New Honda Retro Cafe Racer Design Patent Leaked – India Launch Likely?

New Honda Cafe Racer Design LeakedActual images of the bike have been used for registration and not sketches, indicating that production could commence soon
For enthusiasts who prefer retro-themed motorcycles, Honda is working on a brand-new cafe racer. Registration images from Japan reveal striking visuals, with a complete view of the bike’s hardware. Honda’s new cafe racer will be slotted in the 300cc segment, where it will rival the established players from brands like Triumph, BMW, KTM and others.
    New Honda Retro Cafe Racer
Retro styling is evident with the circular headlamp and bar-end rear-view mirrors. The bike also gets a circular instrument pod, likely to be a digital unit. Retro theme is further enhanced with the use of wire-spoke wheels. These will come in handy when negotiating unpaved pathways.
New Honda Cafe Racer Design Leaked
For practical convenience, it is possible that the spoked wheels could use tubeless tyres instead of conventional tubed type tyres. The lighting setup is expected to be all-LED. With its compact profile, Honda’s new cafe racer is designed to deliver agile performance. The bike has a chiselled fuel tank with sharp bends that enhance its aggressive stance and give it a muscular look.
Knee recesses on the fuel tank ensure enhanced ergonomics, stability and control. These will be useful while cornering and aggressive riding in race-like environments. The bike has a rider-only seat with a scooped central section. Seat height is likely below 800 mm, something that will further improve control and handling.
New Honda Cafe Racer Design Leaked
Other highlights include a retro-styled, minimalistic looking upswept exhaust. It seems to be missing a catalytic converter, which raises questions about the bike’s launch prospects in markets with stricter emission norms. In its current form, the bike may not comply with the latest BS6 and Euro 5+ emission standards. However, the catalytic converter can be added in the production version and it may not be required for registration purposes in Japan.
    Engine and specs
Honda’s new cafe racer is likely to derive power from a 300 cc, air cooled, single cylinder engine. It could be the same unit as in use with other Honda bikes such as Honda CB 300 F (Indonesia) or Honda CB 300 F Twister (Brazil). This engine makes 24.5 hp / 25.5 Nm and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
New Honda Cafe Racer Design Leaked
Assuming that the new cafe racer is likely to have a lightweight profile, it will have a higher power-to-weight ratio. Talking about hardware, Honda’s new cafe racer has USD forks at front and a monoshock rear suspension. Braking setup comprises disc brakes at both ends, likely around 300 mm at front and 220 mm at the rear. Dual-channel ABS will be offered as standard.
The bike has a backbone frame and two-armed rear swing arm. Kerb weight of the bike is expected to be around 150 kg. Other highlights include low-set, pulled-back handlebars and centrally positioned foot pegs. It is not certain when Honda’s new café racer bike will be launched in India. It will surely be useful here, as Honda is looking to race ahead of Hero MotoCorp in the two-wheeler space. More

Honda Rebel 250cc To Go Automatic – First Launch In Japan This year

Honda Rebel 250As the e-clutch system can be paired with existing powertrains, Honda is likely to introduce this feature with more bikes in the future
Last year, Honda unveiled its innovative e-clutch system. It was initially offered with two models – CBR 650R and CB 650R. The e-clutch significantly improves overall ride dynamics for all users including beginners and advanced riders.
    Honda Rebel 250 Automatic
Initially, the e-clutch option with Honda Rebel 250 will be available only in Japan. Honda has developed the e-clutch as a system that can be retrofitted with existing engines. There could be some minimal requirements for installing the e-clutch. But it is likely that it can be paired with several of Honda’s existing engines. As major changes are not required for integrating the e-clutch, Honda is able to offer it as an optional feature.
    Honda Rebel 250cc
Honda Rebel 250 Standard edition is available at a starting price of Rs 638,000 yen (approx. Rs 3.56 lakh). The e-clutch variant of Rebel 250 starts at 693,000 yen (Rs 3.87 lakh). That means the e-clutch option will cost users around Rs 30,000 more. That’s a small price to pay for the various benefits that are available with the e-clutch. Clutchless systems have also been developed by other brands such as KTM.
Honda Rebel 250 Automatic – Key benefits
With Honda’s e-clutch setup, users don’t have to worry about engaging the clutch during starting, stopping or shifting gears. Using electronic controls, the system automatically engages and disengages the clutch. However, if users want to manually engage the clutch, they can do that as well. This will benefit users who may be accustomed to using a manual clutch.
Similarly, advanced users who seek a more responsive experience with the bike will also benefit. The option to use or not to use the clutch is something that makes Honda’s e-clutch system truly remarkable. Gear shifts are performed as usual with the foot. Folks choosing the Rebel 250 e-clutch variant will find it much easier to navigate through the busy city streets. Gear shifts will become a lot smoother. Users can focus on riding, instead of going through the hassle of manually operating the clutch.
Honda Rebel 250 is equipped with a 249 cc, water cooled, 4-valve, single cylinder engine. It delivers 26 PS and 22 Nm of torque and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The power to weight ratio will be slightly lower with the e-clutch variant since it weighs 174 kg in comparison to 171 kg of the standard variant. However, fuel efficiency of 47 km/l is the same for both the standard and e-clutch variants. Honda Rebel 250 has disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS as standard. A low seat height of 690 mm makes the bike really great in terms of optimal control and handling.
Wheels are 16-inch at both ends, wrapped in 130/90 front and 150/80 rear tyres. Suspension setup comprises conventional telescopic forks at front and dual rear shock absorbers. With a ground clearance of 134 mm, the bike is best suited for paved roads.

Honda NPF 125 Scooter Patented In India – NTORQ Rival Launch Soon?

Honda NPF 125 Scooter Patented In IndiaHonda wants the top-selling two-wheeler title in India and has been working in that direction with new offerings including electric scooters. Multiple new products have also been patented, the latest being Honda NPF 125. But will this launch in India or is it just an IP protection exercise? The answer is unclear at this point. Let’s take a look at some of the key features of Honda NPF 125.
Honda NPF 125 Scooter – Styling and features
While Honda’s bestseller Activa exudes friendly vibes, the NPF 125 utilizes a visually opposite design format. The latter has an aggressive front fascia with dual headlamp setup and muscular body panelling. The design seems to signify the spirit of a warrior that can often be cold and intimidating.
It is apparent that Honda NPF 125 is targeted at folks who want their rides to stand out and have a dominating road presence. Other highlights include projector-style housings for the turn signals, a single piece seat, slightly upswept exhaust and H-shaped tail lights. While the scooter boasts an aggressive design, it also offers plenty of utilitarian features.
For example, the floorboard area is flat and quite long and wide. While offering ample space to rest your feet, the floorboard also comes in handy for carrying everyday items. There’s 14.3 litres of underseat storage, which is large enough for a half-face helmet or other smaller items.
Honda NPF 125 Scooter Patented In India
Users can also store items in the front utility pockets such as water bottles, smartphone, etc. Storage can be increased further by adding a top box at the rear. The scooter has a robust grab rail that extends towards the rear, making space for a top box. Such features can make the NPF 125 viable for commercial applications as well. The rider seat section seems quite comfy with its scooped profile.
Honda NPF 125 – Performance, specs
Powering the Honda NPF 125 is a 124-cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that generates 9.51 PS and 10 Nm of torque. Fuel efficiency is rated at around 50 km/l, which is pretty decent. Max speed is rated at 90 km/h. Fuel tank capacity is 5.7 litres, which means a range of around 300 km on a full tank at cruising speeds.
The scooter has 12-inch front and 10-inch rear wheels, wrapped in 90/90 and 100/90 tyres, respectively. Seat height of 755 mm seems suitable for optimal control and handling. While the base variant comes with drum brakes at both ends with CBS, the top variant has a disc brake at front with ABS.
    Honda NPF 125 Scooter
The top variant costs 1,000 yuan more (approx. Rs 12,000) than the standard variant. Other key features of Honda NPF 125 include side stand engine cut off, 15-watt Type-C charger at the front, smart key for hassle-free start and saddle unlock, advanced suspension system and eSP tech for improved performance.
While Honda has patented the NPF 125 scooter in India, it is not certain when it will be launched here. Assuming that it is launched here, Honda NPF 125 will primarily rival the likes of Suzuki Burgman Street 125, TVS Ntorq, Yamaha Fascino and Hero Xoom 125. More

Honda India Dedicated Electric Motorcycle Plant To Start Production From 2028

Honda Electric Motorcycle Concept – EV FunWhile Honda Motorcycles & Scooters India (HMSI) has been late to the electric scooter party, the company aims to be at the forefront where electric motorcycles are concerned. It is now revealed that Honda will start production of electric motorcycles in 2028, from a dedicated manufacturing plant in India.
Honda Electric Motorcycle Plant In India
In line with the Make In India initiative, HMSI has been on the verge of converting its Indian manufacturing facilities into a global export hub. Today, HMSI has emerged as the country’s second largest 2W manufacturer and is closing the gap rapidly with market leader, Hero MotoCorp.
With a dedicated electric motorcycle manufacturing facility in India, HMSI aims to capture a major market share in the world’s largest 2W market. Alongside this dedicated electric motorcycle manufacturing facility, HMSI has also laid plans to enhance their battery charging network in the country to reduce range anxiety for buyers.
HMSI has made decent strides to reduce TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) for buyers, which will strike as a major challenge associated with introduction of electric motorcycles. Honda mentioned that they’re striving to launch electric motorcycles at a price range where TOC of three years of ownership will be equal to that of its ICE counterparts.
Honda Electric Motorcycle Concept – EV Fun
As of now, Honda has not confirmed the exact models and model names of its upcoming electric motorcycles to be manufactured in India. The goal is to offer a wide variety of models with a common module, thus reducing development costs.
Also, Honda is working with multiple battery manufacturers in India to design and develop batteries of the right specification and application. Ensuring stable procurements of parts is another challenge that OEMs in India face. With local suppliers, Honda can achieve high levels of localisation, taking the input costs down and gaining higher profits.
    Honda Activa e and QC1
Honda Motorcycles & Scooters India Ltd just launched their maiden electric scooters in the form of Activa e and QC1. While QC1 is more budget-oriented, Activa e is the current flagship and is the only one to get swappable battery technology. QC1, on the other hand, has to make do with a fixed battery pack, but gets usable storage, which Activa e lacks completely.
Honda Electric Motorcycle Concept – EV Fun
With QC1 and Activa e, Honda is getting their foot into the EV game in India. Price starts from Rs 90K (Ex-sh) for QC1 and Rs 1.17 lakh (Ex-sh) for Activa e. Maximum range with these scooters is 102 km on a single charge (Activa e) with a max top speed of 80 km/h. Exact timeline for the Honda electric motorcycle plant has not been revealed yet. More

2025 Honda Activa Launched – Gets TFT Dash, USB-C, Alloy Wheels

2025 Honda Activa launchedSince New Year, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has been in the process of updating its portfolio. Along with ensuring OBD2B compliance, Honda has also introduced new features for its scooters and motorcycles. 2025 Honda Activa gets the same treatment and is updated for MY25. Models also updated include Honda Dio, CB650R, CBR650R and Livo.
    2025 Honda Activa Launched – What’s new?
One of the most important updates is OBD2B compliance for the 109.51cc, single-cylinder PGM-Fi engine. This ensures that Activa is ready to meet the mandates prescribed under the upcoming stricter emission regulations. OBD2B is the next stage of OBD Stage II (BS VI) emission norms. Multiple sensors are part of the On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) systems, which measure emissions in real-time and alert the rider in case of any irregularities.
    2025 Honda Activa
2025 Honda Activa’s updated engine generates 8 PS and 9.05 Nm of torque. Users can expect improved fuel efficiency, as the engine is equipped with an Idling engine stop system. This setup is designed to stop fuel wastage at brief stops such as at traffic signals. The engine turns off automatically at such brief halts. Users can start the engine again just by turning the throttle grip. If all vehicles are equipped with an idling stop system and everyone uses it, fossil fuel usage can be brought down significantly.
    New features
2025 Honda Activa gets a new 4.2-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity. When paired with Honda RoadSync app, users can access a wide range of connectivity features such as calls, text alerts and navigation. Another useful update is the addition of Type-C USB charging port.
    2025 Honda Activa TFT Screen
2025 Activa is available in three variants – STD, DLX and H-Smart. Now, even the DLX variant gets alloy wheels. Visually, the 2025 Honda Activa is largely the same as the outgoing model. While the Standard variant has a halogen headlamp, the DLX and H-Smart variants have LED units.
Colour options available with 2025 Honda Activa include Pearl Precious White, Decent Blue Metallic, Pearl Igneous Black, Mat Axis Gray Metallic, Rebel Red Metallic and Pearl Siren Blue. Excluding the OBD2B-compliant engine, other hardware specifications remain the same as earlier.  Honda Activa utilizes an Under Bone frame, with telescopic front forks and a unit swing 3-step adjustable rear suspension.
    2025 Honda Activa
Front and rear wheels are 12-inch and 10-inch, respectively, wrapped in 90/90 and 90/100 tubeless tyres. These tubeless units are made from specialized compounds that reduce rolling resistance. Braking setup comprises drum brakes at both ends. Activa has ground clearance of 162 mm and a fuel tank of 5.3-litre capacity.
    2025 Honda Activa pricing
With the updates, the new 2025 Honda Activa is now available at a slightly higher pricing. The base variant starts at Rs 80,950. The current model is available at a starting price of Rs 78,684. That means a price increase of Rs 2,266. New 2025 Honda Activa will continue to rival the likes of TVS Jupiter and Hero Pleasure Plus XTEC. More

2025 Honda CB300R Patented? Or Is This A New RE Hunter 350 Rival?

2025 Honda CB300R PatentedHonda has patented a new motorcycle in India that takes a neo-retro Roadster approach. Going by Honda’s past patenting exercises, one would think that this is just a global vehicle and that the company is protecting its IP here in India. However, this looks like an affordable motorcycle that the company might launch in India.
    2025 Honda CB300R Patented?
One look at this patent design, anyone would dismiss it as a CB300R with a slightly updated design to make it more neo-retro than it already is. This could be true as well. However, there seems to be more about this patent design than what meets the eye. On closer inspection, one can see that it has an air-cooled engine.
For context, Honda CB300R has a liquid-cooled engine, which doesn’t have fins on the engine block for air-cooling. That said, liquid-cooled engines on Jawa and Yezdi motorcycles get these fins just for aesthetic purposes, which is great attention to detail. We can expect Honda to do something similar with 2025 CB300R.
    2025 Honda CB300R Patented
If this is true, we might be looking at the new CB300R with an updated design it desperately needs. It gets a new LED headlight, almost identical to the one seen on global 2025 CB300R. There’s a new fuel tank with less clutter and simpler tank shrouds. There’s a beefier belly pan and more muscular body panels on rear subframe.
Turn indicators are now circular and so are the instrument cluster and ORVMs. The main change can be seen at the rear where we get a new design with a tail tidy. Wheels and tyres look the same and the brakes seem to be carried over too. Exhaust end-can looks the same as current CB300R, with a new heat shield. USD front forks and rear mono-shock are carried over as well.
    Is this a Neo-Retro Hornet 2.0?
There’s a good probability that Honda might be carving a new version of Hornet 2.0 that takes a neo-retro roadster design. Yamaha has used this formula and has created FZ-X, based on FZ street bike. If this is true, we can see the same 184.4cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that generates 17.3 bhp and 15.9 Nm, mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
    New Honda Roadster Patented
Given the higher performance ceiling, this new Honda Roadster motorcycle will rival the likes of TVS Ronin and Royal Enfield Hunter 350. Honda could achieve an excellent power-to-weight ratio, similar to CB300F and CB300R. For context, RE Hunter 350 delivers 20.2 bhp and 27 Nm but weighs up to 181 kg. We can expect it to launch by the end of 2025. More

Where design is concerned, Livo takes a sporty approach with a muscular fuel tank. What amplifies its presence more, are tank shrouds that are finished in a contrasting colour. Honda has also incorporated attractive graphics, which can be seen on fuel tank, headlight and side body panels.
    2025 Honda Livo
Owing to its commuter roots, Honda Livo gets a long single-piece seat along with a conventional pillion grab rail. The main highlight with 2025 Honda Livo is the fully digital instrument cluster that shows a multitude of information like real-time mileage, ECO indicator, distance to empty (DTE), service due indicator and gear position indicator.
Other notable additions include a side stand sensor with an engine cut-off feature. Componentry-wise, we still get the same RSU telescopic front forks, twin rear shock absorbers, 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped with 80/100 tyres and CBS (Combi Braking System).
    2025 Honda Livo Instrument Cluster
Powertrains-wise, we get the same 109.51cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that is capable of generating 8.7 bhp of peak power at 7,500 RPM and 9.3 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 RPM, mated to a 4-speed gearbox. This powertrain is now OBD2B compliant too, like most new motorcycles in its segment.

By enhancing both technology and aesthetics, we aim to offer our customers a motorcycle that seamlessly combines innovation and practicality. We believe that it will be a trusted companion for riders across India to Live Life, Livo Style.” More
