Honda GB350 C for Japan is India-spec CB350With its pure retro classic design, Honda GB350 C can prompt enthusiasts to reconsider their original 350cc classic bike preferencesAs part of its campaign to aggressively target the 350cc segment, Honda has launched the new CB350 in India. The existing 350cc bikes from Honda, the H’ness CB350 and CB350RS, will continue to be sold alongside. The same motorcycle will be shipped to Japan too, where it will be sold under the name GB350 C, where C seems to stand for Classic.New Honda GB350 C in Japan – What’s different?New CB350 utilizes the same platform as that of H’ness CB350 and CB350RS. As of now, Honda does export the CB350 lineup to Japan, where H’ness CB350 is sold as GB350 and CB350 RS as GB350 S. Now CB350 will be sold as GB350 C. Even though it is identical to India-spec CB350, Honda GB350 C will get Japan-specific colours. When compared to H’ness or RS, CB350 gets a new look and comes with some retro timeless design attributes. While the other two 350cc Honda bikes have a neo-retro profile, the new CB350 has a timeless classic design. For folks who currently favour Royal Enfield Classic 350, Honda’s new CB350 can emerge as a viable option. However, breaking into Royal Enfield’s cult-like fan following will still be a challenge. At a starting price of Rs. 2 lakh (ex-sh), new CB350 certainly has potential. But it is not something that can be described as completely unique. With design traits resembling those of Classic 350, its nemesis.New Honda CB350 Vs Classic 350Some of the key highlights include round headlamps and rear-view mirrors, a timeless fuel tank, all-LED lighting setup, metallic shrouds for front forks, split seats, a long exhaust and retro front and rear fenders. A total of five colour options are available – Pearl Igneous Black, Matte Marshal Green Metallic, Matte Dune Brown, Matte Crust Metallic and Precious Red Metallic.Honda CB350 specs, performancePowering Honda CB350 is the 348.36cc engine that generates 21 PS of max power and 29.4 Nm of peak torque. Is The New Honda CB350 Classic Enough To Take On Classic 350?

New Honda CB350 Vs Classic 350When compared to Royal Enfield Classic 350, Honda CB350 Classic offers more of almost everything including performance and featuresA great man once said, ‘If you can’t beat Royal Enfield Classic 350, looking like one does the trick’. Okay. I said that in Honda CB350 launch post (greatness is debatable, though). But fact of the matter is that Honda is hell-bent on blowing a lethal strike on Royal Enfield Classic 350. Is CB350 Classic that strike? Has Honda cracked the equation, this time around?Honda CB350 is Classic Enough to take on Classic 350The answers to aforementioned questions are pretty simple. Yes, and Yes. Honda’s new CB350 (not H’ness or RS) is the company’s biggest punch to Royal Enfield Classic 350. Honda has gone full regalia in carving out a good-looking motorcycle that leans towards timeless aesthetics and design attributes that Classic 350 dwells in.Result of which, Honda CB350 looks like a Classic 350, in more ways than one. Are we complaining, though? Not really. I personally know a person who sold his pristine BS6 Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 MotoGP Edition in favour of a Honda CB350 H’ness. CB350 is a fantastic product with refinement, comfort, superior equipment and kit than any RE 350.But it just didn’t look classic and timeless enough to make a dent in Classic 350’s lion’s share in 350cc retro motorcycles. Honda threw Legacy Edition, New Hue Edition, Comfort Custom, Tourer Custom, Cafe Racer Custom, Solo Carrier Custom and SUV Custom at CB350 to see what sticks. These may not have stuck well to Honda’s liking.Honda CB350 Vs Classic 350 – Fuel TankNow we get the timeless Honda CB350 which is by far the best-looking Royal Enfield rival ever launched in India. Classic bike buyers often throw spec sheets, brochures and logic out of the window when choosing their travel companion. It is all an emotional connection. Honda CB350 has the sauce with right ingredients (classic, retro and timeless) to stir emotions of this demographic. What extras does CB350 have over Classic 350?The number of changes that Honda has done to CB350 to infuse more timeless appeal are uncanny. Starting with fuel tank with tear drop effect and tank pad, front RSU telescopic forks now get shrouds, side body panels are new, seat looks properly retro, front and rear mudguards are redesigned with old-school charm, grab rail is vintage and exhaust is now straighter. With these timeless design attributes, Honda intends to win Royal Enfield buyers. The Honda brand name, new classic design, superior hardware and competitive pricing should work in favour of new CB350 Classic. Even though classic bike buyers don’t really care about spec sheets and equipment, it is to be noted that Honda offers more.Honda CB350 Vs Classic 350 – Fork ShroudsWhat more? How much more? More of almost everything. For starters, Honda offers more performance on paper – 20.7 bhp and 29.4 Nm as opposed to Classic 350’s 20.2 bhp and 27 Nm. CB350 has a 15.2L fuel tank as opposed to Classic’s 13L. Cherry on top, is that Honda CB350 Classic weighs less too, at 187 kg, as opposed to 195 kg of Classic 350.Honda offers traction control system, slip and assist clutch, LED headlights, LED turn indicators, LED tail lights, fancier instrument cluster, fatter 130-section rear tyre, alloy wheels as standard and more. None of these are offered with Classic 350. Saving grace for Classic 350 is its Tripper screen, which is optional and not standard.Honda CB350 Vs Classic 350 – FrontWhere pricing is concerned, Honda CB350 costs Rs. 2 lakh for DLX and 2.19 lakh for DLX Pro. Classic 350 prices range between Rs. 1.93 lakh and Rs. 2.25 lakh (all prices ex-sh). Honda has done the homework properly and has gone back to the drawing board with CB350 Classic and this is a really commendable move. More

Honda CB350 Launched – Company’s Biggest Dig At Classic 350 Yet!

New Honda CB350 launched to rival Classic 350The new Honda CB350 is a textbook retro classic motorcycle with timeless design traits that should achieve some disruption in Classic 350’s salesClassic motorcycles are currently all the rage in 300 to 500cc segment. This segment operates in the price bracket of Rs. 1.5 lakh to Rs. 2.5 lakh (ex-sh). Royal Enfield currently aces this segment with over 85% market share. Honda has sharpened the blades of its CB350 platform to rival Royal Enfield’s dominance in this segment. Say namaste to Honda CB350.Honda CB350 LaunchedIf you are wondering where the prefixes or suffixes went, there aren’t any. This is Honda CB350, and that’s it. No H’ness or RS. Just the CB350. Not confusing at all. The company is offering Honda CB350 in two trim levels – DLX and DLX Pro, priced at Rs. 1,99,900 and Rs. 2,17,800 respectively. New Honda CB350 is sold via Big Wing dealerships only. For context, Royal Enfield Classic 350 prices range between Rs. 1,93,080 and Rs. 2,24,755. Up until now, Honda rivaled RE’s slew of 350cc motorcycles with CB350 H’ness and CB350 RS. But couldn’t directly take on them because Royal Enfield was still heavy on timeless Classic-ness.Honda has figured this out, this time around, and is launching its biggest strike on Classic 350 with new CB350. We should say, this is by far the best-looking Royal Enfield rival and is highly likely to draw more customers away from Classic 350. Honda has achieved this feat by offering similar classic timeless design traits that were drawing buyers towards Classic 350.New Honda CB350 retro classic timeless designThe new timeless design is in the form of a new fuel tank, new side body panels, tank grips, new classic split seats with contrasting piping, classic grab rail, retro-looking mudguards at both ends that are larger than on H’ness or RS, shrouded RSU telescopic front forks, and a new retro exhaust. If you can’t bear Classic 350 sales, it looks like one does the trick.More features than a Royal Enfield Classic 350With retro classics, colours can either break or make the product. New classic CB350 gets a total of five colours – Precious Red Metallic, Pearl Igneous Black, Matte Crust Metallic, Matte Marshal Green Metallic and Matte Dune Brown. Despite Honda going back in time where design is concerned, CB350 is still ahead where features are concerned.Top-spec DLX Pro comes equipped with all the bells and whistles including Honda Smartphone Voice Control System (HSVCS) with Bluetooth support, Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC, which is basically Traction Control), Dual-channel ABS, 18-inch wheels, LED lighting, semi-digital instrumentation, double layer exhaust pipe preventing discolouration are notable features.New Honda CB350 new design detailsPower is derived from a 348.36cc single-cylinder engine that generates 20.8 bhp of peak power at 5500 RPM and 29.4 Nm of peak torque at 3000 RPM. There is a 5-speed gearbox along with a slip and assist clutch on offer too. The bold and low-pitched thumping sound should evoke a lot of nostalgia as well.Words from the manufacturerIntroducing Honda’s latest premium BigWing motorcycle, Mr. Tsutsumu Otani, Managing Director, President & CEO, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, said, “We are absolutely thrilled to expand our mid-size 350cc motorcycle line-up with the launch of All-New CB350. Honda CB350 BABT Classic Motorcycle Teased – RE Classic 350 Rival

Honda CB350 BABT teasedUpcoming CB350 cafe racer has a truly unique profile, even though it borrows much of the hardware from Honda H’ness CB350Honda CB350 had ambitious plans against popular 350cc bikes from Royal Enfield. However, with REs with their cult following and immense fan base, CB350 hasn’t been able to make any major impact despite the recent variations of CB350. CB350 RS was also introduced later, but sales numbers are nowhere close to RE bikes like Bullet 350 and Classic 350.Honda CB350 is taking a more Classic route?Further complicating the situation for CB350 is Hunter 350 which has emerged as one of the bestselling bikes in 350cc segment. When we analyse 300cc to 500cc bike sales, CB350 YoY and MoM sales have dipped in recent months, which seems a worrying trend. To boost its prospects in 350cc segment, Honda is readying a new classic motorcycle based on CB350.As of now, Honda CB350 is a neo-retro motorcycle. This neo-retro appeal is further amplified in CB350 RS. But customer reception and buying trends seem to be favouring more “Classic” appeal, something which Royal Enfield excels at. Now, Honda is bringing more “Classic-ness” to CB350 lineup as teased on social media handles. This is by far Honda’s most significant dig at Royal Enfield Classic 350. This time around, Honda seems to be business, as it is tackling rivals with their ethos. In this case, “Classic-ness”. There is one word that Honda has thrown frequently in this teaser is BABT, which should abbreviate to something. As seen in the company’s teaser, Honda CB350 BABT is taking the Classic route. We can see the same Nissin callipers, alloy wheel designs and other components as CB350. But there are changes. The front telescopic forks now get a silver finish. Along with that, Honda is offering a fork cover like Royal Enfield does. The new split seat design and tan seat covers are new too. What does BABT stand for?The front mudguard now gets two connecting spokes that emerge from the bottom of the front fork. This is a signature classic bike design trait that was missing in CB350. From what little Honda has teased, Honda CB350 BABT version has a lot more classic appeal than regular CB350 and CB350 RS.If striking a Classic appeal was the agenda, chrome spoked wheels would have helped a lot in that regard. But that is not the case. Honda’s teaser mentions “Coming Soon”. Caption for this post read, “Brace yourself for the rise of a legend with fearless voice. Get ready to take on the open roads.”CB350 BABT Classic style front mudguardHonda CB350 BABT performancePowering CB350 cafe racer will be the 348.36cc, 4 Stroke engine churning out 21 PS of max power and 30 Nm of peak torque. It is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Most of the hi-tech features will be borrowed from CB350. It will include Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), Honda Smartphone Voice Control system (HSVCS), all-LED lights, assist and slipper clutch, side stand with engine inhibitor and gear position indicator.Primary rival is likely to be the slew of 350cc Royal Enfield motorcycles along with offerings from Jawa and Yezdi. Launch is likely to be in the coming days, as this is just a variation of an already existing motorcycle.CB350 BABT Classic front fork cover More

A separate panel for indicators has been provided below the digital console for easy viewability. The overall profile of scooter radiates immenseness that commands a lot of road presence.2024 Honda ADV 160 ColoursThis is a non-step-through scooter, hindering practicality. Output numbers are around 16 PS and 15 Nm. Honda ADV 160 will have eSP (enhanced smart power) tech ensuring optimal performance across varied environments. eSP system comprises various components such as ACG Starter and programmed fuel injection.Idling stop system will be available with 2024 Honda ADV 160, which boosts fuel efficiency. The scooter will have double cradle frame with telescopic front forks and gas-charged twin rear suspension. True to its ADV profile, the scooter will have block pattern tyres. Both wheels will have disc brakes with single-channel ABS.Now that Hero is launching India’s second sporty maxi-scooter in the form of Xoom 160, the time is ripe for Honda to bring in ADV 160 in India. Both will rival Yamaha’s Aerox 155 which currently enjoys quite a niche. Considering Hero’s pricing exercises, it will have a much better VFM proposition, though. More

Honda XRE 300 Sahara Revives Iconic Nameplate – CB300F Based ADV For India?

New Sahara alongside OG SaharaWith a similar powertrain setup as CB300F in India, Honda XRE 300 Sahara could be a game changer for the company’s Big Wing lineupHonda, a 2W juggernaut of the world, is currently one of the largest 2W manufacturers in India. The company has not seen good reception to its premium motorcycles range sold through Big Wing dealerships. Can a new ADV fix that? Is that ADV, Honda XRE 300 Sahara? With engine from CB300F? Sounds like a fitting proposition, though.Honda XRE 300 Sahara UnveiledThe Japanese 2W manufacturer has seen little success with its Big Wing products in India. Two motorcycles underwent significant price revisions for that very reason. We’re talking about Honda CB300F and CB300R that shed Rs. 59K and Rs. 37K respectively. The prospect of an ADV under Rs. 2 lakh sold via Big Wing dealerships might prove to be a good strategy. In Brazil, Honda has confirmed it is reviving Sahara nameplate with its XRE 300. There are not a lot of details revealed about this bike. But, 2024 Honda XRE 300 Sahara will be showcased physically this month, with a launch slated in Brazil sometime in 2024. As of now, Honda has released two images of upcoming XRE 300 Sahara. As seen in the images, XRE 300 Sahara pays tribute to the classic NX 350 Sahara of the 90s. The OG Honda Sahara derived its mechanicals from XLX 350R. Instead of naked off-roader appeal with a beak, OG Sahara packed a handsome fairing with a square headlight. A somewhat similar concept is implied in the new Sahara.Honda XRE 300 Sahara designBased on Honda’s XRE 300, it misses out on the front beak, knobby off-road tyres, and the whole off-roady vibe. Instead, Sahara brings along a more handsome fairing, integrated frame sliders (fairing protectors), a much taller windscreen, Metzeler Karoo Street block-pattern tyres, a black-painted box-section swingarm and more. All of these combined, lend it a touring bike appeal with good off-road hardware in the form of long travel suspension, wire-spoke wheels, up-swept exhaust, comfy seating, relaxed ergonomics, and more. Not a lot is revealed by Honda, in terms of features and creature comforts.Powertrains, specs and launchLooks are on the handsome side. The overall bikini fairing is appealing and has integrated turn indicators like OG Sahara. Only, this time they’re LEDs. With design, the new Sahara draws inspiration from its flagship ADV, Africa Twin. Where specs are concerned, Honda XRE 300 Sahara might have comparable dimensions and wheelbase to regular XRE 300.As per powertrain, it looks similar to Honda Twister on sale in Brazil. In India, a similar engine is seen on CB300F which recently got a massive price cut. In the CB300F, this oil-cooled single-cylinder engine makes around 24 bhp and 25 Nm, mated to a 6-speed gearbox and slipper clutch.Honda has not revealed launch intentions in India. But we would reckon Honda XRE 300 Sahara would be a good bet for India. Considering the uproar in ADV segment around Rs. 2 lakh where TVS is likely to launch RR 310 based Apache RTX line. More
