Hero Testing Xpulse 210 And Xtreme 210 Bikes? – Karizma Engine?

Hero Xpulse 210 spotted testingAfter launching Karizma XMR in India, Hero is experimenting with the same powertrain with Xpulse and Xtreme rangeIndia’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp aspires to add more depth to its premium portfolio. Jointly developed products like Harley-Davidson X440 have received favourable market response. Hero is yet to launch more premium bikes under its own brand. The new test mules spotted in the mountains are an embodiment of that strategy.Batter Xpulse – What to expect?Xpulse has emerged as a popular choice. The bike enjoys sort of a monopoly, being a proper off-roader at Rs 1.45 lakh (ex-sh). The Xpulse 200 4V Pro brings even more off-road-worthy kit at Rs 1.52 lakh (ex-sh). Xpulse 200 is currently the most successful bike in the company’s premium range. Recently launched Karizma XMR has also been receiving positive feedback from enthusiasts. Combining the two would make a tonne of sense. That is exactly what Hero seems to be doing. In the spy video, we can see a new ADV motorcycle with an identical body and componentry as Xpulse 200 4V on sale, but with a brand new engine. We can see a liquid-cooled setup with two channels leading to its two overhead camshafts. Hero only has one liquid-cooled DOHC engine, which is on Karizma XMR.As Xpulse is already popular, Hero could be looking to introduce a better version of the bike. It has similar features and components as Xpulse 200 4V such as a raised front beak, round LED headlamp with ‘H’ insignia, a long-travel suspension setup and knobby dual-purpose tyres. Spy video is credited to man.vs.tarmac Instagram channel. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Sumit Gaikwad (@man.vs.tarmac) This 210cc engine makes 25.5 bhp and 20.4 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Slip and assist clutch may be on offer too. Dual Channel ABS, not so sure. Xpulse owners had always craved more performance and a 6th gear for long-leggedness. Hero seems to have heard their feedback. Because this new Xpulse 210 is just that!Hero Xtreme 210 is in the works!Along with the ADV test mule, a street bike in full camouflage has been spotted. Hero is taking on rivals like Bajaj Pulsar and TVS Apache RTR range, with a naked street bike. Both the Xpulse 210 and naked bike use Karizma’s engine. The name Xtreme 210 is highly likely. It sports a similar stubby exhaust as Karizma XMR as well. Some of the key highlights of this upcoming Hero Xtreme 210 include fat road-biased tyres, alloy wheels, USD telescopic front forks, a wide handlebar, a sculpted fuel tank with muscular tank shrouds and a split seat design. The headlamp assembly is completely camouflaged. Maybe this new LED headlight setup is still in the works. LED turn indicators are present too.Same engine as Karizma XMR 210What about the third test mule? There’s a third test mule with camouflage present too. Also, a standard Xpulse 200 4V without any camouflage, can be a support vehicle in this convoy. This third test mule is hidden behind Xtreme 210 and begs the question of what it could be. As of now, it remains a mystery.A fully digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth-based connectivity features will be part of both test mules. Hero will spawn bigger Xpulse motorcycles too, with bigger body and bigger oil-cooled engines shared with Harley-Davidson X440. Those test mules were spied last year.Xtreme 210 test mule More

Royal Enfield Bobber 350 With Pillion Seat Accessory Spied Up-Close

Royal Enfield Bobber 350The same 349cc single-cylinder engine as other 350cc RE bikes will do duty on Royal Enfield Bobber 350 as well – With 20.2 bhp and 27 NmAfter the launch of Bullet 350, Royal Enfield is set to introduce a new 350cc motorcycle. However, this is not a new motorcycle. In typical Royal Enfield fashion of carving new vehicles out of the same core motorcycle, we will get a bobber-styled 350cc bike. The name Classic 350 Bobber or Bobber 350 are likely.Royal Enfield Bobber 350 With Pillion Seat AccessoryWith utter dominance in 350cc motorcycle segment, Royal Enfield is set to further fortify its portfolio with a niche product. We’re talking about Royal Enfield Bobber 350 which will probably be the most expensive 350cc RE in the portfolio when launched. It is an adaptation of its best-selling Classic 350. Hat tip to automotive enthusiast Ashok for sharing these exclusive spy shots.Royal Enfield Bobber 350In this sense, it is basically a Classic 350, but with Bobber style. It lacks proper Bobber attributes like an extended wheelbase and is highly likely to just be a design exercise. In this regard, Jawa has done a pretty good job with Perak and 42 Bobber. Both of these are proper Bobber motorcycles and not regular bikes with tall handlebars.Recent spy shots show Bobber 350 up close. We can see Royal Enfield is playing the retro card. We’re talking about white-walled tyres (or teal-coloured tyre walls) that scream retro and pay tribute to one of the standout elements of vehicles of the past.Royal Enfield Bobber 350It will probably get a single seat as standard with a pillion seat version as an option and offer a pillion seat as an accessory too. Buying either Bullet 350 or Classic 350 and installing Bobber 350’s handlebar could yield similar results as Bobber 350. Just saying. Side body panels, headlights, instrument cluster, switchgear, and everything are similar to Classic 350.Royal Enfield Bobber 350What is different between Bobber 350 and Classic 350?Wheelbase looks identical to that of Classic 350 along with fuel tank and body panels. The differences between the upcoming Bobber 350 and Classic 350 single-seater are with headlights, handlebars, seating, tyres and exhaust. Bobber 350 packs a slightly taller handlebar that is reminiscent of Bobber-style motorcycles.Seating is slightly different too with pillion seats being small and uncomfortable for long rides. It is to be noted that Royal Enfield is likely to offer Bobber 350 with a more comfortable pillion seat option as seen in previous spy shots. Pillion seat in recent spy shot seem to be an accessory. Exhaust has slightly different tips and the headlights are now LEDs.RSU telescopic front forks, dual rear shock absorbers, single disc brake setup at both ends, dual-channel ABS, wire-spoke wheels, and analogue instrument cluster, are similar to the ones seen with other Royal Enfield bikes. The 349cc single-cylinder engine with 20.2 bhp and 27 Nm, mated to a 5-speed gearbox will remain as is with Bobber 350 too. More

Rumours suggested that this new Pulsar could be powered by a derivative of Dominar 400 or new KTM Duke 390 engine. In the past we have seen Bajaj launching similar sized engine cc motorcycles with Pulsar which were already seen in the KTM range. After the KTM 200 launch we got the Pulsar 200. After the KTM 250 launch we got the Pulsar 250. Will we get the Pulsar 400 next?New Pulsar 300 Incoming?Sources tell Rushlane that the biggest Pulsar that is getting ready for launch is not Pulsar 400, but Pulsar 300. It will be powered by an all new 294cc engine. With the 300-400cc motorcycle segment registering strong growth, a number of OEMs are targeting this space. Some recent launches include Harley-Davidson X440 and Triumph Speed 400. TVS has also introduced the Apache RTR 310.Bajaj Pulsar 300 could get a new design – Not inspired by Pulsar 250Pulsar bikes have always been preferred for their dominating street presence and powerful performance. The approach will be largely the same for the upcoming 300cc Pulsar. Of course, being the biggest Pulsar, enthusiasts can expect some added dynamism and features. Pulsar 300 will be muscular and aggressive, designed to turn heads of the streets. It will get a digital instrument cluster and Bluetooth based connectivity functions. Bajaj could add USD front forks, while a monoshock unit will handle suspension duties at rear. Both ends will have disc brakes, integrated with dual-channel ABS. Even with its flagship bike Dominar 400, Bajaj has ensured the most affordable pricing. While the current Pulsar 250 twins are available at a starting price of Rs 1.50 lakh, the new Pulsar 300 will be priced above this, making it an irresistible deal for budding enthusiasts.Bajaj has been targeting the premium motorcycle segment for quite some time now. However, as seen with bikes like Dominar 400, results have not been as per expectations. Hopefully, the new 300cc Pulsar can help Bajaj emerge as a strong player in the premium segment. This year, Bajaj will be launching 6 new Pulsar motorcycles. The company is also planning to launch CNG commuter bikes, which can be real game changer in the two-wheeler industry. More

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 renderThe new 451.65cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine might generate 39.47 bhp of peak power at around 8,000 RPMADVs are one of the biggest rages in motorcycling world both here in India and abroad. Royal Enfield has tried to cater to this segment with Himalayan 411 and has found quite a success. There is a new Himalayan 450 on the horizon with a larger displacement, more kit and more performance. Finer details have leaked for the first time.Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 – More details leaked! There have been multiple spy shots of Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and we have a general perception of what to expect from this upcoming machine. However, it has now been homologated ahead of launch. Leaked report has divulged finer details about this upcoming ADV from Royal Enfield. These details include engine displacement, a few performance metrics, dimensions and more.Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Details LeakFor starters, Royal Enfield has homologated this new motorcycle as Himalayan 452. It will pack a 451.65cc single-cylinder engine. This engine is liquid-cooled and looks like it has a DOHC setup too. 4 valves per cylinder can be a reality as well. Peak power output is supposedly 39.47 bhp, accessed at a healthy 8,000 RPM.Dimensionally, Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 will measure 852 mm wide and has a 1,510 mm long wheelbase. Spy shots had revealed Himalayan 452’s long wheelbase and the leaked numbers seem to justify that. Royal Enfield is getting ready to launch the new Himalayan between October 30 and November 1 this year.Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 LeaksIs the name Himalayan 450 or Himalayan 452?Royal Enfield chose to call its scrambler motorcycle ‘Scram 411’, denoting its engine displacement. Going by that logic, the name Himalayan 452 is likely. For the first time, Royal Enfield is offering significant kit to their single-cylinder portfolio. Himalayan 452 will be the embodiment of this change, sporting many firsts for any single-cylinder RE bike or any Royal Enfield motorcycle in general.Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 LeaksWe’re talking about upcoming Himalayan being the first single-cylinder Royal Enfield to get USD telescopic front forks, fully digital instrument cluster, a 6-speed gearbox, active engine cooling of any sort, LED headlights and more. Upcoming Himalayan 452 is the first Royal Enfield motorcycle ever to get liquid-cooling, LED turn indicators and a fully digital instrument cluster. What will it pack? The new engine is of primary importance with this motorcycle. Other notable components include a trellis frame of sorts and off-road-worthy hardware like long travel suspension, switchable dual-channel ABS, engine protection, wire-spoke wheels, block-pattern tyres, luggage mounting points, tubular frame for jerry can mounts and more. There is scope for Himalayan 452 to be a good tourer as well. We say this because of the windscreen, upright riding posture, neutral footpeg positioning and provision to haul a lot of luggage. Pricing could be around Rs. 2.5 lakh mark (ex-sh). It will rival current ADV-styled motorcycles like 390 Adventure and the likes. But face stiff competition from upcoming Hero Xpulse 440. More

Biggest Pulsar Launch This Year, Says Rajiv Bajaj – Pulsar RS400, NS400?

Bajaj Pulsar 400 RenderAs of now, Bajaj Auto sell Pulsar branded motorcycles ranging between 125cc and 250cc in their engine displacementBajaj Auto MD, Rajiv Bajaj, has promised six new Pulsar motorcycle launches by the end of this financial year. Six new Pulsar motorcycles in itself, is a big deal for the brand. However, there is one Pulsar that could prove more prominent than the others. Rajiv Bajaj hinted at “biggest ever Pulsar” which might very well pack a 400cc engine.400cc Pulsar In The Works?Pulsar brand is one of the most popular among motorcycle enthusiasts in India and many markets across the world. As of now, Bajaj has launched Pulsar motorcycles ranging between 125cc and 250cc. At the lower tier, we have Pulsar 125 and Pulsar NS 125 and we have Pulsar RS200 and more recent Pulsar N250 and Pulsar F250 at the top tier.Bajaj Pulsar NS400 RenderAs revealed by Bajaj MD Rajiv Bajaj, we are getting “biggest ever Pulsar” among six new upcoming vehicles under Pulsar brand. Bajaj Auto intends to launch these by the end of this financial year. Mr Bajaj’s “biggest ever Pulsar” remark is highly likely to mean biggest Pulsar ever with respect to engine displacement, and not biggest Pulsar ever, in terms of size and dimensions.Going by that logic, Bajaj could launch a new Pulsar having an engine displacing more than 250cc. Considering Bajaj has already shared powertrain architectures with KTM, this new upcoming “biggest ever Pulsar” might share its powertrains with Triumph Speed 400 and KTM 390.[embedded content]The company currently sell Dominar 400 which is the biggest Bajaj yet. Dominar 400 shares its powertrain with previous-gen KTM 390 range. So, there is a good probability of this being a fully-faired version of Dominar 400, marketed under Pulsar brand as well. Another probability could be RS200 or NS200’s design and chassis, with a bigger engine. What does Rajiv Bajaj say about “biggest ever Pulsar”?In a recent interview, Bajaj Auto MD, Rajiv Bajaj, revealed there will be six new Pulsars by the end of this financial year. He promised that they have a fantastic product to offer Indian motorcycling enthusiasts. He intends to launch this motorcycle within this financial year so they get a full understanding of its growth and profitability by next year.In the same interview, Mr Bajaj mentioned the company is actively exploring more opportunities in premium motorcycle segment. This is a segment that goes beyond Rs. 1.7 lakh in value and has an engine that is generally beyond 200cc. This is where Bajaj’s current Pulsar RS 200, Dominar range fall, along with partner products from KTM, Husqvarna and Triumph. That said, prospect of a 400cc Pulsar at around Rs. 2 lakh (ex-sh) is very enticing. It could be equipped with a 399cc single-cylinder engine co-developed Triumph, marketed under Pulsar brand. USD telescopic front forks, dual-channel ABS, close to 40 bhp of power, 35 Nm of torque, slipper clutch, ride-by-wire throttle, full LED headlights might be its highlights. Launch is likely to happen in the coming months.Source, Render More

All this and more, work to harmonise a balanced ride experience.TVS Apache RTR 310 6-Axis IMU: The Brain Behind the RideRTR’s agility shines through whether navigating city traffic or tackling tight corners. However, the suspension felt slightly stiff on the smooth tarmac during the media ride in Bangkok. On the braking front, the bike delivers excellent bite, and the Dual ABS system performs its job effectively, ensuring reliable stopping power.TVS Apache RTR 310 ReviewMichelin Road 5 tyres deliver commendable grip, enhancing overall control. The traction control and cruise control systems perform effectively, contributing to a safe and smooth ride. Notably, TVS employs a sophisticated 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) that continually feeds crucial data to the bike’s CPU, including speed, angle, acceleration, and braking. This endows the bike with remarkable intelligence, enabling it to anticipate potential situations well in advance. For instance, when engaged in cruise control at 80 kmph and approaching a curve, the IMU processes the data to calculate the direction and angle of the curve. Consequently, it adjusts speed, ensuring a safe and controlled passage through the curve.TVS Apache RTR 310 ReviewRiding the RTR 310: Navigating the Power and Vibration SpectrumTVS Apache RTR 310 showcases a noticeable improvement over its predecessor, the Apache RR310. This enhancement is primarily attributed to its lighter weight, about 5 kgs less, and a tuned engine that delivers approximately 1.5 bhp/1.4 Nm more power. The power delivery is notably smooth, enabling the bike to accelerate effortlessly into triple-digit speeds. However, it’s at these higher speeds where vibrations become apparent.Unfortunately, TVS hasn’t successfully mitigated the vibration issue that has persisted within the 310 family from the outset. In fact, the new RTR 310 appears to exhibit more vibrations compared to the Apache RR 310. Despite this, the RTR 310’s improved power and peppy performance make it an enticing option.TVS Apache RTR 310 ReviewTriumph, Harley Davidson, and KTM in the Ring: TVS Apache RTR 310 ChallengersDemand for motorcycles in the 300-450cc segment is steadily increasing. Several new motorcycles have recently hit the market or are set to be launched in this segment. Royal Enfield, for instance, has refreshed its 350cc lineup and introduced the new Hunter 350 model. Additionally, they have plans to unveil the Himalayan 450 later this year. Triumph has entered this segment with the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400. Harley Davidson is here with the X440, and KTM has launched the new Duke 390. Most of these motorcycles will compete directly with the TVS Apache RTR 310.TVS Apache RTR 310 Review Verdict – TVS Apache RTR 310 – A Worthy Addition to the 310 LineupTVS Apache RTR 310 sets itself apart from the rest of the 310 family, avoiding the feeling of being a mere rebadge exercise. It offers a distinct riding experience and is feature rich. Within the city, it’s an absolute joy to ride, but it’s touring capabilities leave room for improvement. With prices ranging from Rs 2.42 lakh to over Rs 3 lakh for the fully loaded variant, the new TVS Apache RTR 310 represents a compelling option for those seeking a motorcycle in the 300cc-400cc segment. The much-awaited Ninja ZX-4R is here and is now the most affordable 4-cylinder motorcycle in India. Kawasaki ZX-4R costs Rs. 8.49 lakh (ex-sh) and undercuts the current most affordable faired 4-cylinder bike, Honda CBR650R, by Rs. 86,000.Kawasaki ZX-4R Launched – The only sub 500cc 4-cylinder bike in IndiaNew Ninja ZX-4R bears family genes and has semblance with other ZX motorcycles. The fairing is aggressive, yet has an understated hint of beauty to it. The proposition of a sub 500cc 4-cylinder motorcycle is rather exciting and Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R is the only bike of its kind in the Asian subcontinent.Ninja ZX-4R offers exhilarating and high-revving engine characteristics of a 4-cylinder motorcycle and ditches the added weight that is associated with middle-weights and lower-tier liter-class motorcycles. For reference, Honda CBR650R weighs 211 kg as it is a bigger capacity motorcycle. This takes power-to-weight ratio to the higher side.Speaking of power, Kawasaki ZX-4R packs a 399cc 4-cylinder engine with 74.4 bhp of power at 14,500 RPM and 39 Nm of torque at 13,000 RPM. This is a lot of engine speed for this displacement category, hence falling in screamer category. General thumb rule is that the smaller the pistons are, higher they revv.Kawasaki ZX-4R specsThere is a 6-speed gearbox along with a slip and assist clutch. Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC) gets three modes of selectable traction. Kawasaki calls Ninja ZX-4R as “India’s first 399cc In-line 4 beast”. The handsome fairing allows rider to tuck behind it with relative ease, offering optimum wind protection.India’s first 399cc In-line 4 BeastRider’s triangle is fairly committed with low-set clip-on handlebars and rear-set footpegs. The split seat option offers decent wiggle room for rider to move about. Componentry includes USD telescopic front forks, rear mono-shock suspension, dual disc brake setup at the front and a single disc brake at the rear, dual-channel ABS and more. All of these components are mounted on a trellis frame that should allow spirited riding and sharp corner carving. Features list is pretty high as well. Kawasaki is offering a TFT instrument cluster that supports Bluetooth connectivity that enables music control, notification alert and turn-by-turn navigation. There is a Circuit Mode too, for track aficionados.Kawasaki ZX-4R goes up against Honda CBR650R, priced at Rs. 9.35 lakh (ex-sh). Similarly priced street naked Kawasaki Z900 could be a potential rival too. But Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R only weighs 188 kg, which is among its primary strengths. More
