  • EV startup Bollinger has unveiled an all-electric commercial truck platform, the B2 Chassis Cab, which will be built on the same platform as Bollinger’s other forthcoming trucks.
  • The Class 3 B2 Chassis Cab will be powered by a 120.0-kWh battery and will came in various wheelbase lengths.
  • Bollinger said that the B2 Chassis Cab will become available to commercial outfitters in late 2021.

Bollinger, an EV startup based in Michigan, is expanding its rugged-looking vehicles with an all-electric Class 3 commercial truck platform, the B2 Chassis Cab. Built with a chassis which is intended to be customized for specific use, the classification puts it in line with other trucks such as box trucks and heavy-duty pickups.

The B2 Chassis Cab will be built on the same e-chassis on which the B1 and B2, the company’s forthcoming SUV and pickup, respectively, will ride on. It’s available in a two- or four-door setup and with various wheelbase lengths to house the 120.0-kWh battery. Similar to the other vehicles Bollinger has unveiled, the B2 Chassis Cab will have all-wheel drive and a payload of 5000 pounds. It’ll also have the unique pass-through from the cabin to the frunk to accommodate particularly long items that’s also seen in the other Bollinger trucks.

“Commercial fleets will be able to reduce their overall cost of operation while buying a truck designed, engineered, and built in the USA,” Bollinger CEO Robert Bollinger said in a press release, naming several potential users such as “municipalities, park services, emergency response vehicles, airports, construction, landscaping, electricians, plumbers, security, [and] non-tactical military.”

The truck will be equipped with independent front and rear suspension that will also be self-leveling. Bollinger says that the B2 Chassis Cab will be available to outfitters beginning in late 2021.
