Harley-Davidson’s first ADV, Pan America 1250 was launched earlier this year in the US. In India, it was unveiled on Sunday, 8th August 2021. The first examples have started making their way to authorized showrooms across the country.
It may be recalled that Hero MotoCorp had taken over distribution rights for all Harley Davidson bikes, parts and merchandise after Harley announced its exit from the country. Following this announcement, Hero MotoCorp has set up 12 exclusive Harley dealerships and increased its touch points from where the first batch of 100 Harley bikes as well as the new Pan America 1250 adventurer tourer will be on sale.

The new Harley Pan America is priced at Rs 16.90 lakh for the base Standard variant and at Rs 19.19 lakh for the Special. Both variants come in with a range of colour options that include Gauntlet Gray Metallic, Vivid Black, River Rock Gray, Two-Tone Baja Orange / Stone Washed White Pearl.

The new Harley is loaded with features while dimensions stand at 2,265mm length, 789mm saddle height and 175mm ground clearance. It gets a 1,580mm long wheelbase with dry weight at 228 kgs and 21.2 liter fuel tank capacity. Pan America rides on 19/17 inch wheel setup fitted with Michelin Scorcher dual-purpose tyres with Michelin Anakee off-road tyres offered as an option.

Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 adventure tourer gets a high strength low alloy steel trellis frame. It sports an LED headlamp and tall front visor while the Special variant gets an adaptive unit above the headlamp that adjusts intensity and angle based on the lean angle of the bike. The windscreen can be manually adjusted in 3 settings.
Split seats, distinctive Harley-Davidson graphics, 6.8 inch TFT display compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, heated grips, USB charger, steering damper, electronically adjustable semi active suspension and a tyre pressure monitoring system are among its on board features.

Though the Standard variant misses out on crash protection, the Special trim gets tubular crash protectors, hand guards and aluminum bash plate. At the rear, an LED tail lamp along with a small plate for luggage is seen. Safety is via customized riding modes, traction control, cruise control, turn by turn navigation and cornering ABS.
Engine, Suspension and Braking
Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 gets its power via a new Euro-5 compliant Revolution Max V-Twin 1250 engine that offers 150 hp power at 9,000 rpm and 127 Nm torque at 6,750 rpm. The engine gets fitted with Variable Valve Timing (VVT), inter balancers and slipper clutch. The engine is mated to a 6 speed gearbox.
Suspension is via electronically adjusted semi active 47mm Showa USD fork in the front and Showa monoshock at the rear both offering 191mm travel. Braking is carried out through twin 320mm disc in the front with monoblocks from Brembo while at the rear it is 280 mm disc with single pot caliper.
Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 competes with the Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin. It also takes on Ducati Multistrada V4 and 2021 BMW R 1250 GS, both of which are priced higher by Rs 2.1 lakh and Rs 4.3 lakh respectively. More

Harley Davidson unveiled their all new motorcycle, the Pan America 1250 a few weeks ago in the USA. Now, the company is getting ready to unveil the motorcycle in India this Sunday, on 8th August 2021. That is also the day when Harley Davidson India’s Virtual Hog 2021 2.0 is scheduled.
Ahead of that, the new Pan America 1250 has started arriving at select dealerships across India. One of the first units is now on display at the Himalayan Harley Davidson dealership located in Chandigarh. The dealership has now shared an unboxing video of the new Pan America 1250, which can be seen below.
Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 – Features
The new Harley tourer receives several adventure centric styling cues with a tall windscreen, split seating, side slung exhaust, semi fairing design elements and a 21 liter fuel tank. It will ride on alloy wheels as standard and receive tubeless tyres with cross spoke wheels as an option.
On board features will also include LED lighting, a 6.8 inch colour TFT touchscreen display unit with Bluetooth, heated grips, steering damper, electronically adjustable semi active suspension and a tyre pressure monitoring system. An industry first feature will also include Adaptive Ride Height system which will be offered as an option. The bikes ride on 19 inch front and 17 inch rear alloy wheels.

The new Pan America is powered by a 1,252cc, Revolution Max V-Twin engine that offers 150 hp power at 9,000 rpm and 127 Nm torque at 6,750 rpm. These higher RPM figures are achieved due to a short stroke design in place of a long stroke one that offers a two fold increase in rev limit over that seen on Harley’s other V Twins.
The engine also gets liquid cooling with variable valve timing, double overhead camshafts and 4 valve cylinder head. It gets mated to a 6 speed transmission with slipper clutch. Being built on a front frame, mid frame and sub frame bolt on, this results in lower overall weight standing at 242 kgs and 254 kgs on Standard and Special variant respectively.
Suspension and braking is via fully-adjustable SHOWA USD fork and monoshock and radial mono-block four piston calipers with 320mm dual front brake and 280mm single brake at the rear.
Price
Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 is being presented in two variants of Standard and Special. These priced between Rs 16.90 lakh to 20.26 lakh (ex-showroom, India). It may be recalled that in October last year, Hero MotoCorp and Harley-Davidson announced a partnership for the Indian market. As per the agreement, even as Harley had announced its exit front the country, Hero MotoCorp has taken over distribution rights for all Harley Davidson bikes, parts and merchandise.
Hero MotoCorp has set up 12 exclusive Harley dealerships and increased its touch points. Around 100 Harley bikes constitute the first batch and also include the new Pan America 1250 adventurer tourer. The other models include Softail, Fat Bob, and Street Bob. A few days after Harley Davidson introduced its first electric motorcycle named LiveWire, the iconic American bikemaker had announced that future electric bikes will be sold under a separate brand entity with the same name. The company has now officially introduced its first offering named LiveWire One under its spinoff brand.
The new sub-brand from Harley will exclusively be dedicated to its electric-powered motorcycles. Interestingly, the iconic American bikemaker’s second outing with a battery-powered two-wheeler comes at a lot lesser price than its previous offering. LiveWire One has been priced at USD 21,999 (approx. INR 16.41 lakh). In comparison, the original LiveWire is currently priced at USD 29,799 (approx. INR 22,10,000).
LiveWire One More Details
Further, LiveWire One electric motorcycle will go by the model code LW1 while it has been internally codenamed as ‘XB’. To stay clear of any confusion, the current LiveWire will henceforth be referred to as ‘ELW’ going by its model code while its internal codename is ‘XA’, therefore providing a distinction between the two models.
While specs haven’t been revealed, earlier VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) documents have specified that the upcoming motorcycle will have a peak power output of 101 bhp. This is a slight drop in power when compared to the current LiveWire bike which kicks out 105 bhp. However, the same electric motor and battery offered in Livewire One are expected to be the same as LiveWire ELW.
Harley Davidson LiveWire ONE Electric Motorcycle
Although continuous power output of LiveWire LW1 is expected to remain the same as LiveWire ELW around 70 bhp. The VIN information further confirms the LiveWire One will be demarcated as a 2021 model with its launch slated for later this year. Harley Davidson claims a range of 146 miles (235km) on a single charge for LiveWire One.
Battery Charging & Features
Using a DC charger, battery of LiveWire One could be juiced up 0-100 percent in 60 minutes and 0-80 percent in 40 minutes. Under realistic conditions, 0-80 percent of the battery could be rejuvenated within 30 minutes. There is not too much of a difference in styling between a new electric motorcycle and LiveWire ELW barring different colour schemes and body graphics.
In terms of features as well, the upcoming electric bike is expected to carry forward all the bells and whistles from ELW and probably add some more. These include a digital instrument console, a six-axis IMU and more. Harley-Davidson had earlier revealed in May that the new LiveWire electric motorcycle will be showcased at the International Motorcycle Show (IMS) in the USA the very next day after its debut.

However, the venue has pulled out of the event and decided to host only musical concerts through 2021. It is powered by an electric motor which is paired with a 15.5kWh battery pack and returns a claimed range of 235km on a single charge and a real-world range of up to 153km. Harley Davidson currently has only twelve dealerships across India – Hero MotoCorp today announced the latest price
There has been a lot of conjecture regarding Harley Davidson’s future in India after the iconic motorcycle brand quit independent operations in the country in September last year. As we know, the bikemaker entered into a partnership with Hero MotoCorp which will perform sales and service functions for the American company in India.
Hero MotoCorp has now announced the updated India lineup of Harley Davidson motorcycles for MY2021 along with the revised prices. The motorcycles will be retailed through Harley’s dealerships. As many as thirteen models have been launched by H-D and Hero which also includes the new Pan America 1250.
2021 Updated Lineup
The range starts with the most popular model in India- Iron 883 which will be offered at a base price of Rs 10.11 lakh. This is followed by Forty-Eight which has been pegged at a price of Rs 11.75 lakh.
Softail Standard will now be available for purchase at Rs 15.25 lakh. Another popular roadster Street Bob has been priced at 15.99 lakh. Add another Rs 76,000 and one might be able to avail its larger sibling Fat Bob at Rs 16.75 lakh. The latest addition to the lineup, Pan America 1250 will be offered in two trims- standard and Special.

The base standard variant has been priced at Rs 16.90 lakh while the Special variant would cost a premium of Rs 3.09 lakh. Fat Boy 114 comes next which has been pegged at a price of Rs 20.90 lakh. Heritage Classic will be offered at a price of Rs 21.49 lakh while price of Electra Glide standard has been fixed at Rs 24.99 lakh.
Road King is now available at a price of Rs 26.99 lakh whereas Street Glide Special has been priced at Rs 32.99 lakh. The range will be wrapped up by a top-of-the-line Road Glide Special at a price of Rs 34.99 lakh. All prices mentioned are ex-showroom.
Expansion of Dealership Network
Bookings for the above-mentioned models are now open on the company’s official India website. Adding to this development, Ravi Avalur – Head – Premium Segment Business Unit, Hero MotoCorp, said, “The line-up is now strengthened with the introduction of the Pan America Adventure Tourer. The 2021 model range appeals to a broader consumer segment and will ensure Harley-Davidson’s leadership in the leisure motorcycling segment.”
The media release also stated that Hero MotoCorp is looking to expand the service, parts and accessories business beyond the current 12 cities covered by Harley dealerships. The largest two-wheeler manufacturer is looking to launch a parallel chain of dealerships that will not only retail Harley models but its own premium models. About a month ago, we got a sneak peek of the upcoming SRV 300 roadster manufactured by Chinese bikemaker Qianjiang Motor. With Harley Davidson joining hands with Qianjiang in 2019, we suspect this bike to be rebadged wearing the logo of the iconic American brand.
Another set of spy shots of what appears to be the final production-spec SRV 300 has surfaced on the internet. Qianjiang, the parent company of Italian brand Benelli, is planning to launch the motorcycle in its home market in a few weeks. The approval documents attached to the image that was leaked last month shared a few details about the upcoming cruiser.
Mechanical Specs
The SRV 300 will be propelled by an all-new 296cc V-Twin motor which has been tuned to produce around 30 bhp. This unit will be linked to a six-speed gearbox. The cruiser can clock a top speed of 128 kmph and would be rich on bottom-end torque thanks to its V-Twin configuration.
A low kerb weight of 163 kg would translate to high power to weight ratio, thus ensuring a spirited performance. Also, it makes for a very efficient motorcycle for daily commutes.
Harley Davidson 300cc Cruiser
The cruiser borrows certain inspiration from Harley Davidson’s most popular bobber Iron 883. For instance, it features the same suspension setup comprising USD front forks and rear mono-shock apart from a water-cooled, overhead-cam V-Twin engine neatly fitted with a radiator.
Other specifications known as of now are a wheelbase of 1400mm and 16-inch wheels with disc brakes on both ends. Not just mechanically, SRV 300 adopts the design philosophy of its American cousin.
Harley-inspired Design
It sports a traditional low-slung cruiser stance with a tapered handlebar, a low saddle and slightly forward-set footpegs. Other design highlights inspired by Harley models are a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, a round headlight and metal bodywork.

The single-piece seat looks comfy enough for the rider but seems a little too short to accommodate a pillion. The motorcycle receives a blacked-out theme with a dark treatment given to the engine-gearbox assembly, suspension setup, swingarm, alloy wheels, handlebar and rearview mirrors.
As far as features go, SRV 300 will be equipped with a full LED lighting setup and a digital instrument cluster. Safety will be taken care of by a dual-channel ABS as standard. It is yet to be confirmed if SRV 300 will indeed be rebadged into a Harley Davidson model but there are strong indications that it will. Looking to start its new innings in the Indian market, Harley-Davidson will be launching Pan America 1250 and Pan America 1250 Special in June. As may be recalled, Pan America was launched globally earlier this year in February. In the Indian market, Harley will be selling these motorcycles as part of its distribution and sales agreement with Hero MotoCorp.

One of the USPs for Pan America is its unique design that looks rugged and powerful. Some of the key features include 6.8 inch touchscreen TFT display with Bluetooth and navigation, LED turn signals, tall windscreen, sleek dual seat, upswept exhaust and short tail section.
The motorcycle comes with 5V USB-C port that can be used for charging as well as updating the instrument console. Pan America offers a comfortable, upright riding stance, which would be suitable for both on-road and off-road environments. Colour options for Pan America include Vivid Black and River Rock Gray.
Pan America 1250 Special is a premium version, which offers a range of exclusive features. Special variant has additional colour options of Gauntlet Gray Metallic, Deadwood Green and Baja Orange with Stone Washed White Pearl (dual-tone).

Pan America 1250 powertrain
Pan America is equipped with a 1,252 cc motor that is capable of generating 152 PS of max power at 8750 rpm and 128 Nm of peak torque at 6750 rpm. Users can choose from five pre-programmed ride modes of Sport, Road, Rain, Off-Road and Off-Road Plus. Advanced users can create their own customized ride mode, wherein they can adjust various settings such as power delivery, engine braking, cornering ABS, and cornering traction control.
Talking about suspension, Pan America has 47mm inverted front forks and hydraulic monoshock rear suspension. Both front and rear suspension offer compression, rebound and spring preload adjustability. Braking duties are performed by radially mounted, monoblock, 4-piston calliper at the front and floating, single piston calliper at the rear. The motorcycle utilizes 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels.
Pan America measures 2,265 mm in length and has a wheelbase of 1,580 mm. It has dry weight of 242 kg and offers 175 mm ground clearance.
