TVS Ronin Could Be Name Of Upcoming New Motorcycle

TVS will be launching a new motorcycle on July 6 although there is no clarity on the nature of the upcoming modelNew TVS Ronin Motorcycle – Launch on 6th July?TVS recently teased its upcoming offering in the Indian motorcycling space by releasing partial teaser images of the motorcycle. Most recent reports claim that this upcoming motorcycle is expected to be the very long-awaited Zepplin that was showcased as a pre-production concept a few years back. However, TVS might have something completely different planned for its fans. The Hosur-based bikemaker has been sending out invites to media outlets that don’t mention the bike’s name but flaunt a ‘T’ design on the card. The same ‘T’ was recently caught on cameras inside a circular headlamp encasing.Upcoming TVS Bike: Is it Ronin or Zepplin or Retron? If one remembers the concept model of Zepplin, it featured a unique hexagonal headlight. Unlike other contemporary cruisers, TVS hasn’t designed the Zepplin to be a retro-style motorcycle but a modern power cruiser with futuristic styling elements. The round headlight leaked previously indicates the launch of a quintessential retro-style motorcycle where it would suit better.Among the many trademarks filed by TVS in the recent past, ‘Retron’ gathered quite a bit of attention as it fits the bill for a retro-themed motorcycle. Indian audiences have been swooning for the modern retro segment of motorcycles for many years and it might not be a bad time for TVS to dive into this space. TVS has missed out on a proper retro-themed bike for many years.Upcoming TVS Motorcycle renderAnother name that has now popped, is Ronin. As per a report by Bikewale, the upcoming TVS could be Ronin 225. It will be a cruiser, which will be powered by an all new 223cc single cylinder engine delivering about 20 hp and 20 Nm. Transmission will be via a 5 speed gearbox.Expected HighlightsIn fact, last year a test mule of the supposedly Retron was spotted on roads that flaunted signature retro-style design with a round headlamp, teardrop-shaped fuel tank and circular rearview mirrors. Previous spy shots revealed critical details of the upcoming motorcycle like a circular instrument console with part analogue and part digital readouts.By the looks of it, TVS could be employing the 159.7cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine on the upcoming Retron which it uses in the Apache RTR 160 range. This motor is available in two configurations- a 2-valve setup and a 4-valve setup. In the former, this power plant pushes out 15.3 bhp and 13.9 Nm of peak torque while in the latter this power mill dishes out 17.39 bhp and a peak torque of 14.73 Nm.New TVS Motorcycle SpiedIn either case, this engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. In terms of features, it will offer a semi-digital instrument console, LED lighting, USB charging and more. Upon launch, it is expected to rival the likes of Yamaha FZ-X.All said, these are mere speculations as there is no concrete evidence regarding details of the upcoming motorcycle. We can only know for sure when TVS presents the new model in front of the entire world on 6 July 2023.Source More

New TVS Retron LED Headlight Leaks – Or Is It Zepplin R?

TVS has not revealed much about this upcoming vehicle to be revealed on July 6thTVS Retron MotorcycleTVS recently revealed a new teaser stating that it was going to launch a new vehicle on July 6th. The teaser had a ‘T’ insignia that looked like a DRL of a vehicle. The invite also had a hashtag saying ‘New Way Of Life’. This had us scratching our heads because TVS somehow has the capability of sneakily getting a product launched without getting papped at all. We have seen this with TVS’ Raider launch. We previously predicted that it could be a Zeppelin R that was recently trademarked or a Creon electric scooter or a lifestyle adventure-tourer based on the RR 310 platform. But with the LED headlight getting leaked, we have a clearer picture about TVS’ upcoming launch on July 6th.TVS Retron Retro-Themed BikeDo you know what is common between Royal Enfield motorcycles, Yezdi motorcycles, Jawa motorcycles, Yamaha FZ-X, Honda H’ness CB350, Kawasaki Z650RS and Street Twins from Triumph? They’re all retro-themed modern motorcycles and they have one design element that is quintessential and screams retro, a round headlight.Round headlight is that design element that has stood the test of time. It is one of the most timeless design elements and will stay that way for centuries to come. TVS’ new headlight is also round and the way it is shaped and sized, makes us easily discard the possibility of it being on a scooter. We just don’t see it happening. It is, no doubt, a fitting element on a retro-themed motorcycle by TVS.TVS Retron MotorcycleTVS had trademarked the name Retron, likely for the launch of a retro-themed motorcycle. TVS has also trademarked the name Zepplin R. We have seen India’s thirst for retro-themed motorcycles and a cruiser bike like Zeppelin R is a hard sell in India. The hardships of a cruiser bike are visible as we recently saw Suzuki discontinue its Intruder 150 cruiser motorcycle in India.Considering the T shaped LED DRL, we think it makes more sense to be on a Retron. Additionally, in new TVS vehicles, there is this new design trend, where you get to see the shape of one of the letters from the name, inside the LED DRL. Happened with NTORQ, and more recently with Raider. Retron as the letter T, which is the shape of the LED DRL in a new leaked photo and the launch invite. Interestingly, sometime last year, a test mule of a TVS Retron was spied.New Way Of LifeTVS also has a hashtag saying ‘New Way Of Life’ and this could mean a lot of things for Retron. For one, it might get an adventure-tourer avatar like Hero XPulse 200, Royal Enfield Himalayan 411 and Yezdi Adventure or a scrambler avatar like Yezdi Scrambler, Royal Enfield Scram 411, or even the smaller FZ-X.New TVS Retron Motorcycle SpiedWe have seen the rise in popularity of adventure tourers and scramblers in India and a lot of Indian motorcycle manufacturers have jumped on this bandwagon. We can easily see a manufacturer like TVS in a segment like this as it never created a product catering to adventure-tourers or scramblers before.TVS currently has a lot of platform choices for basing the Retron on. But the most probable options are the 200 cc 4V engine found on Apache RTR 200 4V and its flagship 312 cc engine doing duties in Apache RR 310. If the upcoming adventure-tourer or scrambler version of Retron is based on the former, it will compete with the likes of Hero XPulse 200 4V and if based on the latter, it takes the fight to the big dogs like Yezdi and Royal Enfield bikes. Either way, July 6th will be one hot event from TVS.Source More

New TVS Launch On 6th July – Ntorq Electric, Zepplin Cruiser Or Apache ADV

TVS has a bunch of new scooters and motorcycles on its table and any of them could be the launch productNew TVS Zepplin R Cruiser – Production spec renderDoes July 6th ring any bell? It would, for some TVS fans as that is the date when the Hosur based two wheeler major launched the XP variant of Ntorq last year. TVS is once again getting ready to launch a new product on 6th July this year.Launch event teaser image has the letter T and hashtag New Way Of Life mentioned. What does T stand for? And what does the hashtag with ‘New Way Of Life’ mean? Let’s take a look at some possible rumours for this TVS launch event on 6th July.New Ntorq Variant or Ntorq Electric? If you ask us, we’d say that the T looks very close to the T-shaped design element found on the headlights of the company’s NTorq 125 XP and XT scooters. It is possible that it is yet another variant of NTorq 125 launching on the same date as its XP variant. But ‘New Way Of Life’, is it indicating an electric Ntorq? If TVS NTorq electric is the case, it could get the same electrical hardware from iQube, but this time on a sporty-looking scooter. But as seen with the surprise launch of Raider 125, TVS is very good at quietly developing two wheelers and bringing them to the launch stages without any leaks.TVS launch event on 6th July 2022TVS Creon Electric ScooterAlso showcased at 2018 Auto Expo, Creon was an electric scooter concept that had incredible wind blast protection with a sleek and futuristic tail section. It was a hybrid between a conventional scooter and a maxi-styled scooter. When launched, it could compete with electric scooters from Ola, Simple Energy, Chetak, Ather Energy and the rest. The T-shaped symbol TVS teased, can be the face of a scooter and maybe even an electric Creon.TVS Retron MotorcycleThis is another trademark that was registered by TVS Motors in India. Retron was supposed to be a retro styled motorcycle from TVS. There were test mules caught testing on the road too. But it never saw the light of day after that. Retron was likely to be based on Apache RTR’s platform.TVS Zepplin R CruiserWe have seen the name Zepplin R getting trademarked recently. The Zeppelin concept was first revealed back at the 2018 Auto Expo. It is a cruiser motorcycle with a sporty appeal with advanced and hi-tech features like a mild-hybrid powertrain. TVS might launch this based on the 312 cc platform found on Apache RR 310 or TVS might also give any other smaller capacity engine from its lineup too.New TVS Zepplin R Cruiser RenderStreet or Adventure-Tourer Version of Apache RR 310Apache RR 310 has one of the best single-cylinder sporty motorcycles on sale in India. It is co-developed with BMW and is shared by both companies. BMW has G 310 R street bike and G 310 GS adventure tourer based on that platform and is also launching G 310 RR fully faired sports version too. Whereas TVS only has one fully faired sports bike based on that platform. TVS is expected to launch a naked or an adventure-tourer bike version. An adventure-tourer is ‘New Way Of Life’, isn’t it? TVS Radeon To Get New Digital Speedo, Bluetooth – Splendor XTEC Rival

Updated TVS Radeon is expected to stay mechanically similar to the model it will replaceImage – Biker Prakash ChoudharyTVS Radeon might not be on sale for decades like Hero Splendor, but it sure is a worthy competitor. Radeon is arguably TVS’ best commuter. It definitely is a cut above the rest of the company’s commuter lineup like Star City and the likes. But Hero MotoCorp recently launched the Xtec edition of Splendor Plus and it brings a lot of segment-first features. Some of those features also add value quotient to the bike like a fully digital instrument console, phone connectivity via Bluetooth, Xtec connectivity suite, LED DRL and many more. These feature updates make Hero Splendor Plus even more value for money as it only costs Rs. 1200 more than the top variant of the motorcycle. But TVS can’t just let Splendor Plus eat all the cake. To stay relevant, TVS has to tackle Hero in some way.TVS Radeon 2022 IncomingFor starters, TVS ain’t no slouch when it comes to loading their products with features. If we take a look at the company’s products like NTorq, Apache RR 310, Apache RTR 160 4V and the recently launched Raider 125, we can see how superior these bike’s features are to their respective competition.TVS Raider 125When we first heard that TVS was updating the Radeon, the first thing that came to our mind was the Raider 125. Because that motorcycle is closest to Radeon and it packs a lot of features. We can expect a lot of Raider 125’s features to trickle down and make it on the more budget-friendly commuter sibling.Radeon Vs Splendor PlusMost probable features Radeon could get from Raider 125 would be its fully digital instrument cluster, Bluetooth connectivity with call/SMS and even turn-by-turn navigation. It might even feature the Intelligo stop/start system too. Maybe even an LED DRL and an LED headlight too. If Radeon gets Raider 125’s LCD instrument cluster along with TVS Xconnect app, it would be vastly superior to the Xtec system of Splendor Plus as it has more information to offer. In keeping with the competition, we can expect TVS to equip Radeon with real-time fuel efficiency, side stand indicator, service reminder, tank range and low-fuel indicator. Right now, Radeon gets a USB phone charger as an option. With the update, we can expect it to be a standard fitment like on Splendor Plus Xtec.Hero Splendor XtecTVS has equipped the Radeon with a 109.7 cc engine making 8.08 bhp @7350 RPM and 8.7 Nm @4500 RPM. Whereas Hero Splendor Plus comes with a 97.2 cc engine making 7.91 bhp @8000 RPM and 8.05 Nm @6000 RPM. Both motorcycles are capable of delivering 60+ kmpl of fuel efficiency under proper riding conditions.Launch & CompetitionEven though Radeon has a bigger engine and makes more power and torque, it weighs 4 kg more than Splendor Plus’ 112 kg kerb weight. But TVS strikes back with a front disc brake option which is a glaring omission on Splendor Plus even as an option. 2022 Radeon new variant might be launched around the festive season. We expect a slight price bump with the updated Radeon. But even with the price hike, it will be a worthy competition to the Splendor Plus.Source More
