Yamaha Sales, Exports Breakup April 2021 – FZ, RayZR, R15, MT15, Fascino

Image – The Sameer VlogsYamaha has registered MoM de-growth both in terms of domestic sales and exports in April 21
A total of 37,318 units were sold in domestic markets in April 21, down 19.30 percent as against 46,241 units sold in March 21. Exports on the other hand dipped 35.23 percent with shipments to the tune of 21,558 units in April 21, as against 33,284 units shipped in March 21.
As with every other automaker in India, the adverse impact of the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic affected sales badly, and Yamaha Motor India was no exception. Other two wheeler makers such as Hero, Bajaj, Suzuki TVS, and Royal Enfield were able to limit the impact of the pandemic by capitalizing on exports but that was not the case for Yamaha that noted de-growth both in terms of domestic sales and exports.
    Yamaha Domestic Sales April 21
Taking domestic sales into account, wherein each model in the company lineup posted de-growth, the company saw its FZ motorcycle in the lead. Sales for April 21 stood at 12,298 units and was the only model to record sales past the 10,000 unit mark. March sales had stood at 16,563 units relating to a MoM de-growth of 25.75 percent.
Yamaha is in the process of expanding its FZ range with a new FZ-X model. This neo retro styled model is positioned as an entry level retro motorcycle, with launch set for the coming months.
Yamaha Sales, Exports Breakup – April 2021
At No.3 was the Yamaha R15 with domestic sales at 6,022 units, down 13.82 percent over 6,988 units sold in March 21. Last month, Yamaha launched the R15 V3 with a new paint scheme for the Indian market and it is now presented in four colours of Metallic Red, Racing Blue, Thunder Grey and Dark Knight.
Lower down the order was the Yamaha MT15 at No.4 with sales of 5,692 units, down from 6,472 units sold in March 21 while it was closely followed by the Fascino, of which 5,612 units were sold in April 21, a MoM de-growth of 27.34 percent as against 7,724 units sold in March 21. Of the FZ25 bike, only 182 units were sold in domestic markets.
    Yamaha Exports April 21
Shipments to global markets also suffered in terms of MoM figures. Like in domestic markets, the Yamaha FZ and RayZR also found top spots on the export list though both suffered de-growth. FZ exports dipped 43.55 percent MoM to 7,376 units while RayZR exports fell 12.77 percent to 4,796 units.
Yamaha SZ and Saluto found more preference in global markets with the Saluto reporting significant growth of 603.85 percent to 1,830 units in April 21, a steep increase over 20 units shipped in March 21.
Yamaha Cruz, FZ-25, Saluto RX and R15 each suffered lower MoM exports while Yamaha MT15 and Fascino again posted positive export figures. MT15 exports increased from 240 units to 280 units MoM while Fascino saw a 48.15 percent increase to 120 units in April 21 as against 81 units exported in March 21.
Apart from making a global reveal for the YZF-R7, Yamaha has also revealed the 2022 Zuma 125 off-road scooter with feature and mechanical updates, but exclusively for global markets with launch in India not on the cards. More

2022 Yamaha Zuma2022 Yamaha Zuma 125 gets a range of visual as well as functional updates
A perfect fit for city streets and light off-roading, 2022 Yamaha Zuma 125 has been unveiled for US market. The scooter was originally launched in 2008 and was last updated in 2016. It is sold in certain Asian markets as well, where it is named Yamaha BW’s 125.
    2022 Yamaha Zuma 125 – what’s new
Talking about the design first, the scooter looks a lot more rugged as compared to the outgoing model. The body panels have grown a lot more brawn, which adds to the scooter’s dominating road presence. Another key update is the asymmetrical twin-pod headlight. It looks radical and enhances the scooter’s sporty profile. The headlight comes with adjustable beams that users can change as per their needs.
At the front, 2022 Yamaha Zuma 125 has dedicated space to mount a tall windscreen. This will come handy for folks who may often have to do longer journeys. The scooter is equipped with 12-inch wheels, shod with dual-purpose knobby tyres. It gets a big rack at the rear, which should be capable of handling decent amount of luggage.
The LCD digital instrument console displays a range of information such as fuel gauge, rpm, and speed. It also has full range of embedded indicator lights. Colour options for 2022 Yamaha Zuma 125 include Team Yamaha Blue and Matte Black. 2022 Yamaha Zuma 125 offers plenty of storage space under the seat. 2022 Yamaha Zuma
2022 Yamaha Zuma 125 engine and specs
Powering 2022 Yamaha Zuma 125 is a 125 cc, liquid cooled SOHC motor. It is mated to a V-belt automatic transmission. It is equipped with VVA (Variable Valve Actuation), which provides a range of benefits including optimal power delivery.
With the use of advanced tech and aluminium alloy components, the engine offers greater reliability and improved fuel efficiency. The rated fuel efficiency is 101 miles per gallon (MPG), which is approximately 43 kmpl.
Suspension system comprises telescopic front forks with 3.2 inches of travel. Dual rear shock absorbers with swingarm offer 3.1 inches of travel. Braking duties are performed by 245 mm disc at the front and 230 mm disc at the rear. The scooter does not get ABS, but is equipped with combined braking system.
Will India get Yamaha Zuma 125?
Products like Yamaha Zuma 125 are unlikely to make it here anytime soon. One reason is that high pricing can limit sales numbers. Moreover, the customer base for such products in India is fairly low. As the Indian market matures, it is possible that such products may be launched here at a later date. More

2022 Yamaha R7 Makes Global Debut – Official Specs Revealed

    2022 Yamaha R7
The new Yamaha R7 shares its heart and most of its underpinning with its naked sibling MT-07
Yamaha has officially unveiled its upcoming middleweight supersport tourer R7 which will be replacing the R6 from the Japanese bikemaker’s international lineup. The company shared a teaser of the faired motorcycle on its YouTube channel giving a sneak peek of the upcoming machine.
A set of leaked images further clarified details about the superbike. Now, the manufacturer has officially revealed the motorcycle in its production form along with its specs and other details. Serving as a replacement to the outgoing R6, the latter was discontinued last year after it failed to comply with stricter Euro-5 emission standards.
    2022 Yamaha R7
    Updated Styling
Starting with its design, Yamaha has retained the aggressive styling of R6 in the new R7 while adding a few subtle variations in order to distinguish itself from its predecessor. It gets a fully revised front end with a single-pod headlight instead of twin-pod LED units in R6. The LED headlight is positioned inside an air intake ram which also gives the front end of the bike a twin-beam design. The headlamp is also flanked by twin LED DRLs giving the motorcycle a menacing face.
The front windscreen is taller than its predecessor providing better protection from windblast. The side fairings have also been completely revised that feature massive scoops redirecting hot air away from the rider’s legs.
    [embedded content]
The muscular fuel tank features a signature grille pattern complemented by taut lines which enhance its aerodynamic qualities. The tail section is sharp and upright as a usual Yamaha R-series but looks more audacious than the previous iteration.
The faired supersport motorcycle will be offered in two colour schemes- Raven Black and Team Yamaha Blue. Body-coloured alloy rims on the latter add an extra bit of sporty appeal to the bike. Other notable highlights include a clip-on handlebar, rear-set footpegs, split seat setup and underbelly exhaust with short muffler.
    Mechanical Specs
The new R7 shares most of its mechanical bits with the MT-07 naked streetfighter. Hence, it will be powered by a 689cc parallel-twin engine which pumps out 72.4 bhp at 8,750rpm and 67 Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. This motor is mated to a six-speed gearbox.

The upcoming influx of middleweight superbikes will also feature the hotly anticipated Yamaha R7 which has been teased on the Japanese bikemaker’s official YouTube channel. Not only has the faired monster been teased in a marketing video, but images of a photoshoot featuring the upcoming R7 have also been leaked on the internet ahead of its global debut.
The middleweight faired sports bike will officially show its face on 18 May 2021 as indicated by the video teaser. The new R7 will serve as a replacement for the outgoing YZF R6 which was discontinued last year since it did not comply with stricter emission standards. Images of the upcoming R7 have been leaked online on social media.
    2022 Yamaha R7
    Styling Highlights
Apart from the date of its global debut, the teaser also reveals certain highlights of the bike’s design. The overall styling of the new R7 follows the design philosophy which has been prevalent in the R range of supersport motorcycles from the Japanese brand for ages now.
The images show a prototype in Yamaha’s signature blue paint scheme which lends the motorcycle a sporty appeal. Upfront, R7 looks starkly different from its predecessor.
    2022 Yamaha R7
While R6 came with R1-derived twin-pod LED headlamps, R7 will flaunt a completely redesigned fascia that features a single-pod LED headlight flanked by twin LED DRLs on both sides. The centre space in the front fairing occupied by the headlamp also flaunts an air scoop which gives it a twin-beam design at the front. Also, it appears to get a taller and wider windscreen than R6.
    2022 Yamaha R7

    Expected Specs
While the exact specifications are yet to be revealed, we expect R7 to be based on the MT-07 platform. Hence, it is likely to be powered by a 689cc, parallel-twin motor with a 270-degree crank which spits out 72.4 bhp at 8,750rpm and a peak torque of 67 Nm at 6,500rpm.

    Will India get Yamaha XSR125?
There’s considerable demand for sports-oriented 125cc motorcycles in India. Bikes like KTM 125 Duke have been a big hit with customers. However, in case of Yamaha, it is unlikely that XSR125 will be launched anytime soon in India.
As of now, Yamaha is working to launch FZ-X retro-themed motorcycle, which is based on FZ- S Fi. Yamaha has created multiple 150cc bestsellers in the Indian market and FZ-X launch will further strengthen its position in this segment. Yamaha would like to focus on its strengths instead of experimenting with the 125cc motorcycle segment in the Indian market. More

Yamaha XSR 125 Confirmed For Launch In Europe – Based On R125, MT125

Yamaha XSR 155 Image for reference
Yamaha XSR 125 will initially be on offer for European markets only
The XSR brand from Yamaha has earned quite a name in the South Asian markets in the small capacity segment of motorcycles. The smallest of them all, XSR 125 has just been conformed and will be headed for European markets later this year. A type approval document of the 125cc XSR has been leaked on the internet revealing this development and certain specifications.
Although any patent images of the same haven’t been revealed yet, in all probability it is likely to be inspired by XSR 155 in terms of design. XSR 155 is a very popular offering in several Asian markets and is likely to be based on R125 and MT125. Utilising the 125cc motor and underpinnings would not be difficult as both the models mentioned above are already on sale in Europe.
    Familiar Retro design
The document leaked specifies that dimensions of the neo-retro motorcycle will be similar to XSR 155 except for its height which will be 10mm taller than its larger sibling. This is probably because the suspension setup will be tuned for a firmer ride in Europe.
All other details including the design are expected to be nearly identical to XSR 155 which sports a neo scrambler styling. Some highlights include wide handlebars, circular headlamp and taillamp, a high tail section and a ripped single-piece seat.
    Yamaha XSR 155
    Features & Mechanical Specs
Some of the features such as a fully digital, blue-backlit, circular instrument display and an LED lighting setup from XSR 155 are likely to trickle down to its smaller sibling. Hardware configurations of the upcoming retro motorcycle are likely to mirror its more powerful counterpart. This includes a diamond frame suspended on upside-down forks at front and a mono-shock at rear.
The upcoming motorcycle will ride on 17-inch alloy wheels while braking duties will be carried out by a 292mm disc at front and 220mm disc at rear. This will be assisted by a dual-channel ABS as standard. As far as performance goes, it will be powered by the same 125cc single-cylinder motor from R125 and MT-125 which pushes out 15bhp and 11.5Nm of peak torque.
This unit is paired with a 5-speed constant mesh gearbox. For a small displacement motorcycle and beginner riders, these numbers are more than plenty.
    Yamaha FZ-X
The sad part is that this motorcycle is unlikely to be launched in India anytime soon. Instead, Yamaha will launch a retro-styled motorcycle in the form of FZ-X which is based on FZ- S Fi. Images of the upcoming motorcycle clicked during on-road trials have surfaced online on multiple occasions. It will be powered by a 149cc motor which produces 12.4 bhp at 7250rpm and 13.3 Nm of peak torque at 5500rpm. Launch of the retro-style bike is expected to take place in a couple of months. More

Yamaha E01 Electric Scooter Patent Images Leak – Launch In 2022

    Yamaha E01 Electric Scooter Concept
The patent images of Yamaha E01 were recently published via the Japanese patent office, however, they were filed back in late 2019
Yamaha first showcased the E01 Concept at the Tokyo Motor Show in Japan held in 2019. The electric scooter is slated to make its global debut next year and is intended to become a successor to the company’s 125cc scooters which run on fossil fuels. Now, patent images of the upcoming e-scooter from the Japanese bikemaker have leaked on the internet.
Earlier this year, Yamaha also registered a trademark for the name ‘E01’ indicating that the company is indeed looking to launch a production version of the same in the near future. The latest patent applications give us an idea of what the actual electric scooter might look like in its production guise.
    Design
The concept showcased back in 2019 revealed a basic outlook of the design while the recent patents show plenty of details that might feature in the final production-spec model. For starters, the model shown in the patents features bi-LED headlights which are mounted in recesses under the nose. The concept model though, came with smaller and deeper-set rectangular lights which may look too flimsy in real world.
At the centre of the front apron which looks like a single-piece headlight is actually an opening hatch for the e-scooter charging socket. Such a design is very prevalent in smaller electric cars.
Yamaha E01 Electric Scooter Production Spec Patent Leaks
This unit is surrounded by a two-part LED DRL which gives it a distinctive appearance and could also double up as turn indicators. At the rear, the section covered in fabric in the concept model has been replaced with a more conventional design comprising normal plastic panels and a removable seat.
The panels at the rear section cover the e-scooter’s storage compartment. With the main storage section accommodating the lithium-ion battery setup, there is hardly any space left for luggage. A slim LED strip at the rear section will be acting as a taillight.
Overall, E01 e-scooter features a typical maxi-style design with signature highlights such as front-heavy fairing, a tall windscreen, free-flowing design lines from front to rear and a dedicated footrest provision.
Yamaha E01 Electric Scooter Production Spec Patent Leaks
    More Details
Other highlights deduced from the patents include a single-frame seat with the stepped-up pillion and a digital instrument cluster. the e-scooter doesn’t show a removable battery cover therefore it is unlikely to be offered with battery swapping functionality.
Since E01 is slated to replace 125cc conventional IC engine-powered scooters in future, its power output is expected to hover around 11kW (15 bhp). This is also the maximum permissible power output for two-wheelers that can be ridden by amateur riders. More
