At Rs. 1.85 lakh (ex-sh, introductory), the “Biggest Pulsar ever” Pulsar NS400Z is insane value for money. But what else can you get for Rs. 1.85 lakh (ex-sh) from other rival brands in India? Let’s take a look.Pulsar NS400Z Pricing – Very Competitive!Bajaj is known for aggressive price strategies. Recently launched Pulsar NS400Z is no different. At Rs. 1.85 lakh, it is a shiny example of aggressive pricing. Best thing about NS400Z’s pricing is that there are no variants and all bells and whistles are standard. We looked at what rival brands are offering at NS400Z’s price point. Results will shock you.TVS Apache RTR 310 ReviewFrom TVSPulsar NS400Z’s immediate rival from TVS is Apache RTR 310. However, TVS has priced it from Rs. 2.43 lakh (ex-sh) for the base variant, which is Rs. 58,000 more than Pulsar NS400Z. When compared to NS400Z, RTR 310 is 11% less powerful, 18% less torquey and is 5kg lighter in weight.TVS has jam-packed Apache RTR 310 with gizmos, electronics and features. But most of them are bundled with optional BTO packs and the base Rs. 2.43 lakh (ex-sh) variant miss out on almost all of them. If you want all the gizmos, the optional Dynamic Pro Kit BTO pack and fancy colours, Apache RTR 310 is easily Rs. 1 lakh+ more expensive than Pulsar NS 400Z.Honda CB300FFrom HondaUnlike TVS with a significant price gap, Honda has CB300F which is close to Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z’s pricing. Honda also has CB300R priced at Rs. 2.4 lakh (ex-sh), but CB300F is closer in price to NS400Z at Rs. 1.7 lakh (ex-sh). But it is 21 kg lighter and costs Rs. 15,000 less.Hero Karizma XMR 210 ReviewFrom HeroWorld’s largest 2W manufacturer has launched its flagship Mavrick 440 starting at Rs. 2 lakh (ex-sh) and is comparable to Pulsar NS400Z price-wise. However, Hero’s Karizma XMR is closer in cost at Rs. 1.8 lakh (ex-sh). Karizma gets a full fairing and is 36% less powerful, 42% less torquey, around 10 kg lighter and costs Rs. 5,000 less than NS400Z.Suzuki Gixxer 250From SuzukiBajaj Pulsar NS400Z rival from the house of Suzuki is Gixxer 250. It is considered to be one of the most underrated motorcycles in India. But priced at Rs. 1.84 lakh (ex-sh), it costs just as much as the recently launched Pulsar NS400Z, but has around 37% less power, 36% less torque, 18 kg less kerb weight and a lot less equipment.New Yamaha R15From YamahaTeam Blue offers YZF-R15 as its flagship single-cylinder offering in India. Priced between Rs. 1.83 lakh and Rs. 1.99 lakh (ex-sh), R15 has a lot of emotional draw in India for its looks. But spec to spec, Yamama R15 is 54% less powerful, around 60% less torquey and weighs 33 kg less than Pulsar NS400Z.KTM Duke 125From KTMTeam Orange is perceived as a premium offering. Cost-wise, KTM is priced at a premium too. The closest priced offering from KTM to a Pulsar NS400Z is surprisingly 125 Duke with a dinky little 124cc engine priced at Rs. 1.79 lakh (ex-sh). It is 64% less powerful and 66% less torquey than Pulsar NS400Z. At 159 kg, KTM 125 Duke is only 15 kg lighter than Pulsar NS400Z. Despite being a naked 125cc bike, 125 Duke is heavier than a fully-faired R15. More

New Triumph 400 Motorcycle Launch This Year – Rajiv Bajaj

Triumph Speedmaster 400 renderTo push volumes in middle-weight motorcycle segment, Bajaj Auto is planning a new Triumph 400, updated 390 range and moreThe strategic partnership between Bajaj and Triumph has resulted in the much-needed portfolio expansion of Triumph brand to incorporate affordable motorcycles. The company has launched two motorcycles on the new 400cc single-cylinder platform. Bajaj Auto CEO, Rajiv Bajaj, has revealed that there is a new Triumph motorcycle to be revealed later this year.Rajiv Bajaj Confirms New Triumph 400 LaunchThe company is expected to go on a product offensive in premium middle-weight motorcycle segment. Speaking to CNBC TV18, he said “There will be at least one more Triumph to be introduced later this year and there are several in development”. There is a very good probability of Bajaj referring to Thruxton 400.Triumph Thruxton 400 bikini fairing spied. Image – Auto StreetTriumph Thruxton 400 is a semi-faired motorcycle that has been spotted testing already. It bears the design of the iconic Thruxton R with its bikini fairing. Said motorcycle will be positioned on a similar 400cc platform as Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X. It will bear the iconic charm of a Cafe Racer genre and will be a unique proposition at around 2.5 lakh (ex-sh).Rajiv Bajaj has also hinted at several other Triumph motorcycles being in development. Probable motorcycles would cater to multiple genres. After Roadster, Scrambler and Cafe Racer, there could be a Bobber with Bonneville or Speedmaster name, a fully-faired machine with Daytona name, or even a capable ADV with Tiger Sport name.Triumph Thruxton 400 RenderPushing the middle-weight segment envelopeAccording to Rajiv Bajaj, middle-weight motorcycle space is the most lucrative segment in the world. Bajaj aims to be in the top three of any given segment. Within middle-weight motorcycle segment, Bajaj currently sells Dominar 400 and the recently launched Pulsar NS400Z along with Speed 400 twins and the 390 range with partner brands like Triumph, Husqvarna and KTM.Currently, this segment is dominated by Royal Enfield with a slew of 350cc and 450cc motorcycles. Bajaj aims to inch closer towards Royal Enfield’s numbers. Bajaj mentioned that the company aims to reach the 35,000 motorcycles per month mark in this segment. Which is about half the volume of what Royal Enfield is currently pushing. To meet this goal, Bajaj is on the verge of launching multiple new motorcycles. We should expect a new 390 Adventure, 390 Enduro and new RC 390 under the KTM brand. Under their own Bajaj brand, we can expect a new Dominar with updated features or even a fully faired version of Pulsar NS400Z (RS400Z ?).The Z in the recently launched Pulsar NS400Z is a hint that there will be more motorcycles launched with this suffix. Currently, Pulsar NS400Z is only on sale in India and is soon to be launched in Latin American markets. In India, Bajaj has struck a tremendously aggressive price point of Rs. 1.85 lakh (ex-sh) and is offered in a sole variant with all features as standard. Also read – Bajaj Plans 5-6 CNG motorcycles by 2025Source More

Bajaj CNG Bike Blueprint Leaked Ahead Of Launch – Details Revealed

Bajaj CNG Bike Blueprint LeakedOwing to its fuel efficient nature, Bajaj CNG bike could claim mileage (fuel efficiency) figures around 90 km/kg or even 100 km/kgAfter pioneering petrol-powered 2W portfolio, Bajaj Auto is spearheading into CNG motorcycle realm. Engineering samples have been under testing. Bajaj is developing around 5-6 CNG motorcycles by 2025, first of which, will launch on 18th June 2024. Ahead of launch, bike’s blueprints have been leaked. Let’s take a look.Bajaj CNG Bike Blueprint Leaked Ahead Of LaunchIn the past, many individuals have turned towards aftermarket CNG kits for motorcycles with bulky side panniers. Now, Bajaj is coming up with India’s first OEM-developed CNG-powered motorcycle. The blueprints leaked online ahead of launch, reveal interesting details about this upcoming motorcycle.Bajaj CNG Bike Blueprint Leaked – 1For starters, these blueprints don’t show an accurate representation of the bike’s cycle parts and componentry. They show twin rear suspension while the actual bike gets a mono-shock. Blueprints lack spokes for wheels, swingarm, headlights and other elements, all of which production-spec bike will get. Will it get both petrol and CNG?The blueprints show how Bajaj has laid powertrain-related components on this upcoming CNG motorcycle. For space optimisation, Bajaj has used a sloper engine that has been very common in entry-level commuter bikes for decades. It frees up space in engine bay for Bajaj to add CNG cylinder or cylinders.Bajaj CNG Bike Blueprint Leaked – 2CNG refilling nozzle seems to be at the front and cylinder looks like it will be positioned below rider’s seat. This eats into bike’s petrol tank and we should expect a much smaller tank capacity. We should expect a similar approach to petrol tank as conventional bikes with the lid on top.Squeezing CNG storage into this area has led to pushing battery compartment further behind. Bike’s airbox now seems to be pushed all the way back, below pillion seat. An underbelly exhaust would have helped in mass centralization further. But the tight packaging means we will get a conventional exhaust setup.Bajaj CNG Bike Blueprint Leaked – 3All these components are mounted on a double cradle chassis with reinforced braces to hold the heavy CNG cylinder. Engine is likely to be a 110cc unit or a 125cc unit. Pricing will be at a premium owing to the significant development costs. We reckon Rs. 75K to 80K (ex-sh). There is a good chance of Bajaj claiming close to 90 km/kg or even 100 km/kg mileage (fuel efficiency) with this motorcycle.India is the largest motorcycle and scooter market in the world. India is also one of the most price-sensitive markets too. Combining both sentences, we can deduce that Indian market favours very economical 2W vehicles. Something with half the running costs of petrol-powered 2W vehicles. CNG motorcycles fit the bill perfectly.Bajaj CNG Bike Launch In JuneAlso read – Bajaj launched Pulsar NS400ZSource More

Bajaj Plans To Launch 5-6 CNG Motorcycles By 2025 – 1st Coming Next Month

Bajaj CNG Bike Launch In JuneRajiv Bajaj has revealed plans about their upcoming CNG motorcycles – Planned production and pricing strategyCurrently among the leading 2W and 3W vehicle manufacturers in the world, Bajaj Auto has a lot on their plates. The company just launched their Biggest Ever Pulsar in the form of Pulsar NS400Z. Bajaj is advancing into CNG motorcycle realm and is set to launch a slew of CNG bikes.Bajaj CNG Bike ProductionRajiv Bajaj, MD of Bajaj Auto, gave a brief glimpse into the company’s roadmap where CNG motorcycles are concerned. Talking to CNBC TV18, Rajiv Bajaj disclosed key developments in company’s CNG motorcycle ventures and what we can expect from these upcoming offerings when launched.Bajaj CNG Motorcycle SpiedWhen asked about production capacity allocated for CNG motorcycles, Rajiv Bajaj mentioned that they are playing this one on safer terms. So, we should expect (relatively) limited production in the earlier days and the company will study market reception for the same. He revealed that CNG motorcycle topic often garner polarised responses from varied audiences. Some of the audience is standing on their toes to get their hands on a CNG motorcycle owing to around half the running costs compared to a traditional petrol-powered motorcycle. However, other half is not too keen on the idea of CNG powered motorcycles as they have reservations regarding weight and balance. The notion of sitting too close to a CNG cylinder also unsettles many individuals.Bajaj CNG Motorcycle SpiedSales TargetRajiv Bajaj cites Maruti Suzuki’s 27% share of CNG-powered car sales as a promising example, indicating significant potential for CNG motorcycles. Extrapolating from this, the CNG motorcycle market could reach around 1.5 lakh units as the total motorcycle sales in India are about 6 lakh per month. For now, Bajaj aims to sell about 20,000 CNG motorcycles per month. With market feedback in mind, Bajaj plans to increase production in response to demand. In the words of Rajiv Bajaj, “The opportunity is phenomenal. If executed well, the sky’s the limit.”Bajaj CNG Motorcycle SpiedHow much will it cost?Rajiv Bajaj mentioned that there are around 5 to 6 CNG motorcycles are planned to launch. First of the bunch will be launched on 18th June 2024. Rajiv Bajaj said that initially they will launch 1-2 CNG motorcycles and the remaining will come by next year. Testing for the same has already commenced and it has been caught on camera in multiple instances.Speaking about CNG motorcycle price, Rajiv Bajaj said it will not be in the entry segment like the affordable electric scooters in the Rs 70,000 range. Test mules reflect the same as they are not exactly bare bones. We can see a disc brake at the front, knuckle guards, really long seat, alloy wheels and we can expect a fully digital cluster, single-channel ABS and the likes.Speaking about CNG motorcycle’s name, it will be launched under an all new brand. Bajaj has already registered multiple new names like Trekker, Glider, Marathon, etc. Could any of these be the name of new Bajaj CNG motorcycle? We will know in a few weeks time.Source More

New Bajaj Pulsar 400 Vs Rivals – Duke 390, Dominar, Triumph 400, Apache 310, Harley 440

Bajaj Pulsar NS400 Vs RivalsWhere rivals are concerned, Bajaj Pulsar NS400 lock horns with Speed 400, Mavrick 440, Apache RTR 310, Harley X440, 390 Duke, Dominar 400, CB300R and the likesThe excitement in Indian motorcycling fraternity is off the roof at Bajaj’s facility where the company just launched its ‘Biggest Pulsar ever’. With the launch of Pulsar NS400Z, Bajaj is bringing the vastly popular Pulsar brand to a whole new level where performance single-cylinder motorcycles are concerned in India.New Bajaj Pulsar 400 Vs RivalsThe most anticipated Pulsar NS400Z is launched by Bajaj at a brilliant introductory price of Rs. 1.85 lakh (ex-sh). We’re sure this aggressive pricing is stirring the hearts of innumerous Pulsar maniacs in India. It rivals the likes of Triumph Speed 400, TVS Apache RTR 310, Hero Mavrick 440, KTM 390 Duke and Bajaj’s own Dominar 400. To some extent, Pulsar NS400 also rivals Harley-Davidson X440, Honda CB300R, BMW G 310 R and Yezdi Roadster.Bajaj Pulsar NS400ZTo keep costs in check, Bajaj Auto is offering the same 373cc engine as Dominar 400. In effect, Pulsar NS400 is essentially the Pulsar NS200 with its perimeter frame, but packs Dominar 400’s 40 bhp and 35 Nm engine. Owing to its power cruiser genre, Dominar 400 weighs a hefty 193 kg. With Pulsar NS400, weight is more manageable at 174 kg.The most powerful offering of this bunch is the KTM 390 Duke at 45 bhp and it comes at a premium costing Rs. 3.11 lakh (ex-sh). Except for Hero and Harley duo, all other motorcycles here get a DOHC 4V head along with liquid cooling. Owing to their smaller displacements, TVS Apache RTR 310 and Honda CB300R pack less performance. But they weigh less to make up for it. Especially the Honda CB300R at just 146 kg, is the lightest in this bunch.Bajaj Pulsar NS400 Vs RivalsWheelbase is the longest with Dominar 400 at 1,453 mm and it suits the bike’s power cruiser genre. All motorcycles offer a seat height of around 800 mm, while KTM 390 Duke has the tallest seat height at 830 mm. Ground clearance is 180 mm with 390 Duke, highest in this comparison and it also has the biggest fuel tank of this bunch at 13.4L. The new Pulsar NS400Z has 12L tank.Cycle parts150-section rear tyre is the norm in this high-performance single-cylinder motorcycle space and Pulsar NS400 slightly disappoints in this regard with a 140-section rear tyre. However, Harley X440 packs 140-section while Yezdi Roadster’s is 130-section. All motorcycles get dual disc brakes at both ends along with dual-channel ABS. Pulsar NS400 now packs floating disc brakes, 5-way adjustable levers, ABS ride modes, traction control system and ride-by-wire throttle.Where features are concerned, no motorcycle on this list can hold a candle against Apache RTR 310. TVS has thrown everything on Apache RTR 310 including custom BTO packs to individualise the bike further. TPMS, quickshifter, cooled seat, cornering ABS, cruise control, cornering TCS, cornering cruise control are wheelie control are some of the features that TVS Apache RTR 310 offers.Bajaj Pulsar NS400 Vs RivalsKTM 390 Duke offer a few of these attributes too. Suspension-wise, only the Hero Mavrick and Yezdi Roadster lack USD front forks, while others offer them for better handling characteristics and premium appeal. Except for the Hero-Harley duo and Yezdi Roadster, all other motorcycles pack a sportier mono-shock rear suspension setup.Stellar pricing by Bajaj AutoAll motorcycles offer LED lighting elements in their headlights, tail lights and turn indicators. Which is expected at this price point. In terms of instrumentation, Triumph is the only one adhering to semi-digital cluster for retro appeal. Dominar 400, Yezdi Roadster, BMW G 310 R and CB300R pack fully digital clusters, but they don’t feature connectivity attributes. Rest of the motorcycles including the just launched Pulsar NS400 pack phone connectivity with a dedicated app.Bajaj Pulsar NS400ZWhere pricing is concerned, KTM 390 Duke tops everything at Rs. 3.11 lakh (ex-sh). TVS Apache RTR has optional BTO packs that can take the price very high. A few motorcycles on this list like Harley-Davidson X440 have variants that can get pricey. That said, BMW G 310 R is the one that looks like it is priced at a hefty premium. On the other end, Triumph Speed 400 and Hero Mavrick 440 hit the sweet spot. That said, Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z at Rs. 1.85 lakh (ex-sh, introductory), is killer pricing and is likely to tip a lot of potential buyers in its favour over aforementioned rivals. Best part about Pulsar NS400 is that there are no variants. What the company announced, is what you get.Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z Instrument Screen More
