TVS Ronin Spied Testing In Indonesia – Launch Soon?

TVS Ronin Indonesia TestingIn Indonesia, TVS Ronin spotted testing could signify a potential launch and fortify its presence even further by appealing to a wider audienceTVS Ronin is one of the company’s newest motorcycle. It had quite a mixed reception at launch as it was trying to cater to multiple genres at once. These genres include a scrambler, a cruiser and a street bike. It primarily rivals Royal Enfield Hunter 350 and to some extent, Dominar 250 and offers quite a unique proposition.TVS seems to be expanding its export envelope by shipping Ronin to ASEAN markets. Recently, a TVS Ronin spotted testing in Indonesia. This might be a strong indication of TVS’ intentions of launching Ronin there. Let’s take a look.TVS Ronin Indonesia launch soon?As of now, PT TVS Motor Company Indonesia offers Neo XR and Rockz in Moped series, Callisto, Ntorq, Dazz and XL100 in Matic series and Apache RTR 200 4V, Maxx and Maxx Semi Trail in Sport series. Ronin could be a worthy addition to the Sport series and be the new flagship there, offering slightly more performance than Apache RTR 200 4V.TVS Ronin spotted testing in a fuel station in Karawang, Indonesia. This is where PT TVS Motor Company has its manufacturing facility. KDW Motoblog posted these images for the first time. We can see a TVS Ronin motorcycle with some cladding on its fuel tank and other TVS branding covered in black duct tape.TVS Ronin Indonesia RearRonin’s LED DRL signature is very unique and nothing else out there looks like it. So, it is immediately identifiable as a Ronin. That said, the ones seen in Indonesia and Indian models are not identical, down to the last detail. For starters, there seems to be a different catalytic converter in the Indonesia-spec model’s exhaust system. This might be due to the fact that India has adopted the BS6 emission standard which is directly comparable to EURO 6 emission standards. While Indonesia still follows EURO 4 standards.Same powertrain, different power figuresBecause of this less-obtrusive catalytic converter, there is likely to be an increase in performance. We’re talking about around 5% to 10% higher power and torque figures as opposed to the Indian-spec model. Speaking of, 20.1 bhp of power and 19.93 Nm of torque in BS6 guise from a 225.9cc single-cylinder engine with oil-cooling and slipper clutch. Gearbox is a 5-speed unit.TVS Ronin Indonesia near Karawang plantOther than that, certain black elements on India-spec models like on front fender and exhaust cover, are silver in Indonesian models. Componentry like 41mm USD telescopic front forks, rear mono-shock, 130-section rear and 110-section front 17” tyres, dual-channel ABS, off-set circular instrument cluster, LED lighting are common between the two.TVS Ronin boasts impressive power delivery in lower RPMs. Looks are subjective, but TVS Ronin has its own charm too. Will that be enough to crack the Indonesian market in the sub 250cc segment? Time will tell.Source More

TVS Apache RTX name trademarked – New rival to KTM 390 ADV?

TVS Apache RTX 310 RenderThe 313cc-based TVS Apache RTX ADV motorcycle is likely to launch first – Followed by a 200cc ADV motorcycle in the futureIndia is a vast country and has varied biodiversity, ecosystems and terrains. This has led to a rise in a new crop of adventure motorcycles to feed one’s wanderlust. In mainstream motorcycle market, ADVs (real and pseudo) like Hero XPulse, Honda CB200X, Royal Enfield Himalayan and Scram, Suzuki V-Strom SX 250, BMW G 310 GS, KTM Adventure range, Yezdi Adventure and more.TVS never had any ADVs (real or pseudo) and that is likely to change soon. The company has trademarked the TVS Apache RTX name in India. The X letter is highly probable to be an adventure or crossover-type motorcycle that will soon grace the Indian market. Will it be a 200cc or 310cc? Our sources have revealed quite some revelations about this motorcycle. Let’s take a look.TVS Apache RTX Name TrademarkedThe homegrown Indian automaker is fond of its Apache moniker. So much so, there are multiple variations of it, for multiple body styles. In this sense, Apache RTR name stands for its street naked motorcycle range, Apache RR name stands for its faired motorcycle range. So, it is only logical to assume TVS Apache RTX name should stand for its ADV range. When we say TVS don’t have any ADVs, we mean to say that TVS doesn’t sell them with its name. The partnership between TVS and BMW has facilitated TVS to manufacture a 313cc ADV motorcycle for BMW. That said, this partnership between TVS and BMW seems to be slightly one-sided in the favour of the latter.TVS Apache RTX name trademarkedAs BMW procured three motorcycles (G 310 R, G 310 RR, G 310 GS) based on this 313cc platform, while TVS managed just one (Apache RR 310). Sources tell us that TVS is on the verge of launching its 313cc-based ADV and naked motorcycles soon.Minimal design changes with their BMW counterparts are highly likely. Most probably, TVS’ versions will just be re-branding exercise like it was with BMW G 310 RR, which was pound to pound, an Apache RR 310, without SmartXonnect Bluetooth (for Rs. 28,000 extra). The same 310cc engine in a similar state of tuneWhen launched, TVS Apache RTX 310 will get the same 313cc single-cylinder engine (33.52 bhp, 28 Nm, 6MT) as BMW G 310 GS and will feature similar componentry as well. Further down the line, TVS might incorporate a 200cc-based Apache RTX motorcycle as well, to rival Hero Xpulse 200 4V.2023 TVS Apache 310 Street renderWhen we first got this scoop, our rendering artist Pratyush Rout penned down his vision of what Apache RTX line could look like. He has created renders of both the street naked and ADV versions of their BMW counterparts. When TVS launches them, these motorcycles will get SmartXonnect Bluetooth system and compatible smartphone app as well. Pricing will be less than BMW counterparts despite feature additions. More

Upcoming TVS Cruiser Patent Leaks Before Launch – Royal Enfield Rival ?

Render for illustration purpose only.As compared to the current range of TVS motorcycles, the new cruiser appears to have a relatively sober profileIt is known that TVS is working on a new flagship bike. The middleweight segment has registered strong growth and has significant future potential. This makes a strong case for TVS to expand its portfolio and introduce new premium products. There are various options that can be considered for middleweight segment. It could be a roadster, scrambler, ADV, etc. However, the patent filed by TVS reveals the typical design of a cruiser. Based on whether it is below or above 500cc, the new TVS cruiser will go up against Royal Enfield Meteor 350 or Super Meteor 650. Upcoming TVS cruiser motorcycle – Design patent leaksTVS new cruiser bike – styling and featuresTVS new cruiser has a neo-retro profile. It has the old school, laidback look and feel, quite different from the current range of TVS motorcycles. Some of the key highlights include a round headlamp, USD front forks, a large engine, curvy fuel tank and a single exhaust pipe. Users can expect comfortable rides with features such as the wide, swept-back handlebar and forward-set foot pegs. For the new cruiser, it is possible that TVS could use the expertise of British brand Norton Motorcycles. TVS had acquired Norton Motorcycles in 2020. The deal was valued at around Rs 153 crore. In April 2022, TVS announced investments worth £100 million (more than Rs 1,000 crore) in Norton Motorcycles. With such massive investments, it will be safe to assume that TVS is planning something big. There could be a plan to aggressively target global markets with the new generation of TVS motorcycles.Upcoming TVS cruiser motorcycle – Design patent leaksTVS new cruiser performance, specsAlthough TVS new cruiser can be seen with a large, wide-bodied engine, it is not certain if it’s a single-cylinder or twin-cylinder unit. If displacement is around 650cc to 700cc, there’s a likelihood of a twin-cylinder motor. TVS-owned Norton Motorcycles has several big bikes powered by parallel twin motor. Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 also utilizes a parallel-twin setup. The 648cc engine churns out 47 PS of max power and 52.3 Nm of peak torque. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. At rear, TVS cruiser is expected to get dual rear shock absorbers. It will be interesting to see what kind of aural experiences the new TVS cruiser comes up with. Surely, TVS will be looking to create something unique and exhilarating. In terms of launch timelines, there’s no clarity at this point of time. However, it is likely that TVS will be looking to launch the cruiser as soon as possible. TVS is also working on other new products. For example, multiple new electric two-wheelers will be launched in the next 12 to 13 months. These will be in the 5kW to 25kW category. TVS will also launch a naked streetfighter version of the existing bestseller Apache RR310. More

But in multiple global markets. One TVS commuter motorcycle even featured in an episode of The Grand Tour where Richard Hammond rides it in Africa. Likewise, TVS has a strong presence in Latin countries like Colombia as well. This is where TVS has showcased two new colours for its motorcycles and scooters. One of the new colours is called Miami Blue and the other is similar to Racing Edition showcased with Apache RTR 200. Images are credited to Samuel Carvajal.TVS Miami Blue Colour ConceptThe models include Apache RR 310 fully-faired bike, Raider 125 sporty commuter, Apache RTR 200 and Ntorq 125 scooter. TVS Miami Blue is a particular highlight . The White will definitely appeal to people who prefer subtle colours, unlike Miami Blue.TVS Miami Blue mainly comprises a teal blue shade and looks particularly spectacular on Apache RR 310. Given that it has more body panel real estate to show this colour off. Miami Blue is present on most of the fairing, side panels and fuel tank. While the sub frame is Black. TVS is playfully using Red accents that bring out Apache RR 310’s sporty lineage.TVS Apache RTR Miami BlueRed is present below headlights and in the tubular chassis. Wheels get half Black, half Red treatment like half-Orange and half-White on a few KTM models. Add to it Gold USD forks, Apache RR 310 looks a million bucks. TVS showcased Apache RTR body style in two colours. Both of them featured Black and Red wheels as well. Take a look at the detailed walkaround video below.[embedded content]One is Miami Blue and the other resembles Racing Edition. Both got a small windscreen, knuckle guards, front caliper cover and more. With Miami Blue on RTR body, TVS has given red elements too, present in faux tank shroud vents and on side body panels. With White colour, Red highlights are only present in faux vents in tank shrouds.Raider 125 and Ntorq 125 get new colours tooIn Colombia, TVS is offering the same Miami Blue and White with Raider 125 too. But Raider 125 lacks any Red highlights. Instead, Raider 125 showcased in White gets White grab handles for pillion, which is not the case with Miami Blue. Other than that, Raider 125 looks fresh in these new shades.TVS Raider 125 Miami BlueLastly, NTORQ 125 gets the same colour too, but retains Red accents. These Red accents are present in the front apron, rear body panels below grab rail and other places. Both Miami Blue and White look good on TVS Ntorq 125. TVS also showcased a video game simulation with Apache RRR 310 as the base vehicle too. Mechanically, these are similar to outgoing models and TVS is keeping its product fresh for the Colombian market with local feedback. We hope TVS brings this Miami Blue shade to India at least with Apache RR 310. More
