Royal Enfield Bear 650 Scrambler Spied – Yellow and White Dual Tone Colour

Royal Enfield Bear 650 ScramblerUpcoming Royal Enfield Interceptor Bear 650 Scram will have multiple distinctive features in comparison to RE’s existing 650cc bikes
Royal Enfield is working on several new bikes across the 350cc, 450cc and 650cc segments. In the 650cc space, one of the most anticipated motorcycle launches is a new scrambler model. It will go on sale as the Interceptor Bear 650. The name was registered last year in 2023.
Royal Enfield Interceptor Bear 650 Scram – Styling and features
Test mules have been spotted frequently in recent months, indicating that the bike will be launched soon. Now, a fully undisguised, production-ready version has leaked online – donning dual tone paint scheme of yellow and white with black stripes on the fuel tank and blue coloured seat.
    Royal Enfield Bear 650 Scrambler
A quick glance reveals that the new scrambler bike has the DNA of Interceptor 650. Some of the borrowed equipment includes the fuel tank and the tubular steel chassis. However, as the Interceptor Bear 650 will have relatively better off-roading capabilities, it gets a more robust suspension setup.
One of the key differences is longer suspension travel, as compared to other 650cc bikes from Royal Enfield. Interceptor Bear 650 gets USD forks at front and dual rear shock absorbers. In comparison, the existing Interceptor 650 has telescopic front forks. The dual rear shock absorbers seem common, but the Bear 650 has a new spring/damper unit. It does not get the gas reservoirs in use with existing Interceptor 650.
Royal Enfield Scrambler 650 Interceptor Bear Spied
Interceptor Bear 650 is likely to be offered with 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels. These are shod with knobby profiled dual-purpose tubeless tyres. With a new suspension setup and tyres, it appears that Interceptor Bear 650 will have better off-roading capabilities. It should be able to handle mild off-road tracks with ease.
    New equipment
Talking about some of the unique aspects of Interceptor Bear 650, the bike has a two-into-one exhaust setup. The perforated heat shield is functionally relevant and also enhances the bike’s rugged character. The merged exhaust setup is a first for a Royal Enfield bike. It will ensure an agile performance across both urban roads and off-road tracks. With the new exhaust, the bike will be lighter, which in turn will increase its power to weight ratio.
Another feature that adds more dynamism is the oval, race-style number boards. Other key highlights of Interceptor Bear 650 include circular headlamp, all-LED lighting, circular rear-view mirrors, braced handlebar, tear-drop shaped fuel tank, new mudguards and an upswept exhaust. Overall, Royal Enfield Interceptor Bear 650 looks attractive with its minimalistic, neo-retro aesthetics. Tech kit will include a circular TFT instrument screen. Something similar to that of Himalayan 450 and Guerrilla 450. With the Royal Enfield app, users will be able to access various connected features including full map navigation.
Royal Enfield Interceptor Bear 650 – Performance
Engine will be the same as other 650cc Royal Enfield bikes. The 648cc, inline twin cylinder, 4-stroke, SOHC unit churns out 47 PS and 52.3 Nm. It is offered with a 6-speed gearbox. Overall ride dynamics could be relatively better, owing to the bike’s lightweight profile and distinct ergonomics. Debut is likely to take place at the EICMA 2024 next month.

Royal Enfield Himalayan Rally Racer Debuts – Piloted By CS Santosh

Royal Enfield Himalayan Rally RacerThe Himalayan Rally racer is likely featuring a modified Sherpa 450 engine, kicking out more performance than the stock bike’s 40 bhp and 40 Nm
Royal Enfield’s 450cc platform has been a popular one and has now spawned a rally racer model. The first images of the upcoming bike have now been revealed from the Spanish Cuenca rally. Earlier, enthusiasts had witnessed a modified Himalayan 450 at the Swank Rally Di Sardegna, held in Italy.
Himalayan Rally Racer – Styling and features
From the images, it is evident that the Himalayan Rally racer model is in initial stages of development. The Spanish Cuenca rally is likely being used as a testing ground to identify the bike’s strengths and weaknesses. And with the renowned CS Santosh piloting the bike, some valuable feedback can be gained. Based on that, the necessary changes can be introduced in the rally-spec Himalayan.
    Royal Enfield Himalayan Rally-Spec Bike
In its current form, rally-spec Himalayan comes across as a stripped-down version of the Himalayan 450. Some accessories from RE’s rally kit can be seen. The bike has knobby, rally-spec tyres and long-travel suspension. It is likely that the rally-spec Himalayan 450 will have different suspension and braking setup in comparison to the stock version.
Images reveal that the side racks seen on the stock model have been removed. This improves handling and control across off-road tracks. A rally tower has been added at the front, something that is used to store rally essentials such as a road book. The production version of rally-spec Himalayan 450 could get digital GPS systems with advanced navigation functions.
    Royal Enfield Himalayan Rally-Spec Bike
There can be various other possibilities such as a long-range fuel tank, reinforced frame and suspension and higher ground clearance. Rally-spec accessories such as skid plates and crash bars could be made available with the production model. Lighting systems could be upgraded to ensure improved visibility across low light / dark conditions.
    Rally-spec Himalayan 450 – Performance
Visually, the engine appears to be the same as seen with the standard Himalayan 450. It also has the OEM radiator guard. However, given the gruelling conditions rally bikes have to endure, it is likely that the engine will see significant internal upgrades. For example, power output can be boosted to more than 50 hp.
    Royal Enfield Himalayan Rally-Spec Bike
Rally bikes have high low-end torque, which allows enhanced control at slow speeds. Another common feature is wide-ratio gearboxes, designed to accommodate both crawling at low speeds and high-speed riding. In its stock form, Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 generates 40 hp and 40 Nm, mated to a 6-speed gearbox, slipper clutch and ride-by-wire throttle.
It can take a couple of years or more for the rally-spec Himalayan 450 to reach production stage. The bike will need to be tested thoroughly, including participation in various other rally events, before it can be perfected. At the 2024 Rallye TT Cuenca, rally-spec Himalayan 450 came at 30th spot in its category. In the future, enthusiasts can even get to see the rally-spec Himalayan 450 at the Dakar Rally. Royal Enfield had hinted at it, although no official plans have been revealed. More

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Gets Tubeless Tyres – New Wire Spoke Wheels Launched

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Gets Tubeless TyresWith the addition of tubeless tyres, Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 has increased its appeal among the touring and off-roading community
Ever since it was launched, Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 has had exceptional response from motorcycling fraternity. However, there were a few criticisms associated with it as well. Primary of them is the lack of tubeless tyres. The company had been in the process of homologating them and they’re finally launched.
    Himalayan 450 Gets Tubeless Tyres
When Royal Enfield launched the Himalayan 450, this adventure motorcycle came equipped with wire-spoke wheels as standard fitment. These wire-spoke wheels were not compatible with tubeless tyres. However, there was a tubeless wire-spoke wheel under the process of homologation, which has finally launched now.
Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Gets Tubeless Tyres – price List
Both potential Himalayan 450 buyers and existing owners can get their hands on these new tubeless wire-spoke wheels. New Himalayan 450 buyers can get their hands on these tubeless wire-spoke wheels as MiY option. With this option, pricing of Himalayan 450 will start from a starting price of Rs 2.96 lakh (Ex-sh).
This is a Rs 11,000 increment over the tube-type tyre equipped model that started from Rs 2.85 lakh (Ex-sh). Existing Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 owners can buy these newly homologated and launched tubeless wire-spoke wheels via the company’s GMA (Genuine Motorcycle Accessories) catalog.
    New Himalayan 450 Side Profile
Price set for this accessory by the company is Rs 12,424. With the tubeless wire-spoke wheels, riders get an added safety net and is a major weapon against unexpected punctures, while still exploiting the off-road ability offered by wire-spoke wheels. The off-roading expeditions can be a little more worry-free than they used to be before.
    Any other changes?
Other than the new tubeless wire-spoke wheels, Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 continues to be the same. It is powered by the same Sherpa 450 engine displacing 452cc. It is a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled DOHC 4V engine generating 40.02 PS of max power and 40 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox with slipper clutch.
Even with the addition of tubeless tyres, Himalayan 450 retains its off-roading prowess as the wheels are still of wire-spoke construction. This tubeless wire-spoke wheel option used to be only offered in export markets.
Royal Enfield New Himalayan Front Quarter
Notable componentry includes USD telescopic front forks, rear mono-shock, disc brake setup at either ends, dual channel ABS and more. Features-wise, Royal Enfield is still giving the circular Tripper Dash as standard fitment, which is not the case with recently launched Guerrilla 450. In the recent times, Guerrilla 450 has surpassed Himalayan sales and the addition of tubeless wire-spoke wheels should help boost sales. More

Positioned as an affordable option in the 650cc range, the Classic 650 promises to carry forward Royal Enfield’s legacy of blending vintage aesthetics with modern performance.
    New Royal Enfield Classic 650
The motorcycle features a classic, timeless design with a circular headlamp, wide handlebar, curvy fuel tank, retro-styled front and rear fenders, and circular tail lamps. Powertrain and Features
The Classic 650 will be powered by a 648cc parallel-twin engine that delivers 47 PS of power and 52.3 Nm of torque. This engine is shared with Royal Enfield’s other 650cc models like the Interceptor and Continental GT. It’s expected to offer smooth gear shifts and a strong low-end performance, ideal for cruising. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox, and like other RE bikes, it could have a similar exhaust note with the classic “thump.”
    New Royal Enfield Classic 650
A tubular steel frame will support the motorcycle, offering optimal stability and a comfortable ride experience. The braking setup is likely to consist of a 320 mm front disc and 300 mm rear disc, with dual-channel ABS as standard. In terms of suspension, it has conventional telescopic front forks and preload-adjustable twin shocks at the rear.
    Pricing and Competition
Royal Enfield Classic 650 is expected to be priced around Rs 3.5 lakhs, positioning it as an affordable option in the REs range of 650cc motorcycle. Thanks to this competitive price, it is unlikely to offer premium features like USD forks or the Tripper navigation pod as standard. However, the Tripper navigation pod may be available through the brand’s Make It Yours (MIY) customization program.
    New Royal Enfield Classic 650
The Classic 650 will expand Royal Enfield’s stronghold in the middleweight segment, offering an accessible alternative for those who want a bigger displacement classic-style motorcycle without breaking the bank. These spy shots further solidify the company’s strategy to cater to a broader audience by blending heritage design with modern performance, making the Classic 650 a highly anticipated model for 2024. This was a steep decline of 4.80% YoY and 4.33% MoM from 14,616 units and 14.091 units sold in August 2023 and July 2024 respectively. Despite this decline, the Hunter holds a significant 20.57% share in the company’s domestic market.
RE Bullet and Meteor 350 followed in quick succession with 8,660 units and 6,785 units in terms of sales. Both these models suffered both YoY and MoM decline. This could be due to the fact that Royal Enfield plans to introduce new Bullet 350 and Meteor 350 following launch of the Classic 350 Facelift.
Royal Enfield Sales Breakup Aug 2024 – MoM Performance
Overwhelming demand was seen for the RE 650 Twins, Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. Sales improved by 370.18% on a YoY basis to 2,586 units, up from 550 units sold in August 2023. MoM sales also surged 21.29% from 2,132 units sold in July 2024.

On a MoM basis, both these models also saw lower sales by 2.80% and 30.24% respectively. More

Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 Beats Himalayan 450 In Sales

Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 Beats Himalayan 450Both Himalayan 450 and Guerrilla 450 are based on the same Sherpa 450 platform, powered by a 452cc engine with around 40 bhp and 40 Nm
Ever since Royal Enfield has launched Guerrilla 450 in India, it has received an excellent reception among the motorcycling community. Once known for pretty-looking retro motorcycles with outdated technology, Royal Enfield has turned the tides around and has developed the Sherpa 450 platform.
The first vehicle based on this platform was Himalayan 450 and Guerrilla 450 was launched more recently. The popularity of Guerrilla 450 is such that it has surpassed Himalayan 450 sales in just a couple of months since it first went on sale. Let’s take a look at the finer statistics of this development.
Guerrilla 450 Beats Himalayan 450 In Sales
There are a multitude of reasons why Guerrilla 450 might have surpassed Himalayan 450 in sales. Before diving into that, we need to glance over the sales and statistics of these motorcycles. In July 2024, Royal Enfield sold a total of 60,755 units. Out of these, Himalayan 450 sold 2,769 units and Guerrilla 450 sold 1,469 units.
In July 2024, Himalayan 450 was still in the lead by 1,300 units. However, that doesn’t paint the full picture. It gets interesting when we bring sales analysis data into the picture. In July 2024, Himalayan had registered a 12.68% YoY decline as opposed to 3,171 units sold in July 2023. Losing 402 units in volume YoY.
    Guerrilla 450
Not just that, there was a 9.57% MoM decline as well, with over 3,062 units sold in June 2024, losing 293 units in volume. Guerrilla 450 on the other hand was taking off, where sales are concerned. If we look at August 2024 sales, Himalayan 450 sold 2,009 units, while Guerrilla 450 climbed up the ladder with 2,205 units.
However, more interesting stats come from Himalayan’s sales analysis in August 2024. Sales of this popular ADV almost halved YoY when compared to 3,856 units sold in August 2023 with a 47.90% YoY drop and 1,847 units lost in volume. Even MoM, Himalayan 450 registered a 27.45% drop in sales, losing 760 units in volume.
Guerrilla 450, on the other hand, registered a 50.10% MoM growth, with 736 units gained in volume. This might be an indication that Indian motorcycling enthusiasts are preferring Guerrilla 450 over Himalayan 450.
    Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450
    Why though?
There are many reasons why motorcycling enthusiasts might be considering a Guerrilla 450 over a Himalayan 450. Primary reason might be the price, as Guerrilla 450 undercuts Himalayan 450 by Rs 46,000 (Ex-sh). Styling and positioning might be a reason too. Owing to its Roadster genre, Guerrilla 450 comes out as a daily machine, while Himalayan looks too focused on touring and off-roading.
Sticking with daily machine theory, Guerrilla 450 is 11 kg lighter than Himalayan 450. While that is not a lot of weight-saving, it makes a difference in the long run. The Roadster’s seat height is a more accessible 780 mm, while Himalayan’s goes till 845 mm. Guerrilla is smaller in size with fatter tyres, lending user-friendly dynamics.

Royal Enfield Bullet 350 Battalion Black Launched – More Retro Than Before!

Bullet 350 Battalion BlackFor this new colour option of Battalion Black, Royal Enfield has also focused on enhancing the bike’s retro profile with a new seat
One of the popular 350cc bikes, Royal Enfield Bullet 350 has received a new colour option of Battalion Black. With this addition, users can now choose from a total of five black shades. The other shades in the palette are Standard Black, Standard Maroon, Black Gold, Military Black, Military Red, and Military SilverRed and Military SilverBlack.
    Bullet 350 Battalion Black – What’s new?
Among the black shades available for Bullet 350, the most affordable is the Military Black. In terms of purely the colour code, there doesn’t seem to be any difference between the Military Black and the new Battalion Black. However, the latter gets some updates, focused primarily on improving the bike’s retro aesthetics.
One can notice the change in the seat design, something that was seen with the earlier generations of Bullet motorcycles. Bullet 350 Battalion Black has a lower seat height and improved lumbar support for the rider. This retro seat design was originally seen with the 500cc Bullet launched in 1989.
From the rider’s perspective, this seat design can be more comfortable for longer journeys. It appears that Royal Enfield is targeting users who may like the retro feel of old Bullet models. This seat design was also seen with 350 Bullet Machismo (1990), Bullet Electra 350 (2002) and Bullet 500 (2013).
    Bullet 350 Battalion Black
New Bullet 350 launched last year has a relatively modern seat design. It can be comfier, but the retro feel seems to be missing. Another update with the new Bullet 350 Battalion Black model is a polygonal tail lamp. All other colour variants of Bullet 350 have a circular tail lamp. The refreshed tail lamp is another reminder of the bike’s rich history. With the first model produced in 1932, Bullet 350 is the world’s oldest motorcycle in continuous production.
    Improved visuals
Bullet 350 Battalion Black has chrome accents on the headlamp unit, suspension, turn signals and handlebar. The brake and clutch levers, exhaust pipe, crankcase and wire spoke wheels are in chrome finish. This presents an exciting contrast that is visually appealing. The rear-view mirrors are blacked-out, which is another distinct feature of the Battalion Black model.
Bullet 350 new black model has 3D badging on the fuel tank and side panels. The bike also gets golden pinstriping on the fuel tank, both on the sides and top section. In terms of performance, there are no changes to the new Battalion Black model. Bullet 350 gets power from a 349cc, single cylinder air-oil cooled engine. It generates 20.2 bhp and 27 Nm and is mated to a 5-speed constant mesh gearbox.
    Bullet 350 Battalion Black
Bullet 350 Battalion Black has front disc and rear drum brakes, with single channel ABS. Higher variants of Bullet 350 are offered with dual disc brakes and dual-channel ABS. Royal Enfield is also working on a new 650cc Bullet. It is expected to go on sale as the Bullet 650 Twin. Test mules have been spotted frequently in recent months and launch is expected next year.
