This humble entry price point product had stood the test of time and enjoyed prominence as a brand top seller. However, that liberty now seems lost. XL sales fell to 35,848 units, down from 51,445 units. Volume decline is steepest for the month at 15,597-unit loss at 30.32 percent decline. MoM sales growth was flat at 35,785 units sold a month earlier.Ntorq sales decline was curbed at 8.08 percent at 1,494 units volume loss. Sales fell to just over 23k units, down from 24,555 units. MoM sales were up from 21,120 units at volume gain of 1,941 units at 9.19 percent growth.  Together, the top 3 two-wheelers accounted for 61 percent of total YoY domestic sales last month. TVS Apache sales decline was the steepest. Volumes almost halved at 48.30 percent decline. Sales fell to 16,406 units, down from 31,735 units. Volume loss stood at 15,329 units. Volume gain stood at 1,379 units at 16.36 percent growth. MoM sales are up from 8,640 units at 13.54 percent growth. Volume gain was at just over 1.1k units at 33 percent growth. iQube, the TVS’ only electric scooter offering at present witnessed growth with volume increasing ten-fold. Sales is up from 203 units to 2,238 units. MoM sales are up from 1,529 units at 46 percent growth. TVS RR310 sales stood at 404 units, up from 169 units at volume gain of 235 units. MoM sales fell 5.16 percent, down from 426 units.TVS Exports Breakup Feb 2022Exports growth in February 2022While domestic sales fell last month, exports improved. Up to 93,014 units from 87,516 units. Volume gain stood at 5,498 units at 6.28 percent growth. MoM exports grew 8.75 percent, up from 85,528 units at 7,486 units volume gain.  Star City 125 takes top spot at 35,525 units from 31,312 units. Volume gain stood at 4,213 units at 13.45 percent. Star City exports are up 31,770 units from 29,329 units. Volume gain stood at 2,441 units at 8.32 percent growth. Apache exports fell 31.09 percent at 10,296 units, down from 14,942 units. Volume loss stood at 4,646 units.TVS Sport export growth stood at 3.74 percent, up at 5,820 units from 5,610 units. Raider export is reported at 3,820 units. Ntorq exports fell by 40 percent, down to 2,608 units from 4,370 units. XL exports gained momentum at 1,638 units from 352 units. Victor export fell to 800 units, down from 1,440 units at 640 units volume loss. Jupiter, Radeon, RR310 and Wego export cumulatively stood at around 750 units. Volume loss stood at 17k units at about 6 percent decline. Mom sales growth is reported at 5.31 percent, up from 2,54,139 units at volume gain of 13,486 units.Of this, domestic two-wheeler sales is down at 1,73,198 units, down from 1,95,145 units in February 2021. Volume loss is pegged at just below 22k units at 11.25 percent decline. MoM growth stands at 3.22 percent, up from 1,67,795 units.TVS Sales Feb 2022 DeclineMotorcycle sales growth is reported at 4.56 percent, up at 1,43,523 units from 1,37,259 units a year earlier. Volume gain stood at 6,264 units. While motorcycle sales improved, it wasn’t enough to negate total 2W sales decline on account of a sharp fall in moped sales, and moderate decline in scooter sales. MoM growth is pegged at 4.49 percent, up from 1,37,360 units. Motorcycles on offer from TVS include the Apache range, Raider 125cc, Sport, Radeon, Star City.Semiconductors supply shortage has had an impact on production, and thereby sales. TVS is cautiously optimistic that semiconductors supply will improve in the coming months. MoM moped sales growth is reported at 3.56 percent, up from 36,199 units.TVS scooter sales fell to 86,616 units, down from 95,525 units in February 2021. Volume loss stood at 8,909 units at a 9.33 percent decline. MoM scooter sales growth stood at 7.49 percent, up from 80,580 units. Scooters on offer from TVS include Jupiter, Ntorq, Pep+, Zest and iQube electric. Total 2W domestic sales is reported at 1,73,198 units, down from 1,95,145 units. Exports on the other hand fell both on YoY and MoM basis. In domestic markets, sales dipped 18.28 percent YoY to 1,67,695 units in the past month, from 2,05,216 units sold in January 2021. MoM sales improved 14.26 percent over 1,46,763 units sold in December 2021.TVS Sales Breakup Jan 2022 – Jupiter, XL100 in leadIt was the TVS Jupiter that contributed most to sales, topping the charts at 43,476 units sold in January 2022, down 16.32 percent over 51,952 units sold in January 2021. MoM sales improved by 13.98 percent from 38,142 units sold in December 2021. TVS Jupiter currently commands a 25.93 percent share of total TVS domestic sales. It was the second best scooter sold in India last month, after Honda Activa.TVS XL 100 moped sales declined 39.35 percent YoY to 35,785 units, down from 59,007 units sold in January 2021. MoM sales improved by 7.16 percent from 33,395 units sold in December 2021.TVS also noted de-growth both in terms of the Apache and Ntorq in the past month, down 8.89 percent to 25,975 units and down 23.94 percent to 21,120 units respectively. This was a 4.92 percent increase over 10,843 units sold in December 2021. The 125cc commuter bike uses a 124.8cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, engine offering 11.2 hp power at 7,500rpm and 11.2Nm peak torque at 6,000rpm mated to a five-speed gearbox.YoY sales de-growth was also reported for the TVS Radeon (8,640 units), Sport (6,478 units), Star City (4,964 units) and Pep+ (4,622 units) and Zest (3,453 units). However, each of these models, except for the Sport, posted a MoM growth. TVS iQube sales increased 624.64 percent YoY to 1,579 units from 211 units sold in January 2021 while MoM sales were higher by 26.16 percent from 1,212 units sold in December 2021. TVS RR310 trailed the sales list with 426 units sold last month from 412 units sold in January 2021 and 339 units sold in December 2021.TVS Exports January 2022Exports of TVS Motor Co dipped 3.12 percent YoY to 85,528 units, down from 88,284 units shipped in January 2021. It was a MoM de-growth of 0.44 percent over 85,904 units sold in December 2021.TVS Exports Breakup Jan 2022It was Star City that topped the list with 31,366 units up 18.42 percent YoY over 26,488 units sold in January 2021 while MoM exports fell 2.80 percent from 32,271 units sold in December 2021. Share in the company lineup currently stands at 36.67 percent down from 37.57 percent held in December 2021.At No. 2 was the Star City 125 with 28,049 units sold last month, down 6.72 percent over 30,070 units sold in January 2021. MoM exports increased 4.59 percent from 26,819 units shipped in December 2021.TVS Apache saw a de-growth of 37.43 percent YoY to 10,132 units from 16,192 units exported in January 2021 while MoM shipments increased 9.50 percent from 9,253 units sold in December 2021. Even as exports of Ntroq increased 33.98 percent YoY to 6,104 units, that of Sport (4,956 units),Victor (800 units) and Wego (158 units) along with the XL (144 units) and Jupiter (118 units) dipped YoY. Exports on a MoM basis saw de-growth for each of these models except for the Jupiter that increased 8.26 percent over 109 units shipped in December 2021.In view of the increased demand for electric vehicles in the country, the company will introduce a portfolio of electric vehicles both in domestic and international markets.       2022 TVS Fiero 125 Trademark Accepted – Based On Raider 125cc?

      New TVS motorcycle spied testing – It it Fiero 125TVS Motor hasn’t yet confirmed the launch or specifications of Fiero but it is expected to be based on Raider 125The 125cc motorcycle segment has growing demand. This segment has the likes of Honda CB Shine, Hero Splendor, Glamour, Bajaj Pulsar and KTM. TVS entered the 125cc motorcycle segment when they launched Raider 125 a few months ago.With the Raider, TVS has managed to make a good impact with average monthly sales of about 10k units. Total sales in this segment are at about 1.6 lakh units in Dec 2021. Of this, it is the Honda CB Shine which has over 42% share, Hero Glamour has about 20%, Bajaj Pulsar at about 17%, Splendor at 13%, Raider at 7% and KTM under 1%.2022 TVS Fiero 125ccTVS would surely like to increase market share in this segment. They already have a solid engine delivering good performance and fuel efficiency. One way to increase market share, is to launch a new 125cc motorcycle. TVS has registered multiple trademarks for their upcoming motorcycles – ‘Fiero’ being one of them.In fact, it is the name Fiero 125 that has been trademarked by TVS Motor. The company had applied for a trademark and in Nov 2020 it cleared the formalities. Now as per latest update, the Fiero 125 trademark has been officially accepted and advertised from 17th Jan 2022.TVS Fiero 125 trademark accepted on 17th Jan 2022It is likely that the ‘Fiero’ name could be used for the company’s upcoming 125cc motorcycle based on Raider 125 but with a completely different top hat. However, nothing has been confirmed by the manufacturer as of yet.TVS Fiero DesignBased on the spy shot of a test mule, the upcoming 2022 TVS Fiero is expected to get a retro design. Some prominent highlights include a round headlamp, a single-piece seat with a ribbed pattern and circular rearview mirrors.The short rear fender appears to be a single unit gently sloping upwards which also gets a chunky single-piece grab rail. The side-on exhaust features a long aluminium-coated canister. There is a muscular fuel tank design with air scoops which seem only an aesthetic addition.New TVS Fiero 125 based on Raider?A tall handlebar and centre-set footpegs with a fairly accessible saddle should offer comfortable riding ergonomics. Side panels and internals such as engine-gearbox assembly, leg guard and main frame have been blacked out which would provide a nice and sporty dual-tone theme to the motorcycle.2022 TVS Fiero 125 SpecsComing to hardware, the bike could receive the same underpinnings as Raider 125 which includes conventional telescopic forks at front and mono-shock linked to the swingarm at rear. The golden-coloured front forks also add to the bike’s aesthetic appeal. Braking will be carried out by single disc brakes at both ends which should be aided by a combined braking system (CBS).Powering Fiero will be the same 124.8cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, three-valve engine which propels Raider 125. This motor kicks out 11.2 bhp at 7,500rpm and 11.2 Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm and is paired with a 5-speed gearbox. In its 2-valve head form, this motor churns out 15.31 bhp and a peak torque of 13.9 Nm. TVS Fiero 125 prices could be in a similar range as that of Raider and other 125cc rivals. More

      TVS Motor launched a number of new two wheelers in CY 2021. These included the all-new Jupiter 125, Raider 125 and updated Apache RTR 160 4V. The company ended the last month of the year with lower sales in domestic markets, down 17.04 percent to 1,46,763 units, down from 1,76,912 units sold in December 2020.

      Heading the domestic sales charts was the Jupiter with 38,142 units sold in December 2021, down 0.76 percent from 38,435 units sold in December 2020. XL sales dipped significantly by 44.27 percent to 33,395 units, from 59,923 units sold in December 2020.
      TVS Apache (23,533 units) and Ntorq (16,859 units) also noted lower sales on a YoY basis by 11.31 percent and 34.38 percent respectively. The new Raider added 10,843 units to company sales even as Sport (7,233 units) and Radeon (5,139 units) saw a 2.42 percent and 25.62 percent YoY de-growth.
      TVS Star City was among two other models in the company lineup to post a YoY growth. Star City sales were up 8.04 percent to 4,043 units from 3,742 units sold in December 2020.

      Even as Pep+ (3,695 units) and Zest (2,330 units) suffered a YoY de-growth, that of TVS iQube increased by 1989.66 percent from 58 units sold in December 2020 to 1,212 units sold last month. TVS Apache 310 sales also increased 92.61 percent to 339 units in December 2021.
      TVS Motor Company had also launched the new Apache RTR 165 RP (Race Performance) motorcycle in India in December 2021 at Rs 1.45 lakh. This was a limited edition model restricted to just 200 units and each of these have now been sold out, even before delivery commenced.

      TVS shipped a total of 85,904 two wheelers in the past month, up 7.30 percent over 80,060 units sold in December 2020. It was Star City that stood at the top of exports with a 25.56 percent YoY increase to 32,271 units, up from 25,702 units sold in December 2020.

      The company also noted added exports of the Apache which increased 1.75 percent to 26,819 units in December 2021 from 26,359 units shipped in December 2020. TVS Sport and Ntorq noted a marginal increase in exports on a YoY basis by 0.60 percent and 0.72 percent respectively while of the new Raider, 4,493 units were shipped last month.
      TVS Victor and XL100 sales dipped 41.94 percent to 800 units and 52.31 percent to 744 units respectively while there were 173 units of the RR310 exported in December 2021. Shipments of Wego and Jupiter also dipped 34.13 percent to 166 units and 53.42 percent to 109 units respectively while Radeon exports were down to 0 units even as 520 units were exported in December 2020.
