Shortly after its international debut, Triumph Motorcycle’s new entry level model, the Trident 660 street fighter, is about to be launched in India soon. One of our readers happened to come across the starting price listed on the official website, possibly during a test run, but it has been taken down since. Here is how much it is going to cost in India.

The Triumph Trident 660 will have a starting price of INR 6.95 lakh (ex-showroom), as per the leaked photo. It remains to be seen if this is the actual launch price of the motorcycle or not, as Triumph India is yet to announce the prices officially. If the leaked prices are indeed correct, this makes it the most affordable model in the British marque’s lineup. At the time of its global unveil, the company revealed that the motorcycle will be imported into India in the form of CKD kits and assembled locally at its Manesar facility.

The Trident 660 pays tribute to the original 1968 namesake which was the origin of the brand’s famous triple-cylinder family. The styling has a neo-classic appeal to it with a simple circular LED headlamp, a prominent fuel tank with padded knee indents and a cantilevered tailpiece with minimal bodywork. The underbelly exhaust, generously proportioned tyres, alloy swingarm, digital instrument console and alloy wheels add a modern touch.
Specifications
The medium displacement motorcycle is based on a steel tubular frame which sits on Showa inverted telescopic front forks and rear monoshock with preload adjustment. The 17-inch alloy wheels are wrapped in Michelin Road 5 tyres measuring 120/70-R17 at the front and 180/55-R17 at the rear. The Nissin braking system comprises of 310 mm twin discs with two-piston calipers at the front and a single disc with one-piston caliper at the rear. Of course, ABS is a standard equipment.
The Triumph Trident 660 also gets ride-by-wire system which enables road and rain riding modes. Other highlights include adjustable traction control, colour TFT instrument console with white-on-black LCD unit, and so on.
Powering the naked motorcycle is a 660 cc in-line three-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine which is not entirely new but it incorporates as many as 67 new components to comply with the latest emission standards. Mated to a 6-speed transmission by means of a slipper and assist clutch, the engine pumps out 81 hp and 64 Nm of torque. Triumph claims that 90% of the torque is available almost throughout the rev range.
Three color themes are available namely Matt Jet Black and Matt Silver Ice, Silver Ice and Diablo Red, and Crystal White and Sapphire Black. Internationally, the motorcycle is offered with a 2 year / unlimited km warranty package and we expect the same in India as well.
Rivals
To be introduced in the coming days, the Triumph Trident 660 will take on the likes of Kawasaki Z650 and Ducati Scrambler Icon. The pricing puts it in the sweet-spot right in the middle of of its cheaper and more expensive rivals. More

2021 Triumph Bonneville Teaser
Bonneville range of motorcycles for 2021 is expected to feature updates in its styling and equipment

Triumph Motorcycles is on a spree to update its product lineup for 2021. In a matter of a few days, it has introduced two important bikes- Speed Triple 1200 RS and Tiger 850 Sport in India and globally. This is going to be followed by the brand’s new entry-level naked motorcycle Trident 660.
Amidst all this, Triumph hasn’t forgotten its classic range of roadsters which has helped it earn a household name in retro motorcycles across the globe. The British bikemaker has teased the upcoming Bonneville brand of motorcycles for the year 2021. The company has shared a teaser on YouTube announcing its global launch on February 23, 2021.
Expected Updates
From the teaser video, one could gather that the updated Bonneville lineup is slated to feature six different models. These bikes are likely to include Street Twin, Bonneville T100, Bonneville T120, Speed Twin, Bonneville Speedmaster and Bonneville Bobber.
Seeing past updates from Triumph, we expect Triumph to make updates to Bonnie’s cosmetics and feature list along with the mandatory emission update to make engines breathe cleaner. Although these updates are not likely to be something major. Take a look at the teaser video below.

As part of the update, we expect the updated Bonnie lineup to receive new colour schemes, updated styling and a few additional features. These could include an updated instrument console, a host of electronic aids and slightly different body graphics. Apart from cleaner Euro-5/BS6 emission, there is less likelihood of any mechanical changes. Clearly, this updated Bonneville series is expected to be more of an evolution than a revolution.
Bonneville India Lineup
In India though, the British brand is likely to trim down the Bonneville range and offer only a select few models. The India lineup is likely to miss out on Speedmaster and Bobber along with Thruxton R cafe racer.
Launch of the updated Bonnies are expected to take place soon after the global unveil as the brand would like to increase its sales on an urgent basis. All updates are likely to come at a price and therefore the 2021 Bonnies are expected to be offered at a premium over their predecessors.
Tiger 850 Sport
The company recently launched an affordable variant of its Tiger 900 adventure bike- Tiger 850 Sport at a price of Rs 11.95 lakh (ex-showroom). It is powered by the same 888cc, liquid-cooled, in-line triple petrol engine which performs duties in the former, however, it is slightly detuned to return an output of 84 bhp and 82 Nm of peak torque. 2021 Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS
Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS is based on a brand new chassis, receives new features and gets a new 1160cc 180 hp engine

Triumph Motorcycles India have launched the 2021 Speed Triple 1200 RS today, at a starting price of Rs 16.95 lakhs, ex-sh. It is priced at £15,100 in the UK, which when converted is about Rs. 15.11 lakhs.
Features
Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS receives several improvements over its predecessor Speed Triple 1050. For starters, it is 10 kgs lighter than its earlier counterpart, weighing 198 kgs and sports a slimmer look with a compact frame and sleek LED headlamps. It also sees some change in its fuel tank which is of 15.5 liter capacity while the tail lamp has increased in size.
High mounted twin exhausts seen in the Triple 1050 now change to a single exhaust canister on the 1200 RS while ergonomics are improved with its handlebar now 13mm wider and more forward positioned foot pegs. Perch is set at a height of 830 mm.
The Triple 1200 RS sits on 17 inch light weight, case aluminum, V-spoke wheels with Metzeler RACETEC RR tyres while Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SC2 tyres can also be fitted as a factory approved track option.
2021 Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS
Triple 1200 RS gets fully adjustable Ohlins suspension and Brembo Stylema brakes. Performance also gets augmented with Optimized Cornering ABS and switchable Optimized Cornering Traction Control with IMU. This 6 axis IMU consists of 5 ride modes of Rain, Road, Sport, Track and Rider and lean sensitive traction control and cornering ABS.
The feature list goes on to include a 5 inch TFT display with user interface, Triumph’s ‘My Connectivity’ system with turn by turn navigation and GoPro controls, keyless ignition, steering lock and keyless fuel filler cap.
Street Triple 1200 RS gets color options of Sapphire Black, with red and silver graphics, or Matt Silver Ice, with black, silver and yellow graphics. The accessory list has also been enhanced with a total of 35 accessories for better styling, technology, luggage, protection and care.

These include body coloured fly screen, tinted visor, machined sports bar end mirrors, front and rear brake reservoirs and accessory luggage with water resistant tank and tail bags, frame protectors, all weather covers and accessory battery charger.
Engine
Triumph Triple 1200 RS is powered by a completely redesigned engine. It is more compact but of higher capacity with every element designed for increased performance and better control and delivering the highest power-to-weight ratio ever seen on a Speed Triple. This 1160cc, inline, triple engine makes 180 hp power at 10,750 rpm and 125 Nm torque at 9,000 rpm which is around 30 hp and 8 Nm more than that offered by the engine on its predecessor.
This makes the Speed Triple more powerful and faster making the 1200 RS the most powerful and torque rich Speed Triple ever. The engine gets mated to a 6 speed gearbox.
It also receives a new lithium-ion battery which is 60 percent lighter than a lead acid battery thus reducing overall weight by 2.3 kgs. The battery charger offered is suited for both lithium ion battery and lead acid batteries. Triumph will soon launch Tiger 850 Sport and Trident 660 in India

Triumph Motorcycles has officially revealed its India-bound hyper naked motorcycle Speed Triple 1200 RS today. Earlier this month, the British two-wheeler brand has teased the upcoming bike through a video which barely revealed it in its actual form.
However, with this global unveil, the company has revealed each and every detail regarding naked street racer barring its price. First introduced in 1994, Speed Triple has been one of the most capable litre-class naked motorcycles in its segment. Last iteration of the naked streetfighter, Speed Triple 1050, has not received any updates as of late, thus making it a bit outdated.
Updated Design
Hence, an updated Speed Triple would certainly help Triumph reclaim its prosperity in the litre-class naked segment. The bike gets a new twin-headlamp setup is which is complemented nicely by integrated eyebrow-shaped LED DRLs which give it an angry-looking face. The LED headlamps are similar to the ones present in Street Triple R/RS which are currently on sale in India.
Another design highlight is the new LED taillight which is starkly different from the one in Speed Triple 1050 RS. What remains to be seen is whether or not this new Triumph Speed Triple will feature a high mount with twin exhaust setup which will add a sense of distinction to it. Although we do know that this naked speedster is going to be equipped with a carbon fibre mudguard and gold-finished USD forks at front from Ohlins that should be fully adjustable.
2021 Triumph Speed Triple RS
Rear mono-shock too has been sourced from Ohlins and offers preload and damping movability. A single-sided swingarm should also find its presence in the new Speed Triple RS. Triumph has ditched the last generation Speed Triple’s steel Trellis frame in favour of a cast aluminium chassis. The British bikemaker has also opted for freshly designed 17-inch lightweight alloy wheels.
Features on offer
Since it is a flagship product, Triumph has equipped the new-gen Speed Triple RS with loads of gizmos and electronic aids. This includes a fully-digital 5-inch TFT instrument cluster with Bluetooth as well as MyTriumph connectivity suite. The electronic package comprises throttle-by-wire, multiple ride modes, cruise control, traction control, GoPro controls and navigation. Other features on offer include full LED lighting, full keyless system and a quick-shifter.
Performance
Coming to its most crucial aspect- performance, the ‘1200’ moniker clearly indicates a  larger powertrain is employed. The latest iteration of Speed Triple RS is powered by a 1160cc triple-cylinder which delivers an output of 178 bhp at 10,750 rpm and 125 Nm of peak torque at 9,000 rpm. This unit is mated to a six-speed gearbox with a silp and assist clutch for quicker and smoother shifts.
2021 Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS
For reference, the older 1050cc triple-cylinder motor churned out 148 bhp at 10,500rpm and a peak torque of 117 Nm at 7,150rpm. Surprisingly, this new 1160cc unit is lighter than the older 1050cc unit by 7kg which results in an incredible jump of 25% in its power to weight ratio.

Prices of the naked streetfighter are yet to be announced although one can expect the new Speed Triple 1200 RS to be priced at a slight premium over Speed Triple 1050 RS. Triumph Motorcycles unveiled the Tiger 850 Sport over a month ago and now the British bikemaker has listed its upcoming middleweight adventure tourer on its official India website. Upon its launch, Tiger 850 Sport will serve as the brand’s entry-level motorcycle and positioned below Tiger 900.
According to the company, Tiger 850 Sport has been primarily targeted at an audience which is still relatively new to biking at a more affordable rate. It caters to the demands of consumers who do not seek overloaded technical gizmos on its equipment yet provides strong performance for a thrilling ride.
Powertrain & Tranmission
The name would suggest that it is a scaled-down version of Tiger 900, however, that is not the case as it is essentially the same bike. It is powered by the same 888cc in-line three-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with T-Plane crankshaft which also powers Tiger 900. However, Triumph has detuned the output of this unit to produce 84 bhp and at 8,500 rpm and 82 Nm at 6,500 which is 10 bhp and 5 Nm less than its older sibling.
Triumph has done this to make it a more approachable option for first-time riders. This unit is paired with a 6-speed gearbox with a slip and assist clutch for smoother gear shifts. This motor also ensures a more linear delivery of power.

Dynamics
This iteration of the ADV tourer has been developed more for road-focused touring rather than trail bashing off-road adventures. Therefore, it receives road-biased tyres and a non-adjustable suspension setup. It is offered with a 45mm upside-down forks at front with 180mm travel and gas pressurised manual preload adjustment mono-shock at rear with a travel of 170mm from Marzocchi.
Anchorage duties are handled by a pair of 320 mm front discs with monoblock 4-piston Brembo Stylema callipers and a 255 mm single disc with Brembo single-piston sliding calliper at rear. These are assisted by dual-channel ABS. Tiger 850 rolls on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels with 100/90 and 150/70 profile of tyres wrapped around.
Features on offer
In terms of electronic aids, Triumph has thrown in two riding modes- road and rain, with Ride-by-wire throttle and switchable traction control. Its list of features also consists of an all-LED lighting setup with DRLs, an adjustable windscreen, a USB charging port and a five-inch TFT instrument display which provides crucial readouts from odometer, speedometer, trip meter, etc. Apart from these, Triumph will also offer a number of optional accessories packages to spruce up the Tiger 850.
Launch of Tiger 850 in India will be preceded by the launch of the all-new Trident 660 which is expected to hit showrooms in a few days time. As far as pricing goes, Tiger 850 Sport is likely to be priced around Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom). 2021 Triumph Trident 660 marks its entry into the naked motorcycle segment reminiscent of the original Triumph roadsters

Triumph Motorcycle enters the premium middle weight roadster segment with the new Trident 660. This naked motorcycle is set to launch in India in early 2021 and will be brought in as via the CKD route.
The Triumph Trident 660 has been opened for pre-bookings at company dealerships at Rs.50,000, form today. This booking amount is 100 percent refundable till the price is announced. Trident 660 will enter the company lineup in India which currently comprises the Street Triple RS and the Street Triple R. It has been launched in the UK at GBP 7,195 relating to around Rs.7.11 lakhs.
Triumph Motorcycle has also confirmed a special finance scheme for buyers of the new Trident 660 at an EMI of Rs.9,999. However, this offer will be for a limited period only. The Triumph Trident 660 is slated to be priced below the Triumph Street twin and will serve as an entry price point into the Triumph brand.
Triumph Trident 660 Features
Set to attract the attention of a younger segment of buyers in the country, the Triumph Trident 660 commands a sporty and muscular stance. It receives four colour schemes, a contemporary design, LED head lamps and a curved tank. The LED tail lamps are integrated into the tail along with rear turn indicators. It also gets a round console with a fully digital unit showing information such as speed, revs, fuel level and gear selection.

The bottom half is a TFT coloured panel offering the rider electronic aids and smartphone connectivity. Tapered handlebars and teardrop shaped mirrors are also a part of its features. The new Trident has traction control and two riding modes of Rain and Road. Traction control can be switched off while it also receives dual channel ABS.
Triumph Trident 660 Engine Specs
The Triumph Trident 660 will be powered by a 660cc, inline, 3 cylinder, liquid cooled engine making 79.8 hp power at 10,250 rpm and 64 Nm torque at 6,250 rpm. The new roadster will sport a 6 speed gearbox that would be accompanied by a bi-directional quickshifter as an option.
The bike will sport Showa suspension setup and braking via twin piston Nissin calipers with twin 310 mm disc in the front while it will ride on 17 inch alloy wheels fitted with Michelin (Road 5) high grip tyres. The motorcycle will have kerb weight of 189 kgs and this will ensure good power to weight and torque to weight ratios.
The company has stated that the motorcycle will come in with 16,000 km service interval and a 2 year unlimited mileage warranty. The new Trident will compete with the likes of the Kawasaki Z650 in India. More
