    Yamaha Price Hike Jan 2022
The primary reason for the latest revision in prices has been a steep rise in cost of raw materials and safety regulation of footrest. The fourth-gen R15 V5 has witnessed a price hike of Rs 2,000 across all variants. Hence, prices of the new R15 will now start at Rs 1,72,800 (ex-showroom). No prices have been increased on the third-gen R15S model.

Yamaha XSR 155 Limited Edition Custom Built Sold Out In A Few Hours

    Yamaha XSR 155 Limited Edition
Yamaha Thailand has teamed up with Zeus Customs to create a neo-retro cafe racer version of XSR 155
Yamaha XSR 155 is already a very desirable motorcycle thanks to its neo-retro design and one heck of an engine underneath. However, a custom based on the same has taken its visual appeal to another level. First displayed at the recently concluded Thailand Motor Expo, the custom-built XSR 155 garnered a lot of attention.
The motorcycle has been built by Yamaha Thailand in association with Zeus Customs who has developed the custom kit which has transformed XSR 155 into a cool retro café racer. Only 100 units of this limited edition model went on sale and all of them were sold in a matter of hours.
XSR 155 Cafe Racer- Design Updates
The bike witnesses plenty of changes on its skin, one of the most prominent updates includes addition of a clip-on handlebar which is typical of a cafe racer. Other notable updates include retro side panels, a custom dual-tone seat with a ribbed pattern, chopped front and rear fenders and a slightly revised headlamp cluster. The motorcycle’s aesthetic appeals are further accentuated by custom body decals.
This custom XSR 155 has been wrapped around a matte grey paint job with the internals and running gear dipped in black paint which offers a sporty dual-tone theme. Front brake hose has been shortened to lower the handlebar height and accommodate a numbered series production plate on the upper triple clamp. The side-on upswept exhaust muffler also appears to be an aftermarket unit.
    Yamaha XSR 155 Limited Edition
Providing the custom XSR 155 a more prominent on-road appearance is a large blacked-out engine bash plate. Finally, the muscular fuel tank dons a Zeus Customs badge which lends the bike a distinct identity. Apart from the updated design and a few ergonomic changes, almost everything else has remained intact.
    Hardware, Powertrain Specs
Speaking of dynamics, the customised XSR 155 rolls on 17-inch front and rear alloy wheels which are suspended by conventional telescopic forks at front and a mono-shock at rear. Braking duties are carried out by single hydraulic discs at both front and rear aided by a single-channel ABS as standard.
Powering this modified XSR 155 is a familiar 155cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled VVT motor which also powers other models such as Yamaha R15 and MT-15. This motor kicks out 19bhp of power and 14.7 Nm of peak torque and is paired with a 5-speed gearbox via a slipper and assist clutch.
    Price
Yamaha Thailand has priced this custom XSR 155 cafe racer THB 91,500 (approx INR 2.05 lakh). XSR 155 is unlikely to reach Indian shores anytime soon. The closest replica Indian consumers have experienced is FZ-X which is a retro-style commuter based on the FZ range of motorcycles and launched earlier this year. More

2022 Yamaha Crosser 150cc Adventure Motorcycle Debuts

2022 Yamaha Crosser 150 Adv Motorcycle LaunchedInternationally, Yamaha Crosser 150 will serve as a perfect rival to the recently launched Honda CB150X
After Honda, it’s time for its Japanese counterpart Yamaha to set foot in the entry-level adventure motorcycle space. Yamaha has launched Crosser 150 ABS in Brazil which will serve as the brand’s entry-level offering in the ADV segment. Prices start at R$ 15,590 (approx. INR 2.09 lakh).
The motorcycle will be available in two variants- 150S and 150Z, the latter being priced at R$ 15,790 (approx. INR 2.12 lakh). It is offered with four colour options-Black Eclipse, Sports White, Competition Blue and Dakar Sand. Design of the Crosser 150 is in line with contemporary adventure bikes.
    2022 Yamaha Crosser 150 – Design
Crosser 150 features signature ADV highlights such as a tall stance and a rugged appearance with minimalistic body panels. The Z variant feels slightly more rugged thanks to a longer beak upfront and fork gaiters. However, both variants make use of a small headlamp and a tiny flyscreen, a slight departure from contemporary ADVs.
Other highlights include fuel tank extensions with air scoops, arrowhead-shaped mirrors, and a side-mounted high-slung exhaust. A tall handlebar, with a high saddle and ground clearance, are other notable mentions when it comes to the styling of Crosser 150. Crosser 150 also receives a luggage mounting rack at rear which enhances its touring credentials.
2022 Yamaha Crosser 150 Adv Motorcycle Launched
    Features & Dynamics
In terms of features, the bike is pretty basic with its semi-digital instrument console being the biggest highlight. Illumination of the motorcycle is taken care of by modest bulb-type lighting. Crosser 150 rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wire-spoke wheels which are shod with dual-purpose Metzeler Tourance tyres. These units are said to provide excellent grip while treading into off-road surfaces.
2022 Yamaha Crosser 150 Adv Motorcycle Launched
While the suspension setup features simple telescopic forks upfront and a mono-shock at rear, there is plenty of travel on offer for undulated surfaces at both ends. Braking is carried out by a single disc brake at each wheel aided by ABS to avoid skidding while stopping aggressively.
    Powertrain Specs
Powering Crosser 150 is a 149cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that kicks out 12.2 bhp of power and 12.74 Nm of peak torque. This unit is paired with a five-speed gearbox. The best thing about this motor is that it can run on multiple types of fuel such as petrol, ethanol or both, which improves fuel efficiency.
2022 Yamaha Crosser 150 Adv Motorcycle Launched
Considering its overall package, Crosser 150 could actually be a very good proposition in the Indian mass market if priced right. However, Yamaha isn’t likely to launch this entry-level ADV tourer to our shores anytime soon. But given the rise in popularity of adventure tourers in India in recent years, Yamaha would want to tap into this segment at some point in the future. More

Yamaha MT15 Based XSR 155cc Modified Into Custom Motorcycle

Yamaha MT15 Based XSR 155cc Custom. Image – Bike ExifYamaha XSR 155 is powered by the same 155cc liquid-cooled SOHC four-valve engine which propels YZF R15 and MT-15
It has been nine years since Yamaha launched the ‘Yard Built’ program which has set the benchmark for manufacturer-sponsored custom projects. Since then there have been more than fifty custom models built under this initiative. However, this program opened for Asia only after the launch of MT15 based XSR 155.
Hence, the sporty retro-style commuter forms an integral part of the Japanese bikemaker’s ‘Yard Built’ program, especially in Asia. This same program has given birth to a customised XSR 155 in Indonesia which gives the feel of a tiny tank. The bike has been built by an aftermarket workshop called Dues based out of Bali or bengkel in local language.
    Yamaha Yard Built 2021
When Yamaha handed out the XSR 155 to Dues, it laid down two stipulations to the crew at the workshop which were not to make any changes to the Delta frame and engine underneath. The rest can be tinkered as per their wish and they came up with this piece of machine. The challenge is that while the delta frame is great for handling, it isn’t so easy to modify.
The MT15 based XSR 155cc custom has been designed as a ‘go anywhere’ machine which reflects true everyday usage of a common man. As seen from the images, Deus has stripped a lot of components that came with the stock bike. These included fuel tank cover, battery, plastic side panels, bash plate and front and rear fenders. The shape of the swingarm was modified as well. A custom-built swingarm made from stainless steel was used instead.
Yamaha MT15 Based XSR 155cc Custom
    Mechanical Updates
The specialty of this custom XSR 155 lies in the fact that every component has been hand-built. The entire motorcycle has been forged using aluminium, stainless steel and even some plastic panels in the tail section. Also, the stock seat has been replaced by a custom cantilevered tan leather seat and the hand-made tail section.
A few mechanical updates have been made to update the dynamics of the motorcycle. Wheels have gone one size up to 18 inches with VND billet alloy hubs front and back with in-house Sprint XD alloy rims. The front suspension forks have been raised by 20mm with a little more oil to add stiffness. This enhances the bike’s sporty ride quality and feels more assured around corners. The anodized finish of the forks has been replaced with a polished surface while the rear mono-shock gets a softly sprung unit.
    Cosmetic Updates
Further, the new 18-inch wheels are now wrapped around by grippy Pirelli Scorpion Rally tyres to increase the ride height and also make the bike capable of a little soft roading. The stock circular digital instrument console has been relocated in front of the new tank which is designed to accommodate the factory fuel pump and lockable cap. The perforated side panels made from aluminium are the only components to come out of a CNC machine.
The perforated panels give a translucent appeal to the motorcycle revealing its internals. The rugged, mechanical feel of this motorcycle is highlighted by the paint, with shades of silver and grey on the hard parts and a Mitsubishi ‘Rally Red’ for the tank, fenders and headlight cowl. Deus has appropriated named it Aka-Tombo which is Japanese for ‘Red Dragonfly,’ – paying homage to the YA-1, first bike Yamaha made back in 1955.
