    Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 And Scram 400 Spied Testing Together

    The upcoming 650cc cruiser from Royal Enfield has been in development for almost two years now and spotted testing on multiple occasions in various parts of the country. Multiple iterations of the 650cc cruiser have been spotted in recent times. The bikemaker currently has its hands full as it is busy developing several projects at the same time.
    One of the other products in the development stage as of now is Scram 400 which is based on Himalayan. Both Scram 400 and the 650cc cruiser have been spied testing alongside each other recently. The motorcycles in the latest spy shots are heavily wrapped under covers trying to conceal their true identity.
    650cc Cruiser Details
    As mentioned previously, the overall design draws inspiration from the KX Bobber Concept which made its appearance at the EICMA 2018. Hence, it receives a low stance of a traditional cruiser with forward set footpegs, a wide handlebar and a low seat which provide relaxed riding ergonomics. Unlike the current 650cc Twins- Interceptor and Continental GT, the cruiser rides on alloy wheels shod by tubeless tyres.
    Also, the cruiser gets LED headlamps and a large windscreen up front, the latter should be available as an accessory though. Other styling highlights include a circular headlamp, circular rearview mirrors and teardrop-shaped fuel tank.
    Royal Enfield Shotgun 650
    The signature highlight of the bike are the twin exhausts laced with chrome which gives out a muffled exhaust note. The bike gets a flat tail section of which has been completely masked under camouflage.
    Powering the cruiser is the same 648cc parallel-twin, air-cooled motor that pushes out 47 bhp and 52 Nm of peak torque. This engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. Pleasantly, suspension duties will be handled by new upside-down forks instead of conventional telescopic forks at front. At rear, twin shock absorbers mounted at a greater angle than 650 Twins get the job done.
    Scram 400 Details
    On the other hand, Scram 400 is a road-biased tourer based on Himalayan’s platform which also shares certain design cues with the latter. However, most of the styling will be revised in order to lend it a distinct identity.

    For starters, unlike Himalayan, Scram 400 will get a smaller 19-inch front wheel instead of a 21-inch unit shod by dual-purpose tyres. A redesigned headlight mask has been added for a cleaner look.
    Scram 400 will be powered by a 411cc single-cylinder air-cooled SOHC engine that kicks out 24.3 bhp and 32 Nm of peak torque which will be paired with a five-speed gearbox. Suspension setup of the bike might be tuned a little to offer more favourable on-road dynamics.

    KTM Duke Based 2022 Husqvarna New Gen Spied Testing For First Time

    With its compact, sporty profile, peppy performance and ability to tackle varied terrains, Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 has emerged as a popular choice in several global markets. Now a new model has been spotted in UK, which appears to be the successor to existing variant. The test mule can be seen with a multitude of updates, so much so that it can be easily mistaken for an entirely new product.
    New Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 key updates
    One of the most striking changes is the new steel trellis frame. It has an entirely new design and is visually sportier and more pronounced, as compared to that of current model. More of the frame is now exposed, which works to enhance the bike’s rugged character. For example, the rear trellis sub-frame is now clearly visible. In the current model, the rear sub-frame is hidden under side panels.
    One interesting thing to note is that the test mule has its trellis frame in white shade. While it creates an exciting contrast against blacked-out components, this theme is unlikely to make it to production stage. Going by its core meaning of ‘Black Arrow’, the trellis frame will eventually be blacked-out for Svartpilen 401. Unless of course, Husqvarna has plans to be more flexible in its approach and focus exclusively on things that look better.
    Another key change is a new alloy lattice swingarm that has been bolted to the back of the frame. It appears to be similar to the one currently in use with KTM motorcycles. Visually, the lattice swingarm seems lighter as compared to the one used on existing model.

    New Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 gets a standard tail section with space for number plate. The current model has a non-existent tail section and number plate is mounted on rear tyre hugger. Other changes evident on the test mule include a new radial front brake calliper. This should be able to improve the bike’s braking capabilities.
    The bike has also been fitted with a compact fly screen. However, it’s not certain if it will be offered as standard or as an accessory. Another likely update could be a full-colour TFT instrument console. However, it’s not clear in these spy shots.
    New Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 engine
    It is evident that the test mule is equipped with a new engine. It looks almost same to the ones spotted with new KTM 390 Duke and RC390. As the engine panels appear entirely new, a major overhaul could be expected. The focus could be on improving efficiency and performance rather than just jacking up power and torque output.

    In its current form, Svartpilen 401 is powered by a 373 cc, single cylinder motor that is capable of generating 44 hp of max power at 9,000 rpm and 37 Nm of peak torque at 7,000 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
    As the test mule doesn’t seem to be production-ready, launch this year is unlikely. With the updates, new Svartpilen 401 could get costlier. The current model is offered at a starting price of £4,849 in UK.

    Bajaj Pulsar NS250, 250F Spied In Jaisalmer Ahead Of Launch

    Bajaj Auto’s focus has shifted towards the development of its new range of 250cc Pulsar motorcycles in recent months. Earlier last month, Rajeev Bajaj, MD of Bajaj Auto, has revealed that the company will launch the ‘biggest Pulsar’ around Diwali in November this year which is speculated to be the upcoming quarter-litre Pulsar.
    The new Pulsar 250 is said to be offered in multiple iterations- a naked streetfighter in the form of NS250, a semi-faired commuter in the form of 250F and a fully-faired supersport iteration in the form of RS250. Out of these, NS250 and 250F have been spotted most frequently.
    Recently, a few days ago, both these bikes were spotted by Bunny Punia. The automotive vlogger has again caught these two upcoming Pulsar duos in flesh near Jaisalmer in Rajasthan conducting pre-launch test trials. This is the second occasion where both iterations of the quarter-litre Pulsar have been caught in cameras. Like in previous spy shots, the bikes have been spotted wearing a heavy dose of camouflage.
    New Design
    Despite the covering, certain styling details of the new Pulsar 250 are evident from the latest spy shots. These include a single LED projector headlamp upfront flanked by sleek twin LED DRLs on both bikes. While the NS250 doesn’t feature a prominent front apron, 250F, just like the current 220F, gets a large front apron comprising a headlamp cowl and a windscreen that integrates into the side fairing.

    The naked iteration of Pulsar 250 also gets a bikini fairing along the front panels which extend up to the tank shrouds. From the looks of it, the fairing on NS250 also gets air scoops that cut into the air thus enhancing the bike’s aerodynamic qualities. Both motorcycles feature a similar raised tail section and a split seating setup. However, the riding posture on Pulsar 250F seems a bit more committed and aggressive in comparison to NS250.
    Other common styling highlights on both derivatives of Pulsar include a rear tyre hugger, a muscular front fender, split grab rails for pillion, an engine underbelly cowl rear-set footpegs and a clip-on handlebar. The new Pulsar 250 is also expected to offer a new instrument cluster, most probably a semi-digital unit which could come with Bluetooth connectivity.
    Expected Mechanical Specs
    Powering the new quarter-litre Pulsar motorcycles will be a new 250cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine which is likely to dish out 24 bhp and 20 Nm of peak torque. This unit will be mated to a six-speed gearbox most likely equipped with a slipper clutch.
    Suspension duties will be handled by telescopic forks at front and a mono-shock linked to the swingarm at rear. Braking hardware will comprise disc brakes at both ends complemented by dual-channel ABS. More

    Upcoming Benelli Electric Motorcycle Spied – Will Rival 150cc Bikes

    Electric mobility is a fast-growing space with new launches and unveils taking place almost every other day. It is a space where many established auto brands find themselves competing against relatively new brands or startups. Benelli is one such automaker who is eager to step into the two-wheeler electric segment.
    Earlier in June this year, Qianjiang Motors, Benelli’s parent company, introduced the QJ7000D electric motorcycle at 2021 Beijing Motor Show. Speculations suggested that this bike would hit showrooms of international markets re-branded as Benelli. Recently, spy images of the final production-spec QJ7000D were leaked on the internet.
    Design
    Going by images, the production model looks very similar to the pre-production concept at the annual auto show earlier this year. It gets a beefy profile towards the front, while the rear section is much sleeker.
    The front face features a split LED headlamp setup surrounded by angular fairing on sides. It gets a muscular faux tank mimicking contemporary supersport motorcycles which is hollow from inside and can store a full-face helmet.
    Upcoming Benelli Electric Motorcycle
    The bike also features a signature upswept floating tail section and a V-shaped windscreen. The motorcycle’s fairing gets a dual-tone colour theme of blue and grey which creates a nice sporty contrast with the blacked-out components of the frame, motor and alloy wheels.
    It offers a sporty and committed riding posture with a clip-on handlebar and slightly rear-set footpegs. Other styling highlights include split seats, a rear tyre hugger and uniquely shaped rearview mirrors.
    Electrical, Mechanical Specs
    As the name suggests, QJ7000D is likely to be equipped with a 7kW electric motor. However, the Chinese bikemaker claims that it gets a 10kW (13.4 bhp) motor which should propel the motorcycle to a top speed of almost 105 kmph. This puts it in the same ballpark as conventional 150cc IC engine-powered bikes. The electric motor will draw energy from a 72V, 60Ah battery pack which is claimed to deliver a range of 100km on a single charge.

    Coming to its hardware package, suspension duties of the bike will be carried out by USD telescopic forks at front and a mono-shock at rear. Stopping power is achieved from petal-shaped disc brakes on both ends while the bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels.
    Features
    Further, QJ700D is equipped with an unusual manual transmission that comprises conventional controls including a bar-mounted clutch lever and a foot-operated rear brake and gear shifters. Other features include a fully digital LCD instrument panel that displays a range of information such as speed, gear position, battery percentage, distance travelled, time, etc. The instrument console is likely to offer Bluetooth connectivity as well.

    Already the top selling bike in 200cc-500cc segment, things are going to get even more interesting with launch of next-gen Classic 350. The updated bike packs in a range of visual enhancements, functional improvements and new engine and chassis.
    Ahead of its launch on September 01, the motorcycles have started arriving at dealers across India. Hat tip to automotive enthusiast Keshav, for sharing exclusive photos of new RE C350 while it was being off-loaded from a transport trailer and being moved into a dealership.
    New-gen Classic 350 key updates
    Some of the key changes include new headlamp with new pilot lamps, updated fuel tank graphics, new exhaust design and new tail lamp unit. Users can expect a better experience, as the bike has wide and comfortable seats for both rider and pillion. While the handlebar is the same as earlier, the ergonomics have been improved with revisions in grips, switch cubes, info switch and oval master cylinder.
    Other key features of new-gen Classic 350 include integrated ignition and steering lock, semi-digital instrument cluster with LCD info panel, and USB charger. The bike gets Bluetooth-based Tripper navigation that comes with dedicated TFT display device. It is powered by Google navigation. Tripper system was introduced for the first time with Meteor 350. Several other Royal Enfield bikes are also expected to get Tripper navigation system.
    2021 Royal Enfield Classic 350 Arrives At Dealer
    A range of new colour options will be available with next-gen Classic 350. As per reports, new Classic 350 will have five variants. While the lower four variants will have two colour options each, the top-spec variant will have three dual-tone colour options. The top-spec model will make liberal use of chrome.
    New-gen Classic 350 engine and specs
    Powering next-gen Classic 350 will be the new 350cc, air-oil cooled motor that first debuted with Meteor 350. It is capable of generating 20.2 bhp of max power and 27 Nm of peak torque. It is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. As compared to current model, power output has increased by 1.1 bhp. However, torque output is down by 1 Nm. This is unlikely to make any major difference in real world riding conditions.
    Chassis has been updated, featuring a twin downtube spine frame. The current unit is a single downtube frame that uses engine as stressed member. Working together, the new engine and frame have achieved significant improvements in ride dynamics. Vibrations have also reduced dramatically, as already noted by Meteor 350 users.
    New RE C350 Arrives At Dealer Showroom
    Both front and rear tyres are now wider, as compared to that of existing model. Brake discs are larger; 300 mm at front and 270 mm at rear. The current model has 280 mm / 240 mm discs, respectively. Users will have the option to choose between single and dual-channel ABS.
    Just like the current model, new Classic 350 will be available in both single seat and dual-seat configuration. Both spoke and alloy wheel option will be available. New Classic 350 will continue to rival the likes of Honda H’Ness CB350, Jawa and Benelli Imperiale 400. More

    New Yamaha R15M Arrives In Showroom – Blue And Silver Colours

    It recently came to light that Yamaha will introduce a new top-spec trim of its entry-level sports bike YZF R15 in India. Also, a type approval document revealed a few key details about the upcoming Yamaha R15M.
    Not just the naming convention but the overall styling also seems to be inspired by the flagship Yamaha R1M. Earlier leaked images indicate that the upcoming iteration is expected to feature more premium components in comparison to the standard model.
    Slated to be christened R15M, this new variant has started arriving at authorized dealer showrooms in India. RevNitro has managed to get exclusive photos of the new Yamaha R15M in two colour options of Yamaha Blue and Silver.
    Updated Design
    Yamaha has been testing various prototypes in recent months of whom one of them is expected to be the new R15M. Going by recent images, the upcoming motorcycle dons similar faired clothing as its regular sibling but receives a few subtle yet notable styling variations. For instance, R15 gets a single projector LED headlamp instead of dual-beam headlights in the standard R15 upfront.

    The single projector headlight is flanked by sleek LED DRLs on both sides. Other design updates include use of different body panels. R15M gets the same tail section as the base trim, however, the former seems to receive larger air ducts.

    LED taillamp unit also appears to be redesigned. Additionally, it features a new front fairing and a larger windscreen. Overall, the front face is reminiscent of the larger R7. It will also get Bluetooth enabled features for phone calls and navigation.
    The exhaust muffler appears to be stubbier than the one in R15 and gets a metallic finish. Due to the revised exhaust setup, footpegs for the pillion also seem to be repositioned. Previous images have revealed that it will also wear a special livery inspired by MotoGP Edition with Monster Energy branding flashed across the front apron.

    Mechanical Updates
    It is not just glitter but also functionality that has been improved. The most critical update is the use of USD forks at front which improves the bike’s handling quite a few notches. The golden-coloured forks also enhance the bike’s sporty aesthetics. Also accentuating the motorcycle’s sporty appeal will be the blacked-out alloy rims. However, R15M remains dimensionally identical to the regular model.
    The type approval documents further revealed that R15 will be powered by the same 155cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine with VVA technology and paired with a six-speed gearbox. Surprisingly, this motor on R15M churns out close to 18 bhp (13.6 kW) of power which is a tad less than what is on offer with R15 V3 (13.7 kW). It will be interesting to see if there are any changes to its torque output.

    Based on what Bajaj MD, Rajiv Bajaj had recently said in an interview, Pulsar 250 could debut around Diwali. Rajiv had said “biggest Pulsar we have ever made”, which most probably indicates towards Pulsar 250. It is not yet certain if all Pulsar 250cc models will be revealed simultaneously.
    New Pulsar 250cc models have been spotted on road tests on multiple occasions. Latest snaps are that of the naked and semi-faired variant, which can be assumed to be called as NS250 and 250F respectively. These were spotted by Bunny Punia.
    Bajaj Pulsar NS250 design
    Just like earlier sightings, these new test mules can be seen wearing heavy camouflage. Still, some design and features are clearly evident. At the front, the bike gets projector headlamp, sleek dual LED DRLs, and a standard looking front fender. Overall, the front fascia has an aggressive look and feel.
    Take a look at the detailed video of the upcoming Pulsar 250cc motorcycles, testing on highway at speeds of over 120 kmph. The video is shot from inside of a car, which is also travelling along side the Pulsar 250cc motorcycles. At one point in the video, the camera shows the speedometer of the car, which is doing over 120 kmph. It is at this moment the Pulsar 250 test rider manages to accelerate away. Bajaj Pulsar 250cc top speed is not yet known, but the video shows that the Pulsar 250cc has enough grunt to perform overtaking manoeuvre at over 120 kmph speed.

    Talking about the side profile, some key features include a large, sculpted fuel tank with extensions, engine cowl, crash guard, stubby exhaust in metallic finish, exposed frame bits, slanted top frame, and split seats. At the rear, the bike has a short tail and dual tyre huggers.
    Bajaj Pulsar 250cc manages to accelerate away from a car which was already doing over 120 kmph.

    It is expected that Pulsar 250cc models will be based on an entirely new platform. This new platform will eventually be used to upgrade existing Pulsar motorcycles as well. Talking about the engine, this too can be an entirely new 250cc unit. It could be capable of generating 24 bhp of max power and 20 Nm of peak torque.
    There’s a strong possibility of a new engine, as it would work as a major differentiator against the existing 250cc products manufactured by Bajaj such as Dominar 250, KTM 250 Duke and Husqvarna twins. These motorcycles use a 248.77cc, liquid cooled motor that makes 27 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 23.5 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The engine used for Pulsar 250cc models is expected to be equipped with variable valve actuation (VVT).

    Pulsar NS250 gets standard telescopic front forks and swingarm-linked monoshock unit at the rear. The bike has disc brakes at both ends. Dual-channel ABS is expected to be offered as standard.
    Till date, most Pulsar models have emerged as popular choices in their respective class. Bajaj will be aiming to achieve something similar with Pulsar 250cc models. Being the flagship, Pulsar 250 is expected to get a range of features such as ride modes and connected tech. It will also be made available at a competitive price point.
    Upon launch, Pulsar 250cc models will take on respective offerings from Suzuki and Yamaha. In case of Pulsar NS250, the bike will rival the likes of Yamaha FZ25 and Suzuki Gixxer 250. It will also go up against KTM Duke 250 and sibling Dominar 250. More

    Globally, Yamaha utilizes the M suffix for performance oriented variants of its standard motorcycles. In the Indian market, Yamaha will soon launch the M version for R15 V3. With the name registered by the company, it has put all speculations to rest. Based on sightings of camouflaged test mules, a number of options were proposed earlier such as R2, R3 and R15 V4.
    Yamaha YZF R15M design and features
    One of the key updates for Yamaha YZF R15M is its single LED projector headlamp with sleek LED DRLs. The overall styling at the front looks familiar to that of R7. In comparison, standard R15 V3 utilizes twin-eye LED headlights. Other changes include subtle variations to body panels. The exhaust appears to be a stubbier unit and comes in metallic finish. At the rear, the LED tail lamp seems like a revised unit.
    Yamaha has showcased the upcoming R15M 155cc motorcycle to dealers at an exclusive event. New images reveal MotoGP theme, which significantly transforms the overall look and feel of the motorcycle. It remains to be seen if new colours will also be on offer for Yamaha YZF R15M. Existing R15 is offered in colour options of Metallic Red, Thunder Grey, Racing Blue and Dark Knight. Prices vary based on the colour selected.
    Functionally, R15M variant gets USD forks. It comes in golden finish, which enhances the bike’s sporty profile. It is to note that USD forks are already available for R15 V3 in international markets. Due to cost issues, it has not been introduced in Indian market. R15M variant will appeal to enthusiasts who had earlier expressed their wish to see R15 with USD forks.
    Yamaha R15M
    Another key update is revised instrument cluster and Bluetooth connectivity. Users can pair their mobile phones with the instrument console to access a range of connectivity features.

    Yamaha R15M variant will be using the same 155cc engine as that of standard R15 V3. The liquid cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, 4-valve motor on-board R15 is capable of generating 18.6 ps of max power at 10,000 rpm and 14.1 Nm of peak torque at 8,500 rpm. It is mated to a constant-mesh 6-speed gearbox.
    The bike has been equipped with a range of advanced features such as assist and slipper clutch and variable valves actuation (VVA). In terms of safety, R15 has been equipped with side stand engine cut-off switch. Although R15M variant has the same engine, the power output mentioned in Type Approval Certificate is slightly less. It is 13.5 kW (~ 18.35 ps), as per the certificate.
    As far as dimensional aspects are concerned, Yamaha R15M variant is exactly the same as standard R15 V3. Both bikes are 1,990 mm long, 725 mm wide and 1,135 mm tall. Wheelbase is 1,325 mm whereas ground clearance is 170 mm. With the updates, Yamaha R15M variant will be costlier in comparison to standard R15. The latter is available at a starting price of Rs 1.56 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). More
