Mahindra XUV700 Electric SUV Prototype With 54 kWh Battery Pack

Mahindra XUV700 Render By zephyr_designzEven though Mahindra has readied an electric prototype of XUV700, it is not expected to undergo production anytime soon
Earlier this year, Mahindra laid out a comprehensive roadmap for its passenger vehicle segment which featured a number of electric vehicles (EVs). Given the race towards electric mobility, Mahindra’s future EVs hold great significance for the auto market in India and the company might actively start its emission-free innings in a year or two.
    Mahindra XUV700 Electric SUV
Mahindra has developed a battery-powered prototype of the recently launched XUV700. The homegrown automaker has already finished developing an electric prototype of the SUV, however, it is not roadworthy yet.
Mahindra XUV700 Electric SUV Prototype features a 54kWh battery pack. The electric powertrain is expected to be equipped on board the XUV700 as and when there is decent demand and charging infrastructure available across India.
This means there is still a lot of time before we can actually see an electric XUV700 going into production. Meanwhile, Mahindra is reportedly developing XUV900 which is essentially a 4-door Coupe SUV based on XUV700.
    Mahindra XUV700 render
    XUV700 Other Details
The IC engine-powered XUV700 will get two engine options- a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel unit and 2.0-litre mStallion turbo petrol mill. Both units will be paired with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
Higher variants will also offer the option of an all-wheel-drive setup otherwise power will be sent to the front wheels. Prices of XUV700 will start at Rs 11.99 lakh and it is expected to go on sale in a few weeks.
    Mahindra’s Other EV Projects
Mahindra is working on a range of battery-powered vehicles, the first of which is expected to launch in 2023. This will most probably be the eclectic version of XUV300 which will be called eXUV300. A pre-production concept prototype of the same was revealed last year at the Auto Expo. However, multiple delays mainly due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic meant that it is yet to undergo series production.
    Mahindra XUV700 render
The electric SUV is expected to feature a 40 kWh battery which will return an output of 130 bhp and a range of 300 kms in a single charge. Previous teaser images suggest that it is slightly longer despite sharing the same MESMA 350 platform, developed by Mahindra Electric completely in-house. ‘MESMA’ stands for ‘Mahindra Electric Scalable and Modular Architecture’.
Initially, the carmaker was planning on re-entering the EV space in India with eKUV100 which is a battery-powered derivative of KUV100 micro UV. Recently, it also made a brief appearance on the official website of Mahindra Electric. However, its launch too has been hit by various speed breakers throughout its course of development.

Royal Enfield Classic 350cc Launch Price Rs 1.84 L To Rs 2.15 L

New Royal Enfield Classic 350While it retains much of its earlier styling, new Classic 350 packs in a range of functional improvements
Royal Enfield has launched the all-new Classic 350 at a starting price of Rs 1.84 lakh for the Redditch Series. Classic 350 Halcyon range is priced from Rs 1.93 lakh. 2021 Royal Enfield Classic 350 Signals is priced from Rs 2.04 lakh. New Classic Dark Edition is priced from Rs 2.11 lakh. Top of the line Chrome Classic 350 is priced from Rs 2.15 lakh. All prices are ex-sh.
Interested folks can place their booking at any of the authorized dealerships. Already the top selling product in its category, new Classic 350 will be a greater challenge for rivals like Jawa, Honda H’ness CB350 and Benelli Imperiale 400.
New Royal Enfield Classic 350 Prices. Chrome variant price has been printed wrongly in the image. It is 2.15, and not 2.51.
New-gen Classic 350 design and features
Even in its current form, Classic 350 is loved by enthusiasts for its classy, old-school look and feel. As retro theme is one of the key USPs of the bike, Royal Enfield has played it safe by not fiddling with styling aspects. Classic 350 is the company’s bread and butter, making it all the more important to not take risky bets on it. Experiments with design could always be conducted on other new products that the company has plans to launch in the coming years.
New Classic 350 continues with its round halogen headlamp, teardrop-shaped fuel tank, circular turn indicators and rear view mirrors, ergonomically placed wide handlebars, spoke wheels, bottle-tube exhaust muffler and round tail lamp. The updated bike is available in 11 colour options. A total of five trims are on offer, Redditch, Halcyon, Signals, Dark and top-spec Chrome trim.
New Royal Enfield Classic 350 – Tripper navigation is only on Chrome variants via RE app. It will be offered as option to other variants from a later date.
In other updates, the bike gets a revised semi-digital instrument cluster. New Classic 350 will also be getting Tripper navigation, which was introduced first with Meteor 350. However, the units currently being sent to dealerships do not have the Tripper system. This is apparently due to global shortage of semiconductors. It is expected that Tripper system will be made available for new Classic 350 as soon as supply situation improves.
New-gen Classic 350 engine and specs
Updated Classic 350 will be using the new 350cc, air-oil cooled motor that currently does duty on Meteor 350. This next-gen 350cc motor will be used for all new / next-gen 350cc Royal Enfield motorcycles that are planned to be launched in coming months. It is capable of generating max power of 20.2 bhp and max torque of 27 Nm. It is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
As compared to the current 350cc engine, power output has increased by 1.1 bhp whereas torque has reduced by 1 Nm. These changes are unlikely to impact user experience in real world ride conditions. However, the engine does offer tangible benefits in terms of responsiveness and reduced vibrations. Also, it will continue to delight users with a thumpy aural experience.
    New Royal Enfield Classic 350
Another significant change for new Classic 350 is the new twin downtube spine frame. Referred to as ‘J platform’, it was introduced with Meteor 350. This is much better than the current single downtube frame that utilizes the engine as stressed member. The new platform improves ride dynamics and helps lower vibrations.
New Classic 350 utilizes larger 300mm disc at the front and 270mm disc at the rear. Front and rear tyres are wider as well. Users have the option to choose from spoke and alloy wheels. They can choose single or dual-channel ABS and single-seat or dual-seat configuration. More

Engine heat dissipation has been improved, delivering better riding comfort.
    2022 KTM RC 390 Specs – 2
The engine coupled with a 6-speed gearbox with a bi-directional quick-shifter and a slipper clutch. Upon its launch, KTM RC 390 will go head-on against other sports tourers such as TVS Apache RR 310, Kawasaki Ninja 400 and the upcoming Benelli 302R. More

New Yamaha R15M Arrives In Showroom – Blue And Silver Colours

Yamaha R15M. Image – RevNitroExpect the upcoming Yamaha R15M to cost a premium of Rs 5,000-10,000 over the standard YZF R15 V3.0
It recently came to light that Yamaha will introduce a new top-spec trim of its entry-level sports bike YZF R15 in India. Also, a type approval document revealed a few key details about the upcoming Yamaha R15M.
Not just the naming convention but the overall styling also seems to be inspired by the flagship Yamaha R1M. Earlier leaked images indicate that the upcoming iteration is expected to feature more premium components in comparison to the standard model.
Slated to be christened R15M, this new variant has started arriving at authorized dealer showrooms in India. RevNitro has managed to get exclusive photos of the new Yamaha R15M in two colour options of Yamaha Blue and Silver.
    Updated Design
Yamaha has been testing various prototypes in recent months of whom one of them is expected to be the new R15M. Going by recent images, the upcoming motorcycle dons similar faired clothing as its regular sibling but receives a few subtle yet notable styling variations. For instance, R15 gets a single projector LED headlamp instead of dual-beam headlights in the standard R15 upfront.
    Yamaha R15M
The single projector headlight is flanked by sleek LED DRLs on both sides. Other design updates include use of different body panels. R15M gets the same tail section as the base trim, however, the former seems to receive larger air ducts.
    Yamaha R15M
LED taillamp unit also appears to be redesigned. Additionally, it features a new front fairing and a larger windscreen. Overall, the front face is reminiscent of the larger R7. It will also get Bluetooth enabled features for phone calls and navigation.
The exhaust muffler appears to be stubbier than the one in R15 and gets a metallic finish. Due to the revised exhaust setup, footpegs for the pillion also seem to be repositioned. Previous images have revealed that it will also wear a special livery inspired by MotoGP Edition with Monster Energy branding flashed across the front apron.
    Yamaha R15M
    Mechanical Updates
It is not just glitter but also functionality that has been improved. The most critical update is the use of USD forks at front which improves the bike’s handling quite a few notches. The golden-coloured forks also enhance the bike’s sporty aesthetics. Also accentuating the motorcycle’s sporty appeal will be the blacked-out alloy rims. However, R15M remains dimensionally identical to the regular model.
The type approval documents further revealed that R15 will be powered by the same 155cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine with VVA technology and paired with a six-speed gearbox. Surprisingly, this motor on R15M churns out close to 18 bhp (13.6 kW) of power which is a tad less than what is on offer with R15 V3 (13.7 kW). It will be interesting to see if there are any changes to its torque output.
