It is possible that Bajaj could be working on a 150cc commuter bike. It could be launched as CT150X.Bajaj new commuter bike – What to expect?The usual set of commuter bikes are largely pooled in 100cc to 125cc segment. At 150cc and above, the majority of bikes are positioned as performance-oriented machines. In this space, Bajaj already has Pulsar 150 and Pulsar N150. These are among the bestselling Pulsar bikes in the country. With the new 150cc commuter bike, Bajaj can provide something more relevant for the specific target market.New Bajaj commuter motorcycle spiedSpotted with heavy camouflage, the test mule wants to keep things under wraps as far as possible. However, a closer inspection does provide some hints about how the final version will look like. Some of the features that are evident include round headlamp, standard commuter-style handlebar with brace, heavy-duty front forks, a single piece seat and a standard grab rail. The bike also has an engine crash guard, rear tyre hugger and saree guard with integrated footrest. Just like CT125X, the new 150cc commuter is likely to have fork gaiters.As evident, there are enough similarities to link the test mule to a 150cc commuter bike under CT brand. Bajaj may also be looking to boost the CT range that hasn’t been doing all that great in comparison to Pulsar and Platina range. CT bikes have significantly fewer numbers than Pulsar and Platina, across both domestic and international markets. A new 150cc CT bike can probably bring about positive changes.Bajaj CT150X performanceIt is possible that Bajaj CT150X could get a tweaked version of the existing 149.50 cc engine in use with Pulsar 150. Power and torque output could be adjusted in favour of fuel efficiency. On-board Pulsar 150, the engine delivers 14 PS of max power and 13.25 Nm of peak torque. In comparison, Pulsar N150 has slightly higher numbers at 14.5 PS and 13.5 Nm. Both models have a constant mesh 5-speed gearbox.The engine being used with the test mule can be seen with fins. It indicates that this is an air-cooled engine. The bike comes with new alloy wheels. It has disc brake at front, which appears to be similar to that of CT125X. Other highlights include rugged foot pegs and hand guards.A 150cc commuter bike seems to have potential, as there aren’t many players in this space. Bajaj CT150X could especially do well across smaller cities and rural markets. The usual set of 100cc to 125cc bikes are quite popular, but they can reach their limits when subjected to heavy work. Current 125cc Pulsar lineup includes OG Pulsar 125 and Pulsar NS125. The latest entrant to this highly competitive segment is Bajaj Pulsar P150. Launch must be nearing as the test mules donned zero camouflage.Bajaj Pulsar P125 spotted testing – Does it make sense?In a rather surprising move, Bajaj replaced Pulsar P150 with Pulsar N150. We say surprising because Bajaj is known to hold on to its motorcycle designs and Pulsar P range debuted in November 2022. For context, design of OG Pulsar is around 15 years old. But what happens to all the dyes, jigs and manufacturing equipment dedicated to making body parts for discontinued Pulsar P150?This is where the new Pulsar test mule comes into play. Bajaj seems to be shifting Pulsar P range from 150cc to 125cc class. Lacklustre sales registered by Pulsar P150 seem to be a primary reason for its discontinuation. 150cc Pulsar buyers sought some beef and brawn that P150 never could never bring to the table.Hence the introduction of Pulsar N150. Now Pulsar P range will re-spawn in 125cc category which makes a lot of sense for Bajaj. We say this because it is 125cc Pulsars, attracting highest footfall in showrooms and they seem to have highest conversion rates as well.Pulsar P125 – Same design as P150Sales charts reflect the same with 125cc Pulsar being Bajaj’s best-seller with 35% of the company’s total sales in September 2023. Launch is likely to happen soon and it will be positioned between OG Pulsar 125 and Pulsar NS125. Price of around Rs. 90,000 (ex-sh) would be logical too.What does the new Pulsar P125 pack?First set of spy shots reveals an overall similar silhouette to Pulsar P150. This test mule shows zero camouflage on it. We would wager that none of the body panels and components from Pulsar P range will be altered.Sleek and slender body, attractive LED headlight assembly with a large projector and a unibrow-type LED DRL signature, extended tank shrouds, clip-on handlebars, an engine cowl, single-piece seat, a conventional grab handle, a semi-digital instrument cluster, a USB port and twin-LED tail lights are some of the highlights.As per componentry, upcoming Bajaj Pulsar P125 will come equipped with RSU telescopic front forks, single disc setup at the front with single-channel ABS, rear drum brake, conventional box-section swingarm, similar 17-inch alloy wheels as P150 and the same 124cc single-cylinder engine.Speaking of engine, it will develop around 11 bhp of peak power and 11 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 5-speed gearbox.     Bajaj Auto Sales October 2023 – Highest Ever Pulsar Sales Record

    Bajaj Pulsar F250Bajaj Auto has reported their highest Pulsar sales in October 2023 while it also marked the company’s highest ever domestic CV salesBajaj Auto has seen a significant increase in total domestic sales while exports ended in the red in October 2023. The company has recorded a 19 percent YoY growth in total sales (2W+CV) in October 2023 while YTD sales also improved by 3 percent during the period April to October 2023.Bajaj Auto YoY Sales October 2023Bajaj Auto Limited announced total sales (2W+CV) of 4,71,188 units in October 2023, a 19 percent YoY growth over 3,95,238 units sold in October 2022. Taking only two wheeler sales into account, there were a total of 2,78,486 units sold last month, up 35 percent when compared to 2,06,131 units sold in October 2022. There was also a MoM growth in sales when compared to 2,02,510 units sold in September 2023.Bajaj Auto Sales Oct 2023Bajaj Pulsar range that contributed most to company sales with numbers crossing the 1.61 lakh unit mark during the month. Exports on the other hand dipped 5 percent YoY to 1,29,658 units last month from 1,35,772 units shipped in October 2022. This took total 2 wheeler sales up 19 percent to 4,08,144 units from 3,41,903 units sold in October 2022.Commercial vehicle sales also grew in domestic markets by 39 percent to 51,132 units in October 2023 from 36,786 units sold in October 2022 thus making the company’s highest domestic CV sales. Exports fell by 28 percent to 11,912 units in the past month from 16,549 units shipped in October 2022. Total CV sales thus increased by 18 percent to 63,044 units from 53,335 units on a YoY basis.Bajaj Auto Sales Oct 2023 YTDTotal 2W and CV sales saw a 19 percent YoY growth to 4,71,188 units out of which there were 3,29,618 units sold in domestic markets in October 2023. Exports fell by 7 percent to 1,41,570 units from 1,52,321 units YoY.Bajaj Auto YTD Sales April-October 2023The positive streak across two wheeler domestic sales was seen on a YTD basis as well with 13,26,737 units sold in the April-October 2023 period, up 16 percent over 11,41,683 units sold in the same 7 month period of 2022. Exports of two wheelers however, fell by 20 percent to 8,52,320 units from 10,66,412 units shipped in the April – October 2022 period. This took total two wheeler sales down 1 percent to 21,79,057 units from 22,08,095 units sold on a YTD basis last year.In the CV space, Bajaj Auto also saw growth on the domestic front with a 90 percent YTD growth to 2,81,993 units in April-October 2023 from 1,48,445 units sold in the same period of 2022. Exports fell by 26 percent to 91,498 units in the first 7 months of 2023 from 1,23,356 units sold in the April-October 2022 period. Total CV sales ended positively, up 37 percent to 3,73,491 units from 2,71,801 units sold in the 2022 period.Total (2W + CV) sales in domestic markets grew by 3 percent YoY to 25,52,548 units in October 2023 from 24,79,896 units sold in the same period of 2022.     Bajaj Sales Breakup September 2023 Domestic, Exports – Pulsar, Dominar, Chetak

    Bajaj Avenger 220 StreetPulsar is the darling of Bajaj Sales breakup September 2023 charts by consistently registering positive YoY growth across both domestic and export marketsLeading Indian 2W and 3W manufacturer, Bajaj Auto, has registered a strong 3.83% YoY growth where exports are concerned. When compared to 1,18,388 units shipped a year ago with 1,22,920 units shipped in September 2023, Bajaj gained 4,532 units in volume YoY. However, The company has registered a 10.94% YoY decline in domestic market with 1,90,902 units sold last month, as opposed to 2,14,344 units. Volume loss stood at a hefty 23,442 units.Bajaj Sales Breakup September 2023 – Domestic marketThe highest-selling motorcycle lineup for Bajaj in India is still Pulsars. With 1,20,126 units, Pulsar saw 14.40% YoY growth with 15,123 units gained in volume. Pulsars alone account for 62.93% market share for Bajaj in India. In 2nd spot, we have Platina with 48,615 units and 25.47% market share.Sales declined 33.73% YoY as opposed to 73,354 Platinas sold last year, losing 24,739 units in volume. Bajaj’s CT line saw 9,398 buyers last month and sales more than halved with 65.13% decline YoY, losing 17,553 units in volume YoY. Where CT line sales halved, Chetak more than doubled its numbers with 122.75% YoY growth by selling 8,988 units last month.Next in line are Avenger line and Dominar line with 2,424 and 1,351 units sold respectively. Where Avenger saw 2.02% YoY growth, Dominar saw a 48.53% YoY decline. If we breakdown the nameplates with their respective engine displacement classes, we can see that it is the Pulsar range the 125cc engine that is Bajaj’s highest seller clocking 67,256 units.Bajaj Sales Breakup September 2023 – Domestic MarketAscending with displacement number, CT 110 and Platina range below 110cc category saw 6,943 and 48,615 units with 49.59% and 33.73% YoY decline respectively. In 110cc to 125cc engine category, We have CT 125X along with Pulsar 125 and Pulsar NS125 selling 2,455 and 67,246 units with 81.37% YoY decline and 16.17% YoY growth respectively.Pulsar 150, P150 and recently launched N150 account for 25,647 units with 3.27% YoY growth. 160cc and 200cc Pulsars account for 21,647 units with 2.97% YoY growth and 160cc Avenger saw 10.33% YoY growth from 1,848 units sold. Under 250cc, we have Avenger 220 with 576 units, Dominar 250 with 679 units and Pulsar 250 twins with 5,982 units. Only 250 Twins saw YoY growth at 263%. Dominar 400 accounted for 672 units and Chetak for 8,988 units, with the latter registering 122.75% YoY growth.Bajaj Sales Breakup September 2023 – ExportsWhere exports are concerned, Bajaj Boxer leads the charts with 73,204 units shipped with 17.26% YoY growth and 59.55% market share. In 2nd place, we have Pulsars with 22,478 units shipped, 27.61% YoY growth and 22.35% of Bajaj’s total sales. Next in line are CT and Discover line with 10,998 and 6,848 units shipped last month.Bajaj Sales Breakup September 2023 – Export MarketCT saw a 46.04% YoY decline and Discover discovered a 29.02% YoY decline. Platina shipped 2,280 units and saw 2.70% YoY growth. Lastly, we have Dominar range and Avenger range with 1,902 and 210 units shipped respectively. Both fell in the red, registering 32.31% and 42.62% YoY decline. Bajaj didn’t ship any Chetak electric scooters last month.If we break down exports with respect to engine displacement classes, Boxer under 110cc with 60,140 units shipped is Bajaj’s highest export, followed by 160cc to 200cc Pulsars with 13,549 units shipped. Going ascendingly, Bajaj sold 60,140 units of Boxer, 5,142 units of CT, 1,080 units of Discover and 1,512 units of Platina under 110cc engine class. Only Boxer and Platina showed YoY growth at 29.02% and 5% respectively.Within 110cc to 125cc segment, Bajaj shipped 6,120 Boxers, 5,856 CTs, 5,768 Discovers, 768 Platinas and 3,621 Pulsars. Only the Pulsar saw YoY growth at 46.96%. Between 125cc and 150cc engine class, Bajaj shipped 6,944 Boxers and 6,480 Pulsars in September 2023. Both CT and Pulsar saw positive growth with 5.21% and 26.61% YoY growth respectively. Within 160cc to 200cc segment, Pulsars saw 6,480 units shipped with 26.61% YoY growth.Between 200cc and 250cc class, Bajaj shipped 210 Avengers, 1,266 Dominars and 3,828 Pulsars.     Bajaj Sunny EV SpottedThe new upcoming Bajaj Sunny EV spotted testing has almost identical design and aesthetics of old ICE Sunny scooter sold in mid-90sWords scooter (ICE) and Bajaj don’t often go hand in hand in a sentence in recent past. Last ever scooter from Bajaj I could remember, is Kristal. Many have no recollection of Kristal too. That said, Bajaj used to make popular scooters in the past like Chetak and Sunny. Now that Chetak is resurrected in EV guise, Sunny EV resurrection is underway too, as seen from spy shots.Bajaj Sunny Scooter Spotted Testing – Back from the dead!The Indian 2W and 3W manufacturer, Bajaj Auto, has a diverse portfolio both here in India and abroad. With EV scene on the rise, Bajaj seems to be carving a niche for itself new entrants and mainstream bikemakers. The company currently has Chetak e-scooter which is getting a hub motor and is homologated too.There seems to be space for an entry-level e-scooter in Bajaj’s portfolio that may be filled by upcoming Sunny. Considering how old Bajaj Sunny is, there has to be a major design overhaul, right? Wrong. Bajaj seems to be playing nostalgia card or affordability card as upcoming Bajaj Sunny EV is almost identical to old Sunny (ICE scooter).The round headlights, minimal body panels, rectangular tail lights, 3-spoke steel wheels, slim and long seat, thin aprons and long front fender is reminiscent of Bajaj Sunny of the yesteryears. There are some differences, though. For starters, the spare wheel placed at the footwell is now replaced with a battery pack and rear wheel is swapped for a hub motor.Bajaj Sunny EV floorboard-mounted batteryThis is the first time Bajaj is testing an exposed and removable battery. Seeing how exposed the battery is, it wouldn’t fly in India when it goes on sale. This is likely to be a pre-production unit and production-spec model may get a concealed battery, taking up floorboard real estate. Side exhaust is gone and rear now gets a hub motor.Why though?Other tiny details that are different with this new test mule include conventional ORVMs instead of round ones of mid-90s Bajaj Sunny. Turn indicators are much sleeker and probably have LEDs too. Pillion grab rail is redesigned and still features a rack as well. Looking at this motorcycle, it would be a slow-speed scooter (top speed below 25 km/h).Bajaj Sunny EV – New Vs OldWe hope the front suspension setup has telescopic forks and not steel springs. More performance than the 3 bhp 60cc engine on old Bajaj Sunny would not be a stretch to imagine. But it begs the question of existence. Why is it under testing? Does Bajaj intend to launch it in India or just ship it to under-developed nations?It doesn’t make much sense as a last-mile-delivery application because of its floorboard-mounted battery setup. Speaking of last-mile-delivery applications, there is a very good chance of this being based on Yulu scooters too.     Bajaj Sales September 2023 – Domestic CV Sales Soared By 60%

    Bajaj Pulsar NSThe most impressive part of Bajaj Sales September 2023 charts is the significant growth of the company’s CV portfolio in domestic marketThe Indian 2W and 3W giant, Bajaj Auto, registered a negligible amount of YoY de-growth in the month of September 2023. YoY de-growth for absolute total sales was just 1% and YTD de-growth for the same attribute was much less than that. The main glow-up for Bajaj Auto sales September 2023 was in CV segment in domestic market. The most recent launch was of Pulsar N150.Bajaj Sales September 2023The company is known for its motorcycles and Chetak electric scooters. In September 2023, Bajaj sold 2,02,510 2W vehicles and registered 9% YoY de-growth over 2,22,912 units sold a year ago, losing 20,402 units along the way in volume. Bajaj shipped 1,25,202 units last month and the sales almost evened out when opposed to 1,25,443 units sold last year.The YoY volume loss in 2W exports was just a mere 241 units. In total (Domestic + Exports), Bajaj sold 3,27,712 2W vehicles and saw numbers drop by 6% YoY as opposed to 3,48,355 units sold exactly a year before. Where CVs are concerned, Bajaj sold 50,683 units last month and registered a 60% YoY growth.This is Bajaj’s highest-ever domestic CV sales. However, CV exports didn’t reciprocate the same emotions as their domestic numbers. With 14,163 units shipped, Bajaj CV exports dropped by 3% YoY. In total (Domestic + Exports), there was a 40% YoY growth for Bajaj in CV space with 64,846 units sold, as opposed to 46,392 units sold in September 2022.Bajaj sales September 2023 – YoYIn total (2W + CV) Bajaj sold 2,53,193 units in domestic market and shipped 1,39,365 units in domestic and export markets respectively. This totaled to 3,92,558 units. YoY analysis showed a 1% de-growth in domestic, exports and total (Domestic + Exports), which is almost negligible. In 2W segment, Bajaj sold 10,48,251 units, which was 12% higher when compared to 9,35,552 units sold a year ago. Where 2W exports are concerned, Bajaj shipped 7,22,662 units.This was 22% lower than what Bajaj shipped between April and September 2022. In total, Bajaj’s YTD sales for 2W vehicles stood at 17,70,913 units, down by 5% as opposed to 18,66,192 units sold a year ago. In CV sales, it is evident that Bajaj has taken decent strides and the fruits of which are reflected in domestic sales.Bajaj sales September 2023 – YTDBajaj sold 2,30,861 units and more than doubled the numbers when compared to the 1,11,659 units sold last year. With 107% growth, Bajaj gained 1,19,202 units in volume in domestic CV sales. CV exports, however, saw 25% de-growth as numbers fell from 1,06,807 units sold last year to 79,586.Total CV sales (Domestic + Exports) stood at 3,10,447 units with an impressive 42% growth. In total (2W + CV), Bajaj sold 12,79,112 units in the domestic market with 22% growth and 8,02,248 shipped to export markets with 23% de-growth.     Bajaj Sales Breakup August 2023 – Pulsar, Dominar, Platina, Boxer

    Export-spec Bajaj Dominar 200Bajaj Auto had the Pulsar as the most sold model in domestic markets while Boxer grabbed a great deal of attention globallyBajaj Auto has reported a deep decline in domestic sales in August 2023. However, the company’s exports were more positive. Bajaj Auto Limited sold a total of 2,73,230 units in August 2023, a sharp drop from 3,41,474 units sold in August 2022. Total domestic sales fell by 33.72 percent YoY to 1,52,115 units in August 2023, down 77,397 units when compared to 2,29,512 units sold in August 2022.Bajaj 2W Domestic Sales August 2023However, exports saw an improvement of 8.18 percent to 1,21,115 units in the past month as compared to 1,11,962 units shipped in August 2022. Earlier this week and just ahead of the festive season, the company introduced the new Pulsar N150. It is set to capture the attention of buyers in the country due to its aggressive styling, host of segment-first features and affordable pricing.Bajaj Pulsar saw the highest sales in August 2023 though it related to a YoY de-growth. Sales of the Pulsar stood at 90,685 units, down 6.64 percent from 97,135 units sold in August 2022. The Pulsar currently commands a 59.62 percent share on the list. In the Pulsar range it was the Pulsar 125cc that saw highest sales at 52,129 units while the Pulsar 150cc sales were at 17,111 units last month with both posting a YoY decline.Pulsar 200cc sales increased to 17,140 units along with sales of Pulsar 250cc that improved 559 percent to 4,305 units from 653 units sold in August 2022. Sales of Bajaj Platina also dipped 59.30 percent YoY to 40,693 units in August 2023 from 99,294 units sold in the same month last year.Bajaj Domestic SalesA significant decline in sales was also reported for the Bajaj CT, sales of which dipped by 61.53 percent to 9,270 as against 24,094 units sold in August 2022. However, the company has noted outstanding growth in demand for the Bajaj Chetak which reached 8,023 unit sales last month, up 190.80 percent over 2,762 units sold in August 2022.Sales de-growth was also seen for the Bajaj Avenger (1,848 units) and Dominar (1,587 units) range by 52.95 percent and 1.18 percent respectively. In the Dominar range, it was the 250cc model that saw sales growth of 19.91 percent while Dominar 500cc sales dipped 14.90 percent YoY.Bajaj Exports Improve in August 2023Bajaj Auto saw its exports grow by 8.18 percent YoY to 1,21,115 units with the Boxer and Pulsar drawing in the most demand. Boxer exports stood at 67,548 units in the past month, a YoY growth of 47.91 percent over 45,668 units sold in August 2022. The Boxer currently commands a 55.77 percent share on the company’s export list.Bajaj Exports SalesIt was the Boxer 110cc that received most demand to 50,646 units relating to a 79.54 percent YoY growth. Boxer 150cc sales also improved by 105.02 percent to 6,156 units while Boxer 150cc exports dipped by 25.68 percent to 10,746 units. Exports of the Bajaj Pulsar also grew by 60.15 percent to 34,400 units last month from 21,480 units exported in August 2022.In this range, it was the Pulsar 200cc that drew in the most sales at 20,185 units, a 65.79 percent YoY growth in exports over 12,175 units sold in August 2022.     Bajaj Pulsar N150 LaunchedThe new Bajaj Pulsar N150 is a combination of P150 and N160 motorcycles within the Pulsar lineup, offering best of both worldsPulsar line from Bajaj Auto has been one of the most popular and sought-after among motorcycling enthusiasts. Today, Bajaj has launched yet another Pulsar in India. This is the Pulsar N150 and is the third 150cc Pulsar in its portfolio. Bajaj has priced it at Rs. 1.17 lakh (ex-sh), which is in line with the segment considering Pulsar P150 starts from Rs. 1.17 lakh (ex-sh) for single disc single seat variant. Bajaj Pulsar N150 Launch SoonIf there is a motorcycle lineup that has the most models under one sub-brand, it has to be Bajaj’s Pulsar. Now, there are two 125cc Pulsars, three 150cc, two 160cc, one 200cc, one 220cc and two 250cc Pulsars. Bajaj has already confirmed launch of “biggest Pulsar” by the end of this financial year.Rushlane’s sources have confirmed 294cc engine displacement number for this “biggest Pulsar”. By the end of this financial year, Bajaj has confirmed six new Pulsar launches and Pulsar N150 is likely to be first of these six. New Pulsar N150 boasts an edgier and slightly more appealing design than Pulsar P150. There are three colour options on offer – Racing Red, Ebony Black and Metallic Pearl White. Pearl Metallic White shade resembles the one offered with Pulsar NS160. This is by far the best colour for Pulsar N range and we hope it makes it to Pulsar N160 and Pulsar N250 as well. Sticking to Bajaj’s core strategies, there is no design change with Pulsar N150 when compared to Pulsar N160. Bi-LED projector headlight setup along with LED DRLs is slightly better than on Pulsar P150. Overall design is sharper and edgier too and fits the overall aggressive character that Bajaj is going for.Even though most design attributes are from Pulsar N160, wheels and tyres aren’t. New Pulsar N150 gets the same alloy wheels as Pulsar P150. This is a 149.68cc single-cylinder engine generating 14.29 bhp and 13.5 Nm, mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
