New Hero Xpulse 300, Xtreme 300S Spied – Himalayan, Pulsar Rival ?

Hero was one of the OG companies to introduce India to ADVs, semi-faired and fully-faired bikesNew Hero Motorcycles Spied – Xpulse 300 and Xtreme 300S ?Hero MotoCorp is the largest motorcycle company in the world in terms of sales volume. But most of its sales come from entry level budget commuters that often don’t appeal to enthusiasts. So, the company had introduced its 200cc platform and had based XPulse 200 off-roader, XPulse 200T tourer and a fully-faired sporty Xtreme 200 S too. While XPulse 200 off-roader soon became an instant hit, the other two were not received that well. But Hero had promised the launch of their 300cc platform a couple of years ago which has not materialized until now. But it looks like they have interesting launches planned for 2023.Two new motorcycles have been spied testing in Leh Ladakh region by Gowtham Naidu. One is an adventure motorcycle and the other is a fully faired motorcycle. There is no confirmation as of now what these motorcycles are, but as per our best guess, these are likely to be upcoming Hero MotoCorp motorcycles.New Hero XPulse 300The main highlight of this development will be Hero XPulse 300 as Indian automotive enthusiasts had been waiting for a no-nonsense off-roader at an affordable price. Only Hero can pull something like this as we have seen with incredible value for money XPulse 200 that recently got a Rally Edition.New Hero Xpulse 300 Spied In Leh Ladakh?Back in 2020, Hero had showcased a 300cc engine mated to a trellis frame. Right now, Hero doesn’t have any trellis-frame product, except for the Hero 450RR Dakar Rally motorcycle (which isn’t road-legal). The showcased frame also had a red finish on its frame as the race-only 450RR.Hero Xpulse 300 Concept vs Production SpiedIn the video, Gowtham Naidu mentions that it is a Himalayan 450 test mule. But upon closer inspection, we could easily spot the same clutch cover, red trellis frame, front spoked wheels with petal disc, same swingarm and the chrome finished side stand from the concept shown in February 2020. The test mule also has the RJ 14 registration plate, which is Jaipur, where Hero R&D is located.New Hero XPulse 300 gets spoked wheels at the front and back. It is likely to retain the 21” at front and 18” at the rear as XPulse 200. But owing to larger size, it is likely to get fatter rubber. Beak at the front is also present, but is visually stubbier than on XPulse 200. The upcoming off-roader will compete with Royal Enfield Himalayan, KTM 390 Adventure, Yezdi Adventure and BMW G 310 GS that recently got colour upgrades.Hero Xpulse 300 Concept vs Production SpiedNew Hero Xtreme 300SComing to Hero’s fully-faired 300cc test mule, it does look like a sizeable product and not lean and sharp like KTM RC 390. Going with previous fully-faired Hero bikes like Karizma ZMR, we can expect Xtreme 300S to be a decently large product. Xtreme 300S gets neatly designed fairing, alloy wheels, sporty clip-on handlebars and a lot more.Xtreme 300S is likely to get the same 300 cc engine as the XPulse 300 but in a different state of tune to suit the character of the bike. It will get road-spec tyres unlike AT tyres on XPulse 300. If Hero pulls off the design well, we might witness popularity of Hero’s fully-faired products going up significantly. In effect, 300S would be a fitting alternative to current faired machines like RC 390, BMW G 310 RR, and Apache RR 310.Hero Xtreme 300S Fully Faired Motorcycle?Specs & LaunchWe can expect the engine to displace a little over 300cc and make almost 27-30 bhp and around 25 Nm of torque. Both XPulse 300 and Xtreme 300S will get the same engines. Hero is also likely to introduce an XPulse 300T, a touring version of this platform at a later date.If everything goes according to Hero’s roadmap, we can expect both XPulse 300 and Xtreme 300S to launch in early 2023. In typical Hero MotoCorp fashion, upcoming XPulse 300 and Xtreme 300S will be extremely value for money. They will undercut competition by a significant margin too.Source More

With electric two-wheeler sales registering strong growth, it’s an opportune time for OEMs to expand their EV portfolioFirst spy shot of TVS Creon Electric Scooter?India’s third largest two-wheeler manufacturer, TVS has allocated funds worth Rs 1,000 crore for development of new electric vehicles. It will include electric scooters, motorcycles and three-wheelers. One of the upcoming electric scooters could be based on the Creon Concept that was showcased at 2018 Auto Expo. A test mule with similar design was recently spotted on road tests in Bengaluru.TVS had marked its entry in EV space with iQube and recently launched the updated 2022 model. A total of three variants are on offer, iQube, iQube S and iQube ST. While the new iQube offers higher range and new features, its design and styling are largely the same as the earlier model. Among the list of cosmetic changes are 10 new colour options.2023 TVS Creon Electric ScooterIn comparison to iQube, TVS new Creon-based electric scooter will have sharper, more aggressive styling. While iQube comes across as classy and elegant, TVS new electric scooter is likely to get a sporty, maxi-styled profile. It will be positioned primarily as a performance-oriented two-wheeler, as compared to the utilitarian iQube. Some key features that the test mule reveals include an aggressive, muscular front fascia, large instrument panel, step-up seat design and integrated grab rails. Some features such as the rectangular rear view mirrors appear to be borrowed from iQube.TVS Creon ConceptA number of other components could also be borrowed from iQube to reduce development and production cost. Riding posture seems fairly comfortable with low-seat height and ergonomically-placed handlebar. The seat is long and wide and there’s ample space for pillion rider as well.TVS Creon-based electric scooter performanceAs compared to iQube, TVS Creon-based electric scooter is likely to have higher numbers in terms of things like power output, acceleration, top speed, etc. Creon Concept showcased at 2018 Auto Expo was equipped with triple battery packs that generated 12 kW of power. The scooter’s range was claimed at around 80 km and it could accelerate from 0 to 60 kmph in 5.1 seconds. For practical purposes, TVS new electric scooter could utilize a tweaked version of the existing powertrain used with new iQube. Top-spec variant of the new iQube is equipped with dual battery packs. These are IP67 rated against dust and water. The battery packs are enclosed inside high strength aluminium extrusion casing, which ensures effective protection against the elements.TVS Creon ConceptiQube utilizes a 4.4 khW motor that can accelerate from 0-40 kmph in just 4.2 seconds. Range is 145 km on a full charge with dual-battery setup. Top speed is 82 kmph. Charging the batteries from 0 to 80% takes around 5 hours when using the new 650 W charger.Just like iQube, TVS new Creon-based electric scooter will be getting a range of connectivity features via TVS SmartXonnect app. It supports Alexa and offers features such as live vehicle tracking, geo fencing, crash alert, anti-theft alert, navigation assist, last parked location and proactive vehicle diagnosis. Royal Enfield Hunter 350 Fully Leaks – Blue And White Dual Tone

Critical sub-systems like engine, frame, suspension, braking system, etc., will be carried over from the well-established Meteor 350New Royal Enfield Hunter 350. Credit – BK SAHAThe eagerly awaited Royal Enfield Hunter 350, a new derivative of the two wheeler brand’s new 350 cc platform is days away from its launch. The retro classic motorcycle has just been homologated. Registration formalities at regional transport authorities have commenced earlier this month. The said document also throws light on important specifications of the motorcycle. To be underpinned by the new J-Platform which debuted with the Meteor 350, the Hunter 350 is essentially a roadster variant of the donor model. In fact, the registration approval document clearly mentions the Meteor as the base model and Hunter as its variant. This means the duo will share majority of the components.Royal Enfield Hunter 350 Fully LeaksTo be launched on 7th Aug, specs and colours of Royal Enfield Hunter 350 leaked earlier today. Now, the first units of Hunter have started to arrive at dealer yards across India. The variant seen here, is likely to be the top Metro Retro variant, which will be offered in dual tone colour. The Hunter Rebel Blue colour seen in these leaked photos, is seen in dual tone colour scheme of blue and white. In terms of dimensions, the soon-to-be-launched Royal Enfield Hunter 350 is more compact than its cruiser sibling. At 1,370 mm, the wheelbase is 30 mm shorter while the length is down a good 85 mm at 2,055 mm. The new RE is also narrower and shorter with width and height of 800 mm and 1,370 mm respectively. The gross vehicle weight is rated at 360 kg and the Hunter is homologated to transport 2 persons.New Royal Enfield Hunter 350The compact dimensions are atypical of Royal Enfield motorcycles. With a sleek yet nostalgic design, the company will be aiming to bring in new breed of younger audience to its forum. We expect the twin down-tube frame of the Meteor to be carried forward but with a different geometry. The motorcycle will be suspended by traditional telescopic front forks and twin rear shocks adjustable for pre-load. The previous spyshots confirmed that the Hunter 350 will adopt 17-inch alloy wheels. The front and rear tyre sections are 110 mm and 140 mm respectively. Just like the Meteor, the braking system will be composed of twin-piston 300 mm front and single-piston 270 mm rear disc brakes (both floating calipers), governed by Dual-channel ABS. A semi-digital instrument cluster with tripper turn-by-turn navigation system is expected to be on offer.New Royal Enfield Hunter 350Medium displacement kingLeaked document confirms that the Meteor’s 349 cc motor will be carried forward without significant changes, and it will be rated at 14.87 kW (20.24 hp) at 6,100 rpm. While nothing is mentioned about the transmission, we can be sure that the 5-speed unit will also be a carryover but there could be some slight difference in gear ratios or final drive ratio to impart a character that suits a roadster. The air/oil-cooled fuel-injected motor is a significant step-up in the refinement department compared to the old thumpers.Royal Enfield has been the undisputed leader of the mid-displacement motorcycle segment in the country. The competition couldn’t really make a dent but not for the lack of trying. With the Hunter 350, RE will be looking to consolidate its strong position. The newly launched TVS Ronin 250 will be the Hunter’s primary rival. Expect launch price to be in the Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 1.7 lakh range – ex showroom.Source More

2022 Mahindra XUV400 Electric SUV Spied – New Details Revealed

XUV400 will be longer than XUV300 and will have similar dimensions and proportions as SsangYong Tivoli2022 Mahindra XUV400 Electric SUV SpiedMahindra has firmly established itself as a UV maker and not a carmaker in India. Mahindra has been slowly phasing out everything that ain’t an SUV or a MUV. KUV100 100 and Marazzo remain, but they hardly sell, as seen in our sales breakup. In June 2022 Marazzo sold just 124 units and KUV100 sold 0. Ouch! After setting foot in UV segment, Mahindra now wants to do the same thing with EV segment. Right now, Tata Motors is the king of electric car segment and Mahindra wants to eat into its share. In this light, Mahindra has bet big on EVs and will unveil five new global electric SUVs under Born Electric series on August 15.But they are global electric SUVs and won’t come cheap. So, for mainstream market where Nexon EV has a stronghold, Mahindra will launch the XUV400 electric. We have seen spy shots of XUV400 electric in the factory before. But now, it is found testing on road, credit to YouTube channel Auto Comparo.Mahindra XUV400 Electric SUVThe main highlight of XUV400 electric is that it is not a chopped SsangYong Tivoli to fit under 4 meters. SsangYong Tivoli was chopped up to create XUV300 to get the B-segment tax benefits. But for EVs, that doesn’t hold at all. S0, Mahindra has chosen to retain Tivoli’s original length which will be around 4.2m.[embedded content][embedded content]This size increment makes sure that XUV400’s boot space doesn’t suck like XUV300’s. Also, its proportions will be nicer. The test mule is heavily camouflaged, but we can immediately recognise the XUV300 Electric concept that Mahindra showcased at 2020 Auto Expo. It has the same shape for front headlights and boomerang-shaped LED DRLs. The futuristic LED bulbs in concept will be replaced to accommodate practical bulbs.XUV400 Electric retains the closed-off grille and lower bumper design from its concept though. Production-spec model has a small air dam at the bottom which was closed off in the concept. Interior, however, was similar to the outgoing XUV300 and we expect Mahindra to give enough wow factors like Adreno-X infotainment and more.Powertrain & LaunchMahindra has also stated that XUV400 Electric will source high-energy-dense NMC cells from LG Chem. NMC cells are superior to the cylindrical LFP cells found on Nexon EV and EV Max. With this move, XUV300 Electric might be more powerful and have a longer range than Tata’s EVs.2022 Mahindra XUV400 Electric SUV SpiedIn effect, we can expect around 150 bhp of power and over 400 km of range from a single charge. This will be enough to compete against the current highest-selling EVs, Tata Nexon EV Prime and Nexon EV Max. Mahindra hasn’t yet announced a timeline for the launch of XUV400 Electric. But we can expect it to launch by the end of this year or Q1 2023. When launched, it will have all the features XUV300 has and then more.Currently, Nexon EV Prime prices start from Rs. 14.99 and get a 30.2 kWh battery and promise a claimed range of 312 km. Whereas, Nexon EV Max prices start from Rs. 18.34 lakh (both prices ex-sh) and get 40.5 kWh and promise a claimed range of 437 km. It will be interesting to see where Mahindra XUV400 Electric falls and how it will impact current electric car sales in India. More

Upcoming Royal Enfield 650cc Shotgun Stuck In Traffic – Spied

Royal Enfield Shogun 650 is expected to hit the Indian markets early next year and could be priced around Rs 3.5 lakhUpcoming Royal Enfield 650cc Shotgun Stuck In TrafficRoyal Enfield’s lineup will look very different in the next few years as the bikemaker is planning to launch multiple new models over the course of next five years. The company will be expanding its flagship 650 range by introducing various new models.Numerous spy shots of the upcoming 650cc motorcycles have been spied on roads since last year. Another test mule of the supposed Shotgun 650 has been spotted testing recently and spy shots of the same have been circulating on the internet. The latest spy shots show two production-ready prototypes of the twin-cylinder motorcycle.Royal Enfield 650cc Shotgun Stuck In TrafficTwo test mules of the upcoming Royal Enfield 650cc Shotgun have been spied together, credit to Motor Vaahan. They are stuck in traffic, giving us a closer look at the motorcycles. They are wearing hardly any camouflage, revealing finished body panels and fuel tank. This indicates that Royal Enfield is done with a major part of the developmental process for the bike. However, the recently spied test mules have a few subtle yet noticeable variations in comparison to the pre-production concept showcased earlier. The biggest difference is the split-style seats seen in the test units as opposed to a single rider’s seat shown in the concept model. The SG650 concept flaunted the looks of a single-seater bobber. It is likely that Royal Enfield will introduce multiple variants of Shotgun with multiple seating layouts.[embedded content][embedded content]From the looks of it, Shotgun 650 is more likely to be a 650cc equivalent of Classic 350 which is also available both in single- and dual-seat variants. The round headlight, side panels and fenders, all bear a striking resemblance to the concept. Unlike Cruiser 650, which is speculated to be named Super Meteor 650, this model gets centre-set footpegs and a straight handlebar.Expected Features & SpecsIn terms of features, it gets a twin-pod instrument cluster that will be a semi-digital unit instead of a fully digital unit seen in the SG650 concept. The smaller pod could be for Tripper Navigation which displays turn-by-turn navigation, although this feature is expected to be available as an optional accessory.Hardware configurations of Shotgun 650 will consist of a dual-cradle frame suspended on USD forks up front and twin shock absorbers at rear. Braking duties will be handled by single disc brakes at both ends and chewed down by ByBre callipers. These will be aided by a dual-channel ABS.Powering Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 will be the same 648cc oil-cooled, parallel-twin motor that performs duties on the current 650 Twins- Interceptor and Continental GT. This unit pushes out 47 bhp and 52 Nm of peak torque and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox via a slip and assist clutch. Apart from Shotgun 650, Royal Enfield also has plans to launch Classic 650, Meteor 650, Hunter 350. More

It is smaller and shorter in comparison to Classic and Meteor. Wheelbase is also smaller whereas width is more than Classis and less than Meteor. Gross volume weight is 360 kg, in comparison to 375 kg of Classic and 371 kg of Meteor. Hunter is likely to have a smaller fuel tank, as compared to 13-litre and 15-litre of Classic and Meteor, respectively. While Hunter’s kerb weight is not known at this point of time, it is likely to be around 160-170 kg. That’s a good 20-25 kg less than Classic (195 kg) and Meteor (191 kg). Being lightweight and using the same J-series 349.34 cc engine, Hunter 350 will have higher power-to-weight ratio. This will boost its capabilities in an urban environment. Opportunities for some high-speed fun on open roads and highways can also be explored.Royal Enfield Hunter 350 Spied UndisguisedHunter 350 featuresHunter 350 has retro styling with features such as round headlamp and rear view mirrors. Other key highlights include fork gaiters, multi-spoke alloy wheels, compact seat design and stubby exhaust. The bike will have relaxed ergonomics with centrally placed footpegs and slightly raised handlebar. It is likely that Hunter 350 will have a semi-digital instrument console. It is mated to a 5-speed constant mesh transmission. There are unlikely to be any performance tweaks for Hunter 350. Hunter 350 is scheduled to debut on August 7. It could be priced in the range of Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 1.7 lakh (ex-sh). In terms of pricing, it will take on rivals like TVS Ronin, Bajaj Dominar 250 and Yamaha FZ25. More

Honda 300cc Adventure Spied In India – Himalayan, 390 ADV Rival?

Honda CRF300L will get tough off-road components and 285 mm ground clearance to sustain any terrainImage for referenceCurrently, Honda India is the second-highest selling two-wheeler brand in India as seen in our retail sales chart for the month of June 2022. Honda sold 2,85,691 units in June 2022 as opposed to 1,96,785 units in June 2021 with 45.18% YoY growth. The Japanese brand currently has a 25.53% market share in the month of June 2022.Honda is set to launch a new vehicle in India on 8th of August 2022. In the teaser, Honda announced that the “Formidable” is arriving in India. The word formidable made us think that it will be the Forza maxi-scooter with either a 125cc, 150cc, or 350cc powertrain. We have covered Forza maxi-scooters in detail in a previous post.Honda CRF300L Spotted In IndiaBut Honda is making the news again as a CRF300L has been spotted in a showroom in India. Honda’s CRF range refers to the brand’s motocross and dual-sport motorcycles that are built for most trails or terrains mother Earth can throw at it. They are very popular among off-road enthusiasts worldwide. We have heard about the CRF190L that is rumoured to launch in India competing against Hero XPulse 200 4V that recently got a new Rally Edition variant and a Rally Kit too. But the CRF300L being spotted at a Honda dealership in India certainly raises questions.Honda CRF300L 300cc ADV spied in IndiaHonda did a similar thing back in 2020 when they displayed a Forza 300 maxi-scooter at a BigWing dealership in Gurgaon. Four units were also sold to the public too. Maybe this is a similar drill where they want to gain market opinion and feedback regarding a product or a product category.Honda CRF300L is a handsome-looking machine for off-road purists and it gets a purposeful design too. It gets a motocross-style body along with a small squared-off headlight, up-swept exhaust, engine guard, and more. Honda CRF300L gets a 21” spoked wheel at front and an 18” spoked wheel at the rear like XPulse 200 4V and are shod with knobby tires.Specs & CompetitionIt gets non-adjustable Showa long-travel 43 mm USD forks at front and prolink suspension at the rear carving out a massive 285 mm of ground clearance. Front disc brake is 256 mm and the rear disc is 220 mm in diameter. It gets regular halogen bulbs all around and a modern LCD dashboard for instrumentation. The engine displaces 286 cc and makes 27 bhp of power and 26.6 Nm of torque. It gets a slip assist clutch and a 6-speed gearbox too. Honda CRF300L weighs around 142 kg and has a tall seat height of 880 mm. Honda has even patented the motorcycle in India.Honda CRF300L patented in IndiaWe are not sure what is the purpose of this CRF300L in India. But, if Honda ever launches it in India, it will be a strong opponent to the XPulse 200 4V Rally Edition for extreme off-roading. Because lightness is the key factor in off-roading rather than outright speed and power. In this regard, CRF300L is more powerful and at the same time, is also lighter than XPulse 200 4V Rally Edition. If we look at hardcore competitors, we have imports like Kawasaki KX and KLX series of motocross bikes with either 250 or 450 cc engines.Other competitors for softcore trail riding and other terrains, it can be comparable to Royal Enfield Himalayan, Yezdi Adventure, and KTM 390 Adventure. We can see a steep price for CRF300L if it launches in India on August 8th instead of Forza maxi-scooter.Source More

New Hero Scooter Spied For First Time – NTorq, RayZR 125cc Rival?

New Hero scooter is likely to be powered by the same 124.6cc engine found on Destini 125 and Maestro Edge 125 with i3S techNew Hero 125cc Scooter SpiedHero MotoCorp is currently the highest-selling two-wheeler brand in India. Hero Splendor is the highest-selling motorcycle in India as seen in our top 10 motorcycle list for the month of June 2022. Splendor alone sells more than second and third highest selling motorcycles combined and is expected to stay that way for a long time. But in the scooter market of India, Hero has not had such a grand monopoly. Because that cake is still in Honda’s kitchen where the Activa is brewed. If we look at top 10 scooter list for the month of June 2022, Activa alone sells more than second highest to ninth highest selling vehicles combined. This says a lot about the scooter market in India.New Hero 125cc Scooter – Sporty DesignHero has scooters in its portfolio that rival Honda Activa series. At the lower end of the spectrum, Hero has Pleasure which is a 110cc scooter and at the top tier, it has Destini 125 and Maestro Edge 125. But as sales figures indicate, both 125cc scooters from Hero are not in top 10.It is not that Hero’s 125cc engine doesn’t have any sauce: It does. It makes 9 bhp of power and 10.4 Nm of torque. This engine is also mated to Hero’s proprietary i3S technology which enables a stop/start feature improving fuel efficiency. It is the style, form factor and character that both the Destini 125 and Maestro Edge 125 lacked. That’s where the new sporty scooter comes into play.New Hero 125cc Scooter SpiedThanks to Shifting-Gears, a new Hero scooter has been spied under testing with heavy camouflage. This new scooter dons a much more sporty and edgy design than the current scooters on sale by Hero. It gets an LED headlight set up on the front fascia like NTorq, RayZR and Avenis instead of on the handlebar like Activa, Jupiter and Access. This gives it a sporty appeal and enhances looks further, is an interesting LED DRL pattern. It is likely to be powered by 125cc engine.New Hero Scooter – Features & LaunchIt also gets storage compartments below the instrument console like other Hero scooters and will also get USB phone charging too. This upcoming scooter gets a switchable i3S button on the right switch gear. At the rear, it gets an ‘X’ shaped LED tail-light and normal halogen turn indicators.Hero should have given a smoked effect to the tail-light cover as they did with Xtreme 160R making it look sportier. A glaring omission on this scooter according to us, is an external fuel filler cap which would drastically aid user comfort while refueling.New Hero 125cc Scooter SpiedSuspension setup is a normal telescopic unit at front and twin shockers at the rear. Hero 125cc sporty scooter might get 12” wheels that are machine cut alloys in this top-spec trim along with a front disc brake too. We can expect steel wheels and drum brakes with lower variants. We also expect Hero to give the XTec system on this scooter too. The instrumentation screen is new which is a rectangular fully-digital LCD panel with expected features like trip meters, odometer, clock, fuel-level indicator and Bluetooth connectivity with notifications and turn-by-turn navigation.Hero MotoCorp has not revealed any details about this upcoming scooter yet. But it could be launched around the festive season and is likely to be priced on par with Maestro Edge. When launched, this sporty 125cc scooter will compete with other sporty scooters like TVS NTorq, Honda Grazia, Suzuki Avenis, and Yamaha RayZR. Of these, Ntorq, Avenis, RayZR regularly feature in the top 10 selling scooter list. Hero would be aiming to eat into their share with this new 125cc scooter.Source More
