It is possible that launch was delayed due to the pandemic. Now, a new product is scheduled to be unveiled on August 23, 2023. Based on teasers, it is expected to be the production version of Creon concept electric scooter.TVS has released a new teaser that gives hints about the scooter’s front fascia. It appears to be a lot sportier in comparison to existing iQube. With words like ‘thrill’, TVS could be hinting at a performance-oriented premium lifestyle product. If that’s the case, TVS new electric scooter will take on rivals such as Ola S1 Pro, Ather 450X and Simple One.TVS Creon-based electric scooter – new detailsUpcoming new electric scooter from TVS will have a vertically positioned headlamp. As may be recalled, Creon concept e-scooter had a similar setup. The scooter will have a dominating street presence, similar to that of maxi-scooters. In the teaser, one can also get hints of the sporty apron, DRLs and indicators. More details will be revealed in the coming days.It remains to be seen how much of the original Creon concept is retained in the production version. As revealed at the 2018 Auto Expo, Creon e-scooter had sharp panelling, wide handlebar, blacked-out headlamp casing, sporty graphics, dual-tone colour and sleek tail section. It will have multiple themes, that can be customized as per your mood. There is also remote lock and unlock feature via connected apps. Teaser also shows screen with the number 105, which could be the top speed of this new TVS electric scooter.TVS Creon-based electric scooter performanceAt the time of its unveil, the original Creon concept was equipped with a 11.76 kW motor. It was claimed that the scooter could accelerate from 0 to 60 kmph in 5.1 seconds. That number may have been good enough back then. But a lot has changed in the last five years.New TVS Electric scooter – Remote lock / unlockFor example, Ola S1 Pro takes just 4.5 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 60 kmph. Similar performance is achievable with Simple One as well. Assuming that TVS is looking to raise the bar with its new electric scooter, things like acceleration, top speed and range will have to be among the best in segment.Talking about top speed, Ola S1 Pro can reach 116 kmph in Warp mode. Simple One and Ather 450X have top speed of 105 kmph and 90 kmph, respectively. In terms of range, Simple One leads the pack with 212 km. Ola S1 Pro is next with 181 km. Ather 450X can ride 146 km on a full charge. TVS is likely to be looking at a similar set of numbers for its upcoming electric scooter. More

TVS Raider 125 Super Squad EditionThe Rs. 98,919 (ex-sh) for TVS Raider 125 Super Squad Edition puts it below top-spec SX variant that sports a 5″ TFT screen with SmartXonnect suiteRaider 125 is one of the most appealing products in the 125cc segment. It is the only one with a 3V head and the only one with an oil-cooling setup (without a radiator). More brownie points are in the form of a new 5” TFT instrument display that is unheard of in its segment and a few segments above it.TVS is now adding more value to the equation through a strategic collaboration with Marvel. Raider 125 now gets two different Super Squad Edition variants. TVS has priced them both at Rs. 98,919 (ex-sh). TVS’ media release doesn’t specify what trim the company is launching Super Squad Edition with.TVS Raider 125 Super Squad Edition – Iron ManTVS Raider 125 Super Squad Edition LaunchedStandard Raider 125 costs Rs. 95,219 for base Single Seat variant, Rs. 96,219 for Split Seat variant and Rs. 1,01,570 for top-spec SX variant (all prices are ex-sh, Delhi). All variants get front disc brake. Only the top-spec SX variant gets the 5” TFT screen with TVS’ proprietary SmartXonnect connectivity suite as standard fitment.Going by these prices, it is likely that TVS Raider 125 Super Squad Edition is a stylised version of Split Seat variant. So, Super Squad Edition is probably missing TVS’ famed instrument cluster. The same strategy is in place with Ntorq 125 scooter as well. Where the twin-screen SmartXonnect system is not on offer with Super Squad Edition.TVS Raider 125 Super Squad Edition – Black PantherWhat Super Squad Edition does get, is for buyers to show their affiliation in terms of their favourite Marvel character. TVS seems to be targeting Gen Z buyers among whom Marvel Cinematic Universe is a hot topic owing to the series of blockbuster movies and TV shows that air from them.As of now, TVS is offering just two Super Squad Edition versions with Raider 125. They are Iron Man and Black Panther inspired versions. Raider 125 now gets new graphics that signify either Iron Man or Black Panther. TVS could launch similar versions with Thor, Captain America and Spider-Man in the future as well.Avengers, assemble!Mechanically, Super Squad Edition variants are identical to standard Raider 125. We’re talking about the same 124.8cc 3-valve, single-cylinder engine with an innovative oil cooling setup. 11.2 bhp of power and 11.2 Nm of torque along with a 5-speed gearbox is identical to the standard model. Popularity of Marvel Universe characters is unmatched, and offers a unique proposition to buyers to express their interests and affiliation.Now, the company is trying to bring the same ethos with its Raider 125 premium commuter motorcycle. TVS has teased the same on its social media platforms. We can see two variations in the teaser, but there could be up to five Super Squad Editions with Raider 125.Marvel’s Prelude – TVS Raider Super Squad MystiqueAs per the Super Squad routine with Ntorq 125, we can expect up to five variations with Raider 125 as well. Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Black Panther and Spider-Man inspired liveries and colour schemes could be the main attraction with Raider 125 Super Squad Edition.TVS doesn’t call them Iron Man Edition, Spider-Man Edition, Thor Edition, Captain America Edition and Black Panther Edition. This could be owing to licensing of word trademarks and only licensed character designs and other symbol trademarks.TVS calls Iron Man edition as Invincible Red, Thor edition as Lightning Gray, Captain America edition as Combat Blue, Black Panther edition as Stealth Black and Spider-Man edition as Amazing Red. Base colours will replicate respective character’s costume colour scheme. And respective colours will get decals of that character’s special attributes.Other than visual enhancements, Raider 125 will remain mechanically identical to outgoing model. This way, TVS offers proven mechanicals along with a dash of individual expression with the integration of Marvel Universe characters.Mechanics – similar to outgoing modelTVS Raider 125 is the most feature-loaded offering in its segment. Tech-savvy too. In June 2023, TVS sold 34,309 Raider 125 motorcycles in India and shipped 4,434 of them abroad. Raider 125 shares its 3-valve 124.8cc single-cylinder engine with Ntorq scooter. Instead of a CVT, Raider 125 gets fixed ratio gearbox with five cogs.Currently, Raider 125 makes 11.2 bhp of power and 11.2 Nm of torque. It gets conventional RSU telescopic front forks and a 5-step preload adjustable rear mono-shock. Front disc brake and a rear 130mm drum brake are standard. As of now, TVS is offering three variants and two colour options.Only the top-spec SX trim gets a TVS-proprietary SmartXonnect connectivity suite. Of course, we’re talking about TVS Jupiter scooter which regularly features in highest-selling 2W vehicle list. Jupiter is second to only Honda Activa in terms of scooter sales.Now, TVS is fortifying its scooter lineup better challenge Activa. Now, Jupiter gets SmartXonnect Bluetooth-based connectivity suite with Drum brake version of ZX trim too, which was not the case before. Said TVS Jupiter ZX Drum SmartXonnect variant costs Rs. 84,468 (ex-sh, Delhi).TVS Jupiter ZX Drum SmartXonnect VariantThis move made Jupiter ZX Drum SmartXonnect variant, the most affordable Bluetooth equipped model in TVS’ lineup. These new colours are visually pleasing and will enhance the overall appeal of this scooter.Olive GoldJupiter comes equipped with a fully digital instrument cluster that shows a host of information with the help of TVS’ proprietary SmartXonnect system. These connected features enhance rider’s experience in many ways. TVS offers Jupiter in both 110cc and 125cc engine options and primarily competes with Honda Activa. The 110cc engine is capable of 7.77 bhp of power and 8.8 Nm of torque, while 125cc engine will kick out 8.05 bhp of power and 10.5 Nm of torque. More

New TVS iQubeTVS iQube e-scooter has seen sales surpass the 1.5 lakh unit mark since its debut in January 2020TVS Motor Company sales improved both on a YoY and MoM basis in July 2023. YoY growth was reported both across 2 wheeler and 3 wheeler segments in domestic markets, though exports suffered de-growth. Total 2W and 3W sales (domestic + exports) improved by 3.60 percent to 3,25,977 units in July 2023, up from 3,14,639 units sold in July 2022 relating to a 11,338 unit volume growth. On a MoM basis, sales grew by 3.20 percent from 3,16,411 units sold in June 2023.TVS 2W Sales and Exports July 2023In domestic markets, 2W sales growth was reported across motorcycles, scooters, and moped, to a total of 2,35,230 units in July 2023, up 16.48 percent from 2,10,942. 2W exports however dipped 21.12 percent YoY to 77,077 units in July 2023 from 97,716 units sold in July 2022.TVS Motor Sales July 2023 vs July 2022 – YoY performanceMoM domestic sales remained more or less flat with a 0.26 percent de-growth from 2,35,833 units sold in June 2023. MoM exports increased by 12.41 percent from 68,568 units shipped in June 2023. The 2W segment currently commands a 75.32 percent share.Motorcycles saw a 2.40 percent YoY and 3.87 percent MoM growth in sales in July 2023 to 1,53,942 units. There were 1,50,340 units sold in July 2022 and 1,48,208 units sold in June 2023 respectively. Scooter sales also improved 4.67 percent YoY and 0.48 percent MoM to 1,21,941 units while sales of the iQube electric scooter surged by 111.07 percent on a YoY basis to 13,306 units from 6,304 units sold in July 2022. MoM sales saw a 7.99 percent de-growth from 34,829 units sold in June 2023.TVS Motor Sales July 2023 vs June 2023 – MoM performanceMoped sales also improved 10.99 percent YoY and 4.58 percent MoM to 36,424 units. MoM sales improved by 13.82 percent from 12,010 units sold in June 2023.3W domestic sales were higher by 4130.68 percent YoY to 1,534 units in July 2023 from 665 units sold in July 2022 while MoM sales saw a 6.97 percent growth over 1,434 units sold in June 2023.  Exports on the other hand fell YoY by 15.23 percent to 12,136 units in the past month from 14,316 units shipped in July 2022. MoM exports improved by 14.75 percent from 10,576 units shipped in June 2023.Total 2W+3W sales saw a 16.86 percent growth on a YoY basis to 2,36,764 units in July 2023 from 2,02,607 units sold in July 2022 while MoM sales fell marginally by 0.21 percent from 2,37,267 units sold in June 2023.
