2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Spied – 2 Test Mules, New Details

With improved performance numbers and new features, Himalayan 450 will be a better match against rivals like BMW G310GS, KTM 390 ADV and upcoming Hero Xpulse 3002023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450Spied on road tests, Himalayan 450 is expected to debut at the EICMA 2023 that will be held in November this year. Launch in India is likely to take place next year. With the latest iteration of Himalayan, the focus is on overcoming limitations associated with the smaller capacity Himalayan 411. Furthermore, new features such as USD front forks will ensure tangible improvements in ride dynamics. Two test mules of the new 2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 have now been spied. Thanks to these, we now have a closer look at the upcoming Himalayan 450. As compared to the current model, Himalayan 450 comes across as an evolved machine. It has a contemporary design with a largely rounded appearance that’s more pleasing to the eyes. Some of the retro flavour has been retained, as evident in features such as round headlamp, rear view mirrors and instrument dial.2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 New Spy ShotsDimensionally, Himalayan 450 will be quite close in comparison to current Himalayan. Things like seat height are expected to be around 800 mm, which is kind of a sweet spot in terms of achieving optimal balance and handling. Current Himalayan is 2,190 mm long, 840 mm wide and has ground clearance of 220 mm.Riding comfort seems just right, made possible with centrally mounted footpegs and ergonomically placed handlebar. Scooped-up rider seat should be able to provide adequate lumbar support. Just like other Royal Enfield bikes, customization options will be available for Himalayan 450. Apart from USD forks, other updates could include ride modes, GPS navigation, assist and slipper clutch and ride-by-wire system.2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 SpiedIt will get a fully digital instrument cluster, a first for RE. While Himalayan 450 will be a better equipped machine, Royal Enfield will ensure that it continues to offer the price advantage. Competitive pricing has always been an USP for the company and it will be available with Himalayan 450.2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 SpiedAs compared to current Himalayan that retails at a starting price of around Rs 2.2 lakh, Himalayan 450 is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 2.60 lakh to Rs 2.70 lakh. At this price point, it will work out cheaper than most other rivals including 390 Adventure that starts at Rs 3.04 lakh. All prices Ex-sh.Himalayan 450 performance, specsWhile current Himalayan is among the popular choices in its segment, enthusiasts have often found its 24.3 bhp and 32 Nm output a bit lacking at times. It’s especially true when negotiating steep inclines combined with loose gravel or muddy conditions. Himalayan 450 can do much better, as it is expected to generate around 30 bhp and 40 Nm.2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 SpiedIt may not be possible for Himalayan 450 to match each and every feature available with rivals. For example, KTM 390 Adventure comes with features such as state-of-the-art 5-inch full colour TFT display, WP APEX suspension, offroad mode, offroad ABS, cornering ABS and traction control system. However, Himalayan 450 will definitely narrow the performance gap. Combined with competitive pricing, Himalayan 450 could emerge as another bestseller for Royal Enfield. More

2023 Yamaha R15, FZX, MT15 Launch Soon – First Photos Leak

The first units of 2023 Yamaha R15, MT 15 and FZ-X have arrived at select dealerships and a launch is likely to happen on Feb 132023 Yamaha R15, MT15, FZ-X Launch SoonYamaha banks on its premium 2W range like no other. Today, Yamaha is probably the only 2W manufacturer with significant volumes, without offering budget commuters or scooters. The company’s premium motorcycle range includes YZF-R15, MT-15 and FZ-X.Yamaha is keen on reviving some of its legacy brands like RX into India, and is actively considering ways to introduce an ADV within the 125-155cc segment as well. Ahead of all that, Yamaha is now making its premium motorcycle range updated for MY2023. In that regard, 2023 Yamaha R15, MT15 and FZ-X are getting new Editions. Let’s take a look.2023 Yamaha R15, MT15Recently in Indonesia, we saw Yamaha launching a new Aggressive Grey variant for R15. It was a stunning combo with black USD forks, Grey base paint and trickles of Neon on fairing. Alloys were completely Neon too. This is not the same Edition Yamaha is launching in India. Spy shots reveal golden USD forks like on every other R15.The base paint is still Grey, similar to Aggressive Grey launched in Indonesia with little splashes of Yellow. Instead of matching alloy wheel colour with this Yellow, Yamaha is offering a golden finish. Something similar is offered with the R15M World GP 60th Edition. There is a gloss black element on the front fairing above the headlight, similar to R15M Metallic Grey.2023 Yamaha R15 Arrives At DealerMY2023 new edition MT 15, however, gets a gloss black shade. It resembles the Metallic Black colour Yamaha offers. But the new edition gets Red alloys found on the Ice Fluo – Vermillion variant. It isn’t as flashy as the Cyan-painted wheels on the Cyan Storm variant, though. A combination of Metallic Black and Fluorescent Red wheels was not offered before by Yamaha.2023 Yamaha MT15 Arrives At DealerFZ-X is getting a new edition for MY2023 as well. This new model has also reached a few dealerships ahead of launch and has been papped alongside MY2023 R15 and MT 15. It gets a new Blue shade and doesn’t resemble Yamaha FZ-X’s Metallic Blue option. Instead, it resembles the Racing Blue shade offered with the MT 15 and R15.New FZ-X Gets Dual-Channel ABSApart from this new colour, new MY2023 FZ-X will also feature dual-channel ABS, something which was missing in outgoing model. Dual-channel ABS is likely to be offered as standard and is not exclusive to this new edition. That said, Yamaha might limit dual-channel ABS just for this new edition and pit it as top-spec trim for FZ-X.2023 Yamaha FZ-X Arrives At DealerMechanically, there won’t be any changes on R15 and MT-15. Only FZ-X will get an upgrade in braking hardware in the form of dual-channel ABS. Both R15 and MT 15 will continue to offer 18.4 PS of power and 14.2 Nm of torque from its 155cc liquid-cooled VVA engine, mated to a 6-speed transmission. FZ-X will continue to offer 12.4 PS of power and 13.3 Nm of torque with a 5-speed gearbox. More

New Aprilia 300cc Sports Bike Spied In India – RC 390, Apache 310 Rival

A single-cylinder engine displacing between 300 to 400 cc and power figures to match its rivals are expected from new Aprilia sports bikeNew Aprilia 300cc-400cc sports bike for India spied. Images – EVO IndiaThe premium end of 300cc sports bike segment is currently occupied by KTM RC 390, TVS Apache RR 310, BMW G 310 RR and Honda CBR300R. Kawasaki Ninja 300 comes close with its Rs. 3.4 lakh price tag. Keeway has spotted an opportunity here and recently launched K 300 R. However, Italians have been surprisingly absent from this segment.Sure, we had the Benelli 302 R with its massive body and dual disc brake setup at the front which looked like a proper superbike. But it was offset by its heft and after that, no Italians have ever stepped into this segment. Until now. There is a new kid on the block who is under testing to have a piece of this pie. It is a new Aprilia sports bike spotted testing in Baramati.New Aprilia Sports BikeThe new motorcycle is wrapped to the gills with camouflage and has testing equipment strapped on its back monitoring various parameters. Design language is mostly in line with what this Italian marque offers under its RS lineup. In effect, it looks like a toned-down version of an RS 660, which is not a bad thing in any way.Even though it was clad with camouflage, the front fascia does resemble that of an RS 660. It gets a twin headlight setup with a pilot lamp in the centre. These are likely to be LEDs as every other bike in this segment provides LEDs. Taillights and blinkers are likely to be LED too.New Aprilia 300cc-400cc sports bike for India spiedSeating posture looks fairly committed. There is a decent amount of lean to reach its handlebars and rider footpegs are rear-set. This gives a lot of leverage for the rider to tip the motorcycle into a corner. The front wind deflector looks to be a little lower in angle and its chunky fuel tank seems to provide enough grip for the rider.Componentry is likely to change until it reaches the series production phase. That said, this test mule offers USD forks at front and a mono-shock unit at the rear. Swingarm looks like it is an aluminium unit and not a box-section unit. Disc brakes at front are skinny, like the ones found on current gen KTM RC 390.Engine & PricingEngine specs are not yet known. It can be speculated that it would displace between 300cc to 400cc with a single-cylinder architecture and make around 35 to 40 bhp of power and 35 Nm of torque. Features like ride-by-wire, liquid cooling, slip and assist clutch, quick shifter (at least for upshifting), dual channel ABS, riding modes and a modern TFT display for instrumentation can be offered.New Aprilia 300cc-400cc sports bike for India spiedAprilia is not very popular in India where motorcycles are concerned, despite a strong presence globally. We get the RS and Tuono lineup in both middleweight and liter class segments. When Japanese offerings in middleweight and liter classes are brought into picture, Aprilia’s offerings come off as expensive. If only Aprilia had launched RS 150 and Tuono 150 in India and established a brand identity in the affordable sporty motorcycle segment, it could have been a lot easier to launch and market this upcoming motorcycle. That said, pricing can go to Rs. 3.5 lakh (ex-sh).Source More

2024 KTM RC 390, RC 125 Spied – Earlier Front Design Back?

A large chunk of buyers put-off by current RC design language, will be pleased with upcoming redesigned KTM RC 390 and 1252024 KTM RC 125 SpiedKTM has its roots firmly secured in India by partnering with Bajaj Auto. This way, KTM’s high-explosive performance motorcycles are made accessible to a mainstream audience. 2022 witnessed updates to most KTM products in India. Some were evolutionary, while some were just quality-of-life improvements.390 range of motorcycles are KTM’s forte. They have been very well received across the globe. KTM 390 range includes RC 390, Duke 390 and ADV 390. KTM has started work on updating the 390 range. Newer versions of 2024 Duke 390, Adventure 390 and Enduro 390 have already been spied. What about RC range? Those are getting a complete redesign too. New spy shots have emerged online.2024 KTM RC 390, RC 125 SpiedWhen the RC range was first launched, not everyone liked it. That said, people quickly appreciated the sportiness at a level never seen with motorcycles in the said segment. Over the years, bikers got accustomed to the unique look of the KTM RC range. But then, last year we saw a complete design overhaul of the RC range – transforming its alienist looks to a more conventional look. But that seems to have backfired. KTM fans are more drawn towards the old design. If the new spy shots are anything to go by, KTM is likely to bring back the old design in the 2024 RC range. The alienist look is back, but subtler than before. This is an ode to pleasing buyers wanting something that stands-out.2024 KTM RC 125 SpiedBoth RC 390 and RC 125 look completely identical where fairing and body panels are concerned. Engine casing for both look similar as well. Subframe is mostly exposed, ending in a sharp LED taillight, while there is a yellow-tinted visor at front. Tail-end is kept fairly clean too, revealing its fat tyre.In the front, suspension duties are handled by USD forks by WP. KTM’s new banana-shaped swingarm and a direct-acting rear mono-shock unit is the same with both RC 390 and RC 125 test mules. Differentiating factor between the RC 125 and RC 390 is in their front brakes. While RC 125 gets a round skinny rotor like found with outgoing RC 200. Whereas, RC 390 gets a conventional chunky rotor with a petal design.Specs & LaunchEngine is reportedly all-new. More power and torque is expected, ensuring an even thrilling riding experience. For reference, the current RC 390 makes 43 bhp of power and 36 Nm of torque. With RC 125, power is likely to still stay within the 15 bhp limit. This is so that it complies with A1 license norms in Europe.2024 KTM RC 390 SpiedWith the redesign, KTM is likely to attract a lot of buyers who had a thing for previous RC design language. All of the RC lineup including 125, 200, 390 and 990 are still under testing. Launch is likely to happen in 2024.Source More

A new EV startup based in Bengaluru is getting ready to launch World’s first fully forged carbon fiber electric motorcycleMagron Novus Electric Motorcycle SpiedEV scene in India is on the rise and there are more players now than there ever were. Bhavish Aggarwal led Ola Electric and is currently in the lead where two wheeler EV sales are concerned. Other players include Hero Electric, Ampere Electric, Okinawa, TVS, Bajaj, Hero MotoCorp, etc In November 2022, 2W EV sales stood at just over 75,000 units. With electric scooter and motorcycle sales on the rise, more and more new companies are getting ready to enter the market. One such company is Magron Novus which is eyeing premium electric motorcycle space. This is a segment where there are not many players as of now.Magron NovusIn the premium motorcycle space we have Bangalore based Ultraviolette, who recently launched F77 electric sportsbike at a starting price of Rs 3.8 lakh. Seems like soon there will be a rival in the form of Magron Novus Electric Motorcycle. It will be the world’s first fully forged carbon fiber electric motorcycle.Yes, you read that right. A fully forged carbon fiber body is set to be draped on a sporty electric motorcycle which is currently under testing. This Bengaluru-based startup is currently testing its maiden product. Thanks to automotive enthusiast Paul Thomas, we now have exclusive spy shots of this electric sports bike.Magron Novus Electric Motorcycle SpiedIt was spotted testing on the Outer Ring Road, wearing a green number plate that reads Magron Novus. Usually, test mules are seen with a red number plate, no matter what type of powertrain they are testing. This is a little unusual to see green plates on a test mule that don’t have any numbers. Front fascia is not visible from spy shots, but the company website has a teaser which shows presence of sequential LED DRLs, that might double up as turn indicators.Magron Novus Electric Motorcycle gets a full fairing which looks sleek and minimal in its appeal. Magron has stuck to minimalist design language instead of that of aggression. The overall product looks very appealing and sporty. There is a neatly integrated LED taillight and LED blinkers as well. It gets a rear mono-shock and a mid-mounted motor.Battery Specs, New FeaturesPowertrain details are not confirmed. But the company website reveals up to 7.5 kWh of battery pack. Magron Novus will come with AI, VCU, ADAS, RAS, 6-axis IMU, blind spot detection, lane-change warning, LDR, and secure access and we can expect more tech with a production-spec model.Magron Novus Electric Motorcycle SpiedBlind spot detection and ADAS on motorcycles are unique and are expected to generate a lot of buzz in the industry. There will be forced induction to actively cool batteries and an acoustic sound chamber to mimic ICE sounds. Magron Novus looked fairly production-ready and could be launched this year.Forged carbon, which is found on Magron Novus, has some advantages over regular woven carbon fiber. When new, this tech was only found on expensive supercars like the Lamborghini Huracan Performante. It is made of chopped-up carbon fiber strands instead of woven fabric and is bonded by epoxy resin and baked in an autoclave. Toyota GR Yaris and GR Corolla both have a forged carbon fiber roof. But Toyota chose to cover it with regular woven carbon fiber effect vinyl for some reason, while it is proudly embraced and displayed on a Huracan Performante. More

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 All Digital Speedo, Console – Spied

With a new engine displacing around 450cc, Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is likely to make around 30 bhp of power and 40 Nm of torque2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450Royal Enfield’s extended testing periods are not a new thing. After launching Super Meteor 650 recently, RE is set to launch their new 450cc platform spawning multiple derivatives. One of them is the much awaited Himalayan 450.Royal Enfield’s future proposed models based on this 450cc platform are five in number. Out of which, Himalayan 450 and Hunter 450 are likely to be lead vehicles and will spawn derivatives like a tourer, cafe-racer with fairing and a full-fledged Scrambler as well. First of the bunch is likely to be Himalayan 450 and undergoes most frequent testing.Himalayan 450 All Digital ScreenCurrently, Royal Enfield Himalayan 411 features a busy cluster of dials. It has an analog speedo with a tiny LCD screen below it for odo, gear position indicator, and some other info. Besides that, we have a smaller analog dial for the tachometer. Below it are two circular dials. One analog fuel meter and one digital compass.A circular Tripper navigation screen is also there in this already-busy cluster in a jugaad fashion. Overall, it looks all cluttered. With the new gen Himalayan, RE has solved that problem. New H450 features just one large circular display which is likely to be an LCD or even a TFT unit. This large canvas should be enough to show all of the info that old Himalayan did.2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 digital speedoAnother appreciable aspect of this new instrument cluster is that it is angled toward the rider. When touring, it falls into the rider’s peripheral vision and negates a need to look away from the road in order to grasp vehicular data. This might not be an ideal solution when standing and blasting on the trails. But, that is not likely to be an everyday occurrence.Specs & FeaturesWe already knew that Royal Enfield has equipped the upcoming H450 with USD forks. These new spy shots reveal that it is from Showa. They don’t seem to be adjustable for rebound and compression, though. However, this is still a test mule and production-spec model might feature rebound and compression adjustability.Rear will be suspended by a mono-shock unit and is also likely to be from Showa. Exact engine specs are not yet known. But it will displace around 450 cc to make around 30 bhp of power and 40 Nm of torque. Power will be regulated by a 6-speed transmission and is likely to feature liquid cooling. There are a lot of rivals getting prepped. Sharpening their blades to rival Himalayan 450 is the new Hero MotoCorp Xpulse which is likely to feature around 400cc engine and 2023 KTM 390 Adventure.Source More

Yamaha FZ-X Dual ABS Launch Soon – New Colour, Golden Alloys Spied

The TVC shoot for new FZ-X is going on in Kerala and a launch is likely to happen in the coming days2023 Yamaha FZ-X Dual ABS Launch SoonYamaha has a lot planned on their table right now. Yamaha chairman Eishin Chihana has previously stated that RX brand will return in 2026 or beyond and will feature an engine larger than 100cc. The company is also set to bring some of its big bikes like R7, MT-09 and an electric scooter along with them. But Chihana has hinted before that the company is more focused on the 125cc to 150cc segment and might consider launching an ADV in this space as well. It was speculated that it would be based on an FZ-X. Before that happened, Rushlane’s sources revealed that FZ-X is on the verge of being refreshed for MY2023.2023 Yamaha FZ-X Dual ABS Launch SoonYamaha FZ-X is the company’s attempt to take on neo-retro category with its tried and tested 150cc platform. As a result, we got an FZ-X with a circular headlamp with integrated DRL and a projector unit. It has more beef than regular FZ to offer a muscular stance, while the latter is marketed as a street bike in the commuter segment. For the 2023 update, the main highlight would be dual-channel ABS which used to be just single-channel ABS along with a twin pot-caliper at front. By doing this, Yamaha New FZ-X is the first 150cc motorcycle in India to come with a dual channel ABS option. The closest motorcycle that provides dual channel ABS option is Bajaj Pulsar N160.2023 Yamaha FZ-X Dual ABS Launch Soon – Golden AlloysAlong with improved braking, Yamaha will be offering golden-coloured alloys that we saw with FZS 25 and FZ FI before. FZ-X never received this treatment for its alloy wheels. Instead, Yamaha offered black rims along with pin-striping. With the 2023 Yamaha FZ-X, we now get golden-coloured alloy wheels that might not be to everyone’s taste. Lastly, the new FZ-X will feature a new colour. Details of this colour are not yet known.Specs & FeaturesDonning a neo-retro look, FZ-X is underpinned by the same platform and engine as FZ FI. Displacing 149 cc, this engine makes 12.2 bhp of power and 13.3 Nm of torque. A 5-speed gearbox is offered which regulates power to touch a claimed 115 km/h top speed. New FZ-X for MY2023 will remain unchanged mechanically.Except for new dual-channel ABS, rest of the componentry is kept identical as well. It remains to be seen if Yamaha is offering dual-channel ABS as standard or as an option with FZ-X. Owing to new hardware, there will be a price increment.Currently, it gets three colour options, Metallic Blue, Matt Copper and Matt Black and prices start from Rs. 1.35 lakh (ex-sh) which gets Bluetooth connectivity as well. New FZ-X will be launched in a few days and might be priced from Rs. 1.4 lakh (ex-sh). More

New Vespa 300cc Scooter Spied Testing In India – Launch In 2023

This 300cc engine is said to be similar to 300cc scooters offered by Keeway – It makes 18.4 bhp of power and 22 Nm of torqueImage for illustration. Credit – ScooteriaThe Indian scooter market was not mature enough to embrace unconventional products like Kinetic Blaze back in the day. Fast forward to 2023, we have sporty scooters in the form of Yamaha Aerox 155. 300cc scooters have sprung up too and if you want a grotesque, BMW even has C 400 GT that costs an absolute bomb.Vespa being a stalwart in the scooter field can’t shy away from offering a 300cc scooter in an important market like India. New Vespa GTS 300cc scooter has been spied testing in India and is likely to go on sale soon. Let’s take a look.New Vespa 300cc Scooter SpiedThere used to be multiple speculations in place since 2020 that Vespa is working on a larger 300cc engine. Followed by the economic crisis post Covid-19, this development was somewhat muted. In 2023, it seems to be undergoing testing for an imminent launch in near future.Vespa GTS line stands for Granturismo Sport and has a larger body than other Vespa scooters owing to its touring credentials. As the name suggests, Vespa GTS 300cc scooter is touring-oriented and hence offers a lot of space for both rider and pillion. The engine seems to be a much larger unit than Vespa’s current flagship Racing Sixties 150’s engine.New Vespa 300cc Scooter SpiedUpon closer inspection, this doesn’t look like the 2023 model that was showcased at 2022 EICMA. It is not yet sure if this test mule will get the same TFT colour screen as found on the GTS 300 SuperTech variant sold globally. The test mule spotted in India had a phone holder or testing equipment mounted on top of its instrument cluster.Another point to be noted is that global models get disc brakes at both front and back. The test mule that was spotted in India featured rear drum brakes. This might be a cost-cutting measure to offer 2023 Vespa GTS 300 at an attractive price point.Specs & FeaturesOther notable cost cutting is evident in the engine cooling system. While the Indian test mule is an air-cooled unit, globally, Vespa offers a liquid-cooled engine. The 300cc engine in question also does duties on recently launched Keeway Vieste 300 and Sixties 300i. On Keeway products, this engine is said to be on a different tune, while Vespa will offer its scooter with a different tune.Specifications and features including engine displacement might vary compared to international spec model. When launched, it will rival both Keeway scooters with 300cc engines and prices can fall between Rs. 3 – 3.5 lakh (ex-sh).Source More
