Royal Enfield Electric Bike to Get Vibration Module and Fake Exhaust – To Keep ‘Dug Dug’ Fans Happy

Royal Enfield Electric Bike RenderApril 1, 2025 – In a move that has left the internet both confused and in splits, Royal Enfield has reportedly decided to fit its upcoming electric motorcycle, the Flying Flea, with an artificial vibration module and a digital exhaust system to replicate the iconic “dug dug” thump. The reason? To ensure it still feels like a real Royal Enfield.
After showcasing the Flying Flea — a light, silent, retro-inspired electric bike — RE purists were left clutching their helmets, wondering where the trademark vibrations had gone. With the absence of a heavy clutch, loud exhaust, and a chassis that tries to shake your bones loose, many said they “couldn’t recognise it as a Royal Enfield.”
According to highly unreliable sources close to the brand, Royal Enfield engineers have now been tasked with adding two key “heritage restoration” elements to the Flying Flea:
    1. The Dug-Dug Emulator (DDE): A Bluetooth-powered exhaust speaker that plays a loop of Royal Enfield’s classic thump — complete with gear shifts, false neutrals, and the occasional backfire.
    2. VibeBoost 650 Module™: A handlebar and footpeg-mounted vibration motor that mimics the exact tremors of a Cast Iron Bullet on idle. Riders will have the option to select modes — “Mild Massage”, “Classic Shaker”, and “Full-On Bullet”.
A prototype was apparently tested on a loyal fan who claimed, “I didn’t even realise it was electric until I reached home and saw I hadn’t spilled engine oil in the parking.”
Industry experts are calling this “the most Royal Enfield thing ever” — bringing modern technology only to simulate the past.
Meanwhile, other motorcycle manufacturers are reportedly looking into similar “heritage add-ons”, including oil-leak simulators and kick-start-only variants to appeal to nostalgic buyers.
When contacted, Royal Enfield didn’t confirm or deny the development, but a spokesperson smiled and said, “Stay thumpy, my friends.”
    Happy April Fools’ Day! More

KTM 690 Rally Spied Ahead Of Launch – Gets 3 Fuel Tanks

New KTM 690 Rally SpiedDespite battling an economic crisis, KTM is pushing ahead with its new motorcycle launches and has not put a brake on innovation. This is clearly seen with the new spy shots of KTM 690 Rally (name not confirmed) which is based on 690 Enduro R, but gets more components and features seen on limited edition 450 Rally Replica. Let’s take a closer look.
    KTM 690 Rally Spied
In KTM’s global lineup, we have the 690 Enduro R priced at around USD 12,999 (approx Rs 11.11 L) and then we have 890 Adventure R priced at USD 15,799 (approx Rs 13.5 L). There is a gray area between these two motorcycles where KTM can carve out an adventure-tourer and that’s exactly what the company seems to be doing.
Spied testing abroad, KTM’s newest adventure tourer could be called 690 Adventure R or more befitting, 690 Rally. The name 690 Rally is speculated because of how close this motorcycle looks to KTM’s extremely limited 450 Rally Replica that costs a whopping USD 40,000 (approx Rs 34.18 L) and the 100 units for 2025 are sold out.
    New KTM 690 Rally Spied
It is based on the popular KTM 690 Enduro R, but gets styling cues from 450 Rally Replica. For starters, we can see the same mainframe, seat, underseat fuel tank, wheels, braking and suspension components along with the beak as 690 Enduro R. Where it digress, is with the tall front windshield along with vertically oriented projector headlights.
    Three fuel tanks!
These are reminiscent of 450 Rally Replica along with tower-like orientation for instrument console. Notably, the recently spied KTM 690 Rally gets three fuel tanks. The main under-seat tank (13.6L) with filler at the back is identical to that of 690 Enduro. But there are two extra fuel tanks on either side of this motorcycle where tank shrouds usually go.
These tanks get dedicated fillers on either side too and significantly increases the fuel capacity, which is appreciated in both off-roading and touring communities alike. Also different on 690 Rally is the heat shield on the exhaust setup. KTM 690 Enduro R weighs around 148 kg and we can speculate 690 Rally to weigh slightly more than that.
    New KTM 690 Rally Spied
Powering this motorcycle we have a 693cc single-cylinder engine that is capable of pumping out 74 bhp of peak power in 690 Enduro R. Which is plenty for touring and off-roading, considering the expected weight figures on this motorcycle. The same tune is likely to be carried over to 690 Rally as well. Launch is likely to happen in the coming months.

2025 Yamaha XSR125 Launch Price JPY 460K (Rs 2.6L) – New Colours, Updates

2025 Yamaha XSR125 LaunchWhile there is no official statement, entry-level Yamaha bikes like the XSR125 could be a hit among enthusiasts in India
Yamaha introduced the XSR125 neo-retro bike in 2021. It is part of Yamaha’s XSR Sport Heritage family that also includes the XSR700 and XSR900. Yamaha has now introduced the 2025 XSR125 with two new colour options in Japan. Prices for this entry-level bike start at 460,000 yen (Rs 2.62 lakh). Let’s take a look.
    2025 Yamaha XSR125 – New colours
Users can now choose from two new colour options of Light Bluish Gray Metallic and Berry Dark Orange Metallic. These are essentially Silver and Brown colour options. Among the two, the brown shade comes across as the most captivating. It complements the bike’s retro vibes and adds a more premium touch.
    2025 Yamaha XSR125
The glossy brown shade has been applied on the headlamp cowl, fuel tank and side panels. For a more dynamic look and feel, the fuel tank and side panels also have contrasting shades of grey and yellow. XSR125 lettering in yellow can be seen on the side panel. Rest of the bike’s surfaces are a mix of black and metallic finishes.
Talking about the new Silver colour, the application can be seen on the fuel tank and headlamp cowl. Most of the other surfaces are black, paired with metallic finishes for a vibrant feel. The third colour option available with the 2025 Yamaha XSR125 is Black Metallic. This has been carried forward from the outgoing model. It is essentially an all-black shade, with glossy finish applied on the fuel tank and side panels.
    2025 Yamaha XSR125
A unique aspect of the Black Metallic shade is the USD forks in golden finish. In comparison, the new Silver and Brown shades have the USD forks in black finish. While golden USD forks look great with several bikes, it doesn’t seem to create a similar impact with the XSR125. The black painted units seem to pair better with this Yamaha bike. While the Silver and Black shades have the YAMAHA lettering on the fuel tank, the Brown variant has the brand’s logo on the fuel tank.
    No other changes
Apart from the two new colour additions, the 2025 Yamaha XSR125 remains the same as earlier. Powering the bike is a 124cc, water cooled, SOHC, single cylinder engine that generates 15 PS and 12 Nm of torque. It is mated to a constant mesh 6-speed gearbox. Similar to other Yamaha bikes, the XSR125 is equipped with VVA tech (variable valve actuation).
    2025 Yamaha XSR125
Other key highlights include an assist and slipper clutch for easy gear shifts. The bike utilizes a diamond frame and swing arm suspension at the rear. Both ends have 17-inch wheels, wrapped in 110/70 front and 140/70 rear tubeless tyres. Braking setup comprises single disc brakes at both ends.
Yamaha XSR125 has a circular headlamp, tear-drop fuel tank, a single piece seat, upswept exhaust, rugged sump guard and circular tail light. Tech package includes a circular full colour LCD instrument screen. It displays a range of information such as speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge and gear position.

Hero Karizma 210 Sales 0 Last 3 Months – Discontinued Ahead of Karizma 250 Launch?

Hero Karizma XMR 210Hero MotoCorp launched the Karizma XMR 210 in India on 29 August 2023 for an introductory price of Rs 1.73 lakh (Ex-sh). Fast forwarding to the fag end of March 2025, Karizma XMR 210 is facing dwindling sales. Is this model discontinued ahead of Karizma XMR 250 launch or is it facing an identity crisis? Let’s take a closer look while analysing Karizma’s sales performance over the past year.
    Hero Karizma 210 Sales Analysis
Analysing Karizma XMR 210’s sales performance over the past year, we can see that the motorcycle averaged 739 units per month by selling 4,806 units. For context, Yamaha sold 1,06,605 units of R15 in the same period averaging 8,883 units. Despite the fact that R15 packs a smaller engine with less power and torque, while costing considerably more than Karizma XMR 210.
    Hero Karizma 210 Sales
If we dive into Karizma XMR 210’s sales, we can see that sales (in the past 12 months) peaked in March 2024 with 1,874 units with a steady decline in sales MoM, July 2024 being the only exception where there a small MoM gain. Sales tanked in October 2024 at 7 units, reduced to 4 units in November 2024 and then 0 sales in December 2024, January 2025 and February 2025.
    Hero Karizma 210 Sales
    Is it discontinued?
We say this because Karizma XMR 250 was showcased in November 2024 and Karizma XMR 210 witnessed 0 sales since then in three consecutive months – December 2024, January 2025 and February 2025. One quick check at Hero MotoCorp’s website reveals that Karizma XMR 210 is still listed under the Premia section.
    Hero Karizma Combat Edition Teased
The company had teased Karizma XMR 210 Combat Edition in January 2025 which packed better equipment and more features than standard model. However, it never launched. Further fueling the question whether Hero has dropped the ball and will only concentrate on Karizma XMR 250, moving forward.
    Karizma XMR 250
If this motorcycle is not discontinued, Hero MotoCorp might soon consider launching an update to Karizma XMR 210 to make it more appealing to prospective buyers. Some of these updated may be USD telescopic front forks and the new TFT cluster that we recently experienced with Xpulse 210 at the media drive event organised by Hero MotoCorp. Also, the company needs to rapidly expand its Premia dealerships to offer a premium experience for prospective Karizma buyers.
    Hero Karizma XMR 250
    Legacy of Karizma
On August 29 2023, Indian motorcycle market witnessed the revival of the iconic Karizma brand. Karizma has played a major role in positioning Hero MotoCorp as a manufacturer of supersport machines which could blaze the racetrack on fire and do long distance touring in one package.
    New Karizma XMR 250
At the EICMA Show 2024, Hero MotoCorp revealed Karizma XMR 250, which will take Karizma brand to new heights uplocking major performance gains with around 30 bhp and 25 Nm. While the Karizma XMR 250 is not launched yet, it seems to have impacted the sales of Karizma XMR 210 in a negative way. That, or Hero MotoCorp might have discontinued Karizma XMR 210 to make way for the 250.

New Kinetic E-Luna Design Patented – Is That A Removable Battery?

New Kinetic E-Luna Design PatentedThe electric 2W segment in India is currently booming. Both commercial and private electric vehicles are seeing a surge in popularity and acceptance. With goals to ride this wave, we have Kinetic Green, which has just patented a new design for its upcoming E-Luna. This has an unconventional Luna design and could be packing removable batteries.
    New Kinetic E-Luna Design Patented
In February 2024, Kinetic Green launched the iconic Luna in an electric avatar. Called E-Luna, it was launched in India for a starting price of Rs 69,990 (Ex-sh) with a similar design language as the original ICE-powered Luna of the yesteryear, which used to be very popular back in its prime time.
    New Kinetic E-Luna Design Patented
Currently, there are multiple variants of E-Luna offered by Kinetic Green. These include X2, X3, X3 Go, X3 Plus, X3 Pro and X3 Prime. All of these variants are step-through electric scooters with a flat floorboard for practicality. Kinetic Electric did reveal that E-Luna was Battery-Swap ready, but this removable battery was placed under the rider’s seat.
Now, a new design patent from Kinetic Green has been leaked showing what could be a re-positioned removable battery pack mounted on its floorboard. This is an interesting approach as this new element seen in this design patent is a quadrilateral with a triangular approach. Considering that Kinetic is now “Kinetic Green”, it is less likely to be an ICE vehicle.
E-Luna Removable Battery Revealed At Launch
It might be a storage box of some sort, designed for specific B2B commercial applications, or it may be a removable battery pack that offers an extra range on top of what E-Luna packs in its spine. Re-positioning the removable battery on the spine could create a deep and sizeable storage under rider’s seat which would also be concealed form weather.
    What to expect?
Removable battery or not, this new element patented with Kinetic Green E-Luna is surely interesting to look at. Other elements like 16-inch wheels, 170 mm ground clearance, RSU telescopic front forks, twin-shock absorbers at the rear, drum brakes on both ends, round headlight inside a square housing and others are carried over.
    E-Luna Floorboard
Powertrains-wise, it might feature a 2 KWh fixed battery promising 110 km on a single charge along with a removable battery extending the range close to 200 km. The fixed battery takes 4 hours for a full charge and new Kinetic E-Luna might retain the same 50 km/h top speed. A launch time frame is not revealed yet, but it could happen soon. More
