The launch price of 2024 TVS Jupiter is Rs. 73,700 (Ex-sh) and there are multiple variants to choose from. Let’s take a look.
    2024 TVS Jupiter – What’s new?
The competition in India’s scooter market just reached a new stage with TVS making a bolder move against the segment leader, Honda Activa. Currently at No 2 position, TVS Jupiter has been a stalwart in India’s scooter segment with a significant impact on many Indian households. Come August 2024, there is a new generation of TVS Jupiter with a significant step into modernity.
    New TVS Jupiter
With the new 2024 TVS Jupiter, the company has sweetened the deal further, for Indian buyers. New generation model gets a new design, while still sticking to the classic family scooter silhouette. There is an air of modernity and sophistication with Jupiter, which was not seen with TVS family scooters.
    2024 TVS Jupiter Colours
TVS is offering multiple variants with 2024 Jupiter. Depending on the variants, TVS is offering 6 attractive colours – Meteor Red Gloss, Titanium Grey Matte, Lunar White Gloss, Starlight Blue Gloss, Galactic Copper Matte and Dawn Blue Matte. Among these colours, Dawn Blue Matte is the launch colour and TVS is pushing it with the 2024 Jupiter.
    New TVS Jupiter
The main attraction is the fascia where we can see sleeker headlights, this time around. There is a stylish, yet minimal front apron with a dash of gloss black plastics. TVS is offering sophisticated LED DRLs with seamless LED turn indicators. Even at the sides, there is a sense of modernity complemented by striking creases and definitions.
    New TVS Jupiter Variants
Similar seamless LED setup can be seen with the tail lights too. TVS is offering a long seat and top variants of 2024 TVS Jupiter get dual-tone stitching too. Also specific to top variants are the LED DRLs and LED turn indicators along with alloy wheels, front disc brake setup and a fully digital instrument cluster.
    New TVS Jupiter
    Practicality and Performance
TVS is promising a practical and versatile offering with 2024 Jupiter. In this regard, TVS is offering a decently large flat floorboard that houses the fuel tank, a forward-set fuel filler for convenience, a small pocket below a USB charger, a hook to hang stuff and other attributes. Because the fuel tank is positioned in the floorboard, there is massive under-seat storage with enough space for two half-face helmets.
    New TVS Jupiter
The instrumentation is fully digital and even comes with Bluetooth connectivity along with turn-by-turn navigation. TVS has added a hazard light too and it also has an emergency braking alert where it flashes the blinkers on panic braking. Turn indicators are not exactly self-canceling in real-time, but they turn off after a certain period. This will be handy.
New TVS Jupiter – Fuel tank lid
2024 TVS Jupiter 110 is based on a new platform powered by a new Gen engine (New J110). It is a 113.3 cc unit when compared to preceding Jupiter 110’s 109.7cc unit. It is based on the same block as Jupiter 125, bored to displace 113.3 cc. TVS is offering micro-hybrid tech with this engine with electric assist. Peak power can be rounded off to 8 bhp and it has 9.2 Nm without assist and 9.8 Nm with assist.
    New TVS Jupiter
    iGO assist
Peak power is now achieved at 6,500 RPM, 1,000 RPM lower than predecessor and peak torque is achieved at 5,000 RPM, 500 RPM lower than predecessor. iGO assist technology packs an intelligent start/stop technology and an integrated starter generator. TVS is claiming quicker stand-start acceleration and pass-by acceleration along with superior torque and best-in-class fuel efficiency.
    New TVS Jupiter
This new Jupiter replaces the old version, which has now been discontinued. 2024 TVS Jupiter is a direct rival to Honda Activa and packs a lot of new equipment along with a new platform and a new engine. Will it help TVS get closer to Honda in terms of scooter sales? Only time will tell. More

TVS Jupiter CNG Testing Starts – Codename U740 Launch Within 3 to 12 Months

Image for illustration onlyKnown for its R&D prowess, TVS could introduce various segment-first features with its CNG scooterA few days back, Bajaj launched the world’s first CNG motorcycle. Now, reports indicate that TVS is working on a similar project. With possibilities of a festive season launch, TVS Jupiter CNG will be the world’s first CNG scooter.TVS Jupiter CNG scooter – What to expect?Reports indicate that TVS has been working on multiple alternate fuel options for its two-wheelers. One of these is a CNG powertrain that is already in a ready-to-use format. It just needs to be integrated with the Jupiter scooter. The project is internally codenamed U740 and the development of the 125cc CNG scooter is already underway.TVS Jupiter. Image for illustrationTVS Jupiter CNG scooter – launch dateAlthough the CNG powertrain is reported to be ready, the integration with Jupiter 125 may take some time. The upcoming festive season can be a good opportunity to introduce the world’s first CNG scooter. But considering that new components and safety features have to be rigorously tested, the launch may take a bit longer. It can stretch to the end of 2024 or the first quarter of 2025. However, to get the first mover advantage, launch of TVS Jupiter CNG bike may not be delayed beyond the first half of 2025.Modest production goalsTVS has plans to sell around 1,000 units of its CNG scooter per month. The company’s focus is on providing a cleaner alternative to users and also to reduce its carbon footprint. While evaluating alternative fuel options, TVS will continue to focus on ICE and EV segments. Later this year, TVS has plans to launch an entirely new electric vehicle. A new ICE vehicle is also scheduled for launch this year. An electric 3-wheeler will be introduced as well.It remains to be seen if TVS will offer a dual-fuel CNG + Petrol option or go with CNG alone. While the dual-fuel option will be more useful, a CNG-only variant can reduce the ownership cost. A dual-fuel setup requires additional components, something that increases the cost of the scooter. Talking about the price, TVS Jupiter CNG scooter could start at under Rs 1 lakh. The petrol-powered Jupiter 125 is currently available at a starting price of Rs 79,000.Other brands could also introduce CNG two-wheelersIt is to note that the government has been encouraging two-wheeler brands to introduce CNG options for consumers. It won’t be surprising that other players in the commuter segment such as Hero MotoCorp and Honda also announce similar plans soon. CNG two-wheelers can significantly reduce the fuel cost burden on the masses. It will also help reduce the country’s energy import bills. The government has launched new policies that will help increase domestic production of CNG. As compared to crude oil reserves, India has larger reserves of natural gas. With extraction of natural gas from newly discovered reserves, India can reduce its dependence on CNG imports.Source More

TVS Jupiter Price Hike Dec 2021 – Prices Increased By Rs 600

TVS Jupiter Price Hike Dec 2021While there’s no official statement, latest round of price increase for TVS Jupiter is likely due to rising input costs
TVS Jupiter is among the bestselling scooters in the country and the top selling product in the company’s portfolio. It primarily competes with Honda Activa 6G. Jupiter prices have been increased multiple times this year including in January, April, and August. In the latest round of price hike, all variants of Jupiter 110 have become costlier by around Rs 600.
TVS Jupiter 110 new prices December 2021
Base variant of Jupiter 110 is the one that comes with sheet metal wheel. It now costs Rs 66,273. Next is standard variant, which is now available at Rs 69,298. Moving up, prices of ZX (drum brake) and ZX (disc brake) have been increased to Rs 72,773 and Rs 76,573, respectively. Top-spec Classic variant is available at Rs 76,543.
Jupiter 110 recent price hike doesn’t come as a surprise, as most two-wheeler manufacturers have increased prices across the range multiple times this year. In most cases, such price hikes were attributed to rising input costs.
As may be recalled, global supply chain network has been severally impacted due to Covid-19 pandemic. As demand picked up again, there was significant shortage of auto components. This resulted in increased input costs for manufacturers.
Jupiter 125 prices have not been changed
Another reason for rising input costs is the transition to stricter fuel emission norms. This is being deployed at several locations across the globe. There’s increased demand for catalytic converters, a key component used to reduce emissions to mandated standards such as BS6 / Euro 5.
TVS Jupiter 2021 Dec – No updates
No changes have been introduced for Jupiter 110 with the latest round of price hike. With its simple, elegant design, the scooter is a perfect fit for everyday commutes and errands. Some key features include LED headlamp, classy front apron, sturdy metal body, large comfy seat, and thick grab rail. A total of eleven colour options are on offer, which vary based on the variant.
The scooter is especially designed for optimal comfort and convenience. It has a large flat floorboard, which can be used to carry a wide variety of cargo such as groceries, bags, luggage items, cartons, etc.
The scooter also offers decent amount of storage space under the seat. This space is more secure as it can be locked with the key. There’s storage space at front as well along with mobile charging port. Other key features include all-in-one lock, trendy speedometer, foldable rear-view mirrors, dual bag hooks, external fuel filling and an easy-to-use centre stand.
TVS Jupiter 110 is powered by a 109.7 cc motor that generates 7.77 hp of max power at 7,500 rpm and 8.8 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm. It is mated to a CVT automatic gearbox. The scooter has telescopic front suspension and 3-step adjustable coil spring with hydraulic damper at rear. In terms of safety, the scooter packs in features such as large alloy wheels, parking brake and pass-by switch. More
