Triumph Thruxton 400 Launch Date Revealed Via Official Teaser

Triumph Thruxton 400 teasedTriumph Motorcycles has officially confirmed the launch date of its much-anticipated Thruxton 400 cafe racer. Set to be unveiled on August 6, 2025, the announcement comes with a cleverly themed teaser image – a cappuccino cup with latte art resembling the iconic cafe racer’s front cowl and handlebar setup. Titled “Poise and Performance – Brewed to Perfection”, the teaser blends the cafe racer spirit with a touch of classic Triumph flair.
Launch-Ready Spy Shots Surfaced Earlier This Week
The launch teaser follows hot on the heels of a series of spy shots captured earlier this week, showing the Thruxton 400 completely undisguised and likely en route to a TVC shoot near Pune. The motorcycle looked production-ready, suggesting Triumph has completed final development and validation.
2025 Triumph Thruxton 400 Spied – Sohib Solomon
These images revealed signature styling elements including a half fairing with round LED headlamp, bar-end mirrors, a single-piece seat with rear cowl, and clip-on handlebars for that classic cafe racer silhouette. The design language clearly borrows cues from the larger Thruxton 1200, blended with underpinnings and features from Triumph’s existing 400cc platform, seen on the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X.
    Features and Expected Specs
The Thruxton 400 is expected to share the 398cc single-cylinder engine with the Speed 400, producing around 40 PS and 37.5 Nm. It will use a tubular steel frame, USD forks, and 17-inch alloys shod with Pirelli or locally sourced MRF tyres. Notable additions include a sporty clip-on setup, repositioned turn indicators, and a distinctive cafe-racer cowl.
    2025 Triumph Thruxton 400 Spied
Triumph is also offering modern features such as a semi-digital console, dual-channel ABS, and possibly multiple ride modes like its siblings. Based on the spy shots, a bold red paint scheme with white racing stripes may be one of the launch colours.
    Expected Price and Positioning
Considering Triumph’s aggressive pricing strategy with the Speed 400 (currently starting from Rs 1.99 lakh ex-showroom), the Thruxton 400 may arrive at a slightly premium price point, likely between Rs 2.30 lakh and Rs 2.50 lakh (ex-showroom). This would position it as a unique offering in the retro cafe racer segment with no direct rivals at this price and displacement level.
The Thruxton 400 aims to carry forward the legacy of Triumph’s Thruxton line into the accessible middleweight category. With a modern engine, nostalgic design, and accessible price tag, it’s set to appeal to both enthusiasts of classic British styling and newer riders looking for character with everyday usability. We’ll bring you all the updates from the launch on August 6 – stay tuned! More

BSA Bantam 350 Debuts Eyeing Classic 350 – Scrambler 650 Also Revealed

BSA Bantam 350 and Scrambler 650 DebutsIconic British motorcycling brand, BSA, has just unveiled two new motorcycles which it intends to launch sooner than later. One of these two is the much anticipated Scrambler 650, based on Gold Star 650 cruiser. The second one is Bantam 350, which will lock horns with Royal Enfield’s golden goose, the Classic 350. Let’s take a closer look.
    BSA Bantam 350 Debuts
More than two years ago, we covered BSA filing trademarks for new names like Thunderbolt, Lightning and Bantam. Speculations were that Bantam would borrow platform from Jawa Yezdi motorcycles and would emerge as a Royal Enfield Classic 350 rival. Speculations might have proven true as Bantam is paired with a 350 class engine.
    BSA Bantam 350 Debuts
BSA has just unveiled Bantam 350 alongside Scrambler 650 at Bike Shed, London, as per a recent post by MCN. Resurrection of Bantam nameplate is a significant step by BSA as it holds a massive brand recall in the UK. The new 2026 BSA Bantam 350 is based on similar ethos of original Bantam which is credited to bringing motorcycling to the masses post WW2.
Last recorded production of BSA Bantam was in 1971 and continues to evoke nostalgia among masses. With new Bantam 350, BSA is incorporating design ethos of original model with its minimalist body panels, round headlight with a grille, teardrop shape tank, wide handlebar, inverted bar-end mirrors, a single-piece seat, fork gaiters and a matte black finish for engine bay.
    BSA Bantam 350 Debuts
    What does it offer?
Notable elements include Bantam 350 branding on side body panel, a BSA logo with British Union Jack in the background on its fuel tank, dual-tone alloy wheels with tubeless tyres, single-sided exhaust, twin shock absorbers at the rear, RSU telescopic front forks, a large radiator which hints at a liquid-cooled engine and more.
It may be powered by the same 334cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled DOHC 4V/cyl Alpha 2 engine seen on recent Yezdi bikes. In 2026 BSA Bantam 350, this engine could develop around 30 PS of peak power and 30 Nm of peak torque, mated to a slipper clutch and a 6-speed gearbox. It is likely to be manufactured in India and has launch potential too.
    BSA Scrambler 650 Debuts
    Scrambler 650
Based on the Gold Star 650, BSA has carved out a Scrambler. BSA has showcased a concept of Scrambler 650 before and this new one seems to be a production version that will go on sale soon, potentially in India too. The unit showcased in London had a single-piece instrument cluster as opposed to Gold Star 650’s triple cluster.
Other notable elements include a new front beak, new RSU telescopic front forks with fork gaiters, dual-sport block pattern tyres, wider handlebar, bar-end mirrors, what looks like a handlebar bracepad, a silver bash plate and more. It may be powered by the same 652cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC 4V/cyl engine that cranks up 45.6 bhp and 55 Nm, mated to a 5-speed gearbox. This engine might be retuned to better suit BSA Scrambler 650’s character and expected scrambling roles.

Kinetic DX vs Rivals Compared – Vida VX2, Activa e, Rizta, iQube, Chetak

    Kinetic DX Electric Scooter
India’s family electric scooter segment just got a new entrant in the form of Kinetic DX, which was launched yesterday in New Delhi. The company aims to establish itself firmly in India and is eyeing for top three positions in terms of sales. But how does it fare against rival family electric scooters already on sale in India? Let’s compare Kinetic DX with immediate rivals to see where it falls on paper.
    Kinetic DX vs Rivals Compared
In the Indian electric family scooter market, Bajaj Chetak was the only one that invokes a sense of proper nostalgia. Kinetic DX joins this bandwagon as it harks on to its rich legacy and heritage. It will go head to head with other family format electric scooters like Bajaj Chetak, Honda Activa e, Ather Rizta, TVS iQube and the recently launched Vida VX2.
Kinetic DX vs Rivals – Dimensions
There’s a lot to like about Kinetic DX in the way they have approached this product in terms of design and engineering. It packs the lowest seat height in this comparo and a decent 165 mm ground clearance, which is slightly behind Activa e’s 171 mm. Wheelbase of Kinetic DX is 1,314 mm, which is the longest in this comparison.
Powering Kinetic DX is a 60V architecture and the single electric hub motor promises a peak power of 4.8 kW. While it is higher than Rizta, iQube and Chetak, Vida VX2 and Activa e offer higher 6 kW peak power. Despite that, Kinetic DX has a 90 km/h top speed, which is the highest in this family scooter format.
Kinetic DX vs Rivals – Specs
Sending juice to this motor is a 2.6 kWh battery fixed pack with Kinetic DX, which promises a 116 km range on a single charge. Which is still better than what Activa e promises, but rivals like iQube with its massive battery pack that goes till 5.3 kWh in capacity promise up to 212 km range. Only the Vida VX2 offers removable batteries, while Activa e offers swappable battery option binding you to its proprietary swapping ecosystem.
Kinetic DX uses more potent LFP battery tech, while iQube uses NMC batteries. Others do not disclose battery chemistry. All contestants offer Reverse Mode and up to 3 riding modes. Like iQube, Kinetic DX also packs a hub motor whereas others either pack a swingarm mounted motor or a mid mounted motor.
    Features & Equipment
Where features and equipment are concerned, all rivals offer LED lighting all-around, some kind of digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth and Smartphone app support with crucial features like navigation and more. Only iQube and Chetak offer touchscreen clusters. Also, all of them offer a front disc brake and rear drum brake option along with 12-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres.
Kinetic DX vs Rivals – Features
Kinetic DX offers the largest under-seat storage which stands at 37L, while Activa e is at the other end of the spectrum which offers virtually unusable boot. Where frunk is concerned, it is Ather Rizta that offers the largest that go up to 22L. Only the Chetak and Activa e offer a smart keyfob for keyless go, while Kinetic DX goes a step further with a password based keyless go system that reminds me of Transporter movies.
Taking a page out of Ola’s book, Kinetic DX packs a speaker which can play music and other paraphernalia. DX lacks a pillion backrest, but it brings unique attributes in the family EV format like an integrated helpline button in switchgear, one-touch pop-out footpegs and a concealed charger that is just brilliant. These are attributes that users will use on a daily basis. Only DX and iQube offer cruise control, while VX2 and Activa e lack hill hold assist features.
That leaves us with pricing, which Kinetic DX seems to have got right. Only the Vida VX2 and iQube are more affordable than the DX, where the base variant is concerned. With top-spec variants, DX undercuts everyone except for Vida VX2 and its introductory prices. Ather and Honda fall on the higher end of the price bracket. For the sake of this comparison, we have included optional AtherStack Pro plan with Ather and Tecpac with Chetak. More
