2023 Yamaha MT15 Old Vs New Walkaround – Top 5 Changes

As part of MY2023 upgrade, Yamaha is now offering LED turn indicators, dual-channel ABS, TCS, OBD II diagnostics, and new colours2023 Yamaha MT15 – Old vs New. Image – Burn Piston 2.0Yamaha, came up with a naked version of its flagship R15, named MT15. This had the same beating heart as its race-faired sibling, albeit in a more affordable package. It featured a robotic face, reminiscent of Micheal Bay’s Transformers movies and overall athletic charisma. It looked right, performed right and was priced below R15 with mostly the same mechanicals. In April 2022, Yamaha updated MT15 with USD front forks, an aluminium swingarm, Bluetooth connectivity and more for a price bump of Rs. 13K. When Yamaha MT-15 Version 2.0 was launched, it garnered a reputation for being pricey. It lacked certain features that owners would expect from a motorcycle priced at a premium. Some of those features are now added by Yamaha for MY2023. Let’s take a look at 5 key takeaways when compared to the outgoing model.Yamaha MT15 Old Vs NewWe have covered MY2023 MT-15 before. Since there is no official information divulged from Yamaha’s end, there are very few things known about this new model. We have compiled 5 key elements where MY2023 Yamaha MT-15 comes off as a better-equipped motorcycle. Hat tip to Burn Piston 2.0 for sharing their video with us.For starters, Yamaha is now offering dual-channel ABS. This is the most significant addition to MT15. Dual-channel ABS was speculated to make it on MT-15 with Version 2.0, but it wasn’t. The second most significant update to MY2023 MT15 is the addition of a traction control system (TCS). Yamaha has made TCS switchable too, which is handy if the system is ever too intrusive.[embedded content][embedded content]Both dual-channel ABS and TCS were on offer in R15 V4 since day one. Now, they are a part of its naked sibling MT15 too. Third addition to the 2023 model is the new OBD II monitoring and diagnostics. According to reports, diagnostics reports can be retrieved from Yamaha’s smartphone app as well. This means RDE compliance, meeting phase II of BS6 norms.2023 Yamaha MT15 – Old vs NewThe fourth addition is more of a feel-good addition, instead of a must-have. Weirdly, it is LED turn indicators. We say weirdly because it is a head-scratcher how Yamaha got away with offering halogen bulbs on its flagship products in India. Not just Yamaha, but many other bike makers follow this practice. Price-according features should be a no-brainer, right?New ColoursThis might seem trivial. However, it should have been included in the package since day one. Until now, Yamaha only offered LED turn indicators as a paid accessory. Heck, non-M variants of R15 V4 shockingly still don’t get LED blinkers in MY2023 models as well. Sticking with 2023 MT-15, we now get new colour combinations. A metallic Black shade with Fluorescent Red wheels was never offered before.2023 Yamaha MT15 – Old vs NewThere is still no word about turn-by-turn navigation added with MY2023 MT-15 and R15. This was the one feature that people craved since Bluetooth was added. Except for these five changes, Yamaha MT-15 has been kept identical to the outgoing model. This means the same robotic face, handsome design and the 155cc 4V VVA engine with 18.4 PS of power and 14.2 Nm of torque. Launch is on Feb 13th and a price hike will be associated too. More

2023 Yamaha R15 Gets TFT Display, LED Blinkers, New Colour

The single-cylinder 4V, liquid cooled 155cc engine with VVA making 18.4 PS and 14.2 Nm, is retained with 2023 Yamaha R152023 Yamaha R15Yamaha’s YZF-R range of motorcycles has a huge fan following globally. Yamaha neatly incorporates a single design language across the YZF-R lineup to make them look cohesive. This family DNA is especially a great draw with smaller capacity YZF-R range like R15, R125 and the likes. They come at a cost though. Despite being considerably pricier than a few similarly specced motorcycles, Yamaha has managed to attract a lot of buyers. The company strives to better this sub-quarter-liter lineup of its sporty machines. 2023 Yamaha R15 is no exception as there are now new feature additions that up the ante, and proportionately price too. Let’s take a look.2023 Yamaha R15Yamaha R15 is the company’s flagship product in India. It comes with a plethora of mechanical enhancements like variable valve actuation (VVA), liquid cooling, slipper clutch, quick shifter (only upshifts and not downshifts) and some more. Pricing for R15M goes till Rs. 1,93,400 (ex-sh).At this price point, buyers would want some features like LED turn indicators and a TFT screen. Both of these features were missing on R15. Now, 2023 Yamaha R15M V4 gets these features. However, these features are not standard. These feature additions are only for top-spec versions based on R15M. Even now, standard R15 V4 variants get halogen indicators and LCD instrument cluster like before.[embedded content][embedded content]Thanks to K2K Motovlogs, we have a walkaround video of the same. We know that Yamaha should have offered these features from day one, at least with M variants. These additions for R15 will be associated with a price hike. Expect 2023 Yamaha R15M to cost north of Rs. 2 lakh (ex-sh). Especially in top-spec R15M trim like Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition.2023 Yamaha R15 new TFT DisplayThere is improved switchgear to better control this new TFT screen with M models. This new switchgear helps navigate through the system better. This new display is likely to be around 5” in size and shows various parameters and comes with Bluetooth connectivity and a smartphone app as well. Details about turn-by-turn navigation are still mum, though. Yamaha has also launched 2023 R15 in a new matte black colour with gold accents and gold alloys.MT-15 Gets Dual-Channel ABSAlong with R15M, MT-15 gets the same LED blinkers. But Yamaha doesn’t offer a TFT display with MT-15 Ver 2.0. Sure, Yamaha has upgraded the MT-15 with dual-channel ABS. But if you want a TFT screen, you have to shell out more and go with R15 V4. As of now Yamaha MT-15 Ver 2.0 prices go till Rs. 1,66,400 (ex-sh) after a recent price hike. With these new upgrades and new editions, expect pricing to cross Rs. 1.7 lakh mark with top-spec Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition. It is yet to be seen if dual-channel ABS on MT-15 is standard or optional. Mechanically, both R15 V4 and MT-15 are identical to previous models. The same 155cc engine with 18.4 PS of power and 14.2 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox is standard. More

2023 Yamaha MT15 Dual ABS At Dealer – First Look Walkaround

Yamaha has been able to keep its portfolio refreshed by introducing cosmetic and functional updates at regular intervals2023 Yamaha MT15 Dual ABS2023 models of Yamaha’s popular bikes such as R15, MT-15 and FZ-X have started arriving at select dealerships. It indicates that these bikes will be launched soon.Visual updates are evident in the form of new colour options and other minor touch-ups. Functional updates include dual-channel ABS for FZ-X. 2023 models of R15, MT-15 and FZ-X will also be OBD-2 compliant. With the updates, these bikes are expected to be launched at a slightly higher pricing.2023 Yamaha MT15 WalkaroundExcluding OBD-2 compliance, the focus is primarily on cosmetic enhancements in case of R15 V4 and MT-15. 2023 Yamaha R15 gets a new matte black/gold colour theme. It’s a mix of black and light grey, with contrasting golden highlights. The bike has golden USD forks and golden coloured wheels. Existing colour options for R15 V4 include metallic red, dark knight and racing blue.Yamaha MT-15 gets a new colour theme of gloss black and red. Both wheels get the red shade, whereas the golden USD forks create an exciting contrast against the largely black colour scheme. Existing colour options for MT-15 include metallic black, ice fluo-vermillion, cyan storm, racing blue and Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition. K2K Motovlogs has shared a detailed first look walkaround of new 2023 MT15 dual ABS.[embedded content][embedded content]Yamaha FZ-X gets a new matte blue colour, which seems familiar to the one used on existing YZF-R15 V4. The blue shade has been used predominantly on the fuel tank and front fender. Much of the bike has a blacked-out look including the headlamp cowl, engine, exhaust and grab rail. The bike also gets golden coloured wheels. Existing colour options for FZ-X include matte copper, matte black and metallic blue.2023 Yamaha FZ-X also gets dual-channel ABS. It is possible that Yamaha may have two versions of FZ-X, going forward. One could be similar to the existing model, whereas the other could have an updated scrambler-like profile. The latter could get features such as new windscreen, high mounted front fender and tubular steel casing for the headlight. It is not certain if both variants of FZ-X will be getting dual-channel ABS.All three bikes are expected to be OBD-2 compliant. The deadline for the same is March 31, 2022. OBD-2 primarily enforces stricter emission norms via real-time monitoring of exhaust gases. On-board diagnostics systems can detect any variations from mandated emission norms. No performance tweaksMuch of the hardware will be the same for 2023 versions of R15, MT-15 and FZ-X. R15 and MT-15 share the same 155cc, liquid cooled, SOHC, 4-valve engine. It generates 18.4 PS of max power and 14.2 Nm of peak torque. It is mated to a 6-speed constant mesh transmission. Yamaha FZ-X is equipped with a 149cc, air cooled, SOHC, 2-valve engine that churns out 12.4 PS and 13.3 Nm. It is mated to a 5-speed transmission. More

2023 Yamaha R15, FZX, MT15 Launch Soon – First Photos Leak

The first units of 2023 Yamaha R15, MT 15 and FZ-X have arrived at select dealerships and a launch is likely to happen on Feb 132023 Yamaha R15, MT15, FZ-X Launch SoonYamaha banks on its premium 2W range like no other. Today, Yamaha is probably the only 2W manufacturer with significant volumes, without offering budget commuters or scooters. The company’s premium motorcycle range includes YZF-R15, MT-15 and FZ-X.Yamaha is keen on reviving some of its legacy brands like RX into India, and is actively considering ways to introduce an ADV within the 125-155cc segment as well. Ahead of all that, Yamaha is now making its premium motorcycle range updated for MY2023. In that regard, 2023 Yamaha R15, MT15 and FZ-X are getting new Editions. Let’s take a look.2023 Yamaha R15, MT15Recently in Indonesia, we saw Yamaha launching a new Aggressive Grey variant for R15. It was a stunning combo with black USD forks, Grey base paint and trickles of Neon on fairing. Alloys were completely Neon too. This is not the same Edition Yamaha is launching in India. Spy shots reveal golden USD forks like on every other R15.The base paint is still Grey, similar to Aggressive Grey launched in Indonesia with little splashes of Yellow. Instead of matching alloy wheel colour with this Yellow, Yamaha is offering a golden finish. Something similar is offered with the R15M World GP 60th Edition. There is a gloss black element on the front fairing above the headlight, similar to R15M Metallic Grey.2023 Yamaha R15 Arrives At DealerMY2023 new edition MT 15, however, gets a gloss black shade. It resembles the Metallic Black colour Yamaha offers. But the new edition gets Red alloys found on the Ice Fluo – Vermillion variant. It isn’t as flashy as the Cyan-painted wheels on the Cyan Storm variant, though. A combination of Metallic Black and Fluorescent Red wheels was not offered before by Yamaha.2023 Yamaha MT15 Arrives At DealerFZ-X is getting a new edition for MY2023 as well. This new model has also reached a few dealerships ahead of launch and has been papped alongside MY2023 R15 and MT 15. It gets a new Blue shade and doesn’t resemble Yamaha FZ-X’s Metallic Blue option. Instead, it resembles the Racing Blue shade offered with the MT 15 and R15.New FZ-X Gets Dual-Channel ABSApart from this new colour, new MY2023 FZ-X will also feature dual-channel ABS, something which was missing in outgoing model. Dual-channel ABS is likely to be offered as standard and is not exclusive to this new edition. That said, Yamaha might limit dual-channel ABS just for this new edition and pit it as top-spec trim for FZ-X.2023 Yamaha FZ-X Arrives At DealerMechanically, there won’t be any changes on R15 and MT-15. Only FZ-X will get an upgrade in braking hardware in the form of dual-channel ABS. Both R15 and MT 15 will continue to offer 18.4 PS of power and 14.2 Nm of torque from its 155cc liquid-cooled VVA engine, mated to a 6-speed transmission. FZ-X will continue to offer 12.4 PS of power and 13.3 Nm of torque with a 5-speed gearbox. More

Among Yamaha price hike for Jan 2023, lowest percentage hike is for R15 V4 Racing Blue at just 0.54%, highest for FZ 25 at 2.04%Image – MRD VlogsYamaha India currently lacks big bikes and budget commuters. Not that Yamaha India never had any. As of now, new R7 and MT-09 have been teased and are set to launch. Yamaha might bring in R3 and MT-07 as well, which isn’t officially teased or confirmed. Till then, Yamaha’s motorcycle portfolio starts from FZ and ends with R15.Scooter portfolio starts from Fascino 125 and ends with Aerox 155. Yamaha periodically hikes prices of its vehicles across the range. Last such price hike happened in October 2022. Yamaha India has hiked prices for its vehicles for Jan 2023 as well. There is an increase in prices across the range, sans FZ and FZ S. Let’s take a look at the updated prices.Yamaha Motorcycle Prices Jan 2023Among all of its motorcycles, Yamaha FZ 25 and FZS 25 gets the highest price hike. Both models prices have been hiked by Rs. 3,000 and entry-level FZ 25 now starts from 1,49,900 (ex-sh). Interestingly, the smallest of FZ family, FZ-FI and FZS-FI with 149cc engines gets no price hike. This is Yamaha’s highest-selling vehicle and is understood why it is exempt from this hike.FZ-X gets a hike of Rs. 1,500 with new prices starting from 1,34,400 (ex-sh). Stepping up the price ladder, we have Yamaha MT15. This model has different pricing for varied colours. However, the price increment across the range for MT15 is Rs. 1,000. Prices now start from 1,64,400 for Black shade and go till Rs. 1,66,400 for MotoGP Edition (prices ex-sh).Yamaha Motorcycle Prices Jan 2023R15S a.k.a. R15 V3, also gets a price hike of just Rs. 1,000. Being a generation old, new prices fall below R15 V4 at Rs. 1,62,900 (ex-sh). Speaking of R15 V4, all the non-M variants that miss out on a quick shifter and additional tech, get a price hike of just Rs. 1,000.But R15M V4 Metallic Grey gets a price hike of 2,500 and WGP 60th Edition and MotoGP Edition gets a price hike of 1,500. As a whole, R15 V4 prices now start from 1,79,900 for Metallic Red and go till 1,93,400 for MotoGP Edition (all prices ex-sh).Yamaha Scooter Prices Jan 2023Yamaha’s scooter portfolio gets a price hike across the board, unlike motorcycle portfolio where FZ is exempt. New Yamaha 150cc Classic Motorcycle Launch Price 13.4k Yuan (Rs 1.6 L)

Currently available only in China, Yamaha GT150 Fazer could be introduced in other markets at a later dateNew Yamaha 150cc ClassicIn the world of motorcycles, the classic retro look is making a resurgence. It is essentially a timeless design that appeals to folks across age groups. With that in mind, Yamaha has launched GT150 Fazer in China.Retail price starts at 13,390 yuan, which is approximately Rs 1.60 lakh. Yamaha GT150 Fazer borrows a significant percentage of its hardware and equipment from other 150cc bikes like FZ15, Fazer 150 and Crosser 150.Yamaha 150cc Classic MotorcycleYamaha GT150 Fazer has a graceful design, something that is pleasing to the eyes. The bike has friendly vibes and is available in colour options of white, dark grey, light grey and blue. Across all colour variants, much of the bike has a blacked-out lower section. It includes the fenders, alloy wheels, exhaust, engine and front and rear suspension. Some of the signature retro bits include round headlamp, rear view mirrors and turn signals. Other highlights include all-LED lights, 12V DC charging socket, fork gaiters, teardrop-shaped fuel tank, tan leather seat in quilted pattern and tracker style side panels. The bike has a round full digital instrument panel that displays a range of information.New Yamaha 150cc ClassicFor everyday commutes, Yamaha GT150 Fazer ticks all the right boxes. It has a slender profile, which will be useful in negotiating heavy traffic. Seat height is 800 mm, which should ensure easy handling and manoeuvrability. The bike has a long seat and seems adequate for two adults. However, a grab rail is missing. It may be offered as an accessory.Users can expect optimal comfort with centrally placed footpegs and pulled-back, raised handlebar. While the bike is primarily for city commutes, it seems capable of handling some mild off-roads as well. Features like handlebar brace and dual-purpose block pattern tyres will be useful in off-road environments.Yamaha GT150 Fazer performanceEngine used onboard Yamaha GT150 Fazer is a 149cc unit that has the same bore and stroke as that of FZ15, Fazer 150 and Crosser 150. The air cooled, 2 valve, SOHC motor generates 12.3 hp of max power at 7,500 rpm and 12.4 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm. It is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.New Yamaha 150cc ClassicSuspension duties onboard New Yamaha 150cc Classic are performed by telescopic front forks and dual rear suspension. The bike has 18-inch wheels at both ends, shod with 90/90 front and 100/80 rear tyres. Braking duties are performed by disc brakes at both ends. The bike has a 1,330 mm wheelbase and weighs 126 kg. It has a 12.5 litre fuel tank. With growing popularity of retro bikes in India, Yamaha GT150 Fazer seems like a suitable candidate to be introduced here. However, it is not certain if and when GT150 Fazer will be launched in India. Yamaha India offers retro-styled FZ-X, although it doesn’t look as elegant as GT150 Fazer. Yamaha already has the 150cc platform in India, so launching GT150 Fazer here shouldn’t be much of an issue. More

2023 Yamaha R15 V4 Updated With New Colour – Aggressive Grey

With no big bikes to offer Yamaha R15 V4 is the company’s flagship offering in India until R7 and MT-09 are launched2023 Yamaha R15 V4Yamaha operates in premium motorcycle and scooter segment in India. Yamaha seems to have distanced itself from offering budget commuter motorcycles and scooters in the country where Hero and Honda dominate in large volumes. FZ is Yamaha’s least expensive offering and R15 V4 is the most expensive.Speaking of, Yamaha R15 V4 gets a slight refresh in Indonesia. There are no mechanical changes or power bumps. That said, there is a new and tasty colour option. This new colour brings out an immense sporty appeal that might be a hot favorite among young audiences.2023 Yamaha R15 Gets New ColourFor starters, this new colour will be sold alongside existing ones and there haven’t been any omissions in Indonesia. This way, Yamaha has refreshed its sub-quarter-liter track missile for MY2023. This new colour scheme is called Aggressive Grey and plays with neon on top of a dark shade of grey. While every other colour scheme gets golden coloured front USD forks, they are finished in black on Aggressive Grey. The new colour dons interesting use of neon colour on front fairing, fuel tank, side fairing and alloy wheels. On the front fascia and fuel tanks, neon is used in the form of stripes while alloy wheels are completely painted in neon colour.2023 Yamaha R15 V4This looks very different from Metallic Red, Dark Knight, Racing Blue, Monster Energy MotoGP Edition, WGP 60th Edition and Metallic Grey that is currently offered with R15 V4 and R15M in India. The new colour comes off as energetic and youthful and is definitely an interesting addition in R15 V4’s lineup.Specs & FeaturesMechanically, Yamaha has kept MY2023 R15 V4 unchanged. This means that it still continues to be powered by the 155 cc LCV4 SOHC engine with VVA (Variable Valve Actuation) tech as found on outgoing model. This engine makes 18.4 PS and 14.2 Nm of torque. This engine is tech-laden as well.It gets VVA, liquid-cooling, a traction control system, a slipper clutch, and a quick shifter (only for clutchless upshifts and not downshifts) and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Aggressive Grey is not announced for India officially as of yet. In India, prices for Yamaha R15 V4 start from Rs. 1.8 lakh and goes till Rs. 1.93 lakh for R15M (prices ex-sh).With no real rivals in premium and tech-savvy faired sports machines in 150cc category, Yamaha R15 V4 enjoys a monopoly. In November 2022, Yamaha managed to sell 7,424 units of R15 in India and exported 1,036 R15s. The closest rival to Yamaha R15 V4 other than R15 V3 (a.k.a. R15S) is KTM RC 125. More
