    Yezdi Roadking ADV 350 Spied Closely – New Details Of Himalayan Rival

    Classic Legends has taken upon itself to revive iconic motorcycle brands from yesteryears. It started with the Czech brand Jawa in 2018 and it will continue with Yezdi and the iconic British nameplate BSA in the coming future. The latter will specifically cater to buyers in the UK market.
    The Indian two-wheeler manufacturer filed a trademark for the ‘Roadking’ moniker in India which will likely be the first motorcycle under the Yezdi brand. A test mule of a motorcycle which is presumed to be a Yezdi has been spotted on a couple of occasions previously. Based on the Roadking, a new ADV will also be launched, that will take on the Royal Enfield Himalayan.
    Yezdi Roadking ADV 350
    At the first glance, the motorcycle reminds us of Royal Enfield Himalayan. In all possibilities, it will be positioned as an entry-level adventure bike against the off-roader from the Chennai-based bikemaker. Signature ADV styling highlights of this bike include a beak-like front mudguard, a taller handlebar, a large windscreen, a raised tail section and multi-purpose tyres.
    The ADV also gets mountings to accommodate accessories such as a luggage rack and pannier boxes. It gets an all digital instrument cluster which is encased in a way which is usually seen on rally motorcycles. Take a look at the detailed video by The Fat Biker below.

    Both Yezdi motorcycles will share the same underpinnings which will include telescopic front forks and twin shock absorbers at rear. However, the ADV derivative is expected to offer greater travel than the scrambler version. Braking duties will be handled by disc brakes at both ends complemented by a single-channel ABS as standard.
    Engine Specs
    The new Roadking and its ADV sibling will be manufactured under the same roof as their Jawa cousins at the company’s production facility in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh. They are expected to be powered by a new Perak based 350cc engine. It will be a single-cylinder liquid-cooled motor which will deliver power in the 30 PS range. It is likely to be coupled with a 6-speed constant mesh transmission.
    Upcoming Yezdi Roadking
    The upcoming Roadking is expected to be a neo-retro scrambler which has been testified with the earlier spy shots. Speculative design renderings have also suggested that it could possibly be a scrambler. A testing prototype of Roadking has been spotted again revealing crucial details about the upcoming scrambler. It is most likely to be underpinned by the same platform as Mahindra Mojo and its Jawa cousins.

    Some of its key styling highlights which give it a retro appeal include a round headlamp, short front fenders, circular taillamps, spoked wheels, circular rearview mirrors, almond-shaped fuel tank, a single-piece cantilevered seat and fork gaiters. In comparison to its modern classic counterparts from Jawa, Roadking could be offered with a slightly taller handlebar.
    Unlike the previous spy shots of Roadking, the current set of images reveal a finished upswept exhaust. The riding posture also seems fairly comfortable with an upright stance thanks to centre-set footpegs and a straight handlebar.     When launched, Mahindra eKUV100 could be offered as the most affordable electric car in the Indian market, possibly priced below Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom)
    Mahindra is planning to ramp up the electric mobility space by launching a host of new electric cars in India. Some of them were showcased at the last edition of AutoExpo held in 2020. The most promising of those was a concept prototype of eKUV100, the fully electric version of KUV100 micro UV.
    There have been a lot of conjectures regarding the launch of the electric crossover as the project has faced multiple delays primarily due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, it seems the project is back on track as a test mule of the electric KUV100 has been spotted on roads once again, this time in an undisguised avatar.
    2022 Mahindra KUV100 EV – Exterior Styling
    It is the second time that the upcoming electric crossover has been spotted in its production-spec form without any camouflage. The latest spy shots are credited to Chaitanya Pise which have been uploaded on Facebook group Rushlane Spylane.
    The spy pics make it clear that overall design of eKUV100 is almost identical to its IC engine-powered counterpart. However, there are subtle variations in styling which provide the electric crossover a distinct appeal.
    Mahindra eKUV100 Spied
    The most prominent of those is a closed-off front grille for improved aerodynamics with small arrow-shaped inserts, some of them painted in blue. Charging ports are installed on both the front fenders- one exclusively for standard AC charging and one for both AC and DC fast charging.
    While headlights remain the same as the ones on its fossil-fueled sibling, taillight clusters have been completely redesigned. Further, blue accents have also been carried forward to the headlights as well as taillights. The chrome trim on the tailgate portrays a quirky ‘+’ and ‘-’ sign which further differentiates it from the current KUV100. Additionally, alloy wheels are also expected to flaunt a different design with blue inserts.
    Expected Powertrain Specs
    Powering eKUV100 is a 40kW electric motor that draws energy from a 15.9kWh battery pack. This powertrain returns a peak output of 40 bhp and 120 Nm of torque while a range of around 140km can be expected on a single charge. These figures aren’t the greatest but were mentioned alongside the pre-production concept at AutoExpo 2020.
    Mahindra KUV100 Electric Spied
    On using a regular AC charger, the battery pack takes 5 hours and 45 minutes to get fully charged (on the front right fender flap). Using the DC fast charger, the battery gets replenished from 0 to 80 percent in just 55 minutes (on the front left fender flap). Upon its launch, eKUV100 will be positioned as an entry-level electric undercutting Tata Nexon EV and Tigor EV. It could be a direct rival to the upcoming Tata Punch electric. More

    2021 Aprilia SR 160 Facelift New Spy Shots – Launch Soon

    Aprilia will be updating the SR 160 power scooter with a mild facelift in the next few days. Two prototypes of the updated scooter have been spotted in an Aprilia dealer yard in Bengaluru. This is the second instance where the facelifted SR 160 has been spotted in recent months, the first in an undisguised avatar.
    However, the updates are likely to remain purely cosmetic in nature with no changes in specifications. The nature of updates though subtle are noticeable. For instance, the new 2022 Aprilia SR 160 flaunts new body graphics which lend the scooter a fresh appeal.
    New Aprilia SR 160 Facelift – Updated Styling
    Among other updates is the addition of a single-piece pillion grab rail as opposed to split grab rails in the outgoing model. It also gets an updated V-shaped single-beam LED headlamp cluster instead of a dual-beam unit in the current SR 160.
    The headlight is flanked by sleek LED DRLs on both sides. Styling on the front apron has also been revised which now features new creases on the side fairings.

    The scooter is seen in two paint schemes- white and black. The former gets a dual-tone treatment with blacked-out fenders, handlebar, grab rail, alloy wheels and floorboard panels. On closer inspection, it appears that the front mudguard has been provided with a carbon fibre finish which enhanced the premium appeal of the scooter.
    SR 160 continues to feature the same set of turn indicators housed on the sides of the handlebar. Another interesting piece of detail is the tricolour (green, white and red) of the Italian flag embossed on the front apron signifying the scooter’s origin.
    2021 Aprilia SR 160 Facelift – Mechanical Specs
    In its updated iteration, SR 160 will be powered by the same 160cc single-cylinder, fuel-injected motor which kicks out 10.8 bhp at 7600rpm and 11.6 Nm at 6000rpm. This motor is paired with a CVT automatic gearbox. Suspension duties are handled by 30mm telescopic forks up front and a mono-shock at rear. Anchorage is taken care of by a 220mm disc at front and a 140mm drum at rear, assisted by a single-channel ABS as standard.
    New Aprilia SR160
    Aprilia offers 14-inch alloy wheels on SR 160 while it tips the weighing scales at 122 kilos in the current model. Other features include a semi-digital instrument console as standard and a windscreen and perimeter-type crash guards that are offered as accessories. SR 160 is currently priced between Rs 1.09 lakh and Rs 1.16 lakh (ex-showroom). We can expect a slight bump in prices with the given set of updates.

    Royal Enfield has a number of prospective launches up its sleeves in the coming few months. However, the next big launch is expected to be the 650cc cruiser which has been spotted on a number of occasions previously. Recently, it was reported that this upcoming cruiser will be named Super Meteor.
    One doesn’t have to guess too hard for the actual inspiration behind the name as the brand already retails a cruiser named Meteor. However, the former will be a proper cruiser rather than the 350cc machine which essentially is a retro-style roadster trying to be a cruiser.
    It has also come to light that Super Meteor 650 will make its first official appearance at the upcoming 2021 EICMA Show in Italy next month. Meanwhile, the motorcycle continues to be spotted testing on Indian roads. The undisguised prototype seen in these images is in line with the speculative digital renderings that have gone viral online. The latest spy images are credit to automotive enthusiast Vasanth H.
    Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 Cruiser – Design & Features
    Like most Royal Enfield models, retro styling forms a key aspect of the upcoming 650cc cruiser. Some notable highlights spied include a circular headlamp with a chrome bezel, split-style seats, a tear-drop fuel tank, twin-sided exhaust canisters embellished in chrome, a round taillight and broad fenders. A rear-swept handlebar and forward-set footpegs suggest the bike will offer a relaxed riding ergonomics of a typical cruiser.
    New Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650
    In terms of features, Super Meteor 650 has been spied with a twin-pod instrument cluster. One of them is expected to be the Tripper Navigation which provides turn-by-turn navigation when paired with the Royal Enfield smartphone app via Bluetooth. We also expect the Chennai-based bikemaker to throw in a few electronic rider aids.
    Mechanical Specifications
    Powering Super Meteor 650 will be the same 648cc air and oil-cooled, parallel-twin engine that propels Interceptor and Continental GT. This motor churns out 47 bhp and 52 Nm of peak torque and will be coupled with a 6-speed gearbox accompanied by a slipper clutch. Hardware configurations will differ slightly from the existing RE 650 twins. Suspension setup will consist of upside-down front forks and twin-sided rear springs.
    Braking duties will be handled by disc brakes at both ends which will be aided by a dual-channel ABS as standard. Like a typical cruiser, Super Meteor will ride on a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel wrapped around by thick profile tubeless tyres.
    As mentioned previously, Super Meteor 650 will be positioned as a premium cruiser above the current 650cc twins- Interceptor and Continental GT in the RE lineup.     Kawasaki recently unveiled its new 650cc retro motorcycle based on its famed naked streetfighter Z650. The motorcycle made its global debut last month and will soon be heading towards Indian shores. In fact, the Japanese superbike brand has already started testing the upcoming motorcycle on Indian roads.
    Latest spy shots are credit to automotive enthusiast Aniket Deshpande, who spotted the Upcoming Kawasaki 650cc Classic Roadster on the Palm Beach road in Navi Mumbai. Aniket says that the test mule was performing high speed runs on the road. He only managed to click the photos when the rider had to halt at a traffic signal.
    Upcoming Kawasaki 650cc – New Retro-Style Design
    The classic roadster is expected to be launched in our country by the end of this year. As mentioned previously, the design of Z650 RS is heavily inspired by its larger sibling Z900 RS. Interestingly, the test mule spotted has been wrapped under camouflage.
    The styling of the testing prototype is in tune with the international-spec model which made its debut recently barring a small addition. The India-spec mule was seen with an odd-looking pillion grab rail at the tail section. Rest of the details are identical with retro-inspired highlights such as a round LED headlamp, twin-pod instrument cluster, teardrop-shaped fuel tank, a flat single-piece saddle and circular rearview mirrors.

    Other styling highlights such as multi-spoke alloy wheels and underbelly exhaust have been carried forward from its naked street racer sibling. The blacked-out components of side panels, engine, gearbox and alloys give Z650RS a sporty appeal. Chrome embellishments around headlamps, exhaust pipe, front forks and instrument console give it a premium look.
    Overall, Z650 RS sports a neo-retro design with styling inspired by classic motorcycles of yesteryears but with a modern touch. The international model is available with three colour options namely Candy Emerald Green, Metallic Moondust Grey/Ebony and Metallic Spark Black. We can expect these paint schemes to be on offer in India as well.
    Features & Specs
    In terms of features, Z650 RS gets full LED lighting along with a semi-digital instrument console and ride modes probably. It will borrow its underpinnings from other 650cc models from Kawasaki’s lineup such as Z650 and Ninja 650. This means Z650 RS will be based on a trellis frame which is suspended on 41mm front telescopic forks and a horizontal backlink rear preload-adjustable mono-shock.

    Braking duties will be handled by twin 300mm discs up front and a single 220mm disc at the rear. This setup is aided by a dual-channel ABS. Powering Z650 RS is a familiar 649cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that dishes out 67.3 bhp at 8,000rpm and peak torque of 64 Nm at 6,700rpm. This unit is coupled with a 6-speed gearbox which comes with a slipper and assist clutch.
    Z650 RS is expected to be priced anything between Rs 6.50 – 7.0 lakh (ex-showroom). Upon its launch, Z650 RS will not have a direct rival in the segment, in the segment. Royal Enfield 650 Twins could be considered as rivals by some, but they are priced in the Rs 3.5 lakh range. More

    Launched in 2018, Jawa motorcycles have emerged as popular options for retro enthusiasts. While existing models continue to deliver consistent sales, Jawa is looking to further boost numbers by expanding its portfolio.
    Jawa range will be extended to include new products, one of which will be a cruiser bike. This was recently spotted on road test in Pune. Thanks to Suyog Phadtare for sharing the exclusive spy shot of new Jawa cruiser.
    Jawa cruiser styling and features
    Just like other Jawa bikes, the cruiser focuses on retro styling bits. Some key features include round headlamp and rear-view mirrors, tear-drop shaped fuel tank and turn signals, broad rear fender, and comfy wide seat.
    Dimensionally, Jawa cruiser appears to be around the same size as Perak. It is possible that it could share the same platform as that of Perak, with a bit of tuning. The upcoming Jawa Cruiser has a pillion seat, which is much larger than any other Jawa motorcycle on sale today. Also, the rear suspension setup is that of twin-shocks, instead of a monoshock that is seen on Perak.
    New Jawa Cruiser Spied
    Side profile is pretty skeletal with just the radiator, engine and side cover. The bike has dual exhaust pipes in a sober, minimalistic design. Users can expect a throaty aural experience, similar to or even better than existing Jawa motorcycles. The test mule spotted had a dark theme, evident in blacked-out parts such as crash guard, exhaust, engine, and wheels. At launch, the bike is likely to be offered in multiple colour options.
    Talking about ergonomics, Jawa cruiser has a comfortable, upright riding stance. The bike has raised, wide handlebar and forward set footpegs. The wide seat with ample cushioning should ensure optimal comfort for both rider and pillion.
    Footpegs for pillion are also placed in a forward position. It is possible that Jawa cruiser may get Bluetooth-based connectivity features. The test mule was spotted with inverted speedo, which is already offered with existing Jawa bikes.
    New Jawa Cruiser Spied

    Powering Jawa cruiser could be the same 334 cc engine that currently does duty on Perak. The single cylinder, liquid cooled, DOHC engine is capable of generating 30.64 ps of max power and 32.74 Nm of peak torque. It is mated to a constant mesh 6-speed gearbox.
    Jawa cruiser has standard telescopic forks at front and dual rear shock absorbers. The bike could be offered with options for both alloy and spoke wheels. It will have disc brakes at both ends, integrated with dual-channel ABS. Upon launch, it might not have any direct rival in the 350cc segment. In the price segment, it will continue to rival the range of 350cc motorcycles from Royal Enfield. If Bajaj Avenger 400 is launched, that could also be a potential rival.
    New Jawa Cruiser Spied
    After Jawa, Mahindra-owned Classic Legends is working to revive other iconic motorcycle brands such as Yezdi and BSA. Yezdi is expected to focus on Indian market, whereas BSA will target European markets, starting with UK.
    Yezdi bikes spotted on road tests include Roadking and an ADV motorcycle. Roadking will take on upcoming Royal Enfield Hunter 350 whereas the ADV will rival Royal Enfield Himalayan. Both Yezdi bikes are expected to be unveiled by end of this year or early next year. More

    New TVS Motorcycle Spied – Apache Based Retro To Rival Yamaha FZX?

    TVS Motor Company is working on a number of upcoming models and this fact could be established by various trademarks filed by the bikemaker in recent times. One of the trademarks registered by the company which gained a lot of traction in online media was Retron.
    Initially, it was speculated to be reserved for the brand’s upcoming electric scooter based on the Creon Concept. However, now it has been suspected to be utilised for the upcoming retro-style classic motorcycle from TVS. Recently, a new motorcycle test mule was spied in Hosur near the company’s manufacturing site.
    TVS Retron Spied ?
    The image is credited to Ashish Kadam which shows a disguised prototype of the retro motorcycle conducting trial tests. Retron is expected to be based on the same underpinnings as Apache RTR 160 hence one could identify many elements of this motorcycle with the modern sporty roadster.
    Some distinct attributes noticeable are a single-piece grab rail for the pillion, a single-piece saddle and an upswept exhaust canister. The LED taillight looks like an auxiliary unit while the rear fender extends from the tail section.
    New TVS Retron Based On Apache?
    The motorcycle rolls on alloy wheels shod with meaty tyres with a wider profile and cross-section. There are minimum body panels on the side indicating that it could be naked roadster. The spy image of the bike only focuses on the rear and side profiles of the motorcycle and hence does not reveal any detail of its front face.
    However, if we hazard a guess, it could flaunt a signature retro-style design with a round headlamp, teardrop-shaped fuel tank and circular rearview mirrors. From the looks of it, the upcoming motorcycle appears to carry a circular instrument console with part analogue and part digital readouts.
    New TVS Motorcycle – Expected Specs
    Coming to specifications, the bike seen in the images has been equipped with telescopic forks at front and a mono-shock at rear. Stopping power is achieved from disc brakes at both ends. We expect TVS to offer dual-channel ABS on this motorcycle. It is expected to be powered by a 159.7cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that propels Apache RTR 160.
    New TVS Retron Based On Apache?
    It will be interesting to see in which configuration this engine will be offered. If offered in a 2-valve setup, this motor can kick out 15.3 bhp and 13.9 Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, if offered in a 4-valve setup, this power mill dishes out 17.39 bhp and a peak torque of 14.73 Nm. In either case, the bike will be offered with a 5-speed gearbox.
    Upon launch, it is expected to rival the likes of Yamaha FZ-X. More spy images of Retron in future could help us decode more details about this upcoming retro motorcycle. As of now, there are hardly any details to speculate a launch timeline or expected price. More

    Bajaj Pulsar 250F Testing Continues – LED, Instrument Cluster Spied

    Bajaj Auto is gearing up to launch the new Pulsar 250 in multiple iterations on October 28. The upcoming quarter-litre motorcycle has been spotted testing on roads in the past few months on numerous occasions. All test mules spied until now have been heavily wrapped under camouflage thus revealing very few details of the bike.
    The Chakan-based manufacturer continues to test the upcoming Pulsar ahead of its launch towards the end of this month. The new motorcycle has been spotted testing again, this time in Kolhapur. Hat tip to Omkar for sharing the latest set of spy shots which clearly reveal the design of the LED taillamps.
    The recent spy images only reveal the rear end of what appears to be the semi-faired iteration of the motorcycle which is expected to be named Pulsar 250F. The bikemaker will also launch a naked streetfighter version of the same which will most probably be called NS250.
    Bajaj Pulsar 250F – Fresh Design
    As seen in the recent spy pics, the split style taillight in Pulsar 250 seems to be an extension of the ones seen in the current Pulsar lineup. Other styling highlights include split grab rails for the pillion, a raised tail section, a rear tyre hugger, a split seating setup and a side-mounted twin-barrel exhaust canister.
    Bajaj Pulsar 250F
    From previous spy images, we have noticed design attributes such as a clip-on handlebar, an engine underbelly cowl and a muscular front fender. The front fascia of the motorcycle flaunts a single-pod LED headlamp cluster and integrated LED DRLs. The semi-faired iteration of the motorcycle gets an even more aggressive front end with a large headlamp cowl and a flyscreen that integrates into the side fairing.
    Hardware & Features
    Another major update is the semi-digital instrument console which was earlier believed to be a fully digital unit. The console could, however, benefit from Bluetooth connectivity. Coming to its hardware configurations, the new Pulsar 250 will be underpinned by an all-new frame which will be suspended on conventional telescopic forks up front and a mono-shock linked to the swingarm at rear.
    Expected Engine Specs
    Braking setup will comprise disc brakes at both ends complemented by a dual-channel ABS. The upcoming Pulsar duos will be powered by a new 249cc single-cylinder air/oil-cooled engine which is likely to pump out 24 bhp and 20 Nm of peak torque. This unit will be linked to a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper and assist clutch. This engine is also expected to be equipped with variable valve actuation (VVA) technology.
    Upon its launch, Pulsar 250 is expected to be priced around Rs 1.60 lakh (ex-showroom) for the naked iteration and an additional Rs 5,000-10,000 for the semi-faired version. The Pulsar quarter-litre siblings will rival the likes of Yamaha FZ25 and Suzuki Gixxer 250 and SF 250. More
