2024 Mahindra Thar Electric SUV Ready To Off Road – Render

With electric being the future, how does an all electric Mahindra Thar sound, or look?2024 Mahindra Thar Electric SUV RenderNew Mahindra Thar has been a run-away success. Despite being almost 1.5 years old, it still commands a long waiting period, which is something most other car brands can be envious about. Mahindra is also working upon a 5-door Mahindra Thar, which would focus a little more on comfort and interior space, without compromising on Thar’s iconic off-roading capabilities. While the 5-door Thar is still a few months away, interesting designers at Bimble Designs have envisaged how a 3-door Mahindra Thar would look like, if it lands up becoming a pure EV. If it does get launched, expect Mahindra Thar Electric to have a range in the region of 500 kms on full charge.2024 Mahindra Thar Electric SUVThe idea of a Thar EV is practical as we have already seen some massively powerful all electric pick-up trucks/SUVs getting launched in international markets in the last 2-3 years. Some of the names include Ford’s F-150 lightning, Hummer EV etc. Mahindra too has been working to re-enter the personal EV space, and an all electric Thar isn’t too much of a wild thought.Talking about the render, the model gets a clean futuristic design, along with some retro elements. Overall silhouette of Thar EV looks similar to that of standard Thar, however hard-core airless off-roading tyres and a heavy-duty suspension seem to have raised overall height of the off-roader.2024 Mahindra Thar Electric SUV RenderAt the front, the iconic Jeep inspired vertical slats get a design make-over and are all covered up, to suit the EV’s requirement. Large squared-off wheel arches and a reworked bumper make the SUV look dominating. Design of Headlamps and tail-lamps haven’t been changed much, possibly to retain the true Thar character. However, headlamps get a new LED element, which get complimented by LED bars present on the roof and front bumper. A functional roof rack along with ladders has also been added, to help users carry additional gears like a tent etc, during an off-roading trip.Mahindra Thar EV Rear DesignWhile Mahindra has some aggressive plans in the EV space, it remains to be seen if Mahindra will plan on bringing all-electric body-on-frame SUVs. As of now, most EVs in India are based on monocoque frames. If Mahindra can bring in an EV-setup on a body-on-frame platform, it will have the flexibility to spawn multiple models, like Thar EV, Scorpio EV and possibly even a Bolero EV.2024 Mahindra Thar Electric SUV RenderTalking about the standard Thar, it is offered with both petrol and diesel motor options. The diesel motor happens to be part of Mahindra’s iconic mHawk range and the 2.2 litre turbo diesel unit is capable of dishing out 130 hp and 300 Nm of peak torque. Customers opting for a petrol powerhouse get a 2 litre turbo petrol mStallion motor, which can churn out 150 hp and 320 Nm of max torque. Transmission options include 6-speed MT and 6-speed AT gearboxes. Select trims also get 4×4 capabilities. As of now, Mahindra is busy working for 2022 ScorpioN’s launch, which is scheduled to take place later this June. Post the ScorpioN, Mahindra might bring in an all-electric XUV300, which will land up becoming a direct rival to Nexon EV and Nexon EV max.Source More

Ather Electric Scooter Fire Incident At Showroom – Official Update

Ather electric scooter fire incident is attributed to vehicle that was brought in for servicing following an accident – fact finding points to crack on battery pack casingAther Electric Scooter Fire IncidentRecent electric scooter fires are a bane. But, hopefully one that strengthens the path for e2Ws. The current focus on electric scooter fires seem odd especially since ICE vehicle fires to date have never been scrutinized this closely. This of course is owing to multiple reasons. One of them being the fact that social media as a platform didn’t perform quite as well when it comes to amplifying matters. And one couldn’t quite so easily interact with authorities and/or manufacturers. The world today is open to more transparent and prompt communication. At the same time, online grievances and opinions are manifold. So, are trolls. So, while the concern is legit, and warrants meaningful discussion, not all online chatter is meaningful. Company statements are tricky to dissect accurately, and most times, they are all that is available. Following the recent spate of electric scooter fires, multiple manufacturers have gone on record to discuss specified fire incidents in brief.Ather Electric Scooter FireThis past week, there’s been a report of a Hero Photon electric scooter. The manufacturer was quick to point out that that the fire is the outcome of a short circuit at the socket. The scooter was being charged overnight. The other fire in focus was an incident in Chennai at Ather’s dealership in Chennai. A detailed statement a day later elaborates on what unfolded.Ather Electric Scooter Fire – Official UpdateThe company says, the fire erupted in a vehicle that had been brought to the service centre following an accident. Once dust was washed off the vehicle, the team realized there was a crack in the battery pack top casing when removing body panels. This crack is likely an outcome of the accident. Because of the wash, water entered the battery pack. The company also noticed a few screws around the battery had been replaced. Their varying lengths could have heightened stress on the battery top panel.A report earlier in the week, which puts blame on cheap materials that don’t meet quality criteria. The probe result was furnished by CFEES of the DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organisation) and Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru. Electric scooter fire incidents led to notices being sent to multiple manufacturers. Incident explanations are sought from Boom Motors, Pure EV, Ola Electric, Okinawa Autotech, and Jitendra EV. With the scooter fire reports from this week, due diligence and audits for the same are expected.Audits and due diligenceWhile the e2W industry is seeing growth across segments, in terms of sales volume, it still is a small segment. One that sees improved interest. With EVs touted to be the next big arena of mobility, it’s essential that the groundwork is strong. So, while outcomes of national probes of ICE vehicles have hardly been a matter of public discussion, for EVs the rules have changed.Honest and open discussions will help keep the faith in the growing EV industry. Detailed scrutiny will help correct faultlines. This is more than essential if the country is to reach its EV transition goals by 2030. More

We expect deliveries to commence soon while exact delivery timeline will vary on a first-come-first-serve basis. As we already know, Ola Electric follows a direct-to-consumer model instead of a conventional dealership template. Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Scram And ADV – Spied Together

One can expect the new Himalayan 450 to be an improved product in almost every respectRoyal Enfield Himalayan 450 Scram and ADVRoyal Enfield is right in the middle of modernizing its entire product portfolio. After getting the Meteor up and running, the retro-classic specialist has turned its attention to renovating the Himalayan adventure tourer. RE is also busy developing a new variant of its 350 cc family in the form of Hunter 350.New Royal Enfield Himalayan 450Pre-series prototypes of next gen Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 have made a habit of getting photographed while they are on a mission to accumulate crucial test miles. This time, the new adventure tourer was captured along with what appears to be its scrambler sibling (we will talk about it later). Spy shots are credited to automotive enthusiast Karunakaran. As the development process progresses, the prototypes are inching closer to production version, and we like what we see. New RE Himalayan 450 appears to be enjoying a significantly improved level of perceived quality. Hardware enhancements come in the form of a new frame which is expected to be sturdier (better off-road performance), new inverted front forks and an all-new 450 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled motor.Nothing much is known about the engine as of now but we bet it will have much better output figures than the outgoing 411 cc air and oil-cooled unit which develops a rather modest 24 hp and 32 Nm of torque. It is also being said that the new engine will offer ride-by-wire technology which will enable ride modes. The RE loyalists would definitely love the boost in highway performance the new heart promises to bring on board.Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 ADVOther noteworthy changes include a larger fuel tank which will translate into improved range, wider and more comfortable 2-piece seats, a digital instrument cluster which is likely to incorporate smartphone connectivity of turn-by-turn navigation and an array of provisions for touring accessories. The motorcycle appears to have retained its predecessors 21-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheels shod with dual-purpose tyres.Royal Enfield Scram 450 in the making?Interestingly, the Himalayan 450 was accompanied by another test mule. In the earlier post, we mentioned this motorcycle as Hunter 350. But that is not correct. Hat tip to our readers for the help. This new test mule is believed to be a scrambler version of the new Himalayan 450 ADV. Upon launch next year, the H450 twins are likely to have a similar setup on offer by RE, like the current Himalayan 411 and Scram 411.New Royal Enfield Scram 450 seems to be equipped with suspension setup (front gets conventional forks, against USD on ADV version), frame and engine identical to those of the former. The circular headlamp, simple instrument dial, flat handlebar and heavily contoured single-piece seat makes it a textbook scrambler. This variant adopts 17-inch alloy wheels with dual purpose tyres and a conventional telescopic front forks instead of the adventure tourer’s upside-down setup. The scrambler variant also features a different fuel tank.Royal Enfield Scram 450 HimalayanGiven that developing a new liquid-cooled engine ground up comes with a huge investment, it makes sense to maximize the return by employing it in more than just one product. We won’t be surprised if RE’s new mid-size motor finds itself on-board more products in addition to the new Himalayan and its Scrambler derivative. We expect RE to debut the new Himalayan 450 sometime later this year, probably at EICMA 2022 in Milan in November. The Scram 450 is also expected to debut at the same event, if not, it will follow in a few months’ time. With vast improvements and state-of-the-art technologies, the Indian adventure tourer will be a much more appealing prospect than its predecessor not only in the domestic market but also in the international markets. Tata Nexon Electric Max Launch Price Rs 17.74 L – Range 437 Km

With increased range and new features, Nexon EV Max has improved capabilities vis-a-vis rivals like MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona ElectricNew Tata Nexon EV Max – 437 Kms Range Electric SUVWhile Nexon EV is the topselling electric car in the country, its range of 312 km is not something that everyone feels comfortable with. This is especially true in a situation where charging infrastructure is yet to be fully developed. Another factor is that actual range in real world conditions is only around 200 km.Tata Nexon Electric Max PricesTo eliminate range anxiety and provide an improved overall experience to users, Tata Motors has launched all-new Nexon EV Max today. It is offered in two variants of XZ+ and XZ+ Lux. Prices start from Rs 17.74 lakh ex-sh, and go all the way to Rs 19.24 lakh ex-sh. Three colour options are on offer – White, Grey and Intensi-Teal. The latter is a new colour, exclusive to EV MAX.Tata Nexon EV Max PricesThe updated version gets a larger 40.5 kWh battery pack. Existing Nexon EV gets its power from a 30.2 kWh battery pack. In terms of battery capacity, Nexon EV Max is now ahead of Hyundai Kona Electric that has a 39.2 kWh battery pack. However, it still falls short of MG ZS EV that utilizes a 50.3 kWh battery pack.Tata Nexon EV vs EV Max PricesWith the larger battery pack, Nexon EV Max has achieved ARAI certified range of 437 km. That’s an impressive gain of 125 km. However, just like the standard Nexon EV, the Max variant’s real-time range is likely to be lower. True range of Nexon EV Max is expected to be around 300 km. Nexon EV Max is Rs 1.79 lakh more expensive than the Nexon EV, and is about 100 kgs heavier.Tata Nexon EV Max – Gets 30+ New FeaturesHowever, it could be higher if the company has carried out some targeted changes in the powertrain and other systems such as regenerative braking. Tata has ensured that the larger battery pack does not reduce boot space. It remains the same as earlier at 350-litre.With 437 km range, Nexon EV Max can emerge as an affordable alternative to MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona. Certified range of MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona are 461 km and 452 km, respectively.Tata Nexon EV Max – Two Variants on offerNexon EV Max power and torqueUsers can expect peppier performance with Nexon EV Max, as power and torque output has been increased to 143 hp and 250 Nm. That’s a gain of 14 hp and 5 Nm. Rival MG ZS EV numbers are at 177 PS / 280 Nm whereas Kona Electric generates 136 PS / 395 Nm.Tata Nexon EV Max at a glanceCharging options have been updated for Nexon EV Max. It includes a 3.3kWh portable charger that will be offered as standard. The limitation of this charger is that it will take around 15-16 hours to achieve a full charge. To get over this issue, Tata Motors is offering a more powerful 7.2kWh charger. Users have to pay an additional amount for this charger. It will reduce charging time to 6.5 hours.Tata Nexon EV Max SpecsNexon EV Max new featuresNew version of Nexon EV packs in a range of premium and hi-tech features. It includes illuminated gear knob with park mode, wireless charging, air purifier and cooled seats. Safety features include ESP, hill hold assist and electric parking brake. There will be two variants on offer, XZ+ and XZ+ Lux. Deliveries of Nexon EV Max are expected to commence soon. Bookings have opened, and first batch of Nexon EV Max is on its way to dealerships across India. More
