Sub 200cc Kawasaki Motorcycle Spied In Pune – Launch Expected This Year

Kawasaki W15 Spied In Pune by Navin SanilWhile Kawasaki hasn’t released an official timeline for the launch of W175, sources suggest launch to take place around the festive season
Late last year, it was reported that Kawasaki will be bringing a new entry-level motorcycle to India in the form of W175. A few weeks later, test mules of the retro-style classic motorcycle were spotted testing on the country roads. Since then, there has been no development regarding the launch of W175.
However, a testing prototype of W175 fully wrapped under camouflage got caught on camera in Pune. Hat tip to automotive enthusiast Navin Sanil for sharing these spy shots. From the looks of it, the bike appeared to be an almost production-ready prototype with all its traditional design elements.
    Retro Styling
Speaking of its design, the sub 200cc Kawasaki motorcycle carries a modern approach to retro styling with notable highlights such as round headlamps, teardrop-shaped fuel tank, single-piece seat with a ribbed pattern, wire-spoked wheels, a single-pod round instrument cluster and circular rearview mirrors. The side-on exhaust with a thin nozzle-head muffler must produce a lovely throaty note.
The handlebar, seat and footpegs put the rider in a natural position, contributing to rider comfort and making W175 ideal for a wide range of riding conditions. It is offered with a conventional round analogue instrument cluster with a “W” emblem inside.
    Kawasaki W15 Spied In Pune
The console reads out information from the trip meter, speedometer and odometer. At rear, it features a squared-off taillight with similar round turn indicators as spotted in front.
Engine and other mechanical parts such as swingarm, suspension setup, leg guard and exhaust have been painted in black which lends the bike a sporty appeal. Also giving it a retro vibe are fork gaiters in the front suspension unit. The India-spec model also gets a conventional single-piece grab rail which is not offered in the model retailed in international markets.
    Mechanical Specs
The bike is powered by a 177cc air-Cooled, single-cylinder engine that kicks out 13.05 bhp at 7500rpm and a peak torque of 13.2 Nm at 6000rpm and is paired with a 5-speed gearbox. While output figures are very modest, a low kerb weight of just 126 kilos should offer a decent enough performance. Hardware comprises telescopic forks at front and twin gas-charged shock absorbers at rear.
    Kawasaki W15 Spied In Pune
Braking duties are handled by a single front disc and rear drum brake. If and when launched in India, W175 is expected to be more than 90 percent localised which will help the Japanese bikemaker price it aggressively. At the time of launch, it could carry a sticker price of Rs 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom). More

2022 Kawasaki Vulcan S Cruiser Debut – New Colour, Cafe Variant Added

2022 Kawasaki Vulcan S CruiserKawasaki currently offers Vulcan S in India at a price of Rs 6.04 lakh (ex-showroom)
Kawasaki has launched an updated avatar of Vulcan S in the USA. While the middleweight cruiser has always been a piece of eye candy for retro bike lovers, the latest update makes it even more attractive. That said, the new Vulcan S only gets a wardrobe upgrade and no mechanical changes underneath.
The updates are purely aesthetic which consist of two new colour options namely Pearl Robotic White and Metallic Matte Graphite Grey. Apart from these new shades of colour, the Japanese bikemaker has also added a new Cafe variant which gets a handful of cosmetic tweaks and a new paint scheme over the standard model.
    Updated Colour Schemes
Having said that, there aren’t any significant changes to the new Cafe trim. It wears a unique triple-tone paint scheme comprising Ebon, Pearl Robotic White, and Candy Steel Furnace Orange colours. The bike also benefits from a short and dark tinted windscreen which lends it a sportier appeal. The standard model, on the other hand, is exactly similar to the outgoing model barring the new colour options.
The Pearl Robotic White paint scheme, as the name suggests, gets a predominantly white colour with cool blue livery on the fuel tank and radiator shrouds with blue/white pinstripes slapped onto the alloy wheels. The cruiser in this colour option looks icy sharp from each angle. Moving to the other option, the Metallic Matte Graphite Grey paint scheme wears a signature Kawasaki look with the use of black and green colours.
    2022 Kawasaki Vulcan S Cruiser
    Similar Styling & Features
Vulcan S continues to flaunt its signature styling elements such as an inverted triangular headlight, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, underbelly exhaust muffler and black rearview mirrors which match with the bike’s frame. The cruiser remains an ergonomically friendly bike as riders can adjust the handlebar, footpegs, and seat according to their preference.
The middleweight cruiser gets a semi-digital console that features an analogue tachometer and an LCD display for readouts like speed, odometer, trip meter, ABS status, fuel gauge, etc. Sadly it does miss out on a TFT instrument console like other modern Kawasaki bikes which is offered with smartphone connectivity.
    Mechanical Specs
2022 Vulcan S is still powered by the same 649 cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that delivers an output of 60 bhp at 7,500rpm and a peak torque of 62.4 Nm at 6,600rpm. This unit is paired with a six-speed gearbox. Suspension duties are handled by 41 mm telescopic forks at front and a 7-step preload adjustable off-set mono-shock at rear.
Kawasaki has priced the updated Vulcan S starting at $7,299 (approx. INR 5.5 lakh) for the standard trim while the Cafe variant comes at $7,899 (approx. INR 5.9 lakh). While there are no updates as of now, we can expect the latest iteration of Vulcan S to hit Indian markets by the end of this year. More

2022 Kawasaki Z125 Pro Launched In The US At USD 3.3k (Rs 2.45 L)

    2022 Kawasaki Z125 PRO
2022 Kawasaki Z125 is aimed at entry-level young riders as a learner’s motorcycle
Kawasaki has launched the 2022 Z125 Pro in USA at a price of USD 3,299 which is equivalent to INR 2.45 lakh. The mini moto is a direct rival to Honda Grom 125 and will serve as an entry-level model to the Japanese bikemaker’s Z range of naked motorcycles. It is unlikely to launch in India anytime soon.
The new model comes with a fair share of updates, most of which are cosmetic in nature. That said, the overall design of the mini bike is retained with an aggressive streetfighter styling masked under its miniature size. It gets a standard halogen headlight that looks sporty at the outset.
    Styling & Features
The aggressive styling is compounded by the motorcycle’s distinctive fuel tank shrouds and sharp lower cowl. While we are not sure if this one is small enough to be categorised as a ‘Monkey’, its diminutive size is enough to stress out the muscles of taller riders if they rode one for a long duration.
Some other styling highlights include golden coloured front forks, an LED taillight, an underbelly exhaust, an underbelly pan, designer alloy wheels and a single-piece saddle with a strap in the middle. The latest iteration of Z125 is available in three colour options including Metallic Flat Spark Black, Pearl Shining Yellow and a dual-tone Pearl Robotic White/Candy Plasma Blue.
    2022 Kawasaki Z125 PRO
What enhances its sporty appeal are the funky body graphics on tank shrouds. In terms of features, it gets a semi-digital instrument with a digital LCD screen and an analogue tachometer with an integrated fuel gauge and gear position indicator.
    Mechanical Specs
2022 Kawasaki Z125 Pro derives its energy from a 125cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine which generates 14.5 bhp and 9.62 Nm of peak torque. This motor is paired with a 4-speed gearbox.
Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks at front and an adjustable mono-shock at rear. Anchorage is carried out by petal-shaped disc brakes of 200mm and 184mm rotors at front and rear respectively. Unfortunately, there is no ABS to assist the disc brakes.
    Honda Grom Specs
In comparison to Z125 Pro, the recently updated Honda Grom is powered by a 9.57 bhp and 10.9 Nm of peak torque. The mini moto is coupled with a 4-speed gearbox. Riding on 12-inch wheels, the bike is supported by 31mm USD forks and a rear monoshock. Braking duties are handled by 220mm and 190mm disc brakes at the front and rear, respectively. More

2021 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R Debuts With New Colour Options

2021 Kawasaki ZX25RKawasaki Ninja ZX-25R is by far the most powerful quarter-litre superbike in the global market
Kawasaki has launched the latest 2021 iteration of Ninja ZX-25R with an updated colour palette in Indonesia. The baby Ninja made its global debut in July last year and has richly earned applauds from all quarters. The fully-faired motorcycle is exclusively made in Indonesia and is currently retailed in a few select international markets.
    New Colour Options
The 250cc lightweight supersport motorcycle has been termed as an efficient track machine as well as a good daily commuter. It is retailed in two trims-Standard and Special Edition. For 2021, the Japanese superbike manufacturer has introduced new paint schemes. The Standard version is available only in Metallic Spark Black finish.
On the other hand, the top-spec model of ZX-25R Special Edition is offered in three colour options including Lime green/Pearl blizzard white, metallic graphene steel gray, and probably the most attractive of them all Passion red/pearl blizzard white.
Other than the updated colour palette there has been no changes made to this mini sports bike. The motorcycle retains its overall design in its latest iteration. In fact, its design is somewhat similar to the standard Ninja 400.
    2021 Kawasaki ZX25R
Prices for the 2021 iteration of ZX-25R starts at IDR 98,850,000 (approx. INR 5.10 lakh) for the standard non-ABS trim and IDR 116,000,000 (approx. INR 6 lakh) for the Special Edition variant which comes with ABS. While there are a host of entry-level quarter-litre superbikes in the market, it holds a unique distinction of packing an inline-4 cylinder liquid-cooled 250cc engine underneath.
    ZX-25R Specs & Features
The 250cc motor delivers a mind-boggling 51 bhp at 15,500rpm and a peak torque of 22.9 Nm at 14,500 rpm. This unit is paired to a 6-speed gearbox with an assist and slipper clutch for smooth and precise gearshifts.
Speaking of its hardware, its suspension setup comprises 37mm USD forks from Showa with Separate Function Fork-Big Piston at front whereas a backlink gas-charged shock absorber with spring preload adjustability is placed at rear.
Braking is taken care of by a 310 mm radially mounted single disc brake with four pistons at the front and a 220 mm single rotor with a single calliper at the rear wheel. A dual-channel ABS handles safety but only in the top trim. Ninja ZX-25R has a very accessible saddle height of 785mm. At a kerb weight of 182kg, it is interestingly heavier than Ninja 300 and Ninja 400. Some of the features on offer include traction control, a bi-directional quick-shifter, electronic throttle valves and power modes. More

2021 Kawasaki Ninja H2R BS6 Launched In India At Rs 79.90 Lakh

2021 Kawasaki Ninja H2R BS6Kawasaki Ninja H2R has no direct rival in the Indian market and has been strictly built for track usage
Kawasaki has announced the prices for the 2021 Ninja H2R in India. The track focussed motorcycle has been tagged at a whopping price of Rs. 79.90 lakh (ex-showroom) which is Rs 4 lakh dearer than the outgoing model. Since it has been built exclusively for track enthusiasts, Ninja H2R gets no headlights, turn indicators, rearview mirrors or a pillion seat.
    Aerodynamic Design
Over the same styling of its predecessor has been carried forward. This includes notable design highlights such as aerodynamic winglets, sharp front fairing, rider-only saddle and a single-sided swingarm. The aerodynamic blades are positioned in a place that is otherwise occupied by wing mirrors.
The single-sided swingarm allows the exhaust muffler to be mounted closer to the bike centreline instead of adopting an underbelly design. The sports bike wears the same Mirror Coated Matte Spark Black paint just as the previous iteration of the motorcycle. Being a track-only bike, it is offered with an extremely committed riding posture hence features supporting pads on the saddle as back support to the rider during acceleration.
    Dynamics ALA-MotoGP
For a litre-class motorcycle, it tips the weighing scales at a mere 216kg making it extremely nimble with a fuel tank capacity of 17 litres. The new Ninja H2R rolls on 17-inch alloy wheels on both ends which are wrapped around by 120/600 front and 190/650 rear sections of rubber. The steel Trellis frame underpinning H2R has suspended on 43mm upside-down forks at front and an Ohlins TTX36 gas-charged mono-shock at rear- both fully adjustable, which perform suspension duties.
    2021 Kawasaki Ninja H2R BS6
The motorcycle also benefits from an additional Ohlins electronic steering damper. Braking hardware comprises dual 330mm disc brakes at front chewed by four-piston Brembo M50 Monobloc calipers and a single 250mm rotor with two-piston Brembo caliper at rear. The sophisticated track-friendly dynamics are aided by a very powerful motor underneath.
    Lightning Performance
The motorcycle retains the same 998cc, inline four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that pumps out 306 bhp at 14,000rpm and a peak torque of 165 Nm at 12,500rpm. The provision of a ram air intake pushes the peak power output to 322 bhp.
This engine is coupled with a six-speed gearbox which benefits from a slipper and an assist clutch along with a bi-directional quick-shifter for super aggressive shifts. The engine required unleaded petrol with an octane rating of RON95 or higher.
Performance is further aided by a plethora of ride-aided electronics controlled by a six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) sourced from Bosch. The IMU setup consists of cornering ABS, a multi-level Traction control system, slide control, launch control, wheelie control, and engine brake control. Additionally, the IMU gets a bank angle display and a recording function for maximum bank angle on the instrument cluster. More

    Kawasaki Ninja ZX4R With 400cc 4 Cylinder Engine – Launch Planned ?

    Image for reference
Currently, at a price of Rs 3.18 lakh (ex-showroom), Ninja 300 acts as the entry-level product of Kawasaki in India
While Kawasaki is fending off competition from other superbike brands across the globe, the best way to counter them is to press the foot down and launch new attractive products for itself. The iconic Japanese moniker was able to pull a large section of riders by launching its entry-level supersport motorcycle Ninja ZX-25R in Asia and Australia in July last year.
The range also comprises other middleweight supersport bikes such as Ninja ZX-6R and Ninja ZX-10R. With all three motorcycles widely applauded for their performance and dynamics, rumours suggest that Team Green is now planning to expand the ZX lineup by introducing a new Ninja ZX-4R.
    New Ninja ZX-4R
Reports indicate that this new Ninja ZX-4R will most likely be based on the smaller ZX-25R instead of the larger ZX-6R in order to keep the cost in check in various markets across the world. Ninja 25-R’s platform could prove to be more cost-effective since it can be extended to accommodate a slightly bigger model. For example, the front alloy wheel can house a dual disc set-up which could double up the anchorage power for ZX-4R.
    Updated Powertrain
The ZX-4R, like other models in the series, will be powered by a high-revving inline four-cylinder motor but carrying a displacement of 400cc. Murmurs going around claim that this engine has been built by enlarging the bore of the ZX-25R while also adding a new set of crank and pistons.
    Kawasaki ZX25R
This will be complemented by an updated ECU to ramp up the power and torque output. However, no official output figures have been revealed yet.
While ZX-25R pushes out 50 bhp, the enlarged motor in ZX-4R could likely churn out 65 horses. This would make it around 20 bhp more powerful than the 400cc parallel-twin motor of the standard Ninja 400.
Figures like these would put it against the likes of more premium supersport motorcycles such as Aprilia RS660 and the upcoming Yamaha R7. To handle the extra firepower, Ninja ZX-4R could be equipped with more premium hardware.
    Updated Dynamics
This will include a pair of inverted forks at front, a linked mono-shock at rear, twin front discs with radial calipers and a single disc at rear. It is also likely to offer features like a bi-directional quick-shifter, a traction control system and multiple riding modes as standard. At this point in time, everything is mere speculation but if indeed such a motorcycle based on ZX-25R is in development, it shouldn’t be too long before it comes out. More

2021 Kawasaki Ninja 400 Gets Two New Colour Options

    2021 Kawasaki Ninja 400
Enthusiasts would definitely want Kawasaki Ninja 400 to be re-launched in India
As part of its 2021 update, Kawasaki Ninja 400 has received two new colour options in China. Customers can now choose from Metal Twilight Blue and Metal Deep Grey. The earlier colour options of KRT Lime Green and Metallic Spark Black will continue to be available.
    Design, engine, specs remain same
Apart from the new colour options, Ninja 400 will be largely the same as earlier. The bike has an aggressive front fascia with twin LED headlights, darkened windscreen, and sporty rear view mirrors.
The cockpit has a multi-function instrument console that displays a range of information including gear position. Other key features include clip-on style handlebar, low seat height, and upswept exhaust. The bike offers balanced ergonomics that’s both sporty and relaxed.
Kawasaki Ninja 400 comes with a 399cc parallel twin engine. In China, the numbers are 46 ps of max power at 9600 RPM and 37.2 Nm of peak torque at 8000 RPM. It is mated to a 6-speed transmission.
    2021 Kawasaki Ninja 400
Kawasaki Ninja 400 India launch prospects
Ninja 400 was launched here in 2018 and it was counted amongst the best sub-400cc motorcycles available at that time. However, the motorcycle had limited sales in the country, primarily due to its high price tag of Rs 4.99 lakh (last known price, ex-showroom). As upgrade to BS6 would have further increased prices, it was decided to discontinue the bike. That happened in December 2019, around four months prior to the enforcement of BS6 emission norms.
It is not certain if Kawasaki is planning to reintroduce Ninja 400 in the Indian market. It is among the bikes that Kawasaki has not updated to meet stricter emission norms like Euro 5 / BS6. Apart from China, Ninja 400 is available in markets where emission norms are not that stringent. These include countries like USA and Japan.
For Ninja 400 to be viable for the Indian market, Kawasaki will have to work on reducing its price. One of its nearest rivals is KTM RC 390, which is available at a starting price of Rs 2.53 lakh. Benelli 302R is another contender, which is expected to be launched soon. It could be offered at a starting price of Rs 3.50 lakh.
Competitive pricing can be quite beneficial for a price sensitive market like India. Companies like Bajaj and Yamaha have been getting good results with their competitive pricing strategy. We have seen something similar with BMW G 310 R and G 310 GS as well. If Ninja 400 can reduce the price gap with rivals, it can deliver better results in its second innings in the country. More

Kawasaki India Launches K-Care Extended Warranty And AMC Package

Image for reference. Credit – Vinod NareshanKawasaki dominates the premium motorcycle segment, with a range of options from 650cc – 1000cc
For better care and safety of its motorcycles and to ensure complete peace of mind for customers, Kawasaki has launched a new post-sales package named K-Care. It’s a one-of-its-kind comprehensive package covering both extended warranty as well as annual maintenance contract (AMC).
One of the key advantages of K-care is that it can be used at any of the Kawasaki authorised service centre in India. This will be hugely beneficial for long distance riders as well as customers who often change cities.
    Kawasaki K-Care extended warranty
Under K-Care, Kawasaki customers get two years of standard warranty and additional two years of extended warranty. The standard two year warranty is applicable for the first 30,000 km or two years’ time from the date of purchase, whichever is earlier. In a similar manner, the extended two year warranty covers 20,000 km. In total, customers get 50k km or 4 years of warranty.
The standard warranty and extended warranty will remain valid in case the motorcycle is sold during the tenure period. The extended warranty will be beneficial for customers, as it will enhance the resale value of the motorcycle. The warranty under K-Care will commence from the date of sale of the motorcycle to the first owner.
    Kawasaki K-Care
    Kawasaki K-Care annual maintenance contract
Under this package, customers can save on service cost related to eight preventive maintenance services. This will be applicable for a period of four years. During this time, customers can get their motorcycle’s engine oil changed eight time, oil filter change four times and brake fluid replacement one time.
    Kawasaki K-Care
The AMC will also cover other routine service and maintenance checks that will be carried out at regular intervals during the four year period. The AMC is transferable, which means subsequent owner can also benefit in case of resale.
As of now, Kawasaki K-Care package is available only for new customers of MY21 Ninja ZX-10R. Based on response, Kawasaki may introduce this option for other motorcycles in its portfolio. To activate K-Care, customers will have to purchase the EW and AMC on the same date, as the motorcycle’s sales invoice date. The package will be applicable only when the MY21 Ninja ZX-10R is purchased from a Kawasaki authorized dealership.
It is also important to note that K-Care does not cover road side assistance (RSA). To know more about K-Care, its pricing and applicable terms and conditions, customers can approach their nearest Kawasaki dealership. More
