Honda CD 110 Discontinued – Splendor Rival Removed from Official Website

Honda CD 110 Dream DeluxeBefore Shine 100 was launched, the CD 110 was the most affordable Honda commuter bike in India
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) recently updated its website in a new format. While everything looks great, the CD 110 is no longer listed. It is likely that the bike has been discontinued due to low sales. It was one of the most affordable offerings into Honda’s motorcycle portfolio. Let’s check out the details.
    Why Honda CD 110 discontinued?
At the time of its launch in 2014, CD 110 was offered at a starting price of Rs 42,000. Being one of the most affordable, it emerged as a popular choice in the entry-level commuter segment. Honda CD 110 continued to deliver consistent results over the years. However, things started to change when Honda Shine 100 was launched in March 2023.
Honda Shine 100 was competitively priced, around Rs 8k cheaper than the CD 110. With no major difference in the equipment list and only a slight difference in performance, consumer preferences started to shift in favour of the more affordable Shine 100. However, there are areas where CD 110 had a lead over Shine 100. For example, CD 110 was offered with tubeless tyres in comparison to tube type tyres used with Shine 100.
Similarly, CD 110 had a claimed mileage of 74 km/l in comparison to around 65 km/l of Shine 100. However, due to the price difference between the two bikes, it appears that these positive aspects of CD 110 were set aside. Shine 100 has been receiving good reviews from users, which has also contributed to its sales.
    2020 Honda CD 110 Dream BS6
As sales of Shine 100 climbed higher, an opposite effect was noted with CD 110. In February 2025, SIAM data revealed that only a single unit of CD 110 was sold. Sales in March 2025 were only slightly better at 33 units. In the next month, Honda CD 110 sales dropped to zero. This could have been the trigger for the bike’s discontinuation. However, Honda has not made any official announcement regarding the same. It is also not known if Honda CD 110 will be replaced with another product.
    Alternative options for customers
While Honda CD 110 was a good choice in the commuter segment, there are quite a few alternatives available in the market. Honda Shine 100 has already proven to be a good alternative, although it does not have tubeless tyres. Among other brands, Hero MotoCorp has the biggest portfolio of entry-level commuter bikes. However, Hero currently does not offer a 110cc motorcycle.
Honda CD 110 last known price was Rs 76,401. In this price range, one can consider Hero motorcycles such as Splendor Plus, Passion+ and HF Deluxe. In this segment, Bajaj has options such as Platina 110 and CT 110X. Options from TVS Motor include the Star City Plus and TVS Sport.
As is evident, quite a few alternatives for Honda CD 110 are available in the market. In its last known configuration, Honda CD 110 was equipped with a 109.51cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine. It generates 8.79 PS and 9.30 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 4-speed gearbox. With advanced technologies such as Enhanced Smart Power (eSP), the bike was able to deliver a smooth performance and higher mileage. More

2025 TVS Jupiter 125 DT SXC Launch Price Rs 89k – What’s New?

2025 TVS Jupiter 125 DT SXC Variant
Remember the recent teasers of 2025 Jupiter 125 that sparked speculations of a new generation model? TVS Motor has just launched that product, but it is not what the automotive fraternity thought it would be. What it is, is a new DT SXC variant with dual-tone colourway and a new and larger instrument screen. Let’s take a closer look.
2025 TVS Jupiter 125 DT SXC
TVS Motor has just launched the 2025 Jupiter 125 DT SXC variant in India. This is a new variant that packs two new colourways for this scooter along with some functional updates including a new and larger colour instrument cluster. These are likely to boost the appeal of Jupiter 125 further against rivals like Honda Activa 125, Yamaha Fascino and Suzuki Access.
TVS Jupiter 125 DT SXC Variant
Where pricing is concerned, the new DT SXC variant costs Rs 88,942 (Ex-sh). There are two new colourways with DT SXC variant. These are Ivory Brown and Ivory Grey. In Jupiter 125’s variant hierarchy, DT SXC is positioned below the SmartXonnect variant that costs Rs 92,001 (Ex-sh).
This is interesting because SmartXonnect variant misses out on the new dual-tone colourway and it gets a split instrument cluster with two distinct elements that looks slightly like an afterthought. But the higher price is because one of these screens on SmartXonnect variant is a TFT unit which is considered superior.
TVS Jupiter 125 DT SXC Variant
    What’s new?
In contrast, DT SXC gets a larger single-piece colour instrument cluster that is an LCD unit. It also supports SmartXonnect connectivity suite including call alerts, SMS alerts, turn-by-turn navigation voice commands, vehicle tracking with smartphone app and other features. Other than these updates, there isn’t anything new with DT SXC variant.
Mechanically, 2025 TVS Jupiter 125 continues to be powered by the same 124.8cc single-cylinder engine that is capable of generating up to 8.7 bhp of peak power and 11.1 Nm of peak torque with iGo assist. It continues to get the same conveniences like a large under-seat storage and front fuel filler cap, among others.
TVS Jupiter 125 DT SXC Variant
There is still no confirmation from the brand or any test mule sightings of a new generation model of Jupiter 125. If there is one, it would borrow design elements from Jupiter 110 scooter launched last year with the sleek LED DRL signature and LED tail lights and LED indicators.

Ola Electric Loses Market Share In May 2025; TVS, Bajaj Overtake

Ola S1 Pro Sona EditionDespite challenges, Ola Electric continues to focus on the road ahead by introducing new products and new-gen models
A major churn can be seen in the electric two-wheeler segment, with Ola Electric struggling to maintain its market share. While it was earlier ranked as the No.1 EV brand, Ola Electric has slipped to the third spot in May 2025. The battle for the top position is now between TVS Motor and Bajaj or iQube vs. Chetak. Let’s analyse some more data to understand where things stand in the electric two-wheeler segment in May 2025.
TVS Motor leads with 25% market share
Data from Vahan portal (as of May 26, 2025) reveals TVS Motor leading the race with vehicle registrations at 19,451 units. With that, TVS has a market share of 25% in May 2025 in the electric two-wheeler segment. That’s a YoY gain, as compared to 15.6% market share reported in May 2024. MoM analysis is also positive, as market share in April 2025 was at 22.3%.
At number two in the list is Bajaj Auto, with vehicle registrations at 17,167 units. Market share is at 22.6% in May 2025, as compared to 12.1% in May 2024. MoM market share analysis is also positive when compared to 21.4% share in April 2025. Bajaj Auto’s primary EV product, the Chetak electric scooter, contributes more than 10% to the company’s overall sales. Bajaj launched the Chetak 3503 in April, which is the most affordable in the 35 series with a starting price of Rs 1.10 lakh.
    Ola Electric ranked third
Vehicle registrations of Ola Electric were at 15,221 units, which makes for a market share of 20%. Not very distant from TVS and Bajaj, but quite a big dip, considering Ola’s market share was 49.2% a year ago. MoM sales analysis is also negative with 22.1% market share reported in April 2025.
Ola Electric Loses Market Share in May 2025
Despite having a diversified portfolio, Ola Electric sales are down. The company has been facing multiple issues in recent times. There has been misconducts in sales as several Ola Electric outlets functioning without relevant trade certificates. Ola had also faced negative rep related to product quality and after-sales service. Ola Electric has a big task at hand to regain consumer trust and confidence, which is yet to happen.
Ola Electric’s cell manufacturing project is also facing challenges in execution. In the IPO prospectus, around Rs 1,277 crore was allocated for increasing lithium-ion cell production capacity. The target was to reach 6.4GWh from 5GWh under the second phase. However, these funds remain unutilized, according to monitoring agency ICRA.
    Ather lists at 4th place
At number four is Ather Electric, with vehicle registrations at 9,962 units in May 2025. Market share is at 13.1%, as compared to 8.1% in May 2024. However, MoM market share analysis is negative since the share was 14.9% in April 2025.
In the coming months, the electric two-wheeler segment can see another churn with Hero MotoCorp EV sales gaining traction. The company is set to launch its new affordable Vida VX2 range, which can boost sales volumes. In April 2025, Hero MotoCorp was ranked 5th with a market share of 7%.
