Most likely possibility is Meteor 650, which has been spotted in production ready format. October seems to be an apt time for Meteor 650 launch, as this period marks the peak of the festive season. The bike could be launched at a starting price of around Rs 3.35 lakh.Royal Enfield Meteor 650 SpiedWhile the ‘Haathi Mat Palo’ campaign tried its best to influence popular perceptions, it appears that the elephant doesn’t really care. And if sales data is any indication, it seems the least impacted by attempts at body shaming.The journey continues with Meteor 650 that has huge proportions and seems to dwarf most other two-wheelers in the vicinity. Especially when the streets here are largely populated with entry-level commuter scooters and motorcycles. Take a look at the latest spy video of Royal Enfield Meteor 650 which was shared on Rushlane Spylane by Gokul Raju.[embedded content][embedded content]While Meteor 650’s massive size may be a constraint across busy city streets, it will be real fun to ride on highways and open roads. The bike looks pretty heavy, which should be able to support high-speed cruising of 100-120 kmph and above. Making it possible will be components such as USD front forks, dual rear shock absorbers and wide block pattern rear tyre for optimal traction. The bike has disk brakes at both ends, integrated with dual-channel ABS as standard.And then, there’s the powerful 648cc air/oil-cooled parallel twin motor that does duty on Interceptor and Continental GT. It generates 47 hp of max power at 7,150 rpm and 52 Nm of peak torque at 5,250 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed constant mesh gearbox. It is possible that the engine may be tweaked slightly in line with requirements of Meteor 650.Meteor 650 design highlightsMeteor 650 has a retro profile with features such as round headlamp and rear view mirrors, tear-drop shaped fuel tank and circular tail lamp. Riding stance is fairly comfortable with centrally placed footpegs and ergonomically placed wide handlebar. Rider seat section has a scooped up profile, which seems perfect for long journeys.Seat height is around the same as that of 650 twins, approx. 800 mm, which should allow optimal control and handling. Other key features include rugged crash guard, wide pillion seat, minimal body panelling, thick exhaust pipes and broad rear mudguard. To make this grand comeback for red double decker buses in Mumbai, BEST had planned to induct 900 electric buses from electric mobility solutions provider Switch.The plan was to induct more at a later time and also to implement double-decker buses in other Maharashtrian cities too. Switch Mobility is yet to launch its new electric double-decker bus in India. Ahead of launch, a Switch electric double decker bus has been spotted on Mumbai roads. Like Mumbai’s iconic double-decker, this is also red in colour. It has a few changes to its exterior body and the powertrain is highly likely to be the same as that of the global model. Let’s check out the specs on this tall boy.Specs & FeaturesMetrodecker comes in two variants, MD10,500 which is 10,500mm long and 5,350mm wheelbase. Whereas, MD11,140 is 11,140mm long with a 6,000mm wheelbase. Both of them are 2,500mm wide and 4,310mm tall. I am a little concerned as to how such a tall vehicle will fare in an Indian city like Mumbai, where encroachment is not often regulated.Mumbai Double Decker Electric BusMD10,500 can seat 63 people and MD11,140 can seat 84. But more than 94 people can travel at once too. Coming to its massive powertrain, it gets a gargantuan 325 kWh battery pack which is capable of 335 bhp of peak power and even astonishing is 22,000 Nm of peak torque unleashed at 0 RPM via a ZF sourced AVE130 hub motor axle. We thought electric Hummer’s 15,500 Nm torque was bonkers. But here we go.Switch Double Decker Electric bus’ powertrain is capable of covering 240 km of claimed range in a single charge with HVAC turned on. After its battery is depleted, the onboard 44 kW AC charger takes 6 hours for full recharge. But with a DC fast charger with 100 kW to spare, charging times can take only 3 hours.     2023 Hero 300cc XPulse, XPulse T, Xtreme S – 3 New Motorcycles Spied

    With mid-size segment registering strong growth, Hero MotoCorp is getting ready to tap this space with two new 300cc bikes2023 Hero 300cc Motorcycles – XPulse 300, XPulse 300T and Xtreme 300SWhile it’s the country’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp has a fairly lopsided portfolio, maxing out at 200cc range. As consumer preferences are evolving, Hero will be looking to diversify its portfolio. It could start with mid-size segment that has been witnessing strong growth, with multiple new products launched in recent years.In the earlier set of spy shots, only two motorcycles of Hero were spied. As revealed in latest spy shots by Sarathi of KALKI, Hero MotoCorp is working on three new bikes, an ADV, an ADV tourer and a fully-faired sportsbike. These are likely to have a 300cc motor and could be named XPulse 300, XPulse 300T and Xtreme 300S. Launch is expected in 2023. While engine will be same, power and torque output may be adjusted for each of these 300cc bikes.The Three New Hero Motorcycles – Xtreme 300S, Xpulse 300T and Xpulse 300.Hero XPulse 300 and Xpulse 300 TXPulse 300 ADVs and its faired sibling will be using a trellis frame, which will be a first for Hero MotoCorp. Hero’s 450RR Dakar Rally motorcycle does have a trellis frame, but that bike is not commercially produced. XPulse 300 concept was showcased at Hero World 2020 event with a new motor and trellis frame. It is possible that launch of Hero 300cc bikes could have been delayed due to the pandemic.Some of the key features of Hero XPulse 300 include raised front fender, aggressive headlamp cowl with compact windscreen, trendy rear view mirrors, skeletal body and rugged engine bash plate. The bike is likely to get a full-digital instrument console with Bluetooth-based connectivity features. XPulse 300 has wire-spoke wheels with knobby tyres, which highlight its off-roading capabilities.New Hero XPulse 300T and Xpulse 300Wheel size could be similar to Himalayan that has 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel. Braking setup comprises disc brakes at both ends and dual-channel ABS could be offered as standard. The bike has USD front forks and monoshock suspension at rear.New Hero Xpulse 300 cc RangeXpulse 300T can be seen with a different styling, more suited for being an adnture tourer. In latest spy shots from the UK by Motorcycle News, we can see that the new motorcycle gets significantly broader seats to accommodate riders of all frames and sizes.Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 – New Spy ShotsIt is also expected to get comfier cushioning to give riders more support and comfort. This will also make sure that riders can ride farther on one stretch before needing to take a break further aiding Himalayan 450’s touring abilities.Rider’s triangle also seems to be better than Himalayan 411. This will aid the rider in daily commutes and as well as highway runs. Pillion seat looks like an upgrade too as it looks broader and better cushioned in comparison to Himalayan 411. The pillion will also appreciate the placement of the rear footpegs and big grab handle beneath them.Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Spied in the UKHimalayan will get a bigger 450cc single-cylinder petrol engine with an overhead camshaft. It will get oil cooling. It is expected to make more power and more torque than Himalayan 411. This will make it an even worthy opponent to the likes of KTM 390 Adventure and BMW G310GS. The engine might be coupled to a brand new 6-speed transmission instead of the 5-speed unit on Himalayan 411.The motorcycle will get spoked wheels at the front and rear. Wheels are expected to be 21” at front and 17” at the rear like Himalayan 411. Ground clearance on the newer model seems to be higher. This might be due to beefier forks with longer suspension travel. Final production version of Himalayan 450 will be slightly bigger than the outgoing Himalayan 411 and is also expected to weigh a little more due to the bigger engine.Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 FeaturesHimalayan 450 will get tubular frames at front and rear to hold luggage, panniers and jerry cans. It will also get a new vertically mounted instrument cluster which will easily fall in rider’s peripheral vision. Other expected features on the bigger Himalayan include, dual-channel switchable ABS, slip and assist clutch, some kind of riding modes with different throttle maps, GPS navigation on the instrumentation and maybe even ride-by-wire to make the throttle response better. However, Bajaj seems far from giving up and will be making another attempt soon. It will come via the company’s collaboration with UK-based Triumph Motorcycles.Bajaj-Triumph motorcycle spiedAs evident in the images, the new Bajaj-Triumph bike looks production ready. It seems to derive design inspiration from Triumph Bonneville range of motorcycles. Retro theme is evident with features such as round headlamps and rear-view mirrors.Other key highlights include a compact design, sculpted fuel tank, single-piece seat, all-skeletal design, upswept exhaust and alloy wheels. Suspension system comprises USD forks at front and a monoshock unit at rear with pre-load adjustability. In comparison, Bonneville bikes such as Street Scrambler, Street Twin and Speed Twin are equipped with dual rear shock absorbers. Use of a monoshock unit at rear makes the bike better suited for tackling off-road terrains.2023 Bajaj Triumph Motorcycle – New Spy ShotsOff-roading capabilities are further enhanced with features such as dual-purpose Metzeler tyres. The bike has 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels. It also gets a rugged bash plate. Braking duties are performed by disc brakes at both ends. There’s a dedicated luggage rack at the rear and on the left side as well. Tank mounted bags could also be made available as an accessory.Other details include a rectangular digital instrument console, which looks similar to the one used on KTM bikes. This may not necessarily be the unit that will be used for the production variant. As the bike has a retro profile, a rounded instrument console will be a better match. Two versions are expected to be on offer, one a classic retro and the other adventure scrambler. The latter gets knobby tyres, scrambler style exhaust, knuckle guards, raised front fender, etc.Bajaj-Triumph motorcycle engineBased on the structure and size of the engine, it appears to be a 350cc to 500cc unit. Single exhaust vent indicates that the engine will be a single-cylinder unit. The engine utilizes liquid cooling and comes with vertically mounted radiator.2023 Bajaj Triumph Motorcycle – New Spy ShotsBajaj-Triumph motorcycle will be sold globally. It will allow Triumph to play the volumes game on a larger scale. As the bike will be manufactured in India, there will be significant reduction in production cost. So, the company had introduced its 200cc platform and had based XPulse 200 off-roader, XPulse 200T tourer and a fully-faired sporty Xtreme 200 S too.While XPulse 200 off-roader soon became an instant hit, the other two were not received that well. But Hero had promised the launch of their 300cc platform a couple of years ago which has not materialized until now. But it looks like they have interesting launches planned for 2023.Two new motorcycles have been spied testing in Leh Ladakh region by Gowtham Naidu. One is an adventure motorcycle and the other is a fully faired motorcycle. There is no confirmation as of now what these motorcycles are, but as per our best guess, these are likely to be upcoming Hero MotoCorp motorcycles.New Hero XPulse 300The main highlight of this development will be Hero XPulse 300 as Indian automotive enthusiasts had been waiting for a no-nonsense off-roader at an affordable price. Only Hero can pull something like this as we have seen with incredible value for money XPulse 200 that recently got a Rally Edition.New Hero Xpulse 300 Spied In Leh Ladakh?Back in 2020, Hero had showcased a 300cc engine mated to a trellis frame. Right now, Hero doesn’t have any trellis-frame product, except for the Hero 450RR Dakar Rally motorcycle (which isn’t road-legal). The showcased frame also had a red finish on its frame as the race-only 450RR.Hero Xpulse 300 Concept vs Production SpiedIn the video, Gowtham Naidu mentions that it is a Himalayan 450 test mule. But upon closer inspection, we could easily spot the same clutch cover, red trellis frame, front spoked wheels with petal disc, same swingarm and the chrome finished side stand from the concept shown in February 2020. The test mule also has the RJ 14 registration plate, which is Jaipur, where Hero R&D is located.New Hero XPulse 300 gets spoked wheels at the front and back. It is likely to retain the 21” at front and 18” at the rear as XPulse 200. But owing to larger size, it is likely to get fatter rubber. Beak at the front is also present, but is visually stubbier than on XPulse 200. The upcoming off-roader will compete with Royal Enfield Himalayan, KTM 390 Adventure, Yezdi Adventure and BMW G 310 GS that recently got colour upgrades.Hero Xpulse 300 Concept vs Production SpiedNew Hero Xtreme 300SComing to Hero’s fully-faired 300cc test mule, it does look like a sizeable product and not lean and sharp like KTM RC 390. Going with previous fully-faired Hero bikes like Karizma ZMR, we can expect Xtreme 300S to be a decently large product. Xtreme 300S gets neatly designed fairing, alloy wheels, sporty clip-on handlebars and a lot more.Xtreme 300S is likely to get the same 300 cc engine as the XPulse 300 but in a different state of tune to suit the character of the bike. It will get road-spec tyres unlike AT tyres on XPulse 300. If Hero pulls off the design well, we might witness popularity of Hero’s fully-faired products going up significantly. In effect, 300S would be a fitting alternative to current faired machines like RC 390, BMW G 310 RR, and Apache RR 310.Hero Xtreme 300S Fully Faired Motorcycle?Specs & LaunchWe can expect the engine to displace a little over 300cc and make almost 27-30 bhp and around 25 Nm of torque. Both XPulse 300 and Xtreme 300S will get the same engines. Hero is also likely to introduce an XPulse 300T, a touring version of this platform at a later date.If everything goes according to Hero’s roadmap, we can expect both XPulse 300 and Xtreme 300S to launch in early 2023.     With electric two-wheeler sales registering strong growth, it’s an opportune time for OEMs to expand their EV portfolioFirst spy shot of TVS Creon Electric Scooter?India’s third largest two-wheeler manufacturer, TVS has allocated funds worth Rs 1,000 crore for development of new electric vehicles. It will include electric scooters, motorcycles and three-wheelers. One of the upcoming electric scooters could be based on the Creon Concept that was showcased at 2018 Auto Expo. A test mule with similar design was recently spotted on road tests in Bengaluru.TVS had marked its entry in EV space with iQube and recently launched the updated 2022 model. A total of three variants are on offer, iQube, iQube S and iQube ST. While the new iQube offers higher range and new features, its design and styling are largely the same as the earlier model. Among the list of cosmetic changes are 10 new colour options.2023 TVS Creon Electric ScooterIn comparison to iQube, TVS new Creon-based electric scooter will have sharper, more aggressive styling. While iQube comes across as classy and elegant, TVS new electric scooter is likely to get a sporty, maxi-styled profile. It will be positioned primarily as a performance-oriented two-wheeler, as compared to the utilitarian iQube.Some key features that the test mule reveals include an aggressive, muscular front fascia, large instrument panel, step-up seat design and integrated grab rails. Some features such as the rectangular rear view mirrors appear to be borrowed from iQube.TVS Creon ConceptA number of other components could also be borrowed from iQube to reduce development and production cost. Riding posture seems fairly comfortable with low-seat height and ergonomically-placed handlebar. The seat is long and wide and there’s ample space for pillion rider as well.TVS Creon-based electric scooter performanceAs compared to iQube, TVS Creon-based electric scooter is likely to have higher numbers in terms of things like power output, acceleration, top speed, etc. Creon Concept showcased at 2018 Auto Expo was equipped with triple battery packs that generated 12 kW of power. The scooter’s range was claimed at around 80 km and it could accelerate from 0 to 60 kmph in 5.1 seconds.For practical purposes, TVS new electric scooter could utilize a tweaked version of the existing powertrain used with new iQube. Top-spec variant of the new iQube is equipped with dual battery packs. These are IP67 rated against dust and water. The battery packs are enclosed inside high strength aluminium extrusion casing, which ensures effective protection against the elements.TVS Creon ConceptiQube utilizes a 4.4 khW motor that can accelerate from 0-40 kmph in just 4.2 seconds. Range is 145 km on a full charge with dual-battery setup. Top speed is 82 kmph. Charging the batteries from 0 to 80% takes around 5 hours when using the new 650 W charger.Just like iQube, TVS new Creon-based electric scooter will be getting a range of connectivity features via TVS SmartXonnect app. It supports Alexa and offers features such as live vehicle tracking, geo fencing, crash alert, anti-theft alert, navigation assist, last parked location and proactive vehicle diagnosis. The retro classic motorcycle has just been homologated. Registration formalities at regional transport authorities have commenced earlier this month. The said document also throws light on important specifications of the motorcycle.To be underpinned by the new J-Platform which debuted with the Meteor 350, the Hunter 350 is essentially a roadster variant of the donor model. In fact, the registration approval document clearly mentions the Meteor as the base model and Hunter as its variant. This means the duo will share majority of the components.Royal Enfield Hunter 350 Fully LeaksTo be launched on 7th Aug, specs and colours of Royal Enfield Hunter 350 leaked earlier today. Now, the first units of Hunter have started to arrive at dealer yards across India. The variant seen here, is likely to be the top Metro Retro variant, which will be offered in dual tone colour. The Hunter Rebel Blue colour seen in these leaked photos, is seen in dual tone colour scheme of blue and white.In terms of dimensions, the soon-to-be-launched Royal Enfield Hunter 350 is more compact than its cruiser sibling. At 1,370 mm, the wheelbase is 30 mm shorter while the length is down a good 85 mm at 2,055 mm. The new RE is also narrower and shorter with width and height of 800 mm and 1,370 mm respectively. The gross vehicle weight is rated at 360 kg and the Hunter is homologated to transport 2 persons.New Royal Enfield Hunter 350The compact dimensions are atypical of Royal Enfield motorcycles. With a sleek yet nostalgic design, the company will be aiming to bring in new breed of younger audience to its forum.We expect the twin down-tube frame of the Meteor to be carried forward but with a different geometry. The motorcycle will be suspended by traditional telescopic front forks and twin rear shocks adjustable for pre-load.
