As competition intensifies, Tata has plans to launch multiple new products. One of these is Harrier EV, which is scheduled for launch in the current financial year.Tata Harrier EV Spied with New AlloysLatest spy shots of the Tata Harrier EV from Ladakh, shows it wearing a new set of alloys. These are the same alloys which the Harrier EV Concept was wearing, when it was showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo last year. This is the first time that the Harrier test mule is spotted wearing these alloys.2025 Tata Harrier EV SpiedHarrier EV is built on Tata’s born-electric acti.ev architecture. This is already in use with the Punch EV. Harrier EV is likely to have a 60-kWh battery pack, offering a range of around 500 km. The current ICE model is equipped with a 2.0-litre diesel engine. It churns out 170 PS and 350 Nm. Transmission choices include 6-speed MT and 6-speed AT. It is reported that Tata is also working on a petrol option for Harrier.With its optimized battery pack design, acti.ev has been able to achieve 10% improvement in energy density. Multiple range options can be attained, from 300 km to 600 km. Charging options include support for 7.2kW to 11kW AC charger. With a 150 kW DC fast charger, around 100 km can be loaded in just around 10 minutes.Tata Harrier.ev showcaseHarrier EV to get AWD, ADASTata’s acti.ev pure EV architecture supports FWD and RWD with a single-motor setup as well as AWD with a dual-motor setup. It is likely that AWD option will be made available with Harrier EV. A test mule spotted recently was seen with an electric motor powering the rear wheels.2025 Tata Harrier EV SpiedIt is possible that this particular test mule could have been an AWD model. An AWD setup can significantly enhance the capabilities of Harrier EV. It is also relevant from a business perspective, as rivals such as upcoming XUV700 EV (XUV.e8) are also likely to offer AWD option.While ICE Harrier already has ADAS, some additional features could be introduced with the Harrier EV. The acti.ev architecture to be used for Harrier EV has enhanced computing power and ADAS Level 2 capabilities. It is also designed to support ADAS L2+, thereby ensuring enhanced safety and navigation capabilities. The acti.ev platform supports 5G, something that will ensure seamless connectivity. Harrier EV will be getting features such as Vehicle to Load (V2L) and Vehicle to Vehicle Charging (V2V).2025 Tata Harrier EV SpiedCharging network expansionParallel to introducing new models, Tata Motors is also working to expand its charging infrastructure. This will be critical in improving overall experience for Tata’s EV buyers. By the end of this decade, Tata Motors has plans to set up around 100,000 charging stations.Another focus area is to expand the number of EV-exclusive showrooms. Over the next couple of years, more than 50 EV-exclusive showrooms will be opened.     Tata Sanand Plant To Start EV Production Soon – Curvv, Harrier, Safari EVs Spied Together

    Along with Harrier EV, Tata is also planning the launch of Curvv EV and Safari EVTata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd, a unit of Tata Motors, had acquired this Sanand facility from Ford India in January 2023Tata Motors, with an extensive range of electric vehicles in its portfolio, is planning to commence production from its new Sanand plant from April 2024. This plant was acquired from Ford India early last year and it is from this manufacturing unit that Tata Motors also produces the ICE versions of Nexon.Tata to make EVs at Sanand PlantThe Sanand plant which has been acquired from Ford India at Rs 725.7 crore, has a current capacity of 3 lakh units per annum though production capacity can be extended to 4.2 lakh units. Even as the company has announced that production of the Nexon EV will soon commence, Tata Motors also plans launch of the Curvv EV and Harrier EV, all of which will be produced from the same plant.[embedded content]There is also the Safari EV in the making. All three of these new EV SUVs were spied together recently in Pune. Targeting a 5 percent growth in the passenger vehicle segment, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles MD Shailesh Chandra revealed the timeline for launch of the Curvv EV and Harrier EV. The Curvv EV is planned for launch in Q3/Q4 of CY 2024 while later this year the company will also launch the Harrier EV.Earlier this week the company introduced Punch.ev. It comes in at a competitive pricing of Rs 10.99 lakh to Rs 14.49 lakh, ex-showroom and booking open at Rs 21,000. It competes with the Citroen eC3 and upcoming Hyundai Exter EV and Kia Clavis. Punch.ev is being offered with two battery packs. The standard model gets a 25-kWh battery pack offering a 315 km range while the Long Range (LR) variant sports a larger 35 kWh battery pack with a 421 km range.Tata Safari EV spied in PuneTata Curvv has been spied on test and prices are likely to be announced by June 2024. It enters the compact SUV space and will have both ICE and electric powertrains. The ICE variant will take on the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos along with the Maruti Grand Vitara while the electric version of Curvv will compete with the upcoming Creta EV, Maruti eVX and Mahindra BE.05.Tata Harrier EV spied in PuneTata Harrier EV, Safari EV Design Patent LeakedTata Harrier and Safari EVs will be the company’s flagship electric vehicle. Design leaks show off a more futuristic design with extensive exterior updates along with a host of interior features. These include a twin spoke steering wheel, panoramic sunroof, touch based HVAC system, a 360 degree camera and ADAS. Cabin comforts also extend to automatic climate controls, wireless charging, ventilated seating in the front and ambient lighting.Tata Harrier EV and Safari EV will be positioned on the company’s Gen II EV architecture, an improvement over the Gen I platform seen on the Nexon EV. It will likely draw its power via a 60 kWh to 80 kWh battery pack to offer a range of around 500 kms on full charge. Expect prices to be in the Rs 25-35 lakh range upon launch. More

    Tata Harrier Electric SUV Debuts At 2023 Auto Expo – Gets AWD

    With new rivals expected on the scene in 2023 and beyond, Tata Motors is busy ramping up its EV portfolioTata Harrier Electric SUVWhile Tata Motors currently enjoys market share of more than 80% in EV segment, competition is expected to increase significantly in coming years. To ensure it continues to hold strong, Tata is lining up several new EVs. These will be showcased at 2023 Auto Expo.Tata upcoming EVs that have high potential to emerge as bestsellers include Harrier Electric and Safari Electric. Of the two, at the Auto Expo 2023, Tata Motors has showcased Harrier EV as well as Sierra EV. Other Tata EVs that are showcased at Auto Expo include Curvv electric concept and Avinya born-electric car.Tata Harrier Electric SUVTata Harrier electric will be targeting a range of around 400-450 km. Battery capacity could be around 60 kWh whereas power and torque output is expected to be close to 200 PS and 400 Nm. 0 to 100 kmph could be achievable in under 10 seconds. The focus will be on improving performance to make it better than the existing ICE-based Harrier and Safari.Some of the tech features could be borrowed from Nexon EV, for example, multi-mode regen. Based on their driving style and traffic conditions, users can choose from four pre-set levels of regenerative braking. Regen is one of the key equipment that helps boost range. The battery pack and motor will be IP67 rated and powered by state-of-the-art Ziptron technology.Tata Harrier Electric SUVMulti-drive modes are likely to be available with Harrier electric. Users will be able to choose if they want to extend range or have an exhilarating, full power ride. Drive mode options could be similar to Nexon EV that has Eco, City and Sport modes. Another feature that is expected is an electronic parking brake. Harrier Electric comes in AWD system.Charging options could be similar to Nexon EV, albeit in higher capacity. There will be the standard home charger that could be connected to any 15A socket, a fast charger option and DC fast charging stations. Battery and motor warranty could be similar to Tata Nexon EV that offers 8 years / 1.60 lakh km, whichever is earlier.Harrier electric featuresWhile the core silhouette will be largely the same as current model, electric version of Harrier gets some unique styling bits. It is seen in all white colour. In the front is a LED strip with an illuminated Tata Motors logo. Changes introduced are to achieve improved aerodynamics. It will help boost range and also achieve a sensuous profile for the SUV. Some exclusive colour options are likely to be introduced for Harrier electric upon launch.Tata Harrier Electric SUVInside, much of the equipment list will be largely the same as available with current models. Some key features include panoramic sunroof, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated driver and co-driver seats, premium speaker system, air purifier and wireless charger. Connected car tech iRA will be available as well. Harrier electric SUV could get a larger touchscreen infotainment system, in line with industry trends. More
