    Upcoming Jawa Cruiser Motorcycle Side View Caught In New Spy Shots

    Classic Legends is aggressively working on expanding its lineup across various brands. The company will be introducing multiple new models under new brands like Yezdi and BSA in the near future. Meanwhile, the Mahindra-owned company is also developing new bikes under the pre-existing Jawa brand.
    Rekindled in late 2018, Classic Legends currently retails models such as Jawa Standard, Forty-Two and Perak under the Jawa brand. The bikemaker will soon launch a cruiser motorcycle under the Czech-origin brand which has been spotted testing on roads recently on a few occasions.
    Upcoming Jawa Cruiser Motorcycle – Design
    The latest spy shots show the test bike under complete camouflage which mimics retro-inspired styling. This is testified by highlights such as a round headlamp, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, spoke-styled alloy wheels, a compact windscreen and fork gaiters.
    It also flaunts a wide rear fender and a comfortable saddle. In fact, the pillion seat seems roomier than Standard and Forty-Two. The latest spy shots are credit to automotive enthusiast Sourabh. The test motorcycle was spied near Pune in Maharashtra.
    New Jawa Cruiser Spied
    The upcoming Jawa cruiser looks similar in size to Perak and might share the same underpinnings as the single-seater bobber. Most of the key components and running gear like engine casing, leg guard, frame, dual-pipe exhaust and spoke-styled alloy wheels have been blacked out which should lend a sporty appeal with a dual-tone theme.
    Based on variants and colour schemes, these components could be offered in chrome. From the images, we get to see typical cruiser-style ergonomics with a wide and tall handlebar and slightly forward set footpegs that should offer a comfortable riding posture suited for long-distance cruising. The thick padding of foam under the seat should further enhance riding pleasure.
    Exp Engine, Specs
    The Jawa cruiser could borrow its powertrain from Perak. The 334cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, DOHC engine pumps out 30 bhp and 32.74 Nm of peak torque. This motor is linked with a 6-speed gearbox. Suspension duties will be handled by conventional telescopic forks at front and twin shock absorbers at rear. Anchorage will be taken care of by single disc brakes at both ends aided by a dual-channel ABS.

    Coming to features, the new Jawa cruiser would get an inverted analogue speedometer with a digital odometer as seen in current Jawa models. Other features such as an LED headlamp with LED DRLs should also be on offer. It might not be offered with high-tech features.
    Upon its launch, the new Jawa cruiser will directly compete against the likes of Royal Enfield Meteor 350. It is possible that this motorcycle could be positioned over Perak as a flagship model in the Jawa lineup. Exp price could be in the Rs 2 lakh range, ex-sh. More

    BSA Motorcycles Unveils Their First New Motorcycle – Royal Enfield 650 Rival

    A few days ago, BSA Motorcycles had officially announced their return via social media. The same was also retweeted by Anand Mahindra, helping stir up enthusiasm among BSA fans across the world. Now, their first motorcycle has been officially unveiled.
    Birmingham Small Arms or BSA has officially mark its revival, with the unveiling of their first new gen motorcycle under the ownership of Classic Legends. The new BSA motorcycle was showcased at an exclusive event in Birmingham UK. Images are credit to BSA Motorcycles Facebook page.
    BSA Goldstar 650
    This new BSA motorcycle is likely to be called as Goldstar 650. It will be on public display at the upcoming Motorcycle Live show in Birmingham, UK being held from 4th-12th December 2021. BSA Goldstar 650 is likely to be powered by a single cylinder 650cc engine and will rival the likes of Royal Enfield 650 Twins in the UK and other markets hopefully.
    It may be recalled that BSA Motorcycles became defunct in 1970s but with Classic Legends, a Mahindra subsidiary, in-charge of the BSA project since 2016, the brand gets revived with more focus on international markets. Classic Legends acquired BSA for approximately Rs. 28 crores.
    New BSA Motorcycle Debuts
    With this announcement made, Classic Legends has lost no time in readying their new motorcycle. Test bikes have been spied on test in Pune, India. These bikes could also be produced in India at the company’s plant in Pithampur with exports to commence from early next year.
    BSA Goldstar 650 – More details
    Classic Legends has set up a technical and design center in Banbury, Oxfordshire followed by assembly of new motorcycles at the BSA facility in Midlands. This new BSA motorcycle will be positioned in the premium bike segment. It will boast of a classic design with the character of old BSA bikes but with modern underpinnings. It is set to go on sale in the UK first, but could also make its way to India.
    The new 650cc will continue to exude a retro theme. It receives a rounded headlamp with integrated DRLs, LED tail lamp, tear drop shaped fuel tank and wide set handlebars. It will also get broad fenders at the front and rear. It will sport spoked wheels wrapped with Pirelli tyres. Extensive use of chrome is seen across its body, from headlamp to fuel tank extending to its exhaust pipe and engine casing. An elongated seat and an upright riding position will show off its retro theme.
    New BSA Motorcycle Debuts
    Engine specs on the new BSA Goldstar are likely to include a 650cc motor making 47 hp power and 40 Nm torque. The engine will be liquid cooled to comply with future emission standards. It will receive disc brakes at the front and rear along with dual channel ABS as standard.
    In other news, BSA Motorcycle Company has received a grant of 4.6 million GBP (Rs 45.20 crore) from the UK Government to develop zero emission motorcycles. These are being developed at the company’s R&D center in the Midlands, UK with production set to commence soon. More

    Honda CB300R BS6, CB350 Anniversary Edition Launch On 4th Dec – IBW 2021

    Last year, post the implementation of BS6 emission norms in India, Honda had discontinued the CB300R from their company lineup. Though there were rumours that the motorcycle was all set to be relaunched in BS6 avatar, it never materialized. Many customers continued their wait with bated breath.

    After months of waiting, finally there is good news for CB300R fans. The motorcycle is all set to be launched in India on 4th Dec at the India Bike Week 2021. The event will take place in Aamby Valley near Lonavala in Maharashtra. Along with the CB300R, Honda will also launch special edition of the CB350, which has recently completed 1st year of sales in the country.
    Honda could use an updated version of the earlier 286cc liquid cooled, single cylinder engine. In its BS4 format, the engine was capable of generating 30 bhp of max power at 8,000 rpm and 27.4 Nm of max torque at 6,500 rpm.
    It is mated to a 6-speed transmission. Power and torque output of BS6 engine could be around the same range. Honda CB300R BS6 will come with disk brakes at both ends. Dual-channel ABS will be offered as standard.
    India Bike Week 2021 Official Schedule Day 1
    Honda CB300R in India
    As may be recalled, Honda CB300R was sold out in just a few months of its launch in 2019. In its BS4 format, the bike was imported as a CKD (Completely Knocked Down) product. Only a limited number of units were available for sale. It was offered at a starting price of Rs 2.41 lakh and sold via Honda’s Wing World outlets.
    Some reports had indicated that Honda could begin producing CB300R locally. But the bike was removed from the company’s website, as it was not updated to comply with BS6 emission norms. From that time, there’s no official word from Honda about CB300R.
    Yadvinder had said that Honda will begin local production of several of its existing motorcycles that are listed under premium category. This included one product under 500cc. At that time, the only product that matched the criteria was CB300R. Today, Honda has the CB350 and the CB350RS motorcycles which are locally manufactured. Not only that, these are also exported to other countries, including Japan.

    Honda CB300R BS6 – Dealer dispatch
    Dealer dispatches of CB300R BS6 have already started, as per SIAM sales data. Over the last few months, Honda has dispatched a few units to their dealers across India. Though the motorcycles have not been spied yet. But that has been the case with Honda motorcycles. Honda is one of the few manufacturers who’s products are hardly spotted ahead of launch or debut.
    Earlier also, development of CB350 was kept tightly under wraps till the launch date. It was quite like a covert mission. Honda could be applying the same strategy for CB300R BS6 and the CB350 Anniversary Edition. Even now, the announcement about the launch has come from IBW organizers, and not Honda India.
    CB300R launch may be a pleasant surprise for fans. It may also be a strategy to catch rivals off guard. Considering that CB300R BS6 is locally produced, Honda could now offer the bike at a competitive price point. It could give tough competition to the likes of Bajaj Dominar, KTM 390 Duke and TVS Apache RR310. More

    2022 KTM 390 Adventure, 250 ADV Debuts – New Updates, Colours

    KTM unveiled their 390 Adventure back at the 2019 EICMA. Just a few months before the world grappled into the claws of Covid-19 pandemic. India was one of the first country in the world where this new motorcycle was launched, in Jan 2020. Later in Nov 2020, India also got the 250 Adventure motorcycle.
    Both these motorcycles, like the Duke and RC siblings, are made by Bajaj Auto at their plant near Pune in Maharashtra. From here, these motorcycles are not only made for local demand, but also for exports. Despite of spending most of its time under the existence of the corona virus, KTM has managed to give an update to the two motorcycles.
    2022 KTM 250 ADV
    Ever since launch, demand for the KTM 390 ADV has been high. Like others, KTM too has been struggling to meet demand, largely due to shortage of parts. In Sep 2021, KTM 390 (RC + Duke + ADV) sales stood at 373 units in India, while 893 units were exported. In Oct, domestic sales increased to 1,171 units while exports were at 1,154 units.
    2022 KTM 390 Adventure – Updates
    With the global automotive parts shortage expected to end in the coming months, KTM has given an update to their adventure motorcycles. Updates have been dished out for 1290 Super Adventure S, 1290 Super Adventure R, 390 Adventure and 250 Adventure.

    Speaking about the updates on board the 2022 390 ADV, KTM says that the motorcycle now comes with a more free-roaming spirit of adventure. Apart from getting fresh look with new colour options, its electronic features have also been amplified. Features added on 390 ADV for 2022 include two new traction control modes – Street and Offroad. These new modes will automatically adjust degree of rear wheel slip, helping rider to better control in loose or wet terrain.

    Many KTM 390 Adv owners had complained that in the event of a brief stall or fall during off-roading, the traction control system used to reset. This made it difficult for riders, as they had to again dial back the old settings and that too during an ongoing off-road session. This has now been fixed. KTM says that the updated 2022 390 Adventure will allow riders to continue with the Offroad traction mode in the event of brief stall or fall.
    Another change delivered to the 390 Adventure, are its alloys. Instead of 12 spokes seen on the current motorcycle, the new 2022 models will come with 10 spokes. KTM says this increases the stiffness and the resistance for the rims, making them even more durable on tough terrains. Two new colour options have been – Black with Orange accents and Orange with Blue accents. The blue is the same shade which is seen on the new gen RC 390.

    2022 KTM 250 Adventure – Updates
    Like the KTM 390 ADV, the 250 ADV has also been updated to the new alloys. It now gets 10 spokes, instead of the 12 spokes in current model. Colours have also been updated. Two colours on offer are – Orange with White accents, Blue with White accents.
    There have been no change made to the engine specs. Both 2022 KTM 390 ADV and 250 ADV continue to be powered by the same engine as current one. 390 ADV is powered by a single cylinder 373cc motor, delivering 43.5 PS power and 37 Nm torque. 250 ADV is powered by 248cc motor delivering 30 PS power and 24 Nm torque.
    Remaining list of features continues to be the same for both motorcycles as before. This includes LED headlight, LED taillight, digital instrument cluster with bluetooth capabilities, dual ABS, quick shifter, etc. More

    Bajaj Chetak Based Husqvarna Electric Scooter Spied For First Time

    As a brand, Husqvarna has gotten off to a good start in the country. It currently offers Vitpilen 250 and Svartpilen 250 in the Indian market, which have registered consistent sales since their launch. Husqvarna has also made India an export-oriented manufacturing hub for its sub-400cc motorcycles.
    It’s only natural for the company to think about expanding its footprint in the country. That’s exactly where its electric two-wheelers come into the picture. Earlier this year, they had two EV concepts. These were E-Pilen electric motorcycle and Vektorr concept electric scooter.
    Just like its fossil-fuel motorcycles, Husqvarna electric two-wheelers will also be manufactured by Bajaj Auto. The latter holds a 48% stake in KTM AG, the parent company of Husqvarna Motorcycles. The first Husqvarna electric scooter has now been spied testing in Pune, along with Bajaj Chetak.     Husqvarna Vektorr concept electric scooter will share the same platform as that of Chetak electric scooter. However, Vektorr is entirely different from a design perspective. As compared to Chetak’s retro profile, Vektorr has a futuristic look and feel.

    While Chetak has a laid back, easy going character, Vektorr seems more formal and quite like a machine. Geometrically, Chetak’s design is all about smooth curves whereas Vektorr largely has straight-cut body panels.
    Some key features of Vektorr include round headlamp, dual-tone colour theme of black and white with yellow accents, glossy front panel, a long, flat seat, and sleek tail section. It is to note that this is the concept version of Vektorr. It is possible that there may be changes in the production variant, which is expected to debut next year.
    Husqvarna electric scooter powertrain
    Vektorr will get its power from a 4kW motor. This is likely to be the same as that of Chetak. Vektorr concept has a top speed of 45 kmph and range of 95 km. This is similar to Chetak that offers 85 km in Sport mode and 95 km in Eco mode. Chetak top speed is 70 kmph.
    Husqvarna Electric Scooter Concept – Vektorr
    Vektorr could also borrow quite a few hardware components from Chetak. For example, the trailing-arm suspension at the front and monoshock unit at the rear could be the same as that of Chetak. Upon launch, it could rival Ather 450X, Ola S1 Pro, etc.
    In the electric two-wheeler segment in India, customers currently have plenty of options to choose from. However, factors like high pricing, range anxiety and lack of adequate charging infrastructure continue to be bottlenecks for this segment. Notwithstanding, manufacturers continue to be bullish in this space. There are expectations that this sector will witness rapid growth in coming years once the teething troubles are sorted out.

    New Aprilia SR GT 125cc ADV Scooter Debuts At EICMA 2021

    While adventure bikes in recent years have turned out to be the new blue-eyed boys in the global motorcycling community, it is time for scooter lovers to get a taste of adventure as well. At the ongoing edition of EICMA, a couple of ADV scooters made their maiden appearance, the most prominent of all being a 350cc ADV scooter from Honda.
    The list gets longer with Aprilia revealing not one but two adventure scooters at the biennial auto event. Unlike the ADV from Honda, the scooters from Aprilia are entry-level models and will serve a wider range of consumers. Called SR GT, the Italian brand has described the model as an ‘urban adventure scooter’.
    Aprilia SR GT – Design
    Starting with their design, the SR GT twins draw inspiration from other Aprilia models with a few elements borrowed from the SXR range. In true essence, SR GT is a Maxi scooter with an ADV-like stance. This translates to edgy styling with signature tri-LED headlights upfront on the apron.
    Other typical ADV elements include a smoked windscreen on top of the apron and a front-heavy faired body. Like most Maxi scooters, SR GT doesn’t feature a flat floorboard with the transmission tunnel running down its spine. The silver-coloured footrests extend to double up as bash plates for undercarriage protection. The single-piece saddle provides lumbar support to the rider.
    New Aprilia SR GT ADV Scooter
    At rear, the flat tail section features a single-piece grab rail along with a sharp LED taillight. SR GT can be had in three colour options namely Aprilia Black, Street Grey and Infinity Blue. Those wanting even sportier paint schemes can opt for the more premium Sport trim which offers three different liveries like Street Grey, Red Raceway, and Street Gold.
    To complement the sporty attire, SR GT gets a premium red-stitched seat cover along with the red alloy wheels. The alloys are shod with knobby dual-purpose tyres, commonly seen in adventure tourers to take on rough roads. In fact, a wide handlebar, increased ground clearance and long-travel suspension are all inspirations taken from contemporary ADVs.
    Mechanical Specs
    Underpinned by a double cradle chassis, the frame sits on 33mm telescopic forks upfront and twin shock absorbers at rear, both derived from Showa. Braking duties will be carried out by petal-shaped discs with 260mm and 220mm rotors at front and rear respectively. The SR GT twins ride on 14-inch front and 13-inch rear wheels.
    SR GT will be available in two derivatives- SR GT 125 and SR GT 200. The former is powered by a 125cc, single-cylinder engine that pushes out 14.75 bhp at 8,750rpm and peak torque of 12Nm at 6,500rpm. The latter, on the other hand, features a 174cc, single-cylinder unit that kicks out 17.43 bhp at 8,500rpm and 16.5Nm at 7,000rpm.     Back in 2018, Royal Enfield had unveiled bobber-styled Concept KX at EICMA. ‘838’ engraving on the engine indicated that the motor was of 838cc capacity. While Concept KX is not going into production stage anytime soon, its core design format will be utilized for the new 650cc cruiser from Royal Enfield. The latter has now made its global debut as SG650 at 2021 EICMA.
    After unveiling their 120th anniversary edition of Interceptor 650 and Continental GT650, Royal Enfield has now revealed an all new 650cc motorcycle concept called SG650. It is an all new motorcycle, which is likely to be transformed into a production spec bobber sometime next year.

    Retro-styled Royal Enfield 650cc bobber is equipped with features such as round headlamp, round rear-view mirrors, teardrop fuel tank design, single seat, dual exhaust and broad rear fender. Users can expect a comfortable riding stance, made possible with wide, elevated handlebar and forward-set footpegs.
    It is seen with dual instrument pods, a larger unit on the left and a smaller one on the right. The latter is Tripper navigation display unit, which was first seen with Meteor 350. It is possible that the 650cc bobber SG650 can get a new range of connectivity features. This would be expected from a premium bike that will be positioned above 650 twins in the company’s line-up.

    SG in the SG650 likely stands for Shotgun. Royal Enfield has trademarked the name Shotgun for an upcoming motorcycle. It is likely that the SG650 concept becomes Shotgun 650 upon launch. Powering the new Shotgun 650cc bobber will be the same 648cc, parallel twin motor that does duty on Interceptor and Continental GT. It makes 47 bhp at 7150 rpm and 52 Nm at 5250 rpm. It is mated to a constant mesh 6-speed gearbox.

    The engine has been designed for real world riding conditions. It suits city streets as well as effortless cruising on open roads. It is possible that the engine could be tweaked slightly on 650cc bobber to make it more suitable for long distance touring.
    While 650 twins have standard telescopic forks at front, the new 650cc cruiser is expected to get USD forks. In that case, it will be the first Royal Enfield bike to get this feature. USD forks will allow better handling and safer braking at high speeds.

    At the rear, the bike will get standard twin shock absorbers. Braking system could be the same as 650 twins – 320 mm disc at front and 240 mm at rear. Dual-channel ABS will be offered as standard. In India, Royal Enfield 650cc bobber is expected to be launched at around Rs 4 lakh (ex-sh). It will be a pretty good deal at this price point. The SG650 upon launch will also be sold in several international markets.
    Royal Enfield is also expected to launch a cruiser based on this bobber concept sometime next year. It remains to be seen the type of response the 650cc bobber cruiser generates.     2021 Suzuki Avenis 125cc Scooter Full Details – TVS Ntorq Rival

    After teasing multiple times, the new Suzuki scooter has finally shown itself for the first time. It is called Suzuki Avenis. To be offered in sporty design, new-gen features and multiple colour options, it will take on TVS Ntorq and Yamaha RayZR.
    2021 Suzuki Avenis 125cc Scooter
    This new Suzuki Avenis scooter is a new offering in the 125cc segment. It is the third 125cc scooter to be offered by Suzuki in the country after Access and Burgman Street. It will be a more premium offering than Access 125, but could sit below Burgman Street in the lineup.
    The new 125cc scooter gets a much sportier design than Access. The sporty styling elements are said to be inspired by motorcycles. Upfront, the apron flaunts a centrally mounted trapezoidal LED headlight with an integrated DRL and features prominent crease lines.
    The turn indicators are placed on the handlebar cowl similar to the ones seen in SR 125 and SR 160 while a small windscreen is positioned above the cowl. The side panels feature an overdose of cuts and creases which lend the scooter an edgy styling.

    The sporty design is carried forward to the tail section with a split triangular LED tail-light. Suzuki is offering multiple attractive colour options in addition to dual-tone paint schemes which enhance the scooter’s aesthetics. Other noticeable elements are split grab rails and simple-looking rear-view mirrors.

    In terms of features, it gets an all-digital instrument console which is derived from the connected variants of Access and Burgman Street. This display is enabled with Bluetooth connectivity which offers features like call/messages alert and turn-by-turn navigation.
    Navigation and call features will be powered by Suzuki Ride Connect App, which is on offer with Android as well as Apple iOS. Other features on offer include LED headlights and taillights, a USB charger, an external fuel filler cap, integrated engine start and kill switch.

    If it is indeed a 125cc machine, the new 2021 Suzuki Avenis Scooter will be powered by a familiar 124cc single-cylinder motor that propels Access as well as Burgman Street. This motor kicks out 8.5 bhp at 6,750rpm and 10Nm at 5,500rpm. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). Price of Suzuki Avenis scooter will be revealed soon.
