline in exports while R15 exports were at 1,822 units seeing a 110.88 percent YoY and 58.71 percent MoM growth.There were also 1,816 units of SZ shipped in the past month along with 884 units of Saluto,390 units of Fascino, 126 units of Saluto RX and 80 units of the Yamaha MT.     2023 Yamaha XMax 300cc Scooter Spied – Honda Forza Rival

    In terms of exterior design, the XMax 300 test mule spotted overseas appears largely the same as current model2023 Yamaha XMax 300ccAs there’s hardly any difference in the skin, it’s likely that Yamaha may be focusing on upgrading the equipment list offered with XMax 300. For example, some new features could be introduced. Another possibility is a new variant, but it’s too early to accurately define such possibilities.Some key features of Yamaha XMax 300 maxi-scooter include an aggressive front fascia, full LED lighting, large windscreen, comfortable riding stance, step-up seat, chunky exhaust and large underseat storage. XMax 300 is preferred for its powerful performance and agile handling, all while offering the comforts typically associated with a scooter.2023 Yamaha XMax 300 to get quieter exhaust?While it’s not clear why XMax 300 is out there on road tests, it may have something to do with upcoming European Union noise restrictions. The official EU statement says that the existing Euro 5 noise limits will be revised and implemented as a separate act. The quantum of changes in noise limit and when exactly it will be implemented is yet to be finalized.However, as OEMs work in a proactive manner, Yamaha may have started working on the exhaust note of XMax 300 even before the new rules are enforced. XMax 300 currently has a throaty exhaust note, which may not comply with the new noise limits. Updated Euro 5 noise limits may take some time to implement, as OEMs and their suppliers will need to make multiple changes. Subsequently, these will need to be tested for reliability and performance in addition to the compliance part.2023 Yamaha XMax 300ccA cost-benefit analysis for different sound levels and their associated practicality and efficacy is currently being evaluated by the European Association of Motorcycle Manufacturers (ACEM). As per existing Euro 5 regulations, motorcycles with 175cc engines and above are required to have a noise limit of 80 decibels.Focus is on two-wheelers, as these are among the major contributors to noise pollution. European Union wants to have quieter cities, which is where the revised noise limits will be playing a crucial role. Enforcement of the new noise limit rules will be done with the help of noise radars that are already functional in European cities like Paris.2023 XMax 300 specs unchangedWhile the upcoming version of XMax 300 may be quieter, there are unlikely to be any major changes to the hardware. It may be possible to comply with updated Euro 5 noise limits just by introducing some changes to the exhaust setup. Yamaha XMax 300 is powered by a 292cc, liquid cooled motor that generates 28 PS of max power at 7,250 rpm and 29 Nm of peak torque at 5,750 rpm. It is mated to a V-belt automatic transmission.Suspension system comprises telescopic forks at front and swingarm unit at rear. Both ends have disc brakes, 267 mm front and 245 mm rear. Other key features of Yamaha XMax 300 include traction control system (TCS), smart key with remote locking, 12V outlet at front and white-on-black LCD instrument console. Upon launch, 2023 Yamaha XMax 300cc will take on the Honda Forza 300.Source More
