    Despite being well-equipped and capable, Dominar 400 hasn’t been attracting a larger number of buyers in recent times which is why Bajaj has planned to give the bike an update. It recently came to light that Bajaj is planning to launch an updated iteration of Dominar 400 in the near future.
    The facelifted version of the tourer is expected to primarily incorporate cosmetic updates as well as maybe a few feature additions. That said, underneath its skin, the motorcycle will remain identical to the current model on sale. The motorcycle has started to arrive at dealer showroom. Launch is expected in coming days.     New Bajaj Dominar 400 – Company fitted accessories
    Earlier this year, an undisguised prototype of Dominar 400 wearing an Aurora Green colour trim was spied sporting a new flyscreen and knuckle guards. It is this same model which has now been spied at a dealership, but in a different colour. Current Dominar 400 is available in Green and Black.
    In terms of styling, the current Dominar 400 flaunts a muscular fuel tank with extensions, a double-barrel exhaust, split-style seats and a raised handlebar. The motorcycle rolls on 17-inch alloy wheels. It contains company fitted mobile holder with charger placed above console.

    On the feature front, Dominar 400 is laced with a data-intensive fully-digital instrument cluster, all-LED illumination and a 13-litre fuel tank capacity. In its upcoming iteration, the motorcycle could benefit from a dedicated connectivity technology.
    While Dominar 400 is a proven tourer on highways due to its ease of riding and ergonomics, its heavier front end with a kerb weight of 187 kilos makes it a cumbersome motorcycle to ride in city commutes, especially in tight traffic conditions.
    Hardware, Engine Specs
    Most probably, the new 2022 Dominar 400 will sit on the same perimeter tube frame. This frame will be suspended on 43mm inverted forks at front and a multi-step adjustable mono-shock unit at rear. Braking hardware comprises a 320mm disc up front and a 230mm disc at rear which are assisted by a dual-channel ABS as standard.
    The upcoming Dominar 400 will continue to draw its power from the same 373.27cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine which generates 40hp of power at 8,800rpm and 35Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm 373.27cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine which pushes out 40 bhp at 8,800rpm and 35 Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm.     Royal Enfield Hunter 350cc Spied Testing – To Rival Yezdi Roadking

    Needless to say but Royal Enfield has a lot on its plate currently. The company is striving very hard to stay focussed on its earlier commitment of four launches every year despite the ongoing Covid-19 crisis. Hence, every now and then, one comes across numerous spy shots of various test mules of different models conducting trial testings.
    One of the upcoming motorcycles from Royal Enfield spotted on numerous occasions in recent past is the roadster based on Meteor 350. This motorcycle has been tentatively titled Hunter 350. Another set of spy shots of the classic roadster have surfaced, courtesy auto enthusiast Arjunan Babu.
    Royal Enfield Hunter 350cc – Design
    As witnessed earlier, Hunter carries a classic retro-style design with signature styling highlights such as a round headlamp, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, a single-piece seat and a short rear section. The bike rides on 17-inch blacked-out alloy wheels. The tail section gets split grab rails and a short circular fender along with a round turn taillight with turn indicators.
    Further, an all-black theme gives the bike a sporty appeal. Parts like its handlebar, alloy wheels, engine casing, exhaust pipe and suspension setup have all been dipped in black paint with a matte finish.

    Other notable highlights include a shortened upswept exhaust muffler, redesigned side panels, circular rearview mirrors, fork gaiters and wide tyres. The footpegs are placed towards the centre which should provide a comfortable riding posture thanks to the wide and tall handlebar.
    Hunter should get an instrument console which is similar to Meteor 350 consisting of two circular pods- an analogue speedometer and a Tripper Navigation pod. Powered by Google Maps and Royal Enfield App, Tripper provides turn-by-turn navigation on the console when paired to one’s smartphone via Bluetooth. The analogue pod contains a digital display which should read information from the odometer and fuel gauge.
    Mechanical Specs
    Hunter will be based on the J1D platform which currently underpins Meteor 350, however, unlike the cruiser, the roadster will be tad sportier in essence. Suspension duties will be handled by 35 mm telescopic forks at front and twin gas-charged shocks at rear. Braking duties will be carried out by single disc brakes on both wheels assisted by a dual-channel ABS.
    The upcoming roadster will be powered by a 349cc single-cylinder air-cooled OHC engine that can dish out 20.2 bhp and 27 Nm of peak torque. This unit will be coupled with a 5-speed gearbox and is more refined than the previous generation 350cc engine thanks to a counter-balance shaft.     New Bajaj Pulsar 250cc Motorcycles Spied Together – Launch Next Month

    Pulsar range has remained a bestseller for Bajaj Auto since several years. It currently has bikes from 125cc to 220cc. Pulsar range motorcycles are popular for their dynamic performance and affordability. As market trends indicate a growing interest in 250cc segment, Bajaj will soon extend Pulsar range to cater to this space.
    Bajaj already has Dominar 250 and same capacity bikes from KTM and Husqvarna. However, considering the wide popularity of Pulsar nameplate, it has a better chance at raking in desired sales numbers. For maximum reach, Bajaj is getting ready to launch two versions of Pulsar 250. Their MD has already announced that launch will take place next month, in Nov 2021 – which is when the Pulsar brand also celebrates its 20th anniversary.
    It includes naked and semi-faired models of Pulsar 250. Going by the company’s current naming convention, these could be called NS250, and 250F respectively. However, we will have to wait for an official confirmation on this. Latest spy images are credit to automotive enthusiast Narinder Tandon, who spotted these Pulsar 250cc motorcycles on Dehu Road, just outside of Pune.
    Pulsar NS250 and 250F
    NS250 has a sporty profile with an aggressive front fascia. The bike gets single LED projector headlamp flanked by eye-shaped sleek LED DRLs. Overall styling seems comparable to 250cc offerings from the likes of Yamaha and Suzuki. At the side, fuel tank is seamlessly integrated with tank shrouds. Air scoops on the fairing are also evident, which could be a way to improve the bike’s aerodynamics.
    New Bajaj Pulsar 250F
    Apart from the tank shrouds, no other form of panelling can be seen on Pulsar NS250. Other key features include engine protector, split seat design, elevated tail section, alloy wheels, rear tyre hugger, and stubby exhaust. The bike has a fairly comfortable riding stance, which makes it suitable for everyday commutes.
    Coming to Pulsar 250F, the only major difference can be seen in the fairing. The front fairing is an integrated unit comprising the headlamp cowl, windscreen and tank shrouds.
    This translates into a beefier look and feel for the bike. The windscreen should be able to provide better wind protection. Some panels can be seen on sides that cover part of the engine assembly. Most other features including riding stance are largely the same as NS250.
    New Bajaj Pulsar 250NS
    Pulsar RS250
    Though not yet spied testing, Bajaj is also expected to launch a fully faired version of the 250cc Pulsar. Bajaj has done a wonderful job with RS200, the only fully-faired Pulsar currently on offer. Expect things to get even better with RS250. Overall styling and fairing are expected to be entirely new. Pulsar RS250 will compete with the likes of Yamaha Fazer 25 and Suzuki Gixxer SF 250.
    All three Pulsar 250cc bikes will share the same engine and most other hardware. They are expected to get an entirely new 250cc motor. It will be different from the existing unit used with KTM 250 Duke, Dominar 250 and Husqvarna twins.
    The new engine could be generating max power of 24 bhp and peak torque of 20 Nm. It could get new features such as slipper clutch and variable valve actuation (VVT). The existing 248.77cc, liquid cooled motor churns out 27 bhp and 23.5 Nm. More

    A popular brand in 70s and 80s, Yezdi motorcycles are all set to be re-launched in their 21st century version. Frequency of road tests has increased in recent months, which indicates that the bikes could be unveiled soon. Yezdi nameplate has a strong connect with enthusiasts, who will surely like to give it a try. As of now, most of the original Yezdi bikes are largely collectors’ items.
    Yezdi Roadking styling
    Although the bike gets a modern makeover, the retro look and feel is evident in features such as circular headlamp and rear-view mirrors. Handlebar is ergonomically placed, making it suitable for long journeys. With centrally-placed footpegs, the bike ensures a comfortable riding stance.
    Tail section is largely non-existent, which helps achieve a scrambler look for the bike. The registration number plate is mounted on the rear tyre hugger. The bike has minimal fairing with parts of the frame exposed to ensure a muscular profile.
    Talking about hardware, the bike gets conventional telescopic forks at front and twin rear shock absorbers. It has spoke wheels shod with dual-purpose tyres. The rear is a wider unit as compared to the front tyre. The bike gets dual upswept exhaust. Disc brakes can be seen at both ends. ABS is expected to be offered as standard.

    Yezdi ADV styling
    Based on the same platform, Yezdi adventure motorcycle and Roadking share quite a few components and features. Yezdi ADV gets round headlamp, tall visor, raised front fender, and fork gaiters. Latest spy video is credit to Kaif Nasir / Suyog.
    It has larger front wheel and rear smaller unit is shod with wider tyre. Similar to Royal Enfield Himalayan, Yezdi ADV gets dedicated luggage racks at front and rear. As compared to Himalayan, the horsey feel seems a little subdued on Yezdi ADV. Better clarity will emerge when the bike is unveiled.
    Engine options
    Roadking will primarily rival upcoming Royal Enfield Hunter 350. The latter will utilize the new 350cc engine that makes 20.2 bhp and 27 Nm. Yezdi ADV will take on Himalayan that is powered by a 411cc, air cooled, single cylinder, SOHC motor. It makes 24.3 bhp / 32 Nm.
    Yezdi Roadking
    Roadking could borrow the 293 cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled motor from Jawa. It is capable of generating max power of 27.3 ps and peak torque of 27 Nm. It is mated to a 6-speed constant-mesh transmission. It is also possible that Roadking could be powered by the 334cc motor currently in use with Jawa Perak. This unit makes 30.64 ps / 32.74 Nm and is coupled to a 6-speed gearbox.
    Yezdi ADV motorcycle could also get any of these two engine options. Engine performance parameters could be tweaked, as per the requirements of these bikes. If competitively priced, Yezdi bikes could emerge as a viable alternative to Royal Enfield motorcycles. It will be interesting to see how this segment evolves after Yezdi’s entry.

    Upcoming Benelli 650cc Adventure Motorcycle Patent Design Leaks

    Benelli 650cc Adventure Patent DesignThe upcoming 650cc ADV bike from Benelli is likely to be a road-biased tourer rather than a hardcore trail-bashing adventure motorcycle
    Benelli has its hand full with many upcoming models on the verge of rolling out from its assembly line. This has been possible thanks to the multiple models designed and conceptualised by its parent company Qianjiang Group. The Chinese automaker has filed numerous trademarks and design patents for upcoming motorcycles which are likely to wear brand names of both its subsidiaries- QJMotor and Benelli.
    While bikes with the former brand name will specifically cater to consumers in China, the letter will be developed keeping in mind the various international markets. Qianjiang has filed another design patent, this time for an all-new adventure motorcycle featuring a 650cc V-Twin engine.
    Benelli 650cc Adventure – Brand new design
    From the leaked patent images, it is very evident this is a brand new motorcycle that is very unique from contemporary middleweight ADVs currently in the market. Upfront, the bike gets a small flyscreen, a single pod headlight flanked by twin LED DRLs on each side, long semi-fairing and handguards. However, it marks a stark departure with the absence of signature beak in modern adventure tourers replaced by a tyre-hugging front mudguard.
    The saddle is a split-seat affair with a very accessible rider seat and raised pillion seat. It also gets a chunky pillion grab rail that extends into a large luggage mounting rack thus expressing its touring capabilities. Other notable styling highlights include a high-set exhaust canister with heat shields, a massive fuel tank and a huge engine underbelly cowl.
    Benelli 650cc Adventure Patent Design
    As of now, it is very uncertain for which brand- Benelli or QJMotor, this patent has been registered for. However, on a closer inspection, one can spot a tiny ‘Benelli’ logo on the lower left of the front fork. Use of Brembo brakes also hints towards this machine being developed for the Italian brand.
    Expected Specifications
    Coming to specifications, the bike is underpinned by a 650cc platform which is a completely new tubular steel trellis frame and unlike any other architecture shared between Benelli and QJMotor. Currently, these two brands share the same 500cc and 750cc parallel-twin engines among themselves while there is also a new 600cc four-cylinder engine in the making. The new 650cc V-Twin motor is expected to dish out around 70 horses.
    While patents show the bike standing on wire-spoked rims with 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels, they are shod with road-going tubeless tyres which makes it more of a tourer than an adventure bike. Even then it should be capable enough to tackle mild off-roading conditions. This is thanks to longer suspension travel from the inverted forks at front and breaking hardware from Brembo.
    This new 650cc adventure tourer could be positioned in between TRK502 and the upcoming TRK750 in Benelli’s international lineup and could possibly be named TRK650. When it debuts, it will be pitted against the likes of other middleweight ADVs such as Kawasaki Versys 650, Suzuki V-Strom 650 and the upcoming Triumph Tiger Sport 660.

    New Hero Xpulse, Xtreme Stealth, Pleasure Plus XTEC – Leaks Before Launch

    Constant updates to product lineup are key to a thriving business in the Indian automotive market for OEMs. Therefore, despite leading the two-wheeler market in the country for decades, Hero MotoCorp has been regularly updating its two-wheeler lineup with new models or new variants.
    A few months ago, Hero launched a range-topping variant of its 125cc commuter called Glamour Xtec. The model came with class-leading features over the standard models and at a premium price as well. The bikemaker will soon launch a similar top-spec variant of Pleasure Plus as images of the upcoming scooter from a dealer meet have leaked online.
    In addition the Pleasure Plus X-Tec, Hero will also launch new Xpulse 200 as well as Xtreme 160R Stealth Edition. Both these motorcycles were also spied at the dealer meet. Xpulse 200 will be seen with new colours, more powerful 4V engine while Xtreme 160R will get the Stealth colour scheme, which was also seen on the Maestro 125. These new editions will help Hero increase sales this festive season.
    Hero Pleasure Plus X-TEC – Dimensions & Expected Features
    In terms of design, the upcoming Pleasure Plus Xtec is every bit identical to the standard model. It also shares identical dimensions of the entry-level scooter. It measures a length of 1,769mm, a width of 704mm, stands 1,161mm tall and offers a wheelbase of 1,238mm. The scooter gets a ground clearance of 155mm and weighs daily nimble at only 106kg.
    New Hero Pleasure Plus XTEC
    The primary highlight of this new scooter will be the rich equipment which is likely to offer additional features such as a fully digital instrument console compatible with Bluetooth connectivity. The console can read out data from the speedometer, tachometer, odometer, gear position indicator, service due indicator and RTMI.
    Apart from these, the new Xtech variant of Pleasure Plus will offer first-in-segment Turn-by-Turn navigation, Integrated USB Charger as well as Side-Stand Engine cut-off and Bank Angle Sensor. Hero could also carry forward the i3S start/stop technology offered in other two-wheelers from the brand. Also, it is expected to offer LED headlights and LED DRLs in the package.
    Styling & Colour Options
    As of now, Pleasure Plus is offered in eight paint schemes including Polestar Blue, Matte Black, Matte Green, Matte Metallic Red, Midnight Black, Pearl Silver White, Sporty Red and Matte Vernier Gray. The prototype in the latest spy shots is seen wearing the yellow colour scheme. The scooter rides on black alloy wheels with a yellow-coloured rim.
    New Hero Xtreme Stealth
    To make it a more premium affair, Hero will be offering Pleasure Plus Xtec chrome embellishments on headlamp bezel, front apron, rearview mirrors and exhaust heat shield. A pillion backrest will also be carried forward. It is expected to be launched in the coming few weeks at the peak of the festive season.
    Engine Specs
    Powering the range-topping trim of Pleasure Plus will be the same 110.9 cc single-cylinder air-cooled OHC four-stroke fuel-injected engine that pushes out 8 bhp and a peak torque of 8.7 Nm. The powertrain, as usual, will be linked to a CVT gearbox. Currently, Pleasure Plus is priced between Rs 62,940 and Rs 67,550 (ex-showroom) while the upcoming Xtech variant could be priced Rs 4,000 higher than the current top-end trim of Pleasure Plus.
    New Hero Xtreme Stealth
    Hero Xtreme Stealth Edition
    In terms of features, it is not far behind other motorcycles. It is the only bike in its segment which gets an all-LED lighting setup,i.e. An LED headlamp, an LED taillamp and LED indicators. It is equipped with an inverted LCD console, side-stand engine cut-off, hazard lights and a segment-first Auto Sail technology which allows the bike to easily glide in traffic at low speeds.
    Coming to its most crucial aspect- performance, it is powered by a BS6 compliant 163cc single-cylinder fuel-injected motor which hurls out 15 bhp and 14 Nm of peak torque. This unit is linked to a 5-speed gearbox. Unlike most modern motorcycles, the Xtreme offers a kick-starter in addition to a standard starter motor. At 139.5 kg kerb weight it has one of the strongest power to weight ratios in the segment which helps it accelerate 0-60 kmph in just 4.7 seconds.

    Ola Electric Scooter Spied Testing Post Launch – New Updates?

    Ola created a storm when it launched its first range of electric scooters in India on Independence Day this year. The new S1 and S1 Pro e-scooters have received a thunderous response with the ride-hailing major selling two-wheelers worth Rs 1,100 crores in the first two days of sale.
    Ola Electric Scooter Testing Continues
    Deliveries of e-scooters are scheduled to begin in the next few days. However, even after launch, Ola continues to test its battery-powered scooter on road. Spy shots of the scooter being tested on the streets of Bangalore have been shared by automotive enthusiast Arya.
    From the looks of it, there doesn’t seem to be any visual updates on the scooter even though front end of the two-wheeler isn’t visible in these images. Ola Electric, the EV manufacturing arm of Ola, might be testing a new variant of the e-scooter with slightly different specifications.
    It could be a different battery pack or an electric motor with dissimilar output. The scooter seen in the images could also offer a new set of creature comforts. It is also possible that Ola is testing the same scooter which has been launched, with a part that is probably procured from a new vendor.
    Ola Electric Scooter
    S1, S1 Pro Specifications
    As of now, Ola offers two battery pack options- 2.98 kWh and 3.97 kWh for S1 and S1 Pro respectively. Both variants feature a mid-ship mounted 5.5 kW electric motor which returns a peak output of 8.5 kW and 58 Nm. The base S1 trim offers a range of up to 121 kms on a single charge and can reach a top speed of 90 kmph. On the other hand, S1 Pro offers a range of up to 181 kms and hits the speedometer at 115 kmph.
    While S1 offers two ride modes- Normal and Sport, S1 Pro offers an additional mode called Hyper. Hardware setup on both variants comprises a tubular frame suspended on a single front fork and a rear mono-shock. Braking duties are handled by disc brakes on both wheels accompanied by a combined braking system.
    Features on offer
    Ola is offering a wide range of features as standard on both trims. These include a digital instrument console with infotainment, Bluetooth connectivity, Wifi, side-stand alert, proximity lock/unlock, onboard navigation, call/SMS/email alerts, find my scooter, geo-fencing and a whole lot more. S1 and S1 Pro offer a very generous 36-litre underseat storage capacity.
    The entire lineup of S1 e-scooters is available in ten colour options. The base S1 costs Rs 99,999, while the S1 Pro retails at Rs 1,29,999.     Hero Xpulse 200 New Colour Spied Testing With More Powerful Engine

    New Hero Xpulse 200 4VHero Xpulse is the most affordable adventure tourer in India with only one direct rival in the form of the Honda CB200X
    Hero could be credited for kick-starting the entry-level adventure motorcycling space in the mass two-wheeler market of India. They launched the Impulse about 8 years ago. But had to discontinue the same due to poor demand. Based on the Impulse formula, came the Xpulse in 2019. It was first showcased as a prototype at the EICMA in Milan, Italy in 2017 and is now the most affordable ADV bike in India.
    However, the motorcycle has also drawn flak for being underpowered for this segment. Hero wants to address this by bringing a more powerful engine for Xpulse. A test mule powered by this motor has recently been spotted testing. The main highlight of this motor is the addition of a 4-valve head instead of the existing two-valve head.
    Styling Updates
    The latest test mule has been seen wearing a brand new colour scheme with a livery that features ‘4-Valve’ decals on the lower side of the fuel tank. The dual-tone paint option gets a blue colour which is complemented by blacked-out side panels, tail section and tank shrouds.
    Additionally, the engine and gearbox assembly, heat shield and part of the exhaust canister have been painted in a grey shade. Splashes of blue are also seen on the wire-spoked rims of the upcoming Xpulse.
    New Hero Xpulse 200 4V
    Powertrain Update
    Apart from all these updates, the new Xpulse is visually the same as the current model. However, with the 4-Valve system, cylinder head of the engine would now get more valves which will pump more air-fuel mixture into the combustion chamber. This will allow more fuel to be burnt, thus enabling it to extract more performance. It also allows the engine to breathe better which translates into higher fuel efficiency.
    In its current iteration, Xpulse 200 is powered by a 199.6cc, oil-cooled, 2-valve, fuel-injected engine which returns an output of 17.8 bhp at 8,500rpm and 16.45 Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm. This unit is paired with a 5-speed gearbox. In its BS4 form, this motor came with a simple air cooler which has been upgraded to an oil-cooling system.
    Mechanical Specs & Features
    There shouldn’t be any more changes to its specifications. The motorcycle will continue to roll on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic units at front with 190mm of travel and a 10-step adjustable mono-shock at rear with 170mm of travel. Braking hardware comprises disc brakes at both ends accompanied with a single-channel ABS.
    It will be interesting to see if Hero offers some additional features in the new Xpulse 4V. Currently, it offers a full-LED headlamp and a digital instrument console enabled with Bluetooth connectivity for navigation and call alerts. It is also expected to be offered at a slightly premium price in comparison to the current model priced at Rs 1.20 lakh (ex-showroom).
