This battle will soon be played in the EV space as well.While Punch electric test mules have been spotted earlier, this is the first time Exter electric has been spied on road tests. The sense of urgency is clearly evident, as Hyundai hasn’t wasted any time in starting the trials for Exter EV. Launch is likely to take place next year.Hyundai Exter EV range, specsExter EV will be Hyundai’s first entry-level electric car in India. As of now, the company only offers premium range EVs in India such as Ioniq 5 and Kona Electric. In international markets, Hyundai offers a range of electric, hybrid and plug-in hybrid cars. Hyundai is currently working on Casper EV, which could have similarities with Exter EV.Exter has larger dimensions in comparison to Casper EV. It could get a higher capacity battery pack. For reference, Casper EV is expected to be equipped with a 40-kWh battery pack. Exter EV is likely to get a battery pack of around 25-30 kWh. Range is likely to be around 300-350 km.Hyundai Exter Electric SpiedFor example, Citroen eC3 offers range of 320 km, whereas MG Comet EV can travel 230 km on a full charge. Tiago EV has two variants, one with 250 km range and the other with 315 km range. Upcoming Punch EV is likely to have a similar range. An intense battle is expected between Hyundai Exter EV and Punch EV, as both will try to outdo each other in terms of range and performance.Exter EV styling, featuresExter EV will be largely the same as its ICE sibling in terms of its styling. There could be some changes at the front, along with exclusive EV badging. As evident in the spy shots, Exter EV can be seen with new wheels. Much of the features on the inside will be same as ICE Exter.The SUV is equipped with 1st in segment features such as voice enabled smart electric sunroof, dashcam with dual camera, paddle shifters, rear AC vents, footwell lighting, wireless phone charger, 12 language support and Alexa voice commands. Safety kit also includes 1st in segment features such as 6-airbags standard, tyre pressure monitoring system, hill start assist control, rear view camera with dynamic guidelines, electronic stability control and vehicle stability management.Pricing will play a key role in deciding who takes the lead in micro-SUV electric segment. ICE models of Exter and Punch are closely priced. But in CNG, Punch has taken a lead with starting price of Rs 7,09,900 lakh. In comparison, Exter CNG starts at Rs 8,23,990. These panniers were seen earlier as well at the 2022 Rider Mania event. Prices were revealed at Rs 13,500. However, the panniers are yet to be included on the company’s Make It Yours (MY) personalization platform. As testing is currently underway, the new panniers for Super Meteor 650 could be launched later this year.Super Meteor 650 Spotted With PanniersSuper Meteor 650 new panniers – detailsCut into a shape that closely resembles a quadrant, the new panniers sit snug with the broad rear fender. The top section closely follows the curvy design of the fender. The bottom section runs parallel to the exhaust, with an adequate gap to avoid the heat coming from the exhaust. The panniers are broader in the middle and they taper towards the end. The rear ends sit around 2-3 inches below the rear turn indicators.While it may appear that the fender is taking the full weight of the panniers, a user will need to buy additional rails to support the panniers. When the prices of the accessories were revealed, the rails were quoted at Rs 4,500. So, overall cost for the panniers is Rs 18,000. However, it has been several months since the prices were revealed. It is likely that the panniers will have a slightly higher pricing at the time of launch.As of now, Royal Enfield offers a range of accessories for Super Meteor 650. These include both cosmetic and functional accessories. They are available across various categories such as protection, controls, seats, bodywork, engine and electrical. Luggage and security and maintenance categories are currently blank for Super Meteor 650. One can expect multiple new accessories for the bike in addition to the bagger-style panniers.New panniers for Super Meteor 650 improve usability, all while enhancing the bike’s touring character. Their aerodynamic shape should ensure the least wind resistance. It will help avoid any wobbly feel that comes with inappropriately placed luggage items. We’re talking about the new 390 Duke, 390 Adventure and even a new 390 Enduro (rumoured name). But the most awaited offering in that range has to be the new KTM RC 390. It is a fully-faired motorcycle with a firecracker of an engine with explosive performance.Testing has commenced and we have covered 390 Duke, 390 Adventure and 390 Enduro before. The new set of RC 390 test mules reveal a design that we saw with the 1st generation of RC motorcycles. It is almost like KTM has opened a portal back in time. Let’s take a look at what KTM has in the pipeline for us with RC range.New KTM RC 390New KTM RC 390 Spotted TestingFor starters, KTM fans weren’t too keen on 2nd gen RC motorcycle design at all. KTM had matured a lot with the 2nd gen model by toning down its aggressive design. But it seems like fans really craved that aggressive and quintessential RC look.We are getting it back, though. KTM is bringing back its mean and sleek fairing where projector headlight reside in a pronounced recess. Instead of two projectors in the 1st gen model, the upcoming 3rd gen model will get one projector containing both low and high beams. The new fairing is a lot more sleaker than the 2nd unit.New KTM RC 390 rearCooling and aerodynamics seem to be better too. ORVM stalks are new and look upmarket and more aerodynamic. The rear subframe is naked in this test mule for some reason and is missing its rear subframe body panel. Earlier spy shots had full-body panels along with a vertical LED tail light as well.New KTM RC 390 sideBecause the rear body panel and LED taillights are missing, it looks like rear LED indicators are doubling as brake lights. But that is not the case. It is highly likely that this naked rear subframe along with a rack is only limited with this test mule to accommodate testing data equipment. Also, the new KTM RC 390 will pack an underbelly exhaust too.Is a 399cc engine confirmed?Underbelly exhaust makes the overall machine compact and helps in mass centralization too. Adjustable USD front telescopic forks will let riders finesse suspension on the go. The new banana-shaped custom swingarm is common with 390 Duke as well. There will be a new instrument console too.In terms of ergonomics, it is still committed and the intended audience won’t mind it one bit. Sporty and stickier Pirelli tyres could make it to final production. Rumour mill suggests a larger 399cc single-cylinder engine with over 45 bhp of power and 40 Nm of torque. Quick shifter (up and down), slipper clutch, dual channel ABS with cornering ABS are likely features.Production will happen in India at Bajaj’s facilities. There are multiple instances of new KTM 390 Duke spottings at Bajaj’s production facilities too. Production might start in 2024 with debut probably at 2023 EICMA Show.Image source More
