    New Yamaha R15M Arrives In Showroom – Blue And Silver Colours

    It recently came to light that Yamaha will introduce a new top-spec trim of its entry-level sports bike YZF R15 in India. Also, a type approval document revealed a few key details about the upcoming Yamaha R15M.
    Not just the naming convention but the overall styling also seems to be inspired by the flagship Yamaha R1M. Earlier leaked images indicate that the upcoming iteration is expected to feature more premium components in comparison to the standard model.
    Slated to be christened R15M, this new variant has started arriving at authorized dealer showrooms in India. RevNitro has managed to get exclusive photos of the new Yamaha R15M in two colour options of Yamaha Blue and Silver.
    Updated Design
    Yamaha has been testing various prototypes in recent months of whom one of them is expected to be the new R15M. Going by recent images, the upcoming motorcycle dons similar faired clothing as its regular sibling but receives a few subtle yet notable styling variations. For instance, R15 gets a single projector LED headlamp instead of dual-beam headlights in the standard R15 upfront.

    The single projector headlight is flanked by sleek LED DRLs on both sides. Other design updates include use of different body panels. R15M gets the same tail section as the base trim, however, the former seems to receive larger air ducts.

    LED taillamp unit also appears to be redesigned. Additionally, it features a new front fairing and a larger windscreen. Overall, the front face is reminiscent of the larger R7. It will also get Bluetooth enabled features for phone calls and navigation.
    The exhaust muffler appears to be stubbier than the one in R15 and gets a metallic finish. Due to the revised exhaust setup, footpegs for the pillion also seem to be repositioned. Previous images have revealed that it will also wear a special livery inspired by MotoGP Edition with Monster Energy branding flashed across the front apron.

    Mechanical Updates
    It is not just glitter but also functionality that has been improved. The most critical update is the use of USD forks at front which improves the bike’s handling quite a few notches. The golden-coloured forks also enhance the bike’s sporty aesthetics. Also accentuating the motorcycle’s sporty appeal will be the blacked-out alloy rims. However, R15M remains dimensionally identical to the regular model.
    The type approval documents further revealed that R15 will be powered by the same 155cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine with VVA technology and paired with a six-speed gearbox. Surprisingly, this motor on R15M churns out close to 18 bhp (13.6 kW) of power which is a tad less than what is on offer with R15 V3 (13.7 kW). It will be interesting to see if there are any changes to its torque output.

    Upcoming Bajaj Pulsar 250cc Spied Testing At Over 120 Kmph

    Based on what Bajaj MD, Rajiv Bajaj had recently said in an interview, Pulsar 250 could debut around Diwali. Rajiv had said “biggest Pulsar we have ever made”, which most probably indicates towards Pulsar 250. It is not yet certain if all Pulsar 250cc models will be revealed simultaneously.
    New Pulsar 250cc models have been spotted on road tests on multiple occasions. Latest snaps are that of the naked and semi-faired variant, which can be assumed to be called as NS250 and 250F respectively. These were spotted by Bunny Punia.

    Just like earlier sightings, these new test mules can be seen wearing heavy camouflage. Still, some design and features are clearly evident. At the front, the bike gets projector headlamp, sleek dual LED DRLs, and a standard looking front fender. Overall, the front fascia has an aggressive look and feel.
    Take a look at the detailed video of the upcoming Pulsar 250cc motorcycles, testing on highway at speeds of over 120 kmph. The video is shot from inside of a car, which is also travelling along side the Pulsar 250cc motorcycles. At one point in the video, the camera shows the speedometer of the car, which is doing over 120 kmph. It is at this moment the Pulsar 250 test rider manages to accelerate away. Bajaj Pulsar 250cc top speed is not yet known, but the video shows that the Pulsar 250cc has enough grunt to perform overtaking manoeuvre at over 120 kmph speed.

    Talking about the side profile, some key features include a large, sculpted fuel tank with extensions, engine cowl, crash guard, stubby exhaust in metallic finish, exposed frame bits, slanted top frame, and split seats. At the rear, the bike has a short tail and dual tyre huggers.

    It is expected that Pulsar 250cc models will be based on an entirely new platform. This new platform will eventually be used to upgrade existing Pulsar motorcycles as well. Talking about the engine, this too can be an entirely new 250cc unit. It could be capable of generating 24 bhp of max power and 20 Nm of peak torque.
    There’s a strong possibility of a new engine, as it would work as a major differentiator against the existing 250cc products manufactured by Bajaj such as Dominar 250, KTM 250 Duke and Husqvarna twins. These motorcycles use a 248.77cc, liquid cooled motor that makes 27 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 23.5 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The engine used for Pulsar 250cc models is expected to be equipped with variable valve actuation (VVT).

    Pulsar NS250 gets standard telescopic front forks and swingarm-linked monoshock unit at the rear. The bike has disc brakes at both ends. Dual-channel ABS is expected to be offered as standard.
    Till date, most Pulsar models have emerged as popular choices in their respective class. Bajaj will be aiming to achieve something similar with Pulsar 250cc models. Being the flagship, Pulsar 250 is expected to get a range of features such as ride modes and connected tech. It will also be made available at a competitive price point.
    Upon launch, Pulsar 250cc models will take on respective offerings from Suzuki and Yamaha. In case of Pulsar NS250, the bike will rival the likes of Yamaha FZ25 and Suzuki Gixxer 250. It will also go up against KTM Duke 250 and sibling Dominar 250. More

    2021 Yamaha R15M Showcased To Dealers – First Undisguised Photos

    Globally, Yamaha utilizes the M suffix for performance oriented variants of its standard motorcycles. In the Indian market, Yamaha will soon launch the M version for R15 V3. With the name registered by the company, it has put all speculations to rest. Based on sightings of camouflaged test mules, a number of options were proposed earlier such as R2, R3 and R15 V4.

    One of the key updates for Yamaha YZF R15M is its single LED projector headlamp with sleek LED DRLs. The overall styling at the front looks familiar to that of R7. In comparison, standard R15 V3 utilizes twin-eye LED headlights. Other changes include subtle variations to body panels. The exhaust appears to be a stubbier unit and comes in metallic finish. At the rear, the LED tail lamp seems like a revised unit.
    Yamaha has showcased the upcoming R15M 155cc motorcycle to dealers at an exclusive event. New images reveal MotoGP theme, which significantly transforms the overall look and feel of the motorcycle. It remains to be seen if new colours will also be on offer for Yamaha YZF R15M. Existing R15 is offered in colour options of Metallic Red, Thunder Grey, Racing Blue and Dark Knight. Prices vary based on the colour selected.
    Functionally, R15M variant gets USD forks. It comes in golden finish, which enhances the bike’s sporty profile. It is to note that USD forks are already available for R15 V3 in international markets. Due to cost issues, it has not been introduced in Indian market. R15M variant will appeal to enthusiasts who had earlier expressed their wish to see R15 with USD forks.

    Another key update is revised instrument cluster and Bluetooth connectivity. Users can pair their mobile phones with the instrument console to access a range of connectivity features.

    Yamaha R15M variant will be using the same 155cc engine as that of standard R15 V3. The liquid cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, 4-valve motor on-board R15 is capable of generating 18.6 ps of max power at 10,000 rpm and 14.1 Nm of peak torque at 8,500 rpm. It is mated to a constant-mesh 6-speed gearbox.
    The bike has been equipped with a range of advanced features such as assist and slipper clutch and variable valves actuation (VVA). In terms of safety, R15 has been equipped with side stand engine cut-off switch. Although R15M variant has the same engine, the power output mentioned in Type Approval Certificate is slightly less. It is 13.5 kW (~ 18.35 ps), as per the certificate.
    As far as dimensional aspects are concerned, Yamaha R15M variant is exactly the same as standard R15 V3. Both bikes are 1,990 mm long, 725 mm wide and 1,135 mm tall. Wheelbase is 1,325 mm whereas ground clearance is 170 mm. With the updates, Yamaha R15M variant will be costlier in comparison to standard R15.     New Tata Tigor Electric Sedan Spied Undisguised – Up To 350 Kms Range

    The coming days will see launch of the second electric vehicle from Tata Motors for the passenger car market. 2021 Tata Tigor EV bookings have officially opened. Ahead of launch on 31st August, the New Tata Tigor Electric Sedan has started arriving at dealerships, where it has now been spied undisguised.     Tata Motors’ Ziptron technology
    2021 Tigor EV will get Tata Motors’ Ziptron technology, which is also seen in the case of the Nexon EV. Ziptron technology offers a permanent magnet AC motor paired with a lithium-ion battery. This battery pack is both dust and waterproof and complies with IP67 standards.
    The Ziptron based Tigor will receive a 300V permanent magnet electric motor which is an upgrade as compared to the 72 V AC induction motor seen on its earlier counterpart. Tata Motors confirms that this technology would relate to a longer driving range of over 300 kms or even close to 350 kms, but these figures have not been confirmed as on date.
    The leaked photo shows instrument cluster with over 200 kms range with 59% battery charge left. At this rate, for a full 100% charge, the instrument cluster could show close to 350 kms range for the new Tata Tigor electric car.

    The Tigor EV receive alloy wheels with blue accents, LED DRLs mounted on its front bumper and similar designs for headlamp and grille as seen on the Nexon EV. The bumper will sport a tri-arrow pattern as is common on Tata vehicles.
    Given the fact that it receives some feature updates and an extended range would mean that pricing could also be increased over its earlier counterpart. However, the Tata Tigor EV would also take advantage of revisions in the FAME II scheme which along with state government subsidies could put in a highly affordable price range.
    Tata Fast Charging Capabilities
    As is seen in the case of Nexon, 2021 Tata Tigor EV would also support fast charging capabilities for added convenience. To put this into perspective, with Ziptron technology, the Nexon EV can be charged from 0 to 80 percent in just 60 minutes and upto 7-8 hours via a home charger which is also what is expected on the Tigor EV.

    Earlier this year, Tata Motors had also introduced the XPres-T, a variant of Tigor EV for commercial / fleet segment. It is presented in two variants of XM+ and XT+ and priced at Rs 9.75 lakh and Rs 9.90 lakh respectively.
    Xpress-T uses a 72V motor with a 21.5 kWh battery pack which along with Ziptron technology, takes power and range up significantly. Earlier last month, the model was open for bookings and deliveries commenced with the first batch rolling being delivered to Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Ltd., Kolkata.

    Tesla Model Y Electric SUV Spied Testing In India Undisguised

    The electric vehicle (EV) space has been gradually but surely gathering steam in India. There has been a lot of buzz regarding the launch of EVs from Tesla Inc. ever since company CEO Elon Musk announced that it would officially enter the Indian market at some point later this year.
    Earlier this year, the American EV manufacturer registered in India as Tesla India Motors And Energy Private Limited with its headquarters in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The company has also decided to set up shop in three big metro cities initially- Mumbai, New Delhi and Bengaluru.
    Spy shots of the brand’s entry-level electric car- Model 3 has already been spotted testing on Indian roads on multiple occasions in the past few months. Now, an undisguised testing prototype of Model Y has been spotted on the country roads. As seen in the images below, the test mule of Model Y was seen wearing a blue colour scheme similar to Model 3 prototypes spotted earlier.
    Exterior Styling
    Model Y is based on the same platform as Model 3. While the latter gets a compact sedan body style, the former is a typical compact coupe-style SUV. From the outset, Model Y looks like a jacked-up version of Model 3 with plenty of similarities in design. The front end of both cars is very similar with the same set of angular LED headlights, integrated DRLs and nose.

    The front bumper of Model Y is a bit flatter and sportier than that seen in Model 3 which is sleeker. As usual, the lower bumper features fog lamps and air intake vents. The side profile of Model Y gets the same creases as well as alloy wheels. Like Model 3, Model Y also gets a tinted black glass roof.
    Features & Performance
    Inside the cabin, Model Y flaunts a minimalistic interior with a simple dashboard and centre console minus all complications. The highlight, however, is a large 15-inch touchscreen infotainment display that incorporates controls for all features.
    Other notable features include electric adjustable front seats, heated front and rear seats, a high-quality 14-speaker sound system, HEPA air filtration system and more. Interestingly, Tesla offers Model Y in a 5-seat as well as a 7-seat configuration if one is willing to forego the car’s luggage space.
    The car features a dual-motor setup with a motor on each axle making it an AWD car. It can reach a top speed of 217 kmph while a 0-96 kmph acceleration is rated at just 4.8 seconds. The high autonomy battery pack returns a range of almost 525 km on a single charge.

    New Motorcycle Spied In Pune – Royal Enfield Rival From Jawa, BSA Or Bajaj Triumph?

    In a turn of events that has sparked wide speculations, a new retro styled motorcycle has been spotted on road tests. Most likely it is Triumph’s first-ever single-cylinder model that is being manufactured in India in partnership with Bajaj. However, it is also possible that the bike could be 650cc single-cylinder BSA. Being developed by Mahindra-owned Classic Legends, BSA motorcycles will primarily target UK and other European markets.

    It has been reported earlier that Triumph Motorcycles is manufacturing their 400-700cc capacity bikes in India. There are some definitive clues that this heavily camouflaged retro-styled bike could be the new single-cylinder Triumph. One important piece of evidence is the crankcase design, which appears to be similar to that of other Triumph motorcycles.
    Other things like wide seat design, prominent fuel tank and side panel point out towards the Triumph DNA. Moreover, the Bonneville look and feel can be seen in components such as handlebar, use of spoke wheels, larger front wheels and smaller rear wheels, fork gators and chain drive on the right side. The tyres appear to be Pirelli units, which have been seen with other Bonneville motorcycles.
    However, most features appear to have undergone a certain level of evolution in comparison to Bonneville range. It suggests that this could also be an entirely new product from Triumph. The bike is likely to be powered by a 350-400cc engine, generating around 35-40 BHP and 30-35 Nm. It could get a 6-speed gearbox. The bike will be a world-class product, just like KTM and Husqvarna. It will be offered in both domestic and international markets.

    As it will be competing against Royal Enfield motorcycles, Triumph’s new single-cylinder bike is expected to deliver a throaty aural experience. This bike is expected to debut sometime next year.

    After successfully resurrecting Jawa, Classic Legends is working on its other projects that include Yezdi and BSA. The company had bought global rights for the iconic BSA brand in 2016. What we know so far is that the BSA motorcycle will utilize a 650cc single-cylinder motor.
    It is possible that the new retro-styled motorcycle spotted on road tests could actually be BSA. Its retro styling does look familiar to BSA motorcycles that were in production several decades earlier.

    BSA 650cc motorcycle will be assembled in UK. It will be positioned as a premium product in comparison to Royal Enfield 650 twins and upcoming Royal Enfield 650cc motorcycles. In addition to the standard roadster, other versions of BSA 650cc could also be launched. It could include a scrambler, cafe racer and cruiser.
    BSA will initially target customers in UK, where the brand has a strong recall. Other European markets will be covered later. BSA India launch is unlikely due to premium pricing and legal tangles.

    New Bajaj Pulsar 250 Launch In Nov 2021 – Confirms Rajiv Bajaj

    Pulsar brand of motorcycles have been one of the biggest contributor to Bajaj’s success in the Indian motorcycle market in the last two decades. Over the years, there have been many iterations of the bike depending on engine configurations and body styles. The bikemaker has already made its intentions clear of expanding this range of motorcycles by introducing new models into the market.
    The next big launch from Bajaj which will wear the ‘Pulsar’ moniker will most likely be Pulsar 250. In an interview with CNBC TV18, Bajaj MD, Rajiv Bajaj has revealed that they will be launching the biggest Pulsar motorcycle till date in November this year.
    November 2021 is when Pulsar brand will also celebrate its 20th anniversary. What better timing, to launch the biggest, most powerful Pulsar yet. Though Rajiv Bajaj did not reveal that it is the Pulsar 250, he did confirm “biggest Pulsar we have ever made.” Bajaj MD also confirmed that it will be based on an all new platform, which will then make its way down to all the other Pulsar range over the next 12 months.

    Bajaj Pulsar 250 is expected to be on offer in three variants. One will be naked or NS250, the other will be fully faired RS250 and the third is expected to be semi-faired 250F. These names are not yet confirmed. All three motorcycles have been spied testing in the past few weeks.

    A digitally rendered image of the upcoming Pulsar 250 previews a possible production-spec design. The digitally imagined Pulsar 250, on its first glance, looks like a confluence on Pulsar NS200 and Dominar 250. For instance, the LED headlight cluster seems to have been inspired by Dominar 250 while split seats, split pillion grab rails, rear cowl and alloy wheels look uncannily similar to Pulsar NS200.
    The designer has also incorporated a Pulsar branding on the fuel tank and also a lovely decal on its extensions reading ‘250’. It also features a freshly designed side-mounted exhaust setup which is short and upswept. The blue colour with white highlights give the motorcycle a nice and pleasant look. Its suspension setup consists of conventional telescopic forks at front and a monoshock at rear as seen in the recently spotted test mule.
    Expected Powertrain & Features
    This rendered design also gets a large radiator for the liquid-cooling system that wasn’t present in the test prototype. There is still a lot of ambiguity regarding its powertrain. Some are suggesting that Bajaj will introduce a brand new 250cc single-cylinder oil-cooled engine that will be good enough for 24 bhp and 20 Nm of peak torque.
    Whereas, there is another school of thought which believes that the manufacturer will utilise the already existing 248.77cc single-cylinder, DOHC, liquid-cooled motor which powers Dominar 250 and corresponding KTM Duke and Huskies. This unit spits out 27 bhp at 8,500rpm and a peak torque 23.5 Nm at 6,500rpm. It will be interesting to see which one does Bajaj opt for. In either case, it is expected to be paired to a six-speed gearbox probably with a slipper clutch.
    In terms of features it is expected to be offered with single disc brakes on both ends complemented by a dual-channel ABS as standard. It is also likely to come with a fully digital console with smartphone connectivity and multiple riding modes. More details are likely to head out way in the coming weeks.

    Upcoming Royal Enfield 650cc Cruiser Exhaust Note – New Spy Video

    Royal Enfield has been testing multiple new prototypes of upcoming models for the near future
    Royal Enfield currently has many test models on-field since it has a whole new lineup to be launched in the coming few months. While the launch cycle has been affected slightly due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the bikemaker has intensified its testing process of all its upcoming models in recent times.
    The 650cc cruiser from Royal Enfield is one such motorcycle that has been frequently spotted over the last few months. Apparently, multiple iterations of this bike are in development, however, the test mule spotted recently was that of a traditional cruiser. New spy video credit to automotive enthusiast Karthik G, captures the bike’s exhaust note.
    While earlier spy shots of the 650cc cruiser wore production-ready body panels, the recent prototype spied wore heavy camouflage with panels that don’t appear to be closer to production. This indicates that the motorcycle might have undergone some changes in its design.
    RE 650 Cruiser Styling?
    As mentioned previously, the overall design draws inspiration from the KX Bobber Concept which made its appearance at the EICMA 2018. Therefore, it receives a low stance of a traditional cruiser with forward set footpegs, a wide handlebar and a low seat which contribute to relaxed riding ergonomics. Other retro-style highlights include a circular headlamp, teardrop-shaped fuel tank and circular rearview mirrors.

    The twin exhaust pipes release a very muffled note which is evident in almost every B6 emission Royal Enfield bike. Alloy wheels along with disc brakes on both ends is a given for this segment of motorcycles.
    On taking a closer look at its front end, we can notice a large circular dial in its instrument console accompanied by a small dial which is most likely to be the display for Tripper Navigation.
    Specifications
    The upcoming Royal Enfield 650 cruiser will be powered by a 648cc parallel-twin air-cooled motor that pumps out 47 bhp and 52 Nm of peak torque when paired with a six-speed gearbox. The architecture will be suspended on upside-down USD forks at front and twin shock absorbers at rear which are mounted at a greater angle than what is seen on 650 Twins.
    650cc Cruiser from Royal Enfield will be positioned above the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 in the company line up in India. It is slated to be launched sometime next year and is likely to be priced around Rs 3.5-4 lakh; a premium over the current 650 twins. More
