    Triumph is aggressively expanding its international portfolio by unveiling new products across various segments. Back in April this year, the British bikemaker took the wraps off the latest version of Street Scrambler that will also head towards Indian shores. The company, through a teaser on social media, has now confirmed the same.
    The 2021 Street Scrambler features some subtle aesthetic and mechanical updates over its predecessor. It will be available in two forms- standard and a limited-run Sandstorm Edition. The latter has been priced at Rs 9.95 lakh (ex-showroom) for India and is limited to just 775 units worldwide.
    Updated Styling
    To start with its design, 2021 iteration of Street Scrambler gets a raft of styling updates. These include a new side panel with an aluminium number board, a new brushed aluminium headlight bracket, a new heel guard and throttle body finishers. The split-style seats get a new Alcantara-like finish. That said, Triumph has retained the overall retro styling of the bike with the same set of body panels.
    Retro-style components such as a round headlamp, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, a single-sided high-mounted twin exhaust canister, wire-spoked wheels shod with knobby tyres, fork gaiters and circular rearview mirrors. Triumph, however, has done away with a rubberised grip pad on the tank. It will be available in three paint schemes- a dual-tone Matte Khaki with Matte Ironstone, Jet Black or Urban Grey.

    The Sandstorm Edition gets additional cosmetic enhancements such as a headlight grille, rubber grip pads on the tank, a beak-like high-mounted front mudguard and an engine belly pan which give it a unique appearance. Further, it will be shipped with a personalised certificate of authenticity that will also bear the bike’s VIN number lending it exclusivity. The bike tips the weighing scales at 223kg.
    Mechanical Specs
    Getting into specifications, the bike is powered by a 900cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine which also powers Bonneville Street Twin. This motor is now BS6/Euro-5 compliant and pushes out 64.1 bhp at 7,500rpm and a peak torque of 80 Nm at 3,200rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
    The new Street Scrambler is underpinned by the same steel twin-cradle frame that is suspended on non-adjustable 41mm forks telescopic at front and preload-adjustable twin shocks at rear. Braking duties will be carried out by single disc brakes on both front and rear ends with calipers from Brembo and Nissin respectively. Safety is provided by dual-channel ABS as standard.

    Speaking of features, Street Scrambler gets an analogue speedometer with LCD display, a 12-litre fuel tank, full LED illumination traction control and three ride modes- road, rain and off-road.     An adventure sports motorcycle, Triumph Tiger Sport 660 is based on Trident 660. The latter was launched in India earlier this year in April at a starting price of Rs 6.95 lakh (ex-showroom). Today, Tiger 660 has made its global debut. Launch in India is likely to take place in Jan 2022.
    Triumph Tiger Sport 660 design and features
    Although Tiger Sport 660 shares majority of its hardware with Trident 660, the bike has quite a few unique features. Starting at the front, Tiger Sport 660 gets sleek twin LED headlamps. The front fairing sports a pointy nose, which ensures a dominating road presence.
    The overall look and feel is further accentuated with the use of a large windscreen. This could be an adjustable unit. In comparison, naked Trident 660 features a neo-retro design theme. It is equipped with round headlamp.
    Talking about side profile, Tiger Sport 660 utilizes prominent radiator shrouds. The front fairing extends towards the sides, merging seamlessly with the fuel tank. On Tiger Sport, the fuel tank has a different design in comparison to that of Trident 660. It also can carry more fuel. Trident 660 can carry 14 litres of fuel, while Tiger 660 can carry 17 liters of fuel.

    Basic structure of the exhaust pipes and underbelly exhaust is largely the same in both bikes. Another difference can be seen in the seat and tail section of Tiger Sport. As compared to Trident 660, Tiger Sport has a longer seat with more space for the rider. The seat appears to be more comfy, as compared to that of Trident.
    Overall ergonomics have been tweaked to make Tiger Sport more suitable for long distance journeys. While Trident has a forward leaning riding stance, things are more upright with Tiger Sport. Making it possible are the centrally placed foot pegs and raised, wide handlebars.
    At the rear, Tiger Sport 660 has an elevated tail section with a narrow strip for mounting the number plate. In comparison, the number plate on Trident 660 is mounted on the swingarm linked tyre hugger unit.

    Tiger 660 is powered by the same engine, as on offer with Trident 660. Even the max output specs are same. Triumph Trident 660 is powered by a 660cc liquid cooled, 12 valve, DOHC, inline 3-cylinder motor that is capable of producing 80 bhp of max power at 10,250 rpm and 64 Nm of peak torque at 6,250 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed transmission. The bike is equipped with slip and assist clutch, which significantly reduces rider fatigue.
    The tubular steel perimeter frame on Tiger Sport looks the same as that of Trident. However, Tiger Sport seems to have an additional sub-frame at the rear. This is likely needed to support the weight of panniers and cargo at the rear.

    Triumph has launched the new 2021 Speed Twin in India at a price of Rs 10.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The latest iteration of the modern classic motorcycle was unveiled at the start of this year along with the entire updated Bonneville range of retro-style classic twin-cylinder motorcycles.
    Being from the Bonneville family, the new Speed Twin gets the signature British retro-inspired styling commonly seen across Bonnies. The latest model from Triumph comes with both features and mechanical upgrades. In addition, there are a few cosmetic changes as well which are subtle in nature.
    Updated Cosmetics
    Bookings for the new Speed Twin began in June 2021 itself. Styling highlights include a round LED headlamp with anodised mounts, upswept twin exhaust mufflers which get brushed aluminium finish, a clear anodised Aluminium swingarm, new mudguard mounts at front and rear, and updated graphics on the 14.5-litre fuel tank. The side body panels also get a brushed Aluminium finish along with heel guards.
    Other signature Bonneville highlights include a flat-type seat with a ribbed pattern, tapered handlebars with bar-end mirrors, cast aluminium alloy wheels with a 12-spoke design and fork gaiters upfront. In India, Speed Twin will be offered in three colour options namely Red Hopper, Matte Storm Gray and Jet Black. The motorcycle adopts a dark theme with side panels, engine gearbox assembly and handlebar dipped in black paint giving it a sporty appeal.

    Same Yet Better Powertrain
    Powering Speed Twin is the same 1,200cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine from the Bonneville family which now comes with a lighter crankshaft, as well as a new alternator that is said to reduce inertia by 17 percent. This has resulted in a bump of power by 3 horses while peak output now stands at 99 bhp at 7,250rpm and 112 Nm of torque at 4,250rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

The suspension setup has also been updated too which consists of fatter 43 mm Marzocchi forks with cartridge damping at front. At rear, it gets twin shock absorbers with adjustable preload.

    New Features on offer
    In terms of features, the bike gets a host of electronic rider-based aids which includes updated riding modes- Rain, Road and Sport. Each mode is preset with dedicated throttle control settings and new throttle maps. The new Speed Twin also gets a traction control system which can be switched off completely. However, it still misses out on an IMU-based electronics package, which the company claims, has been done to keep costs in check.

    Triumph Motorcycles has just confirmed the launch of Tiger 660, officially christened as Tiger Sport 660. Their latest machine is set to become the most affordable adventure sports tourer from the iconic British brand. A full-fledged hardcore Adventure version of the same is also expected to debut at a later stage.
    Ahead of the international debut of Trident 660, a leaked image had suggested that the naked streetfighter would get two siblings- an adventure bike and an adventure sports tourer. Triumph has revealed a camouflaged version of the latter by releasing camouflaged images and a video. Triumph states that testing for Tiger Sport 660 is in its final stages.

    Tiger Sport series from the British bikemaker is the road-centric range of Triumph’s ADV line-up. It caters to buyers who specifically want a bike for touring purposes and wish to stick to tarmac more often than getting into broken tracks. The bike is set to be officially revealed in a couple of months, most probably during EICMA 2021. One can expect the new adventure bike to hit showrooms in India by early 2022.
    What’s similar to Trident 660?
    2022 Triumph Tiger 660 is based on the same architecture as naked streetfighter. It will feature the same 660cc three-cylinder liquid-cooled engine. This motor is tuned to produce a healthy 80 bhp and 64 Nm of peak torque and the same output is expected to be available for the upcoming sports tourer. This unit will be coupled with a six-speed gearbox with a slipper and assist clutch.

    Other hardware components such as suspension and braking setup have been straightaway lifted from Trident 660. Suspension duties will be handled by black colour USD forks and a mono-shock from Showa, although it will be interesting to see if they offer more travel or stuff like preload adjustability. Braking will be handled by a twin front disc and a single rear disc setup from Nissin.
    What’s dissimilar to Trident 660?
    While Tiger Sport 660 rides on the same 17-inch alloy wheels as its naked street racer sibling, the wheels are shod by Michelin Road 5 rubber. Even though the tubular frame underneath has been lifted from Trident 660, the upcoming sports tourer may get a new rear subframe and swingarm. Since both will cater to a different segment of buyers, the latter also gets ergonomic tweaks.
    The rider’s seat is longer in the Tiger with an aggressively raked up tail section. The handlebar is taller and wider and the footpegs are placed towards the centre which results in a more comfortable yet commanding riding posture. Optional side panniers enhance its credibility as a tourer.

    The highly anticipated joint venture between Bajaj Auto and Triumph Motorcycles has hit another speed breaker as the launch of its first product has been delayed. No points for guessing the obvious reason behind this delay- the Covid-19 pandemic.
    Back in December 2020, MD of Bajaj Auto, Rajiv Bajaj had revealed that the launch of the first model under this joint production could be affected due to the ongoing pandemic. As per a recent report, this project has indeed now been pushed by another 6-9 months.
    More Details
    Earlier stated to make its debut in 2022, the upcoming motorcycle will now launch only at the end of fiscal year 2023. This development was confirmed by Rakesh Sharma, Executive Director of Bajaj Auto, during an interaction with analysts. The report further mentions that travel restrictions between India and United Kingdom brought about by the emergence of the Delta variant of Covid-19 have forced the company to take this decision.
    According to Sharma, development of this motorcycle has reached an advanced stage. In fact, pre-production prototypes of the bike are already in place. However, strict travel curbs meant that Triumph engineers couldn’t come to India and monitor the development process on these prototypes. Their physical presence is required to make necessary corrections if needed.
    Bajaj Triumph Motorcycle Render
    The deal between the India two-wheeler brand and the iconic British bikemaker was inked in 2020 after discussion began in 2017. This partnership will witness the development of Triumph branded motorcycles, designed and developed in UK by Triumph and manufactured in India by Bajaj. This alliance is set to come out with multiple mid-displacement (250cc-700cc) motorcycles catering to Indian consumers.

    These Triumph-branded bikes made by Bajaj will most likely be the first units to roll off the production lines from the company’s new Rs 650-crore plant at Chakan near Pune which is set to become operational by 2023. This facility will also manufacture other premium motorcycles from other alliance brands such as KTM and Husqvarna.
    This partnership between Bajaj and Triumph will help the British brand establish itself in large-volume markets like Asia and South America where cost is a huge factor. Bajaj is currently working on developing the new range-topping model of its Pulsar range of motorcycles- Pulsar 250. Test mules of the upcoming bike have been spotted on multiple occasions in recent months.
    Earlier reports have indicated that Bajaj is developing a new 250cc oil-cooled engine with the provision of air cooler for the upcoming flagship Pulsar. This powertrain might also be utilised for the upcoming entry-level Bajaj-Triumph motorcycle thus keeping development costs in check for both companies.

    Triumph Bonneville Bobber is priced at Rs 11.75 lakh pan India. The Bobber is being sold in three colours of Matte Strom Grey with Matte Ironstone (Rs 12.05 lakh), Cordovan Red (Rs 11.88 lakh), and Jet Black (Rs 11.75 lakh) along with updated equipment and technology that sets it apart from its earlier counterpart.
    Features and Instrumentation
    2021 Triumph Bonneville Bobber gets blacked out elements and updated features that will allow for worldwide acceptance. These include steel fenders with a central ridge and return edge, flat bars and adjustable levers, a sculpted top yolk, rubber gaiters and a side mounted ignition barrel. It also gets blacked out bar end mirrors, LED bullet indicators and a new full LED headlamp and LED DRLs.

    After officially launching the Bonneville range, Triumph has launched the entry-entry level naked bike- Trident 660 for the Indian market. The naked streetfighter which was recently launched in Malaysia has been priced at INR 6.95 lakh (ex-showroom, India). This is the same price tag which got leaked last month.
    Pre-bookings of the Trident 660 started in November last year at a token amount of Rs 50,000, shortly after it made its India debut. Since then, it has launched in various international markets across the world. The bike will be available as a CKD unit in India. This entry-level Triumph has been designed and developed keeping in mind the younger section of riders.
    Styling & Features
    Starting with its design, the Trident 660 commands a sporty and muscular stance with a neo-classic stance. With this motorcycle, the British automaker has paid tribute to the original Trident of 1968 which kickstarted the era of three-cylinder motors.
    The prominent design highlights include a retro-style round LED headlamp, a curvy dual-tone fuel tank with knee pads, an under-belly exhaust, and a single-piece seat with a sleek and stubby tail section. It can also be fitted with a host of optional accessories.

    2021 Triumph Street Twin
    This is the highest selling model in the company’s Modern Classic lineup. For 2021, it gets updated with new cast aluminum wheels measuring 18 inch front and 17 inch rear with machined spoke accents and a new ribbed bench seat with 10mm thicker seat foam while saddle height has been increased by 5mm to now 765mm. It also gets new side panels, new decals, a throttle body finisher and brushed aluminum headlamp assembly.
    The 2021 Triumph Street Twin will not see any colour changes and will be offered in three shades of Cobalt Blue, Matt Ironstone, and Jet Black. The first two colour options receive grey-and-white striped decals. The Street Twin will be powered by a 900cc parallel twin HT engine offering 65 hp power at 7,500 rpm and 80 Nm torque at 3,800 rpm while mated to a 5 speed transmission with slip and assist clutch. It gets two riding modes of Rain and Road, switchable traction control and dual channel ABS.

    Limited to just 1,000 units of which only 100 will be reserved for UK markets, the Gold Line edition gets a unique paint scheme Matte Sapphire Black with hand painted gold lining and the Triumph heritage logo. It will also get brushed aluminum decal on the side of the fuel tank and custom details will also be seen on the it wheels with gold detailing. The Bonneville Twin Gold Line will be powered by the same engine as seen on the Street Twin.

    It will gain in terms of design with aluminum wheel rims and crank with thin walled clutch cover and magnesium cam cover all of which relate to a lighter weight by 4 kgs over its older counterpart. Colour options will include a Lucerne Blue and Fusion White scheme, along with hand painted silver coach lines and a single Jet Black colour option or a dual tone of Carnival Red and Fusion White, with hand painted silver coach lines.
    The T100 will get an updated Euro5 compliant 900 cc engine that offers 65 hp power at 7,400 and 80 Nm torque at 3,750 rpm which is 10 hp more than that offered on its earlier engine. Fuel efficiency is pegged at 24.3 km/l. Brembo brakes, traction control and ABS will also be a part of the updates.

    2021 Bonneville T120 And T120 Black
    The biggest change in the Bonneville T100, T120 and T120 Black lies in its engine. The T120 also sees its engine mass reduced thanks to use of a lighter crankshaft, clutch and balancer shafts. It also receives new aluminum wheel rims thus relating to an overall reduction in weight by 7 kgs to a total of 228 kgs. This weight loss along with the lower internal inertia offered by the engine results in better response.
    Triumph has also fitted the 2021 Bonneville T120 with more premium Brembo 2 piston front brake as against the Nissin unit seen on its earlier counterpart. The T120 is powered by a 1200cc, parallel twin, liquid cooled engine offering 80 hp power at 6,550 rpm and increased torque that goes up from 104 Nm to 105 Nm at 3,500 rpm. Fuel efficiency is set at 21.2 km/l.
    The T120 Black gets blacked out finishes on its engine cover, rear view mirror housing, rims and exhausts in a choice of Jet Black or sophisticated Matte Jet Black with Matte Graphite with a hand painted silver coach lining, while all other features and engine specs remain the same as seen on the T120

    Feature updates will see a new split seat setup with comfort seats for rider and pillion with 11 mm thicker foam and lumbar support, an updated instrument cluster and two new colour schemes of Red and Dual-Tone Black-and-White. It will also get 47mm Showa fork over the 41mm seen on its earlier model and brakes get updated to offer and smoother and better delivery. The updated Speedmaster will be powered by a 1200cc Euro5 engine offering 77 hp power and 106 Nm torque.

    To be launched at a later date, it gets a larger 12 liter fuel tank as against the 9 liter units seen on its previous model. It also receives higher spec Brembo brakes, 47mm Showa forks and new 16 inch wheels while black color scheme is seen across its engine, cam and sprocket covers.
    It gets a new LED headlamp unit, switchable ABS, traction control and cruise control offered as standard. Offered in three color options of Matt Storm grey and Matt Ironstone scheme along with a new Cordovan Red and Classic Jet Black option.
