MoM sales also fell 41.52 percent from 55,662 units sold in November 2021.It was the Suzuki Access scooter that topped sales charts with 25,358 units sold in December 2021, down 36.85 percent over 40,154 units sold in December 2020. MoM sales also dipped 40.31 percent from 42,481 units sold in November 2021. Suzuki Access commands a 77.91 percent in the company lineup, up from 76.32 percent held in November 2021.Suzuki Two Wheeler Sales / Exports Dec 2021 vs Dec 2020 (YoY)The only model to post YoY growth was Suzuki Burgman. Sales increased 116.28 percent YoY to 5,766 units. MoM sales however, dipped 48.74 percent from 11,248 units sold in November 2021. Gixxer commanded a 56.39 percent share in December 2021, down from 63.54 percent held in November 2021 when sales stood at 6,294 units.Burgman exports also increased 120.95 percent YoY to 4,176 units, up from 1,890 units sold in December 2020. MoM exports were up 88.87 percent from 2,211 units sold in November 2021. 125cc scooters have started to find more takers in the Indian market. Most two wheeler makers have a model or two in this segment, fitting it with the latest in styling and features. Suzuki Motorcycle India released their newest offering in this segment last month. It has now started arriving at dealer showrooms across India.
Suzuki’s new Avenis 125cc scooter is set to attract the attention of a younger segment of buyers in the country. It receives sporty styling and state of the art connectivity features. The new Avenis is a more premium offering than Access 125, but will be positioned below the Burgman Street in the company lineup.
Suzuki Avenis 125cc Scooter – Walkaround
Suzuki Avenis is presented in 5 dual tone colour options. These include Metallic Matte Fibroin Grey / Metallic Lush Green, Pearl Blaze Orange / Glass Sparkle Black, Metallic Matte Black / Glass Sparkle Black and Pearl Mirage White / Metallic Matte Fibroin Grey, all of which are priced at Rs 86,700. The Metallic Triton Blue (Race Edition) on the other hand carries a higher price tag of Rs 87,000.
Key features include Suzuki Ride Connect with Turn-By-Turn Navigation system. Body mounted LED headlamps, LED tail lamps and rear indicators along with ample under seat space and front box with USB socket are also among the features seen on the new Avenis. Avenis gets a Bluetooth enabled digital console which can be synced to the riders smartphone for access to incoming calls, SMS and WhatsApp alerts, missed calls and unread SMS updates. It also includes a speed excess warning, battery level display and estimated time of arrival.
Its low body weight of 106 kgs, external hinge type fuel cap, motorcycle inspired rear indicators and sporty alloy wheels add to its sporty appeal. Avenis also sports distinctive body graphics, Suzuki branding, sporty muffler cover and split grab rails.
The Suzuki Avenis console can be synced to both AndroidTM and iOS phones. The rider can download the ‘Suzuki Ride Connect’ application and install the application to allow for navigation assistance, last parked location and trip report.
Suzuki Avenis
Suzuki Avenis measures 1,895mm in length, 710 mm in width and 1,175mm in height. It gets ground clearance of 160mm, wheelbase of 1,265mm and kerb weight of 106 kgs. Underseat storage is at 12.8 liters while fuel tank is of 5.2 liter capacity.
Engine Specs
Suzuki Avenis Scooter gets its power via a 124cc, single cylinder motor that also powers the Access and Burgman Street. This engine offers 8.5 hp power at 6,750 rpm and 10 Nm torque at 5,500 rpm. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).

Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. (SMIPL) has rolled out its 6 millionth vehicle at its Kherki Dhaula, Gurugram manufacturing facility. The 6th millionth celebratory unit is a Suzuki Avenis. This being Suzuki’s newest product launch, available at a starting price of around Rs 87k. With a launch in late 2021, deliveries of the 125cc scooter are set to begin anytime now.
SMIPL sells Access 125, Gixxer 250 and 150 series, and Burgman Street in India. Avenis 125cc scooter being the newest addition to the manufacturer’s product portfolio. Suzuki already enjoys a growing market share in the 125cc segment, and this is expected to further improve with the launch of Suzuki Avenis.
Suzuki December 2021 sales
Despite much lower volumes than manufacturers that sit atop the sales chart, Suzuki two-wheelers has been steady at the marketplace. The company considers India an important market considering its contribution to Suzuki’s global motorcycles sales volume.
Though its product portfolio isn’t elaborate, its products are well thought out when it comes to segment reach. The company retail sales in December 2021 at 42,609 units. YoY decline is reported at 6 percent, down from 45,332 units at volume decline of 2,723 units.
Suzuki Avenis
Sales were enough to place Suzuki above Royal Enfield, and Yamaha last month. MoM decline is reported at 13 percent, down from 49k units. It’s sales numbers place it outside of the top 4 two-wheeler manufacturers in the country but above all others on most months.

Suzuki Burgman Street Glossy GreyNew shades for Suzuki Access 125 and Burgman Street are in addition to the existing colour options
To ensure customers do not have to compromise in any way in terms of colour options, Suzuki Motorcycles India has introduced new shades for its 125cc scooters – Access and Burgman Street. These scooters are already offered in a wide range of colour options. New colour options are available for standard as well as Ride Connect editions of Access and Burgman Street. Price is the same as earlier.
Suzuki Access and Burgman Street new colours
Suzuki Access 125 Standard Edition is now available in two new colour options of ‘Metallic Dark Greenish Blue’ and ‘Metallic Matte Black’. In case of Suzuki Access 125 Ride Connect Edition, the scooter gets a new ‘Glossy Grey’ paint scheme. The ‘Glossy Grey’ colour option has also been added for Suzuki Burgman Street Standard Edition and Ride Connect Edition.
These new exciting colour options further enhance the youthful profile of the scooters. The Metallic Dark Greenish Blue has the greenish blue shade on most of the outer surfaces. The seat has a contrasting tan shade whereas the floorboard area sports a chocolaty look.
The Metallic Matte Black shade looks even more exciting with its blacked-out profile and contrasting maroon seat. The Glossy Grey paint scheme also has high-energy vibes that will appeal to young generation, especially in case of Burgman Street.
New Suzuki Access Metallic Dark Greenish Blue Colour
The scooters get a key safety update in the form of side-stand engine cut-off feature. This feature has been mandated by the government. With side stand interlock system, the engine will not start until the side stand is disengaged.
Forgetting to disengage the side stand is known to cause accidents. It usually happens when the side stand hits the road at high speed, causing disbalance and loss of control.
No other changes
Apart from the new colours and side-stand interlock system, there are no other changes for Suzuki Access and Burgman Street. Both scooters share the same 124cc, air cooled, single cylinder engine. It generates 8.7 ps of max power at 6,750 rpm and 10 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm. It is mated to a CVT gearbox.
Suzuki Access Matte Black
With its maxi-styled design, Burgman Street is sportier in comparison to Access. Burgman has features such as full-digital meter, sporty LED headlight and position light, LED rear combination light, windscreen, front disc brake and sporty muffler cover. Both scooters have ample underseat storage and charging port.
Ride Connect Editions of Suzuki Access and Burgman Street are equipped with Bluetooth-based connectivity platform. Users can access a range of smart features via Suzuki Ride Connect Application.
Suzuki Access Glossy Grey

Two wheeler sales in India are on the decline over past several months. Rising fuel prices, an overall dismal scenario across the segment and increased impetus to the electric two wheeler segment has resulted in lower sales of petrol powered two wheelers. Shortage of semi-conductors has also had an impact on production of premium bikes.
Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited, a subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan, has released their sales report for November 2021. It may be seen from the attached tables that while domestic sales dipped marginally in the past month, exports have surged on a YoY basis. However, taking into account MoM sales, de-growth was seen both in the case of domestic sales and exports.
Suzuki Sales Nov 2021 – YoY and MoM Domestic Sales
Total domestic sales in November 2021 stood at 55,662 units, down 6.12 percent over 59,288 units sold in November 2020. Every model in the company lineup posted a de-growth except for the Burgman.
Leading domestic sales charts was Suzuki Access with 42,481 units sold, down 6.80 percent over 45,582 units sold in November 2020. The Access scooter currently holds a 76.32 percent share. It even stood at No.9 on the list of best-selling scooters in the past month. On a MoM basis, the Access posted an 8.54 percent de-growth over 46,450 units sold in October 2020 though share was higher at 81.80 percent.
Suzuki Two Wheelers Sales Nov 2021 vs Nov 2020 (YoY)
Suzuki Burgman was at No.2 with increased sales both on YoY and MoM basis. Sales stood at 11,248 units in the past month, up from 9,078 units sold in November 2020 while MoM sales grew 56.24 percent over 7,199 units sold in October 2021. In the list of top 10 scooter sales last month, the Burgman was at No. 6.
Suzuki Gixxer sales dipped 20.51 percent YoY to 1,705 units, down from 2,145 units sold in November 2020. MoM sales also fell 38.56 percent over 2,775 units sold in October 2021. Of the Gixxer 250, sales dipped massively to just 185 units, down 91.91 percent over 2,286 units sold in November 2020 while MoM sales fell 27.45 percent from 255 units sold in October 2021. The Gixxer 250 competes with Bajaj Pulsar 250 and Yamaha FZ25 but is priced significantly higher among them.
Hayabusa sales stood at 17 units last month down from 24 units sold in October 2021 while Intruder and V-Strom 650 sales dipped 91.35 percent and 16.67 percent YoY to 16 units and 10 units respectively.

Suzuki Exports November 2021
Suzuki two wheeler performance in global markets were somewhat better. Exports increased 45.77 percent in November 2021 to 9,905 units, up from 6,795 units shipped in November 2020. MoM exports however, dipped 20.13 percent from 12,401 units shipped in October 2021.
In global markets, all models in the company lineup posted a YoY growth except for Hayate and Lets. Gixxer shipments stood at 6,294 units, up 37.66 percent over 4,571 units shipped in November 2020 while MoM sales increased 3.32 percent from 6,092 units sold in October 2021. Burgman and Gixxer 250 exports increased 331.84 percent and 173 percent YoY to 2,211 units and 1,264 units respectively. MoM shipments saw the Burgman suffer a 55.78 percent de-growth over 5,000 units shipped in October 2021 while Gixxer 250 exports surged 232.63 percent from 380 units shipped in October 2021.
Exports of Suzuki Intruder increased two fold YoY to 96 units, up from 64 units sold in November 2020 while MoM shipments dipped 44.83 percent from 174 units sold in October 2021. Access and Lets sales were down to 0 units in November 2021 even as Access sales were at 257 units in October 2021. More

2022 Suzuki GSX R125
Suzuki GSX S125 and GSX R125 borrow design inspirations from their larger siblings with 750cc and 1000cc motors
The sub-125cc motorcycle segment forms a very crucial space, especially for young and beginner riders. This is because of strict licensing regulations in European Union which don’t allow amateur riders to ride a two-wheeler above 125cc which churns out not more than 15 bhp.
It is in this space that the GSX range from Suzuki with its twin 125cc bikes attracts enthusiastic young riders as it manages to stay under the norms. While GSX R125 is a fully-faired machine, GSX S125 is its naked sibling. Both motorcycles have received some minor updates for the year 2022 mostly due to the updated emission norms.
2022 Suzuki 125cc Motorcycles – Updates
Both bikes now flaunt a slightly redesigned headlamp cluster and revised body graphics. The 2022 GSX S125 and GSX R125 are now Euro 5 compliant and despite adopting the stricter emission norms, power and torque outputs have remained unchanged.
Both motorcycles are powered by a 124.6cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, single-cylinder motor which dishes out 15 bhp at 10,000rpm and 11 Nm of peak torque at 8,000rpm. Although output hasn’t changed, the updated mill now revs higher by 500rpm.
2022 Suzuki GSX S125
The motor is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The updated motorcycles will start reaching showrooms across European markets by early next year. Apart from updates in the powertrain department, the bikes have also received some subtle cosmetic revisions in order to lend them a fresh appeal.
Also, new colour options have been added to the palette. The S125 is available in three paint schemes including Titan Black, Pearl Brilliant White with Titan Black and Metallic Triton Blue with Titan Black. On the other hand, its fully clothed sibling can be had in two colour options- Titan Black and Metallic Triton Blue.
Others Specs & Prices
Other specifications on both models have remained unchanged. Both motorcycles are suspended on conventional telescopic forks up front and a mono-shock at rear. Braking is carried out by a petal-type disc at both ends which are aided by a dual-channel ABS. The bikes continue to ride on 17-inch front and rear alloy wheels.
2022 Suzuki GSX R125
Prices of the updated GSX S125 and GSX R125 are yet to be revealed but both bikes are expected to be priced at around 3,600 Euros (approx. INR 3.08 lakh). This makes it highly unlikely for these motorcycles to be launched in India. In terms of specs, the 125cc iteration of the GSX range will directly be pitted against KTM RC 125 and Duke 125. More

The two wheeler industry continues to battle challenges in view of the ongoing pandemic while the segment is also affected due to rising fuel prices and input costs along with supply chain disruptions. Suzuki Motorcycle India, SMIPL, posted a 15.53 percent decline in domestic sales to 56,785 units in October 2021. The company had sold 67,225 units in the same month last year. MoM domestic sales however, noted a marginal increase by 2.12 percent over 55,608 units sold in September 2021.
Suzuki Sales Breakup Oct 2021 – Access Tops
Domestic sales for October 2021 saw the Access scooter in top form despite an 11.42 percent YoY de-growth. The Access was also the third bestselling scooter in India following the Activa and Jupiter. Sales in the past month stood at 46,450 units, down from 52,441 units sold in October 2020. MoM sales performed better with a 3.13 percent growth over 45,040 units sold in September 2021. Share in the company lineup increased marginally from 81 percent held in September 2021 to 81.80 percent in the past month.
At No. 2 was the Suzuki Burgman. Posting a YoY de-growth of 32.17 percent, sales dipped to 7,199 units last month from 10,613 units sold in October 2020. MoM sales also dipped 16.96 percent over 8,669 units sold in September 2021.
Suzuki Gixxer and Gixxer 250 posted a 15.19 percent and 57.43 percent YoY decline in sales to 2,775 units and 255 units respectively in October 2021. MoM sales however improved for the Gixxer up 107.09 percent over 1,340 units sold in September 2021 while Gixxer 250 sales dipped 16.94 percent over 307 unit sold in September 2021.
Suzuki Sales, Exports Oct 2021 vs Oct 2020 (YoY)
Sales in domestic markets for the Suzuki Intruder dipped 77 percent YoY and 69.74 percent on a MoM basis. Sales stood at 69 units last month from 300 units sold in October 2020 and from 228 units sold in September 2021. Suzuki V-Strom 650 sales stood at 13 units in October 2021.
Suzuki Two Wheeler Exports Oct 2021
In terms of exports, the company performed better in a YoY basis with a 28.64 percent growth reported. Sales which had stood at 9,640 units in October 2020 increased to 12,401 units in the past month. MoM exports however remained flat with 12,404 units shipped in September 2021.
In export markets, it was the Gixxer that found most demand. Sales increased 29.31 percent YoY to 6,092 units, up from 4,711 units sold in October 2020 and currently commanding a share of 49.13 percent. However sales in September 2021 had stood at 6,406 units relating to a de-growth of 4.92 percent while share had stood at 51.65 percent.
Suzuki Sales, Exports Oct 2021 vs Sep 2021 (MoM)
Suzuki Burgman posted YoY and MoM growth. Sales increased 225.52 percent YoY to 5,000 units over 1,536 units sold in October 2020. MoM sales surged 50.65 percent over 3,319 units sold in September 2021.
Thereafter, the Gixxer 250 (380 units), Hayate (498 units), Access (257 units) and Lets (0 units) all posted YoY and MoM de-growth. Suzuki Intruder was in more demand with a 64.15 percent YoY growth to 174 units shipped last month over 106 units exported in October 2020. MoM exports also increased 89.13 percent over 92 units shipped in September 2021.
Suzuki Avenis has just been launched in India which could boost sales in the coming months. It is the company’s third offering in the 125cc scooter market, following the Access 125 and Burgman Street 125.
