    Yamaha R15 Sales Sep 2021 – A New High
Production of the new Yamaha R15 had already started much before its launch. First undisguised spy shots appeared on the internet in Aug 2021. As per Sep 2021 sales data, R15 has become the best-selling motorcycle from Yamaha.
In Sep 2021, Yamaha R15 sales were at 11,792 units. This is a 151% increase when compared to sales in Sep 2020, when R15 registered less than 4,700 units in sales. The second best-seller from Yamaha motorcycles was the FZ, followed by MT15 and then the FZ25 in Sep 2021. Sales of Yamaha FZ have declined sharply in Sep 2021. This is most likely due to parts shortage.
In terms of MoM sales, R15 registered an almost 23% increase in sales. FZ registered a sales decline here as well. Yamaha Motorcycle sales have grown by 2.39% as compared to Aug 2021 sales. But the same have declined 31.65% when compared with Sep 2020. Take a look at the sales table below.

2021 Yamaha Force 155cc Scooter Debuts – Based On R15, Aerox

2021 Yamaha Force 2.0Yamaha Force 2.0 will not be launched in India since it is based on Aerox 155 which is already on sale here
Yamaha has launched the new Force 2.0 in Taiwan. It is based on Aerox 155 which was launched in India last month. In Taiwan it is launched at a price of TWD 99,000 which is roughly equivalent to Rs 2.66 lakh.
In India, Yamaha has launched Aerox 155 at a price of Rs 1.29 lakh (ex-showroom). While Force 2.0 is based on Aerox, it shares plenty of differences with the latter especially in terms of styling.
    2021 Yamaha Force – Maxi-style Design
Like Aerox, Force 2.0 sports a sharper design with an aggressive front face thanks to a sleeker twin headlamp setup and a heavily faired front panel. That said, Yamaha has continued with a halogen bulb for the headlamp. Side panels have also been redesigned and now flaunt a signature ‘A’-shaped element. It is offered with 4 colour options.
Taillights are straight and not angular, unlike its predecessor which looks clean and simple. The most prominent difference in styling between Force 2.0 and Aerox is the flat floorboard in the former while the latter gets a spine running through the centre of the floorboard. Other variations in Force 2.0 include a flat single-piece seat and new alloy wheel designs.
    2021 Yamaha Force 155cc Scooter
In terms of proportions, the wheelbase of the new Force has been reduced from 1405mm to 1340mm whereas the seat height has gone up from 805mm to 815mm. Overall dimensions stand at 1895 x 760 x 1120 mm (L x W x H). It rides on 13-inch alloy wheels instead of 14-inch units offered in Aerox. It is underpinned by a new chassis that is said to be 27 percent lighter. Kerb weight stands at 130 kgs.
    Mechanical Specs & Featuresgets
Powering Force 2.0 is the same 155cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder motor that is available in a wide range of motorcycles and scooters across the Yamaha lineup. In India, this motor powers the R15 V4, MT15 as well as the Aerox scooter. This motor pumps out 14.8 bhp at 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 14 Nm at 6,500rpm on board the new Force 155cc. Equipped with electronic fuel injection (EFI), it uses a traditional V-belt CVT to carry out transmission duties.
Yamaha has also made some tweaks to the hardware configurations of the scooter. Suspension setup now comprises a pair of preload-adjustable shock absorbers at rear while the front still gets telescopic forks. Braking duties are handled by 267mm front and 230mm rear disc brakes complemented by a dual-channel ABS. It delivers a mileage of 45 kmpl.

Other notable features on offer include a 5.1-inch LCD instrument cluster, traction control, a silent starter and an external fuel filler cap. 2021 Yamaha Force 155cc Scooter gets halogen headlamp and turn indicators. Tail light is LED. Unfortunately, it doesn’t come with Yamaha’s Y-connect platform with Bluetooth connectivity like Aerox 155. More

International-spec Yamaha MT15. Image for reference
Upon its launch, the new generation Yamaha MT15 could be priced at a premium of Rs 10,000 over the current model
Yamaha updated its entry-level supersport bike R15 earlier last month which has generally received positive reviews from all corners. The bike received plenty of updates on the skin and some crucial ones underneath as well. Now, the Japanese bikemaker is planning to carry forward these updates on the naked version of R15.
Yamaha could soon launch an updated MT15 which will carry a similar range of updates as seen in the recently launched R15 V4. Underneath their skin, both R15 and MT15 are essentially the same bikes with stark differences in their top hat and riding ergonomics.
    Updated Design Expected
In its current form, MT15 gets a transformer-style front look with air scoops, a sculpted fuel tank with extensions, a single-pod LED projector headlamp with twin LED DRLs at front, a wide handlebar and a petite tail section. There could be slight variations in terms of styling in the upcoming model but exact details have not yet surfaced.
MT15 is also available in a special MotoGP Monster Energy Edition which is the range-topping variant of the motorcycle. It features cosmetic enhancements which are inspired by Yamaha’s MotoGP motorcycle along with Monster Energy branding which is the principal sponsor of Team Blue at the premiere championship. The special edition model wears a black paint scheme along with Monster Energy branding on the fuel tank and logo on tank extensions.

    Yamaha MT15 R15 V4 Based – Hardware & Features
The major and more crucial updates will be underneath its skin which would involve an updated powertrain and hardware setup. The most notable inclusion will be upside-down front forks which will offer sportier credentials to the new MT-15.
The golden-coloured front forks will also add to the visual appeal of the motorcycle in addition to more confidence to riders. Rear suspension duties will be handled by a mono-shock. Anchorage will be taken care of by disc brakes at both ends complemented by dual-channel ABS as standard.
Yamaha is also likely to add a couple of features to the updated MT-15 such as a quick-shifter, traction control and a revised fully digital LCD instrument console compatible with Yamaha’s Y-Connect connectivity feature and Bluetooth.
Powering MT-15 will be the same engine as its fully clothed sibling R15 V4. The 155cc, single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox. The VVA motor kicks out 18.2 bhp and 14.1 Nm of peak torque. Yamaha is yet to confirm the launch timeline of updated MT15. It could be planned for launch later this year or sometime next year. More

2022 Yamaha RX 155 Powered By New R15 Engine – Render

2022 Yamaha RX 155 – RenderWith the trend of resurrecting legendary brands, Yamaha RX seems eligible for a second life
Yamaha RX series motorcycles were in production in India from 1985 to 2005. Most loved among them was RX100 that was produced from 1985 to 1996. The bike was hugely popular largely due to its unmatched speed, acceleration and agile handling. However, due to stricter emission norms, the bike was discontinued. It was followed by other RX motorcycles such as RXG, RX-Z and RX135. However, none of them could match the popularity of RX100.
    Yamaha RX 155 rendered
With legendary bikes like Jawa getting successfully re-launched, there could be scope for Yamaha RX as well. Enthusiasts would surely want to try their hands on an all-new Yamaha RX. Following up on these possibilities, automotive artist Pratyush Rout has come up with a 155cc version of Yamaha RX. While the design is inspired by RX models, the bike borrows its engine from Yamaha R15.
In this render, the bike gets an all-black colour theme. Most parts such as the engine, fenders, suspension, fuel tank, side panels, and spoke wheels have been blacked out. This ensures a dominating road presence, something that would be hard to miss on the streets.
RX 155 borrows most of the styling bits from original RX bikes. It gets features such as circular headlamps and turn indicators, twin-pod instrument console, and wide handlebar. Design of the fuel tank, seat, fenders and tail section is largely the same as that of original RX.
    2022 Yamaha RX 155
However, based on its updated powertrain, RX 155 gets a range of enhancements. These include wider front and rear tyres, fork gaiters and disc brakes. The basic suspension system remains unchanged – telescopic forks at front and dual rear suspension. Assuming that RX 155 reaches production stage, it is likely to be equipped with at least single-channel ABS. It is to note that Yamaha R15 is equipped with dual-channel ABS as standard.
    Yamaha RX 155 engine
RX 155 will borrow its engine from R15. As may be recalled, Yamaha recently launched the new R15 V4. Although the engine is the same 155cc unit as earlier, it comes with updates such as Quick Shifter and Traction Control System. Quick shifter allows clutch-free gear shifting whereas traction control reduces the risk of wheelspin.
The engine is capable of generating 18.4 ps of max power at 10,000 rpm and 14.2 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed constant mesh transmission.
    2022 Yamaha RX 155
The engine packs in other performance-oriented features such as assist and slipper clutch. This offers a range of benefits including reduced rider fatigue and avoidance of excessive engine braking. Another useful feature is variable valves actuation (VVA) that ensures ample torque delivery even at low RPM.
RX155 could also be equipped with Y-Connect connectivity platform. This can be used to access a range of features such as last parking location, fuel consumption tracker, malfunction notification and maintenance recommendations. More

Yamaha R15 V4, R15M First Batch Delivery Starts – Walkaround, Exhaust Sound

New Yamaha R15M, R15 V4 Delivery Starts. Image – MRD VlogsNew Yamaha R15 V4 will continue to rival the likes of KTM RC 125, Pulsar RS200 and TVS Apache RTR200 4V
One of the popular entry-level sports bikes in the country, Yamaha R15 has been launched in its new avatar. Yamaha has also launched R15M along with the regular R15 V4. Both bikes get a range of enhancements including visual as well as functional updates.
    New Yamaha R15 V4 Walkaround
New-gen Yamaha R15 V4 packs in several cosmetic enhancements. Overall styling has been inspired by new YZR-R7 that was unveiled earlier this year in May. R15 V4 has an updated front fascia with LED projector set-up. This replaces the twin-eye LED headlights in use with existing R15 V3. The headlamp is flanked by sharp LED DRLs, which ensure a dominating street presence for the bike.
Price of the new Yamaha R15 V4 starts from Rs 1.68 lakh for the Metallic Red colour and Rs 1.69 lakh for the Dark Knight. Racing Blue R15 V4 is priced at Rs 1.73 lakh while R15M in Silver costs Rs 1.78 lakh. There is also the R15M Monster Edition, priced at Rs 1.8 lakh. All prices are ex-sh.
In other updates, R15 V4 gets redesigned visor, sculpted fuel tank, and new fairing. Exhaust has also been updated with a stubbier unit that wears a metallic finish. At the rear, the bike gets sportier tail lamp. Take a look at the detailed walkaround video and exhaust note of new Yamaha R15 V4 and R15M in the video below by MRD Vlogs.

With new R15 V4, Yamaha has also fulfilled the long-pending demand of USD forks. As international-spec R15 V3 is equipped with USD forks, it was a bit of disappointment that the Indian version came with conventional telescopic forks.
Users can now expect improved ride dynamics and handling, especially at high speeds, when braking or negotiating uneven surfaces. Wrapped in golden shade, the USD forks also work to enhance the bike’s sporty profile.
Delivery of the new Yamaha R15 V4 as well as that of the R15M has started across India. One of the first owner, of the new R15 in India, is Farhan Ahmed, who also owns previous gen R15. Considering that India is the first country where the R15 V4 has been launched first, Farhan is likely the first owner of new R15 V4 in the world.

New Yamaha R15 V4 engine and specs
Powering new Yamaha R15 V4 is the same 155 cc, liquid cooled, SOHC motor as the current model. It is capable of generating 18.6 ps of max power at 10,000 rpm and 14.1 Nm of peak torque at 8,500 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed constant mesh transmission.
R15 V4 will continue using performance boosting tech such as variable valve actuation (VVA) and assist and slipper clutch. VVA comprises two intake valve cams that are used independently. One is for low to mid-range rpm whereas the other is for high rpm. These switch at 7,400 rpm mark, which ensures optimal torque availability across the rev range including at low rpm.
Assist and slipper clutch works to ensure smooth gearshifts during rapid deceleration. Another benefit is lighter clutch pull, which reduces rider fatigue. R15 V4 utilizes a deltabox frame with monocross suspension at rear. Braking duties are performed by 282 mm disc at the front and 220 mm disc at rear. Dual-channel ABS is offered as standard. It also gets traction control as well as quickshifter. More

New Yamaha Aerox 155 Vs Aprilia SXR 160 Scooter – Specs Comparison

    Yamaha Aerox 155
Yamaha Aerox is a lot closer to being a proper Maxi scooter than SXR 160, thanks to its engine output
Yamaha has launched its first Maxi-style scooter in India in the form of Aerox 155. The Maxi scooter space in India is pretty unexplored at the moment with the only notable inclusion being Aprilia SXR 160 which was launched last year. The Japanese brand homologated Aerox 155 earlier last month.
While it won’t specifically cater to the mass segment of scooter buyers, it will definitely create a buzz in the market for those seeking a fun-to-ride scooter. Hence, a comparison of Aerox 155 with its only rival SXR 160 is in order to check how each one stacks up against the other.
    Yamaha Aerox 155
    Design & Dimensions
Starting with design, both scooters get a Maxi styling with sharp features comprising a front-heavy faired body. It is to be noted that both aren’t full-fledged Maxi scooters as they only provide a visual appeal and only borrow the design aspect from the premium segment of scooters. Both scooters get a twin headlamp setup upfront in the apron with integrated turn indicators and position lights.
SXR 160 also gets a large visor which Aerox 155 misses out on. Further, Aerox 155 gets a single-piece stepped-up seat whereas the single-piece saddle of SXR 160 is very much flat throughout. Also, the Japanese scooter features separate floorboards for both feet of the rider whereas its Italian counterpart gets a flat floorboard. In terms of dimensions, Aerox is longer than SXR but shorter and slimmer than its nearest rival. It also gets a smaller fuel tank of 5.5-litre capacity.
New Yamaha Aerox 155 Vs Aprilia SXR 160
    Features And Specs
In terms of features, both scooters offer a wide range of niceties. Common features on offer include LED headlight and taillights and a USB charging port. Moreover, both scooters get a fully digital instrument console compatible with Bluetooth and Smartphone connectivity. However, Aerox offers a tad more gizmos such as keyless entry and engine start/stop system and a slightly greater under-seat storage at 25 litres.
Getting into hardware configurations, while Aerox is underpinned by an underbone chassis, SXR features a tubular chassis. Both scooters get telescopic forks upfront while rear suspension units comprise a mono-shock unit and twin shock absorbers in Aprilia and Yamaha. Braking duties on both scooters are carried out by a disc brake at front and drum brake at rear. Further, both scooters ride on 14-inch alloy wheels shod by tubeless tyres.
    Performance And Price
It is in this department that Yamaha clearly outclasses Aprilia. The 155cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled motor powering Aerox pumps out 14.75 bhp and 13.8 Nm of peak torque. In comparison, the larger 160cc single-cylinder air-cooled motor propelling SXR only generates 10.8 bhp and 11.6 Nm of peak torque. The Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) technology in Aerox further improves rideability and power delivery from the motor.
    Aprilia SXR 160 Scooter
Both Maxi-style scooters are closely priced to each other. While the Italian scooter is priced at Rs 1.25 lakh, its Japanese counterpart is being offered at a starting price of Rs 1.29 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom. More

Yamaha Aerox 155cc Maxi Scooter India Launch Price Rs 1.29 Lakh

Yamaha Aerox 155cc Scooter IndiaYamaha Aerox 155 is powered by the same 155cc VVA motor as R15 but delivers a slightly lower output
Yamaha has upped its game in the last few months by launching a range of new models in India. Recently, the Japanese manufacturer launched updated iterations of Fascino Fi 125 and Ray-ZR with mild-hybrid technology. The company has introduced the third scooter in its India portfolio in the form of Aerox 155.
Yamaha Aerox 155cc Maxi Scooter – Prices and Colours
It is the first Maxi-style scooter from the brand in the country which is an untapped space in India’s two-wheeler market. Aerox 155 has been launched at a starting price of Rs 1.29 lakh (ex-showroom), in two dual tone colours of blue / silver and white / black. Limited edition of Aerox Monster Energy MotoGP version is on sale for Rs 1.30 lakh, ex-sh. and currently has only one direct rival in the form of Aprilia SXR 160. The Maxi scooter was first showcased in India at the Auto Expo 2018.
The scooter later found its way to select Yamaha showrooms for display but was not able to achieve a healthy response then. But Yamaha has decided to offer something different to the premium segment of buyers who want a scooter with a unique design as well as class-leading features and performance. Aerox 155 has been on sale in a few Southeast Asian markets including Indonesia, Philippines and Thailand.
    Maxi Design
The latest iteration of Aerox made its international debut earlier this year which features design as well as feature updates. Starting with its design, the 2021 Aerox comes with a twin LED headlight setup consisting of LED DRLs and an updated LED tail lamp mounted on the front apron. Some signature Maxi styling cues include a front-heavy faired body, a raised floorboard and a stepped-up pillion seat.
    Yamaha Aerox 155cc Scooter India
In terms of proportions, Aerox measures 1980 mm in length, 700 mm in width, and 1150 mm in height. Wheelbase on offer is 1350mm and the fuel tank offers a capacity of 5.5 litres. The scooter weighs a nimble 125kg and has an accessible seat height of 790mm. One interesting highlight is the placement of the scooter’s fuel filler cap which is positioned on a central ridge on its floorboard.
    Features on offer
Speaking of features, Aerox 155cc scooter is equipped with a digital instrument console that is enabled with connectivity modules such as Bluetooth and Yamaha’s Y-Connect smartphone app. The latter allows users to connect their smartphones with the scooter and access a wide range of features such as last parking location, service schedules, malfunction notifications, mileage, etc.
Apart from connectivity, the Maxi scooter from Yamaha offers all-LED lighting, a traction control system and 25-litre storage which can be accessed using a remote locking button. Other feature highlights include engine start-stop function, hazard lights and keyless start.
    Yamaha Aerox 155cc Scooter India
    Mechanical Specs
Powering Aerox is a 155cc liquid-cooled, DOHC, single-cylinder engine with variable valve actuation (VVA) which also propels a host of other Yamaha two-wheelers such as R15 V4, MT-15 and XSR 155 to name a few. This motor dishes out 14.8 bhp at 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 14 Nm at 6,500 rpm in this scooter. Equipped with electronic fuel injection (EFI), it uses a traditional V-belt CVT to carry out transmission duties.
Hardware configurations comprise a pair of conventional telescopic forks in front and twin remote reservoir shock absorbers at rear. Anchorage is handled by a disc brake up front and a drum brake at rear clamped on 14-inch front and rear alloy wheels. Safety is provided by ABS. More
