Revolt Electric Motorcycle Network To Expand To 35 Cities – New Investments

    Revolt Electric Motorcycle
Having acquired a acquires substantial strategic stake in Revolt Intellicorp lets RattanIndia mark its entry in the EV space
RattanIndia Enterprises has announced its electric vehicle market entry through an association with Revolt Intellicorp. The arrangement saw RattanIndia acquire a substantial strategic stake in Revolt Intellicorp Pvt Ltd. This will see the company hold 50 percent board presence in Revolt. And Rajiv Rattan will be chairman of the board of Revolt.
Revolt is working in a niche market in India. For starters when most manufacturers chose to introduce electric scooters, Revolt marked its market entry with electric motorcycles. At the time of launch, the new auto manufacturer found no competition. And while the arena was a new one, Revolt has relied on tech to get forward in a space that’s going to see much movement in the years to come.
    Revolt RV300 and RV400
With a goldmine of data to depend on, Revolt Intellicorp will now leverage its position in the newly minted collab to expand its footprint in India. It depends on next-gen mobility solutions steeped in tech. This helped with its maiden launch, the first AI-enabled motorcycle. For RattanIndia Enterprises, this is a first of its kind investment in a new age manufacturing business.
The fresh capital infusion will be earmarked for distributor and service network expansion across 35 cities. Using AI, the company looks forward to creating a world-class contactless experience for customers. The investment furthers Revolt’s quest to support innovation and tech in clean next-gen mobility solutions in the area of daily commute.

This with the aim of being affordable and accessible. Revolt currently sells RV300 for about 95k through a one time payment plan, and RV400 for Rs 1.19 lakhs.
For those choosing a monthly payment plan, total payment works out to a bit more. For RattanIndia though this is a first of its kind investment, the company will continue to invest money in such new age businesses.
    Revolt expansion to 35 cities
While FY21 has been a difficult period, Revolt Intellicorp was able to expand its presence to 6 cities across India. The new partnerships is in line with the company’s vision to offer eco-friendly transportation solutions. And at the same time help expand the manufacturer’s market outreach to far more cities.
Rajiv Rattan, Founder and Chairman of RattanIndia Group, said, “We are very excited to join hands with Revolt Intellicorp and be a part of the electric mobility shift which is undoubtedly poised to be at the forefront of India’s next green revolution. We firmly believe that speed of adoption of EVs’ in the country will be beyond anybody’s imagination.” More

  • Revolt Electric Mumbai Launch Confirmed in Latest Teaser

Mumbai will be the sixth city in India, where Revolt has their electric motorcycle on sale
When Revolt Motors got in on the action, they started in a phased manner. Operations started first in Pune, and Delhi, followed by Ahmedabad, Chennai, and Hyderabad. While initial plans pointed to a Mumbai launch in March end, Covid-19 pandemic related lockdown warranted industry-wide launch revisions. The wait is now over, and business in Mumbai starts in a few days (expected launch date 30th August).

Following launch in August 2019, Revolt RV400 electric price was revised to Rs 1,03,999, ex-sh, up 5k from Rs 98,999, ex-sh introductory price. Applicable to the one time payment option, customers need to take into account one time booking amount of Rs 3,999. Battery warranty, and for that matter, drive range anxiety are considerable buyer concerns at this stage when the EV industry finds few customers. To make things simple, Revolt sells RV400 premium variant, and RV300 base variant. The premium variant is offered in 4 sound options for the bike – Revolt, Rebel, Roar, and Rage.

For now, Revolt has a clear advantage in the market. As an early mover, the company is able to advance without any competition, and is paving the way for the segment to exist being a lone electric motorcycle available on sale in the country.
Other electric motorcycles that have been shown either as ready to be launched or as concept include Tork T6X, Hero AE-47, Okinawa Oki100, One Electric Kridn, Benling electric bike, and Evolet Hawk amongst others. As the segment develops, it’s evident that a range of new companies are entering the market.
Revolt RV300 features a 1.5kW hub motor, 60-volt, 2.7 kWh lithium-ion battery, and RV400 runs on a 3kW motor mounted inside the frame with a 72-volt, 3.24 kWh battery. Revolt RV400 ground clearance stands at 215 mm. The portable battery setup in use can be fully charged (0-100 percent) in 4.5 hours, and uses 3 units of electricity through a 15 Ampere socket.
    Revolt RV400 high-speed 2-wheeler segment
From the outset, Revolt had introduced a subscription model that required no down payment. RV300 is available for Rs 2,999 per month and RV400 is on sale at 3,999 per month. As partial sales resumed in July 2020, Revolt Motors has posted sales of less than 200 units in both June, and July 2020.
In the high-speed 2-wheeler segment, Revolt RV300 and RV400 faces no direct competition as yet as all other offerings are scooters. FADA reported retail segment sales (others including EV) at 1,380 units for July 2020. 2020 YTD sales sees high-speed scooter sales from multiple manufacturers exceed that of the Revolt motorcycles. Revolt electric motorcycle deliveries start in Chennai and Ahmedabad

Revolt RV400 has a top speed of 85 kmph and has a range of 150 km on a full charge
With lockdown underway, and reinforcement of lockdown in regions where it has been lifted partially, business operations are being forced to be revised. When Revolt Intellicorp began business, they were going from city to city in a planned manner. Those plans too have had to be reassessed so as to function under current directives.

Under current circumstances, Revolt has delivered its first batch of electric bikes to buyers in Ahmadabad and Chennai. In Ahmedabad, the EV brand operates out of Revolt Hub Naroda and Revolt Hub Himalaya Mall. The same is true for Chennai where the company operates out of Revolt Hub Velachery and Revolt Hub Anna Nagar.
Revolt RV400 and RV300 delivery plans
As part of expansion, Revolt Intellicorp was set to enter four new markets by March 2020. Initially the bikes were made available in Pune and Delhi in August 2019. While the company was all set to began dispatches of RV400 and RV300 to other cities, the lockdown in March put plans on hold. As per an update back then, the company was set to start ops in Ahmadabad on February 29, Hyderabad on March 2, Chennai on March 5, and Mumbai by end of March.

Revolt electric motorcycle delivery start in Ahmedabad, Chennai
At the time, the company had also spoken about reduction in RV400 waiting period from 5 months to just 90 days for orders taken in March. Of course, that estimate now stands revised with production having been hampered, and previous dispatches still being sorted.
With curiosity around electric vehicles, in recent years it’s electric scooters that have made some headway when it comes to acceptance as compared to electric cars. While the electric scooter space has multiple competitors, and is shaping up as a scooter subset industry, electric motorcycles are somewhat of a concept with hardly any manufacturers. That is Revolt Motor’s USP.
