New Vespa 300cc Scooter Spied Testing In India – Launch In 2023

This 300cc engine is said to be similar to 300cc scooters offered by Keeway – It makes 18.4 bhp of power and 22 Nm of torqueImage for illustration. Credit – ScooteriaThe Indian scooter market was not mature enough to embrace unconventional products like Kinetic Blaze back in the day. Fast forward to 2023, we have sporty scooters in the form of Yamaha Aerox 155. 300cc scooters have sprung up too and if you want a grotesque, BMW even has C 400 GT that costs an absolute bomb.Vespa being a stalwart in the scooter field can’t shy away from offering a 300cc scooter in an important market like India. New Vespa GTS 300cc scooter has been spied testing in India and is likely to go on sale soon. Let’s take a look.New Vespa 300cc Scooter SpiedThere used to be multiple speculations in place since 2020 that Vespa is working on a larger 300cc engine. Followed by the economic crisis post Covid-19, this development was somewhat muted. In 2023, it seems to be undergoing testing for an imminent launch in near future.Vespa GTS line stands for Granturismo Sport and has a larger body than other Vespa scooters owing to its touring credentials. As the name suggests, Vespa GTS 300cc scooter is touring-oriented and hence offers a lot of space for both rider and pillion. The engine seems to be a much larger unit than Vespa’s current flagship Racing Sixties 150’s engine.New Vespa 300cc Scooter SpiedUpon closer inspection, this doesn’t look like the 2023 model that was showcased at 2022 EICMA. It is not yet sure if this test mule will get the same TFT colour screen as found on the GTS 300 SuperTech variant sold globally. The test mule spotted in India had a phone holder or testing equipment mounted on top of its instrument cluster.Another point to be noted is that global models get disc brakes at both front and back. The test mule that was spotted in India featured rear drum brakes. This might be a cost-cutting measure to offer 2023 Vespa GTS 300 at an attractive price point.Specs & FeaturesOther notable cost cutting is evident in the engine cooling system. While the Indian test mule is an air-cooled unit, globally, Vespa offers a liquid-cooled engine. The 300cc engine in question also does duties on recently launched Keeway Vieste 300 and Sixties 300i. On Keeway products, this engine is said to be on a different tune, while Vespa will offer its scooter with a different tune.Specifications and features including engine displacement might vary compared to international spec model. When launched, it will rival both Keeway scooters with 300cc engines and prices can fall between Rs. 3 – 3.5 lakh (ex-sh).Source More

Renault Kiger Electric SUV Spied – Upcoming Tata Punch EV Rival

Renault Kiger electric SUV is likely to make debut in 2023Renault Kiger Electric SUV SpiedRenault India has not had a great year, where 2022 is concerned. Their annual sales were down by more than 9% to a little over 87k units. 2022 also saw Renault discontinue one of their iconic cars to be ever on sale in India, the Duster SUV. But that was 2022. It is now 2023, and it seems like Renault India is getting ready to have a great year ahead. At the 2020 Auto Expo, Renault India had showcased Kwid electric and had announced plans to launch the same within 2 years. It is 2023 now, and we have not seen the Kwid EV till now. That is likely because, instead of Kwid EV, Renault is getting ready to give us Kiger EV. The first spy shots of the Kiger Electric SUV are now out.Renault Kiger Electric SUV SpiedYes. Kiger EV. Most of us were expecting Renault to launch Kwid EV, as a version of the same, has been launched in many countries already. But with the Kiger electric spy shots now emerging on the internet, it seems like more or less certain which will be Renault’s first electric car in India.Kiger EV spy shots are credit to Talking Cars channel. Seen in a shade of blue, similar to the one which is already on offer with Kiger petrol, Kiger Electric is identical in design to its ICE counterpart. Charging socket is placed under the front logo.Renault Kiger Electric SUV SpiedRenault Kiger Electric interiors too have been spied. Layout is similar to the Kiger petrol, except for the missing gear lever. Instead Kiger EV gets buttons and a rotating knob for selecting drive mode.  Hand brake lever can also be seen. Door panels, steering wheel, seat fabric all are similar to petrol Kiger.Expected Specs, RangeRenault Kiger EV could get a similar battery and electric motor that is on offer with Kwid EV in China. It gets a 26.8 kWh battery pack which will power the motor to deliver 44 hp and 125 Nm torque. Claimed range could be about 300 kms. Considering Kiger is a bit bigger in size, it could accommodate a larger battery pack than the Kwid EV. This will help in delivering a higher range, of maybe 350 kms.Currently, Renault has Kwid, Kiger and Triber on sale. All powered by petrol engine option. Considering these three cars are built on the same platform, it is likely that Renault could launch a Kwid EV or Triber EV in the future. Kiger’s cousin, Magnite is also likely to benefit and we could see Nissan Magnite electric launch later this year.Renault Kiger Electric SUV SpiedWith the launch of their first electric car, 2023 seems to be the year Renault India could be looking forward to. Renault Kiger EV will take on the likes of upcoming Tata Punch EV and Citroen eC3. Renault could price the Kiger EV in the Rs 10-15 lakh range. More details will be revealed in the coming months.Source More

New Electric Scooter Spied Testing In Bangalore – River EV

Upcoming River EV has been spied testing in Bangalore – Is likely to boast a range of up to 180 km on a single chargeNew Electric Scooter – River EV SpiedIndia has one of the most competitive two wheeler industries in the world. Despite that, it has not stopped new players from entering the segment. In the recent past, we have seen many new players enter, especially in the electric two wheeler segment, and making their mark (Ather, Ola, etc).Come 2023, and there will be many more who will be entering this competitive market. One of them could be River EV. This Bangalore based startup is currently testing a prototype electric scooter. Spy shots of the same have now leaked on the internet.New Electric Scooter SpiedUnofficially known as the River EV, its design seems to be inspired from Yamaha Neo’s electric scooter. The effect is radiated especially with River EV getting a somewhat similar front apron design with the twin quadrilateral LED DRLs and headlight elements inside them. The test mule was completely draped in camouflage, leaving design elements to the viewer’s imagination. Unlike Yamaha Neo’s, River electric scooter goes for a rugged, yet minimalist appeal. This is true when side panels housing large black elements are concerned. There is a single-piece grab handle that seems to have provision to mount a luggage rack.New Electric Scooter – River EV SpiedOn the test mule, the rear number plate holder is zip tied to this grabrail. Production-spec model will get a neater arrangement. There is a horizontally laid out free-standing digital display which is highly likely to be a touchscreen unit and forms instrumentation of this scooter. Battery specs are not yet known. It comes equipped with a hub motor mounted in its rear wheel.River electric scooter gets regular telescopic front forks, while rear might get twin shock absorbers or a single-sided unit. There is a disc brake at front and rear might also feature a disc brake as there are two brake fluid reservoirs mounted on the handlebar. Speaking of handlebars, River EV gets clip-on handlebars like seen with sporty motorcycles. What To Expect? There is a high chance that the upcoming River electric scooter won’t feature a touchscreen. We say this because there are two buttons beside the display to cycle through as we see with non-touch TFT displays. Another thing to note is that River EV is a step-through scooter and bears all the practicality that comes with this layout.New Electric Scooter – River EV SpiedSpeaking of River EV, this startup electric 2W brand was founded by Aravind Mani and Vipin George in 2020. The idea behind the brand is said to be multi-utility electric scooters. With a choice in battery pack sizes, River electric scooter might boast a range of up to 180 km and a top speed of up to 80 km/h as per reports. Launch might happen in 2023. More

Harley Davidson 350cc, 500cc First Photos Leak – Royal Enfield Rival

With lower pricing, Harley-Davidson X350 and X500 will mainly target developing countries like India, ASEAN region and the likesNew Harley Davidson 350cc MotorcycleHarley-Davidson has been expanding its portfolio. Even though the company has been introducing new motorcycles in varied segments, there hasn’t been much success when budget and inexpensive motorcycles are concerned. Sure, we got Street 750. And later, Street Rod 750 was launched with improved quality. But their sales numbers failed to increase and Harley-Davidson’s dream of budget motorcycles still remained at large.American brand Harley-Davidson is known to offer quintessential cruiser bikes with a roaring V-twin engine. It has been one of the most popular and sought-after motorcycle brands where cruisers and choppers are considered. With prices on the higher side, its products are not often accessible to people looking for a cruiser on a budget.Harley Davidson 350cc Photos LeakThis is why Royal Enfield’s 650cc platform is currently one of the most popular choices. Not only RE 650 twins are top sellers in its category in India, but are also generating good sales outside India. Apart from offering good quality and performance, another reason for RE’s success in the 650cc segment is due to its aggressive pricing. To match in pricing, Harley-Davidson is now sourcing motorcycles from QJ Motor, parent to Keeway and Benelli brands that are currently on sale in India. Two motorcycles are in the works between both brands codenamed HD350 and HD500. First images of these motorcycles have now leaked online.New Harley Davidson 350cc MotorcycleIn reality, they are highly likely to be called X350 and X500 as seen in the leaked spy shots. The smaller X350 looks a lot like 338R concept design shown in 2019. It was supposed to be equipped with Benelli 302S’ 338cc engine. Times have changed and there is a new 353cc version of that engine in production. Hence the name X350.X350 gets a frame that is quite similar to QJ SRK350 sold overseas. Both motorcycles seem to share their USD forks at front, petal disc brakes and alloy wheel design. This 350cc engine makes around 36 bhp and doesn’t seem adequate when 195 kg weight is considered. In contrast, SRK350 weighs only 176 kg.New Harley Davidson 500cc MotorcycleThis is the one that is likely to make a lot of buzz. Harley-Davidson X500 will be vastly similar to Benelli Leoncino 500 that is sold in India. It gets a 500cc parallel-twin engine and makes 47 bhp of power. Going with its displacement, X500’s 207 kg of weight seems to be right for the segment.New Harley Davidson 500cc MotorcycleLeoncino 500 and X500 will share chassis, braking components and suspension as well. X500 dons a larger conventional dual disc setup than X350’s smaller petal discs. Stopping power comes from 4-pot calipers. With these motorcycles, Harley-Davidson is set to venture into budget cruiser motorcycles. But those who were expecting a V-Twin with belt drive, will be slightly disappointed. Both these motorcycles are expected to be launched in India next year.Source More

Royal Enfield Scram 650 Rear Subframe Spied – Single Exhaust

When compared to Interceptor 650, RE Scram 650 will be considerably lighter owing to its single exhaustRoyal Enfield Scram 650Royal Enfield is currently expanding its 650cc portfolio apart from expanding its 350cc and 450cc portfolio. There was an internal document used in one of the meetings of Royal Enfield. That document got leaked online. It revealed that there are multiple new motorcycles planned for launch. One of these new motorcycles is a cruiser and a tourer which seem to be the recently revealed Super Meteor 650 and Super Meteor 650 Tourer. There was also a bobber, an ADV and a scrambler. There have been multiple sightings of a Royal Enfield Scrambler based on a 650cc platform. Test mules are spotted both overseas and also here in India. Recent test mules divulge further info on this upcoming RE Scram 650.RE Scram 650 Rear SubframeMechanically, upcoming scrambler by Royal Enfield is likely to be kept as is. A slight retune to suit a scrambler character is likely. This is a potent 648 cc parallel-twin engine that generates around 46 bhp and 52 Nm of torque. This is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and gets a slipper clutch and oil cooling. The chassis on which Royal Enfield’s 650cc platform is based will undergo slight modification to suit different characters of intended variations. On Scram 650, Royal Enfield has modified its rear subframe which gives it that much-needed scrambler aesthetic. There is a single-seat setup, which gets a ribbed pattern cover.Royal Enfield Scram 650Seating posture is fairly upright with a neutral riding posture. Footpeg placement for rider seems to be slightly rear set which should add that sense of sportiness. Handlebars and instrumentation seem to be lifted off the recently launched Hunter 350. A tripper screen was not found on this test mule and might be made standard with production-spec model.Hardware ComponentsOne of the main highlights of this upcoming RE Scram 650 is its single exhaust. It gets a different exhaust header rerouting exhaust gases into one channel. This will reduce weight considerably and make the motorcycle peppier, which is a win-win situation. According to the report, this new exhaust packed a lot of bass and was slightly louder as well.In terms of componentry, Royal Enfield is offering front USD forks and LED headlights like the ones found on Super Meteor 650. There is exposed wiring that seems to be testing new LED turn indicators.Royal Enfield Scram 650RE Scram 650 still rides on spoked wheels which seem to be 17” in size. Wrapped to these wheels are block pattern tyres that should ensure slight trailing capability. Given Royal Enfield’s extensive testing, Scram 650 seems to be far from launch. When launched, pricing might be around Rs. 3.5 lakh.Source More
