KTM 390 Adventure X Bookings On Hold – New Model To Get Full Suite Of Electronic Rider Aids

New KTM 390 Adventure XBookings for KTM 390 Adventure X are temporarily on hold, as the updated model is expected to be launched in the coming weeks
Positioned as a more accessible version of the standard KTM 390 Adventure, the 390 Adventure X was launched in 2023. The latter is a road-biased machine, as compared to the off-road focused 390 Adventure. KTM 390 Adventure X is currently priced at Rs 2.91 lakh. In comparison, top-spec 390 Adventure has a price tag of Rs 3.68 lakh.
One key difference between the two bikes lies in the number of electronic rider aids offered. This will change with the updated 390 Adventure X, as it will be getting the complete electronic rider aids kit, as offered with 390 Adventure. Let’s check out the details.
KTM 390 Adventure X – Updated rider aids
In its current form, KTM 390 Adventure X has features like offroad mode, which includes offroad ABS. The updated model will get a more comprehensive electronic rider aids suite, with features like cornering ABS, traction control and riding modes of Rain, Street and Off-road. The riding modes work by controlling the power delivery and throttle response and adjusting the ABS and traction control response.
KTM 390 Adventure X will also be getting cruise control and its dedicated switchgear. This feature will be quite useful for enthusiasts who frequently use their bike for long distance touring. Users can activate cruise control with a single press of a button. There’s also a dedicated button for increasing or decreasing the speed of cruise control. Cruise control disengages automatically when brake is applied and re-engages automatically upon throttle action.
    Core hardware remains unchanged
While getting the full suite of electronic rider aids, KTM 390 Adventure X will continue with the existing hardware. Powering the bike is a 399cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled engine that generates 45 PS and 39 Nm of peak torque. It is paired with a 6-speed transmission.
KTM 390 Adventure X utilizes a steel trellis frame, with 43mm WP Apex USD front forks. These are non-adjustable, as compared to compression and rebound adjustable units available with 390 Adventure. At the rear, 390 Adventure X has a preload adjustable monoshock suspension. The monoshock unit onboard 390 Adventure is both preload and rebound adjustable.
Braking setup of KTM 390 Adventure X comprises 320 mm and 240 mm disc brakes at front and rear, respectively. The bike has 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels, wrapped in Apollo Tramplr dual-purpose tubeless tyres.
    Updated KTM 390 Adventure X – Pricing
With the addition of premium electronic rider aids, the updated KTM 390 Adventure X could see a price increase of around Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000. Even with the price hike, 390 Adventure X will still allow savings of around Rs 60,000 when compared to the top-spec 390 Adventure. With updated electronics, the 390 Adventure X will offer a better overall package. It will continue to rival the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, which is available at a starting price of Rs 2.85 lakh.

The company’s 46,086 units sold last month did not yield any positive growth in both YoY and MoM aspects. The company’s overall best-seller was RayZR scooter and best-selling motorcycle was the FZ lineup.
With 13,023 units sold, RayZR commanded 28.26% of Yamaha’s total sales and secured the best-seller position. However, RayZR faced major sales decline when compared to the 19,794 units sold last year and 14,183 units sold a month before, thus resulting in 34.21% YoY and 8.18% MoM decline, losing 6,771 units YoY and 1,160 units MoM in volume respectively.
Yamaha Sales Breakup May 2025 – YoY
In 2nd place, we have FZ lineup which went the same route as RayZR as it sold 12,979 units and constituted 28.16% of Yamaha’s total sales. FZ sales dropped by 9.61% YoY as opposed to 14,359 units sold last year with 1,380 units lost in volume and 3.73% MoM decline as opposed to 13,482 units sold a month before, losing 503 units in volume.
The premium MT-15 and R15 sales stood at 7,034 units and 5,997 units respectively and secured 3rd and 4th places on this list. Both bikes witnessed similar trends in sales with 51.86% and 42.53% YoY decline, but with a MoM growth of 0.13% and 22.19% respectively. Especially the R15 which posted a MoM volume gain of 1,089 units.
Aerox registered YoY and MoM growth
Fascino sales were not far off at 5,251 units and it constitutes 11.39% of Yamaha’s total sales. Sales took a downfall with 43.72% YoY and 7.52% MoM declines. Yamaha Aerox 155 is the only vehicle on this list to register positive growth in both YoY and MoM aspects. With 1,760 units sold, Aerox 155 saw 5.33% YoY and 18.60% MoM growth.
Yamaha Sales Breakup May 2025 – MoM
Volume growth with Aerox 155 stood at 89 units YoY and 276 units MoM. The company’s flagship offerings R3 and MT-03 sold 42 units in total, which doubled in volume YoY as opposed to 21 units sold last year. However, it was a 36.36% MoM decline when compared to 66 units sold in April 2025.

Ather EL Platform To Debut At Community Day 2025 – More Affordable EV

2025 Ather 450S and 450XWith a sub-Rs 1 lakh price, Ather’s new affordable electric scooter can target a broader segment of users
Most of the leading electric two-wheeler manufacturers like TVS, Bajaj, Ola and Hero MotoCorp have tasted success with their affordable electric scooters. Ather Energy too saw similar success with the Rizta, having recently crossed the 1 lakh sales milestone. Encouraged with these positive outcomes, Ather is working on an entirely new affordable EL electric scooter platform. It will be unveiled at the brand’s 2025 Community Day. Let’s check out the details.
Ather new EL electric scooter platform – What to expect?
While Ather’s performance-oriented electric scooters have gained a sizable fan following, volumes were relatively limited due to the high pricing. Aligning its strategy with evolving market preferences, Ather expanded its portfolio to include the family-oriented Rizta electric scooter. It is available at a starting price of Rs 99,999, making it the most affordable Ather electric scooter.
With its accessible price point and cool design, Ather Rizta emerged a bestseller. However, the Rs 1 lakh price tag can still appear costly to a large segment of potential buyers. Especially when more affordable options are available. For example, the Ola S1X is priced at Rs 66,999. Vida too has affordable electric scooters such as the Vida V2 Lite (Rs 74,000) and Vida V2 Plus (85,300).
Ather New Affordable Electric Scooter Headlight Design
India’s top selling electric scooter TVS iQube is available at a starting price of Rs 94,434. With its new EL scooter platform, Ather may have plans to challenge these more accessible electric scooters. While not revealing any details, Ather said that its new EL platform will be versatile and cost-effective. It will allow the brand to strengthen its portfolio and suit the needs of budget-conscious customers.
Ather will be unveiling the EL platform and some concept models based on the EL platform at its 2025 Community Day. The event is planned to be held in August. While official details are not available, Ather’s new EL platform could essentially focus on a no-frills approach. For example, it could use a lower-configured instrument console, missing out on some of the premium connectivity features. Ather EL platform-based electric scooter could also get fewer ride assist features.
Ather Stack 7.0 to be launched
At its 2025 Community Day, Ather will also debut its upgraded software stack – Ather Stack 7.0. Multiple new features are likely which will be available with the Rizta, 450S, Ather 450X and 450 Apex. In the last Ather Stack 6.0, the updates included a refreshed mobile app, live charging notifications, WhatsApp messages on dashboard, Alexa voice commands, live location sharing and ping my scooter.
    Ather Rizta
To ensure a seamless experience for users, Ather is also developing its next-generation of Grid fast chargers. These will allow faster charging in a hassle-free manner. As of now, the Ather Grid chargers are designed to load 1.5 km / minute. Vida electric scooters can also be charged at these Ather Grid chargers. However, Vida scooter charging speed is slightly lower at 1.2 km / minute. More details about the new-gen Grid fast chargers are expected to be revealed at the 2025 Community Day. More
