      Aprilia RS 660 First Batch Arrives At India Plant – Launch Expected Soon

      Already on sale in several international markets, Aprilia RS 660 will soon be launched in India. Some units of the bike have been spotted recently. It is being speculated that they have reached the company’s facility in Baramati. Imported as CBUs, the unopened boxes clearly mention ‘Made in Italy’.
      Some units have also been unboxed and posing with one of them is Diego Graffi, Chairman CEO and MD, Piaggio Vehicles Private Limited. Along with RS 660, its naked sibling Tuono 660 will also be launched in India.
      As per an earlier leaked document, RS 660 will be available at a starting price of Rs 13.39 lakh. Tuono 660 will be slightly cheaper at Rs 13.09 lakh. We will have to wait for an official confirmation regarding the pricing and exact launch dates of these bikes.
      Aprilia RS 660 design and features
      Being imported as CBUs, Aprilia RS 660 can be expected to be largely the same as the international-spec model. As far as looks are concerned, RS 660 gets top marks for its design and styling and dominating road presence.

      This is definitely for folks who love to flaunt their rides. Some key features include three-element full LED headlight with integrated turn signals, trendy DRLs, visor, sculpted fuel tank, double fairing, stubby underbelly exhaust and elevated tail section.
      Aprilia RS 660 is available in sprightly colour options of Apex Black, Acid Gold and Lava Red. All three have golden coloured USD front forks and orange coloured alloy wheels. The bike offers a comfortable riding stance with an ergonomic triangulation of seat, foot pegs and semi-handlebar. The TFT instrument console displays a range of information, which ensures complete control at all times.
      Aprilia RS 660 engine and specs
      Powering Aprilia RS 660 is a 659 cc, parallel twin, four stroke, liquid-cooled motor. It is capable of generating 100 hp of max power at 10,500 rpm and 67 Nm of peak torque at 8,500 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox, integrated with Aprilia Quick Shift (AQS) up and down system.
      Suspension system comprises Kayaba upside down forks at the front and asymmetrical aluminium swingarm at the rear. Braking duties are performed by 320 mm double disc at the front and 220 mm single disc at the rear. The bike utilizes Brembo callipers at both ends. Dual-channel ABS with cornering function is offered as standard.
      To ensure racetrack level performance, the bike has been equipped with advanced APRC (Aprilia Performance Ride Control) system.       Mahindra, like all major automakers, has been planning to venture into electric mobility with passenger vehicles for quite some time now. Unfortunately, there have been numerous delays for some obvious reasons. Test mules of what appears to be the production-spec eKUV100 have been recently spotted.
      The electric car made its first appearance as a pre-production concept at last year’s AutoExpo. Since then, there have been no developments regarding eKUV100 until now, when the e-SUV has made its debut on the official website of Mahindra Electric. Hat tip to automotive enthusiast Devi V Prasad Reddy, for sharing the update.
      Exterior Styling
      It has been pitched as an entry-level EV for the masses in the Indian auto market. For most parts of it, the exterior styling of KUV100 Electric is in line with its IC engine-powered sibling except for the closed-off front grille due to absence of a radiator.
      The grille also offers improved aerodynamics and features small arrow-shaped inserts, six of which are finished in blue. The electric crossover gets two charging ports, one on each front fender. In addition, there are blue highlights on headlamps and taillamps.

      The front bumper houses a very wide air inlet which also gets a tow hook in case the car gets stuck somewhere. The number plate housing at the tailgate features a thick chrome plate at the top with interesting ‘+’ and ‘-’ signs on it. All other design elements are similar to the fossil-fueled KUV100. There are also some subtle styling differences spotted in the test mule in comparison to the concept showcased at AutoExpo last year.
      For example, the model at AutoExpo stood on alloy wheels with a different design which featured blue inserts on each of its spokes. Further, the charging flap wore Mahindra Electric (ME) badging while the C-pillar flaunted a unique triangular badge. The e-KUV100 in the picture is seen wrapped under a dark shade of blue. It is also seen wearing black body claddings over wheel arches and door panels.
      Specifications
      At the time of its display in the biennial auto event, Mahindra had disclosed some of its specifications. The eKUV100 concept was fitted with a 15.9kWh battery pack which sent power to a single electric motor mounted on the front axle. The resultant power output stands at 54 bhp (40kW) and 120 Nm of torque.
      This powertrain could return a range of 147 km on a single charge. These are very modest figures from every standard. The battery could be charged from zero to 100 percent in 5hr 45min using a regular AC charger (on the front right fender flap).
      Using a DC fast charger, 0-80 percent of the battery could be replenished within 55 minutes (on the front left fender flap). Mahindra had priced the EV crossover at Rs 8.25 lakh back then. At the time of its launch, it could be offered at a price of Rs 9-11 lakh (ex-showroom). More

      As per the latest info, the new-gen Royal Enfield Classic 350 will make its debut on August 31, 2021
      Numerous spy shots of the new generation Royal Enfield Classic 350 have been doing the rounds on the internet in recent times which suggest its launch might be around the corner. Test mules of the retro classic motorcycle have been spotted testing on the roads for a very long time which has revealed a few details.
      The latest set of spy pics have revealed another interesting feature about the upcoming new-gen Classic 350. The particular testing prototype was spotted tolling on curved, multi-spoke, dual-tone alloy wheels. These units are different from the one spotted in Signals Edition during a TVC shoot in Rajasthan a few weeks ago.
      Design
      Getting into the details, the new-gen Classic 350 retains its modern retro-style design of the outgoing models with signature elements such as a round halogen headlamp, teardrop-shaped fuel tank with rubber grips, tiger-eyed position lights, etc. The spring under the rider’s saddle in the current Classic is not present in the new model.

      The tail section gets a round taillamp held in a redesigned housing accompanied by round turn indicators in line with the old-school design philosophy. The circular rearview mirrors are embellished in chrome in this model. The seats also get a ribbed pattern. As mentioned earlier, most of the design of Classic 350 has been retained in the new model.
      Specs & Features
      The major update will be underneath as it gets an all-new J platform also underpinning Meteor 350. The new dual-cradle frame will be suspended on 35mm telescopic forks at front with a travel of 135mm and twin gas-charged shock absorbers with five-step preload adjustability and 80mm travel at rear. Braking duties will be handled by disc brakes on both wheels assisted by a dual-channel ABS as standard.
      It will be powered by the same 349cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that propels Meteor 350. This engine kicks out 20.2 bhp and 27 Nm of peak torque while paired with a new 5-speed gearbox. The motor is also known to produce much less vibration than its predecessor thanks to the use of a counter-balance shaft.
      The most impressive addition, though, has been the updated instrument cluster which now comes with a Tripper Navigation pod. Tripper Navigation provides turn-by-turn navigation when paired with the Royal Enfield App on the rider’s smartphone via Bluetooth. The console also features an analogue speedometer while the digital display could read out information from an odometer and fuel gauge. More

      Royal Enfield has plans to launch one new motorcycle every 4 months. In the past 9 months, they have launched Meteor 350, updated Himalayan and the updated 650 Twins. Now, they are getting ready to launch new gen Classic 350 (on 31st Aug), all new Hunter 350 and flagship 650cc cruiser.
      It is this 650cc cruiser that has now been spied. Though this is not the first time this motorcycle has been spied, this time it is seen with a new camouflage. Hat tip to automotive enthusiast Karthik G for sharing these spy shots via Rushlane Spylane.
      Royal Enfield 650 Cruiser is expected to be launched sometime next year. This new motorcycle will not only play a major role in enhancing sales, but also help RE with brand building – especially in global market.
      It was at the EICMA 2018 that RE had showcased the KX bobber design concept. Though that was a 800cc+ machine, the upcoming 650cc cruiser does take some design inspiration from that concept.
      Royal Enfield 650cc Cruiser
      Design Updates
      RE 650cc cruiser gets an almond shaped fuel tank, a low slung tail section, forward positioned foot pegs and rides on alloy wheels. Tyres will be tubeless. It gets USD forks in the front – a first for Royal Enfield. Braking is via disc brakes at the front and rear with dual channel ABS offered as standard.
      Low mounted silencers, lower ground clearance are also seen on the RE 650 Cruiser. True to its cruiser styling, the RE 650 along with its long wheelbase, will also sport a backrest for the pillion rider, as was seen on earlier test mules. However, this could not be a part of the standard features and may be offered as an accessory.
      Features on offer
      RE650 Cruiser will be one of the most feature-rich Royal Enfield motorcycle ever. As can be seen in the images above, it will get a large speedometer with digital display within. On the side will be tripper navigation pod, that RE has developed in association with Google.

      Engine specifications on the 650cc Cruiser would include the same 648 cc twin cylinder engine, which in its current format makes 47 hp power at 7,250 rpm and 57 Nm torque at 5,250 rpm mated to a 6 speed transmission. The RE 650 Cruiser will be the first bike in the company lineup to receive upside-down forks at the front while it could also get tripper navigation which is currently offered on the Meteor 350 and updated Himalayan. The same will also be on offer with the Classic 350 new gen.
      The 650cc Cruiser from Royal Enfield will be positioned above the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 in the company line up in India. It is slated to be priced from around Rs.3.5-4 lakhs. More

      Royal Enfield Hunter 350 Spied Again – New Look Front And Rear

      After successful launch of Meteor 350, Royal Enfield will soon be introducing another new product in 350cc segment. It could be launched as ‘Hunter’, a name that was earlier registered by the company.

      Hunter does continue using the signature retro styling that Royal Enfield motorcycles are known for. That’s evident in features such as circular headlamp, round rear view mirrors and tear drop fuel tank.
      However, the rest of the design is quite different from the current breed of Royal Enfield motorcycles. Hunter is relatively compact and has some unique features such as stubby exhaust, sleek seat design and short tail. Hunter also has a lower seat design as compared to exiting Royal Enfield motorcycles.
      As some of these design aspects are entirely new for a Royal Enfield motorcycle, it has led to speculations that Hunter could be targeted at female bikers. Things like lower seat height and compact design would certainly be advantageous for female users. As the community of female bikers is on the rise in the country, the possibility of Royal Enfield launching a dedicated product for them could not be entirely denied.

      To minimize development costs, Hunter will borrow key components from recently launched Meteor 350. It will have the new J series 349 cc, air-oil cooled motor that is capable of generating max power of 20.2 hp and peak toque of 27 Nm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. With an SOHC setup, the new engine is a lot smoother and responsive, as compared to its predecessor. Vibrations have also reduced significantly with the new engine.
      Hunter is expected to get Tripper navigation, a segment-first feature introduced with Meteor 350. It comprises a dedicated display screen that shows navigational directions for the destination. Tripper system works in combination with Royal Enfield app and Google Maps.
      Launch of Hunter and other new products is part of the company’s strategy to introduce a new model almost every three months for the next seven years. Royal Enfield dominates the 200cc – 500cc segment with a market share of more than 85%. These new models will help the company to maintain its supremacy and possibly boost sales even further.
      By expanding its product portfolio, Royal Enfield will be able to target a much larger customer base. It will also help the company to fend off competition from new products launched by rival two-wheeler manufacturers such as Honda, Jawa, and Benelli. With the cult-like following for its motorcycles, coupled with an extended range of new products and next-gen models, Royal Enfield is at an advantageous position to dominate this decade.

      Sub 200cc Kawasaki Motorcycle Spied In Pune – Launch Expected This Year

      Late last year, it was reported that Kawasaki will be bringing a new entry-level motorcycle to India in the form of W175. A few weeks later, test mules of the retro-style classic motorcycle were spotted testing on the country roads. Since then, there has been no development regarding the launch of W175.
      However, a testing prototype of W175 fully wrapped under camouflage got caught on camera in Pune. Hat tip to automotive enthusiast Navin Sanil for sharing these spy shots. From the looks of it, the bike appeared to be an almost production-ready prototype with all its traditional design elements.
      Retro Styling
      Speaking of its design, the sub 200cc Kawasaki motorcycle carries a modern approach to retro styling with notable highlights such as round headlamps, teardrop-shaped fuel tank, single-piece seat with a ribbed pattern, wire-spoked wheels, a single-pod round instrument cluster and circular rearview mirrors. The side-on exhaust with a thin nozzle-head muffler must produce a lovely throaty note.
      The handlebar, seat and footpegs put the rider in a natural position, contributing to rider comfort and making W175 ideal for a wide range of riding conditions. It is offered with a conventional round analogue instrument cluster with a “W” emblem inside.
      Kawasaki W15 Spied In Pune
      The console reads out information from the trip meter, speedometer and odometer. At rear, it features a squared-off taillight with similar round turn indicators as spotted in front.
      Engine and other mechanical parts such as swingarm, suspension setup, leg guard and exhaust have been painted in black which lends the bike a sporty appeal. Also giving it a retro vibe are fork gaiters in the front suspension unit. The India-spec model also gets a conventional single-piece grab rail which is not offered in the model retailed in international markets.
      Mechanical Specs
      The bike is powered by a 177cc air-Cooled, single-cylinder engine that kicks out 13.05 bhp at 7500rpm and a peak torque of 13.2 Nm at 6000rpm and is paired with a 5-speed gearbox. While output figures are very modest, a low kerb weight of just 126 kilos should offer a decent enough performance. Hardware comprises telescopic forks at front and twin gas-charged shock absorbers at rear.
      Kawasaki W15 Spied In Pune
      Braking duties are handled by a single front disc and rear drum brake. If and when launched in India, W175 is expected to be more than 90 percent localised which will help the Japanese bikemaker price it aggressively.       After introducing new colour schemes across the Pulsar range of motorcycles, Bajaj Auto has now decided to update its quarter-litre tourer with some new shades. The bikemaker has launched three new colour options to Dominar 250 to make it more attractive. All the new colour options are offered as dual-tone paint schemes.
      New Colour Options on Dominar 250
      From the look of the leaked images, these new colours look like shades of Orange, Yellow and Black. But they have specific names in Bajaj speak. These include Citrus Rush and Matte Silver; Sparkling Black and Matte Silver; and Racing Red and Matte Silver.
      The new colour options join the existing options namely Charcoal Black and Canyon Red. Sales have been particularly slow for Dominar 250 in recent months which is why Bajaj has introduced these new colour options to the lineup to grab the attention of bike enthusiasts.
      This comes almost a month later after the Chakan-based two-wheeler manufacturer decreased prices of the quarter-litre touring motorcycle by up to Rs 17k. The new prices of the bike start at Rs 1.54 lakh instead of the earlier 1.71 lakh (both prices ex-showroom).

      More Details
      Noticeably all these three colour options offer white-coloured alloy wheels in a similar fashion to Pulsar NS 160, NS 200 and RS 200. Further, design of the alloy wheels remains identical to the existing finish in the quarter-litre motorcycle. These alloy wheel designs were also carried forward to the recently introduced Pulsar NS125.
      In addition, the matte silver paint is found common to all three colour options introduced in Dominar 250. Matte silver paint acts as the base colour whereas the contrast accents are subjected to the shades chosen.
      The contrasting shades of red, black or fluorescent green are found painted on the alloy wheel rims, engine cowl, front and rear fender, headlamp cowl and fuel tank. Prices of the updated Dominar 250 wrapped in these new paint schemes have not been declared. However, we expect a slight increase in prices just as the Dagger Edge Edition of Pulsar range.

      Same Specs
      No changes to specifications or features have been made in this new iteration of Dominar 250. It is powered by a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC, four-valve engine that pumps out 26.6 bhp at 8,500rpm and a peak torque of 23.5Nm at 6,500rpm. This unit is paired with a six-speed gearbox and features a slipper clutch system.
      Hardware configuration comprises upside-down telescopic forks at and a mono-shock at rear. Anchoring duties are handled by disc brakes on both wheels assisted by a dual-channel ABS. More

      2022 KTM RC 125 Specs Leak – More Power, Less Weight, 13.7 L Tank

      KTM is in the process of updating almost its entire lineup. The lineup overhaul is expected to begin with the RC range of models including RC 125, RC 200, RC 390. Recently, all three new generation models made a brief appearance at the official website of KTM but were removed soon afterwards.
      Apart from photos, official specs of the 2022 RC125 have also been leaked. Hat tip to Yadu Krishnan for sharing the same. The new-gen RC models will feature a long list of updates. The most prominent updates are centred around their design which feature some serious upgrades.

      Updated Design
      Speaking of design, all three upcoming 2022 KTM RC bikes share a lot in common as far as styling is concerned. The new-gen supersport motorcycles have made a departure from the twin-beam headlights and now feature a single-piece headlight flanked by trendy boomerang-shaped LED DRLs on both sides which double up as turn indicators. All three models receive a completely redesigned front end including larger fairings and new body panels as compared to their outgoing counterparts.
      Also, the 10-spoke alloy wheels have made way for a new 5-spoke design. KTM says that these new alloy design helps in saving 3.4 kgs of rotating unsprung mass. Other common styling elements include a muscular fuel tank, which is now larger in size at 13.7 liters.

      However, there are some design attributes that distinguish RC 390 from RC 125 and RC 200. For instance, RC 200 continues to feature an underbelly exhaust just like the current gen. RC 125 and RC 390 get side mounted exhaust, but they are not same.
      In addition, all three models feature distinct colour options. The new RC 390 wears an orange-blue paint scheme inspired by KTM’s MotoGP race bike. RC 125 and RC 200 gets a new dual-tone white and orange colour with signature orange alloy wheels. RC 125 also gets the option of a new dual-tone black/orange scheme.
      Mechanical Updates
      All three models have also undergone structural changes which make them more similar to each other. The new-gen RC range of models features an updated chassis comprising a new bolt-on rear subframe instead of a welded-on design of current models. The weight reduction due to new frame is 1.5 kgs, compared to current RC gen.
      2022 KTM RC 125 Alloys
      Suspension duties are handled by USD forks at front and a mono-shock unit at rear embraced by an alloy swingarm. These are factory tuned to deliver better track performance. Cooling system has also been improved, thanks to larger airbox – resulting in ultra-slick throttle response.
      Engine Specs
      Engine of the motorcycles will be carried over from the current =-gen models. RC 390 will be powered by a 373cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that dishes out 44 bhp and 35 Nm of peak torque. RC 200 will be propelled by the same 199.5cc liquid-cooled mill that pushes out 25 hp and 19.2 Nm of torque.
      The entry-level RC 125 will feature a 124.7cc single-cylinder unit capable of 14.5 bhp and 12 Nm of peak torque. New specs are not yet available, but the official website leak states that the engines will deliver more power and torque. All motorcycles will be offered with a 6-speed transmission. Production of all three supersport bikes have reportedly begun at Bajaj Auto’s Chakan-based manufacturing facility. More
