Each of these models are produced at the Bajaj Auto Plant, both for domestic sales and exports to over 118 global markets. The company recently achieved a major milestone with its 1 millionth KTM rolling off production lines from the Bajaj Chakan plant in Pune.Sales of the company in the past month have been low in domestic markets. Sales dipped 9.55 percent YoY to 4,197 units in Jan 2023, down from 4,640 units sold in Jan 2022. MoM sales however, improved 26.61 percent from 3,315 units sales in Dec 2022.KTM Sales Jan 2023 – DomesticIt was the KTM 200 (Duke and RC) that topped sales charts with 2,118 units sold in the past month, down 11.68 percent from 2,398 units sold in Jan 2022. This model commands a 50.46 percent share down from 54.12 percent held in Dec 2022 when sales had stood at 1,794 units.Sales of the KTM 250 range also fell YoY by 4.33 percent to 1,170 units in Jan 2023 from 1,223 units sold in Jan 2022. It currently holds a 27.88 percent share. MoM sales grew by 19.27 percent from 981 units sold in Dec 2022.KTM Sales Jan 2023 – DomesticGood demand was experienced for the KTM 390 with 787 units sold last month, up 226.56 percent YoY over 241 units sold in Dec 2022. MoM sales also increased by 172.32 percent from 289 units sold in Dec 2022. This growth improved share percentage from 8.72 held in Dec 2022 to 18.75 percent in the past month. Sales of KTM 125 series dipped YoY by 84.32 percent and MoM by 51.39 percent to 122 units. There had been 778 units sold in Jan 2022 while in Dec 2022 sales in domestic markets stood at 251 units.KTM Sales Jan 2023 – ExportsKTM Exports on the other hand saw better results. Total exports grew to 6,982 units in Jan 2023 up 65.57 percent from 4,217 units shipped in Jan 2022. MoM growth was at 5.13 percent from 6,641 units sold in Dec 2022.In export markets it was the KTM 390 that saw the most demand. Sales improved 261.56 percent YoY to 4,364 units, up from 1,207 units sold in Jan 2022. This was a volume growth of 3,157 units. MoM growth was at 21.02 percent from 3,606 units sold in Dec 2022. Share improved to 62.50 percent in Jan 2023 from 54.30 percent held in Dec 2022. KTM 125 sales improved 175.83 percent MoM to 2,168 units while exports of the KTM 250 and 200 series dipped YoY and MoM to 408 units and 42 units respectively.KTM Sales Jan 2023 – ExportsTotal KTM Sales Jan 2023Taking total sales into account, it was a YoY growth of 26.22 percent to 11,179 units in Jan 2023 from 8,857 units sold in Jan 2022. Sales of KTM 390 series stood at 5,151 units, up 255.73 percent YoY and 32.25 percent MoM while KTM 125 series sales saw a 194.34 percent YoY and 120.83 percent MoM growth to 2,290 units in Jan 2023.KTM Sales Jan 2023 – TotalSales of the KTM 200 dipped YoY and MoM by 47.39 percent and 40.02 percent respectively to 2,160 units while KTM 250 total sales fell to 1,578 units in Jan 2023 down 37.50 percent over 2,525 units sold in Jan 2022. It was a MoM volume growth of 21,069 units from 6,35,405 units sold in Dec 2022.Motorcycle sales lists were topped by the Hero Splendor at no. 1 with sales of 2,61,833 units sold in the past month, up 25.72 percent from 2,08,263 units sold in Jan 2022. It was a 53,570 unit volume growth with the Hero commanding a 39.88 percent share on this list. Total sales stood at 3,41,791 units in Jan 2023 up from 2,95,994 units sold in Jan 2022. This was a volume growth of 45,797 units. When compared on a MoM basis, scooter sales increased significantly over 2,74,335 units sold in Dec 2022.In January 2023 as well, Honda Activa continued its reign in the scooter kingdom despite reporting a YoY de-growth. Total sales of the Activa scooter stood at 1,30,001 units last month, a 9.24 percent YoY dip from 1,43,234 units sold in Jan 2022. This was a 13,233 unit volume de-growth with the Activa commanding a 38.04 percent share. Apart from the Honda Activa, no other scooter on this list was able to cross the 1 lakh unit sales mark.Top 10 Scooter Sales Jan 2023At no. 2 was TVS Jupiter with sales growth of 25.32 percent YoY. Sales increased to 54,484 units in the past month, up from 43,476 units sold in Jan 2022. This was an 11,008 unit volume growth with the Jupiter commanding a 15.94 percent share on this list. MoM sales of the Jupiter also increased to 39,849 units sold in Dec 2022.Suzuki Access was up next with sales of 45,497 units in Jan 2023. This was a 7.95 percent YoY growth from 42,148 units sold in Jan 2022 with a volume growth of 3,349 units. TVS Ntorq sales increased 15.35 percent YoY to 24,362 units, up from 21,120 units sold in Jan 2022. Sales slipped to 18,752 units in the past month, down 32.64 percent from 27,837 units sold in Jan 2022. In Dec 2022, the company had sold 20,615 units.       With a price tag of Rs. 1,27,400 (ex-sh), 2023 Yamaha FZ-S Ver 4.0 competes with Xtreme 160R, Apache RTR 160 4V and Pulsar N160New Yamaha FZS V4.0The FZ lineup acts as an entry-level portal into Yamaha’s motorcycle lineup. Thanks to this, it is the highest-selling Yamaha motorcycle in India. Yamaha has now updated FZ-S FI for 2023 and now bears Ver 4.0 tag. There are considerable changes to the outgoing model.Price increment associated with this update is Rs. 3,000. New Yamaha FZS V4.0 is priced from Rs. 1,27,400, as opposed to Rs. 1,24,400 for the outgoing model (both prices ex-sh). Price increment seems to be justified considering everything new with Ver 4.0. Along with new FZS, Yamaha also launched updated versions of FZ-X, R15 V4 and MT-15.2023 Yamaha FZ-S Ver 4.0First batch of the new FZ-S has started to arrive at dealer showrooms. Thanks to K2K Motovlogs we now have a detailed walkaround of 2023 Yamaha FZ-S. Main change that is immediately visible is its front headlight design. Ver 4.0 new face gets twin LED DRLs flanking the main LED headlight unit. These new DRLs somewhat remind me of the red tattoo on Kratos’ face in the God Of War video game.We would have liked it if Yamaha got rid of the chrome element surrounding its fake air vent on its tank shrouds. This still is the only sour point on an otherwise brilliant-looking motorcycle. Nonetheless, it lends FZ-S Ver 4.0 a strong character.[embedded content][embedded content]Other changes include a larger instrument console. This is the same unit as found on Yamaha MT-15. New FZS has a larger LCD display that gets Bluetooth connectivity. It displays phone battery level, SMS alerts and call alerts on the console. No turn-by-turn navigation, though.LED turn indicators are now offered as standard. Earlier, it was offered only as a paid accessory. Even though the braking hardware is kept similar to the outgoing model, TCS has been added with Ver 4.0. This is a welcome addition to Yamaha’s entry-level motorcycle. Taking on corners will be even more inspiring than before. Dual-channel ABS is still not offered.Specs & RivalsWith the new model, Yamaha has integrated OBD-II diagnostics as well. The 149cc single-cylinder engine is BS6 phase II compliant, meeting RDE norms. Along with that, this engine is E20 compliant as well. Meaning, it is capable of running on Ethanol blends up to 20%.Mechanically, there are no changes as of FZ-S Ver 4.0. It still makes 12.4 PS of power and 13.3 Nm of torque. Engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. This is a fairly fuel-efficient 150cc motorcycle. Yamaha is offering the same three shades that it used to offer with FZ-S ver 3.0. These are Metallic Black, Metallic Grey and Majesty Red. Only Metallic Grey gets Blue alloys, while the other two get them in Gold shade. More
